I have bought several barrels from UB and I can say the quality is amazing. I have use the barrels to make my own meads which have gone on to win brewing competitions. Their products are perfect for small batch experimentation or long term aging.

Very local plant store with alright prices, (but a bit pricey from my observations.) Located on top of the well-known espresso bar, this spot has a comfy atmosphere and knowledgeable staff. You’ll also be able to find some more peculiar plants that wouldn’t be anywhere else!
This place was absolutely amazing! Right when I walked in, I was greeted so nicely by who I presume to be the owner. I came in looking for a house plant for my boyfriend and the owner was so knowledgeable and helpful in answering my questions and getting the perfect plant. Not only that, but while potting the plant for me, he had wrapped it up very considerably knowing that I was walking (aka he had double bagged it and stapled it mostly shut since it was below 0 temp outside and he didn’t want it affecting the plant). The selection of plants and prices were great! There’s also a cute cafe underneath this plant shop which is great if you want a quick drink. Overall, I thoroughly enjoyed my experience and recommend this place to anyone looking to purchase a house plant - thank you Plant Society!
I got the most beautiful big and drama tic plants for our beautiful home. I looked everywhere for such a big plant and couldn’t find one anywhere! The service and the people there we’re so nice and kind. I will definitely be going back the prices are unbeatable.
What a quaint little plant shop! It was such a lovely place to find the perfect housewarming gift for a friend (and for myself!) This plant shop is a shop upstairs and a gelato and coffee bar downstairs. First impressions are of the friendliness of both the espresso bar downstairs as well as the gentleman who assisted me with my purchases. I love the variety of house plants they had and the handmade products that was available. The associate that helped me was very thorough and extremely knowledgeable on the plants and their products. It was such a lovely experience… I’ll definitely be back sometime again!
Just had the most amazing and fantastic experience shopping in Purdys located in Guildford Mall today. A very young and enthusiastic sales girl name Anureet made me laugh so hard. She was candid , friendly , professional knowledgeable and went far beyond to help me buy 4 gifts for my friends and associates. Thank you so much for making my experience memorable! I will definitely be back when I need to buy more chocolate for gifts.
This is the second time I received terrible service from Sherry at Purdy’s Guildford. Sherry appears to be racist against POC. We had placed our items RIGHT IN FRONT IF HER, on the counter to pay, when Sherry greeted and took the caucasian person BEHIND us in the lineup and checked out his items first. We looked at Sherry in confusion, as we were clearly first to the counter, but she nonchalantly declared that “the other person got there at the same time” - which was impossible, as he was still trying to fish for his cash and was behind us in line. Sherry then didn’t give us our receipt and just blatantly stared at us. Absolutely rude behaviour and Purdy’s should reconsider hiring people like this, especially during the holidays!
This is our favourite escape room location! We've been to two different rooms and are consistently impressed with the quality and thought they put into their escape rooms. We're looking forward to going back and trying more of the rooms!
My friends and I did the Noriko room (nearly completed but ran out of time) and it was really fun!! I won’t leave any spoilers but the room—as every room is—incredibly well done. I had my reservations about booking Noriko because I have a huge fear of japanese ghosts but it was really enjoyable. I would say the scariness factor was probably a 7/10, especially if you’re going in a bigger group like we did. The staff as always are always super helpful and kind.
Good selection, and well kept plant shop. The staff were very nice and the person I had at check out gave me details about my plant and threw in watering instructions. Overall all plants in the store looked great and they were presented nicely. The prices on the plants were not over expensive either. This is my braided money tree about a week after purchase!
Great concept combining a plant shop on the main floor and a coffee/gelato cafe in the basement. Enjoyed how friendly the staff were in both stores and how they recommended each other’s services.

I have done four of the escape rooms from this location, and it is by far my favourite place to go in Toronto. The games are always so immersive, and there are always multiple rooms with lots of interactive puzzles. I will be coming back again to do all of the other escape rooms!
Absolutely incredible rooms! The immersion and atmosphere and storytelling is exactly what you want from an escape room.
Biggest downside is that they don't have more locations with different rooms to try, because I'm running out of new awesome rooms to play!

I had a great experience with Things Engraved getting custom engraving on glasses for a gift. I went to the location on Belgreen Dr. to see if they could customize the engraving more than the online tool was allowing. Will was super helpful in the store to produce some mockup designs for me to review and it was fast turn around time for the engraving. I'm really pleased with the finished product and I'll definitely be back for future gifts! Thanks so much!

It's the coolest escape room I've ever been! Other places have manual and rusty puzzles, and I have experienced the lock (a part of the main scenario) that didn't work due to wear and tear. But this place has automatic systems and a automatic hint box too! The story was enjoyable, and everything looked clean and fancy with very friendly staffs. I highly recommend this place and we will come back for sure.
I've been to escape rooms before and they just were not interactive. THIS place was absolutely fun! Loved going into different rooms, and I loved the story.. our group had a lot of fun. Would come back!!

Visited today for a team building event with some coworkers. My group did the Missing Will room and we had a great time! We managed to escape with a few minutes to spare. I wish I had brought my glasses, as my middle-aged eyes had some difficulty reading the clues, but that's on me. There were 3 gentleman working while we were there, and they were all super friendly and welcoming. The consensus among my group and the other team was that a good time was had by all. Highly recommend!
This little plant shop is seriously a mini-jungle in the city. It's packed with all kinds of plants, big and small, all perfect for sprucing up any room. The two owners and the staff member are so cool - they really know their plants and never get tired of my endless questions. It's been a year and my home is full of thriving plants, thanks to their advice. If you're into plants, this place is a must-visit.

I purchased a customized barrel from Urban Barrel. Jeff was amazing at communicating and coming up with a design that was exactly what I wanted. The barrel is much better than I could have imagined. If I could give 10 stars I would have. I very highly recommend Urban Barrel !!!!!

Tina proactively called and took the time to ask about and understand my wedding theme/colours and custom designed a label within a few days. I picked them up, and Tina even helped us get them to the car and loaded. The favours were very cute and professionally put together, and very popular with the guests. Would highly recommend for any custom event or occasion gifts!

What gets the 5 star rating is how incredibly kind and friendly the employee was (young asian man) He really went above and beyond with how he interacted with myself and other customers. He was so nice and in a genuine way and very helpful. If I was a business owner I'd hire him in a second.

Ordered the 1L Oak Aging Barrel Gift Set very very last minute, and was blown away by the incredible customer service - the communication regarding the engraving and the efficiency of processing and sending the order was top notch. Would definitely support this Canadian company again :)

I recently order a customized flask and shot glass set to give as a gift. The website made it seem like it was a very simple process of customizing the items but when I received the items I was really disappointed with the work done on them. I had asked for the flask to be customized on the front and back only to see that the front was customized and the back was blank. The customization was also slanted on the flask and of course cannot be altered since it was engraved. I was also disappointed to see that the symbol I requested to be on the shot glasses was completely different than what was engraved. If there was an issue with the symbol I requested, I would have appreciated if someone from customer service reached out to me prior to see if I was okay with the symbol they recommended or simply ask if I could remove it from my request rather than assuming that I would like it. I also really dislike the way the font turned out on the shot glasses, it's very uneven and jagged and it's a completely different font color than the font on the flask! I asked for black font on the flask and shot glasses but the flask has silver font (which is partially slanted) and the shot glasses have black font with a symbol I didn't even request. To be honest, the flask and shot glasses do not look cohesive and because of this I wish someone reached out to me first if there was an issue with my request. Overall, I am quite disappointed in this purchase and I have to resort to buying a blank flask and shot glasses to customize on my own with permanent vinyl.

I ordered a memorial name plate for a portrait being sold to a customer of mine. It took 6 business days to be shipped to me from Ottawa to Ottawa and they put the incorrect year on the plate. I phoned immediately to explain their mistake and that I needed the correct plate asap as I missed a deadline for my customer because of them. No apology and had to email a pic of the wrong plate. I asked to reply with acknowledgement and when the new plate would be on its way. Nothing. Next day phoned again to find out if they received my email. She had forgotten to reply. 5 business days and I still have no plate which was to be shipped from Ottawa to my Ottawa address. Obviously no priority put on something for being their mistake. I never had problems when they had a kiosk.
So happy to have stumbled upon Urban Barrel Company last month as I was looking for a very personalized gift for a good friend. Jeff was quick to answer all my questions beforehand about the products. I ordered a customized barrel a few weeks in advance, understanding the curing process takes time before the product is ready to use. After the curing process, noticed a small leak in the spigot and the contacted Jeff again and he promptly overnighted a replacement (and a spare) spigot so that I would be able to gift the barrel in time to my friend. Rare to see such amazing customer service like this nowadays. Great product and gift idea made in Canada is also a plus!

I had ordered a barrel extra early for a birthday gift from another company, paid express shipping (should have arrived 5-10 days), 3 weeks later still hadn't received it and they were of no help at all. Less than a week away, and panicking, I had called, and Jeff was such a great help, they had my personalized barrel out to me in 3 days! Great customer service and a beautiful looking product, definitely have a repeat customer from me in the future.

Haven’t received my order and don’t know when I will. So can’t tell anything about the engraved things ordered. But they have offered the worst online shopping experience I have ever had. No customer care at all!!!Strongly not recommend for any orders from them unless you expect huge disappointment.

Received the order in 4 weeks finally (don’t believe their 3-5 business days trap) just to find the engraving was wrong. They put 2005 instead of 2015, so changing 5-year birthday into 15-year!!!

This has always been my go to engraving place, although very expensive, they really are the only ones around. I needed a gift engraved for an event, so I called ahead to make sure they had the item, confirmed engraving costs and time to have it ready, so that I could run in before heading to the event.. Had my husband drop in earlier to prepay so things would be seamless... NOT!! When we returned to pick up the item, my husband ran in and she had it packed in a bag.. So he grabbed it and came out... The store manager had lightly engraved the piece and was hardly visible.. But proceeded to hand us the display model, with no box and no ribbon that the item came with... (Pewter Certificate tube where the bow hides the center joint) I was told they had others in stock, but in all the advanced planning, the manager was not able to "find" the boxed ones.. Until I insisted and waited for her to do so half hour into our event... Was so disappointed, have not been back since.
A huge thank you to Lydia and Della Terra for putting together my wedding favours. I cannot say enough great things about the service I received and the quality of the oil and vinegar -- absolutely delicious, the best flavoured oil and vinegar I ever tried! Lydia was fantastic to work with, quick to reply and made the whole process incredibly simple. They were able to make custom bottle labels and tags as well. I live over an hour away but will definitely be back for more flavors! Thank you so much again for helping make our wedding truly special.

I ordered some beautiful Christmas decorations about 2 weeks ago, they were a fantastic price. They came fairly fast during this pandemic, only took a week and it was delayed because of Canada Post. The items which were breakable were wrapped really well. Unfortunately 1 of the figurines arrived broken, I emailed the company and they were prompt with their response and are going to send me a new figurine. Fantastic service and customer care. Highly recommend!
I have always found ordering from Things Engraved to be very easy and quick. There is something for everyone on their website. The items have always been great quality. The items i have purchased in the past always arrive before, or right on time without delays. Usually within the same day I order I will recieve a package has been sent email. This last item was a gift, my niece was very happy to receive it.

Initially I was told my order would cost one amount, upon pick-up was told it would be double the initial cost. The item was already engraved so I had no choice but to pay for it. No-one from the store contacted me regarding the change and when I went to pick-up the item, it was scratched all over and looked terrible. The customer service with all of this was AWFUL. I do not recommend them and will never be shopping here again.
I am blown away by the beauty of this barrel and it’s craftsmanship. I will be giving this as a gift for Christmas and already am in love with the sleek look and design. It will be a beautiful addition to any bar!

The idea is great but the cost is outrageous. Engraved a mug and it cost over a 100$ as you pay for each letter

I find that this location is usually well stocked and all the employees are friendly and helpful.

Jasmine was amazing. I came to get a key cut and a keychain. She was so helpful and kind and gave me some great ideas for a gift. I had a bad experience with a different key cutting location and she put me in a much better mood.
We had an anniversary gift engraved here and they did a wonderful job. I have come to this Carlingwood location before and much prefer it to the Rideau center location.
The worst ever experience I had. Been told to wait 1 hr for the gift to be engraved, I came after almost 2 hours and been told to wait another 15 min! Even by then It was not finished and sure to take another hour! Had to cancel the order:(
Incredible customer service. Whoever closed this location on Jan 31 deserves a raise. Carlingwood has my business, for life, thank you for stretching protocol to make my family happy.
