Weird experience at this store, hard time finding what I am looking for lots of staff just walking by nobody seem to know where items are or offered help, except a guy at the cheese section and a young lady at the counter, security guy was following me every isle I go creeped me out, I was about to talk to him asking why but I kept my cool. Spent about an hour and something just looking for 10 items

Today Sunday I purchased 1 Sandwich Wrap Jerk Chicken for $6.79 + tax at around 7:45am.
I went to work and put the sandwich wrap into the cooler. At 10:30am I went to grab the sandwich from the cooler and the plastic container that came with it just opened completely, dropping the chicken wrap splattering the food all over the floor. Obviously the plastic container was not closed completely. The argument here would be that I must have jarred it loose when I was carrying it. I don’t think so, but I’m anticipating that’s what Safeway will say.

As a customer in the West end I'm not pleased with the way that they deal with safety issues at this branch Safeway. At the far end of the store near the southwest side you'll find two of the main doors that are supposed to be doors that are for going out are labeled in so all two doors on each side are labeled in yet there is a an exit sign saying that you can leave the building if you're in a wheelchair it makes it difficult to pull a door open when the door should be using its mechanism properly. The excuse that has been given that they do not comply with the fire department which I've complained to many a time going through 311 is that there's so much theft going on. My answer to this is to stop charging the prices that you are and stealing from your clients. To me that only makes people who are to disadvantaged want to take much more serious steps in numerous different cases this could cause harm to the employees because when you take something from somebody at a much higher price than you have to well therefore the results could be quite upsetting to store management and the employees who work at the store. number two it puts me at risk that if there is some crazy person that has decided that they've had a bad day and they have a weapon and they go to use it on a client I have no chance to escape and a wheelchair. It is amazing how these stores these big giant conglomerates of grocery stores get away with flagrantly skirting the law and deciding to do whatever it is they want to do. It is illegal for you to be closing your doors that are considered fire exit doors and the fact that you do this shows me that you have no concerns for the safety of your other patrons in the store who do abide by the rules. It shows me that all your concerned about is how much money is leaving your store but again and once again if there wasn't such a thing as shrink inflation or for the stores capacity to think about how much money they can get out of somebody's wallet before they leave then you wouldn't have these issues. I'm hoping it'll never be put up to the test but I'll tell you one thing right now and I give you plain notice if something happens to me in your store I will sue you and I hope you understand that I will take legal action against you and I will expect that the court would turn around and award me damages for any event or injury I might have and I would leave it up to my family to sue you upon my death if that's caused in your store because of your disregard for my safety
Such a lovely little hidden gem! Staff were amazing and created sandwiches for my little picky eaters. Every item in their bakery looked delicious. I will certainly be back and recommend this cafe to everyone visiting Qualicum!

Decent prices, good store with a large selection.
Free parking below the store for up to one hour while shopping.
Loblaws City Market offers a refreshing grocery shopping experience. The store boasts a well-curated selection of products, ensuring that customers can find everything they need, from fresh produce to pantry staples. The layout is clean and inviting, making it easy to navigate through the aisles.

One standout feature of this grocery store is its deli section. With a wide variety of freshly prepared foods, the deli caters to diverse tastes and dietary preferences. Whether you're in the mood for a quick snack or a full meal, the deli's offerings are sure to satisfy.

Among the deli's highlights is the pesto sandwich, which stands out for its rich flavor and quality ingredients. The pesto is perfectly balanced, complementing the fresh vegetables and high-quality bread. This sandwich is a testament to the store’s commitment to providing delicious and wholesome options.

Additionally, the staff at Loblaws City Market are friendly and helpful, enhancing the overall shopping experience. Was followed around as I was looking for something to eat in the prepared foods section. At the cash I was told I couldn’t bring my bicycle inside. My bike is over $6K and I’m not locking it up anywhere ever. It wasn’t even busy or anything. Definitely never going back!

Delicious cronuts with a variety of flavours. Bought the 1/2 dozen to taste more flavours! Charlie Brown was a classic and probably one of the best too. Would recommend trying them at least once.

White the store was neat and tidy, we found Safeway expensive. The staff were not very helpful. We bought strawberry and by next it started to rot.
Seriously the best dessert I've ever had in my entire life. I tried the key lime and my son tried the pink lemonade. The icing, the filling, it's like a donut but made from a croissant so you get the buttery and flakiness of a croissant. It's seriously the best thing ever!
This lablaws is horrible! Customer service is garage and you can never find staff in the flower department. Melissa from Joe Fresh Manger has very poor customer service skills she needs to brush up on her skills. Will never shop at this location again.
Marissa has the bad service ever.
I’m a costumer from this store around 7 years now, Today I went to buy flowers for a birthday, I chose flowers and confirmed with the lady who was working there the price. So, when I arrived on the self checkout I saw the price was higher than the sign and the lady was confirmed for me, I asked to confirm and it was confirmed, so the cashier manager said to me you will not take it for this price, and I asked to confirm 3 times, even confirmed she did want to do the price for me.
Marissa was her name, she asked again for the lady who works on the cashier and I said to her it was the correct price, she looked at me and she said I didn’t ask you and tuned her back to me. I asked for the manager on duty, he didn’t appear to talk to me. Marissa and the manager on duty were impolite people and I think they couldn’t even work on the store.
I wasn’t believing that was happening. Sad see people like that.

QUALITY ALERT! You would expect Loblaw to maintain high standards but I found an insect in the Greek Salad I picked up from their store at East Mall today. So gross, I can never buy anything from their ready-to-eat food section again. Disgusting!
It has a fun pizza bar, a Starbucks, a lot of fun food and a good positive vibe. Good beer selection. The only thing I’d improve is the organic produce.
I love the Safeway I go to it on a daily basis. Anything I need I go there , it’s clean, friendly and reliable staffing. It has beautiful scenery while you shop the thing I didn’t like was that it’s got really dirty washrooms but that’s the only thing I can say bad about this Safeway!

Worst Safeway store Ive been to!
Rude security staff who are not trained properly. 👎🏻
Not enough staff/cashiers
Tills are super dirty 👎🏻
The one on Davie st is much better.
Absolutely the best home made cinnamon rolls!! And awesome decaf coffee.
Had the absolutely delicious bacon Gruyère scone and some wonderful flat whites. Definitely recommend this place for a pit stop. Nice seating area in the back. Their coffee beans are wonderful as well.

Florentine omelette with a large latte. Seriously well made and tasty. The latte was superb.

Industrial/cafeteria style complete with glitter ball hanging from the ceiling.
Television in one corner and fully accessible by the side door if you have a scooter, wheelchair or baby carriage.

Place your order at the counter, pay and have a seat. Your meal will be brought to you.
Note: Tipping is cash only and not available by debit/credit.

Very much a go to eatery for an affordable meal.
I came here for brunch. It was quite busy for a weekday. The food was decently priced, washroom was dirty. I feel there should have been more than one person managing entire restaurant by himself.
Wife and I ordered 2 mochas 1 large 1 small and 2 cinnamon buns after we took off my wife later told me the coffees were the same price? Also charged extra for a cup? Cinnamon buns ARE NOT the best we’ve had much better the mochas were just full of chocolate won’t return!!!!!!
Amazing coffee and delicious breakfast! Had the avocado toast and the presentation was so beautiful, I almost didn’t want to eat it.
What a pleasant way to start the day. Such warm and inviting customer service. The food was excellent ( Lassi, sandwich croissant, peach cheesecake) and prices very reasonable for the quality. We are here for a short visit but will be back!

Good food at reasonable price, quality as well as quantity. Good atmosphere for couples, family and groups. Service is quick.
Several years ago, one of our patients gifted us with the box of these beautiful donuts. I was absolutely astonished at how original and delicious they were. Flash forward several years after they were featured on Dragon’s den and the place has just blown up.
I travelled from Downtown to Orleans on a Saturday morning to lineup at opening in order to get the donut flavours I wanted to gift some of my family members I hadn’t seen for two years. Prior to arriving, I went online to choose out my flavors. I was prepared for the price of$5.80 per donut. For anyone who complains about this please keep in mind that these are not regular size Tim Hortons type donuts. One donut is seriously the equivalent of four donut. Six could fit a 12 donut box size. Each box of 6 must’ve weighed about 5 pounds each . These are also not your regular sugar filled cheap commercial type donuts. These are original, unique and very carefully crafted, custom-made delicacies that look like mini cakes on their own. They had unique flavours such as peanut butter and chocolate, New York cheesecake, cookies, and cream, raspberry lemon, bacon… and each carefully decorated with incredible, tasty and artistic looking creamy decorative gourmet toppings. I believe $5.80 is a small price to pay for these beauties.. But what makes these donuts special is 140 layers of buttery croissant/ Phyllo dough like donut base that is just pure butter goodness that melts in your mouth.
I purchased a box of a dozen of them and paid about $75. Since I don’t visit my family members often I thought that was appropriate. I also purchased an extra one for myself. I chose the peanut butter and chocolate. I have tried more simple flavours in the past and found this one was way too sugary for my taste.. It would be nice if they could tone down the sugar a bit to try to balance, the buttery base and sweet topping harmoniously.. A small detail, which I believe over time as they develop more flavours and perfect their donut, they may achieve. For the time being I highly recommend this place if you want to give a special gift to someone or if you want to have a special occasion treat.
Special mention of the gentleman at the counter who was very kind. Although he had a big line up at 9 AM within the first few minutes of opening the store, he remained very joyful and engaged in conversation with everyone..
I can’t wait for them to open up a store downtown. I’ll definitely be there more often buying special gifts of buttery sugary goodness for everyone. Thank you Holey Confections. My family loved your donuts.

Hey loblaws why is the almond milk of the same brand at provigo $6 and now in maxi at the same store and location $2.99? Is it because people found out about the pandemic pioneering pricing you did? 😑
My first and certainly not the last time here! Absolutely delicious avocado toast as well as latte and freshly baked cookies! Also, both team members were so lovely and pleasant!
Went in for my first time a couple weeks ago, looks small from the outside but it actually is a much bigger space once inside. I had a chai latte and grilled cheese with tomato soup both were delicious!
There is an Asian woman at the checkout. Every time I go through her lane I feel like I own her money. Other staffs are Ok.
I walked into the new Maxi on Newman today for the first time and I was overwhelmed by the size of the store. I saw a Maxi employee and asked him for help. He was amazing, insisting on walking with me to find what I was looking for. His name was Francis and he is such a kind and exceptional person.

If you’re looking for a different kind of donut then this is a place worth trying out. We saw a TikTok the night before we were scheduled for a road trip to Ottawa. We stopped by and received friendly service.

The donuts are great but they don’t come cheap. At about $5.80 each they’re a bit pricey but definitely worth every penny. I had the Skor flavour but ate it before snapping a pic of the Cookies & Cream and Jelly flavours that my wife and daughter got.

The hashtag under their store sign says #DietStartsTomorrow which is the truth. Pretty sure these donuts have a days worth of calories in them.
I shop at this store regularly. It’s clean, well set out, and always has fresh produce, seafood, and meat. They also have excellent sushi made right in the store. The employees are all very friendly, helpful (shout out to Monika and Dawn), and welcoming. Free underground parking and an in-store Starbucks makes shopping here a great idea.

I ordered the Honey Raspberry Cake because I absolutely loved the design they have pictured and the description sounded amazing. However I was disappointed that it did not have the same design as the product photos as well as very uneven icing. It also did not appear to have the "More than 30(!!!) Layers" that was described in the product description. Overall the cake tasted fine but it was not what I was expecting based on what is shown on their website.
The food was ok – not the best in the town, but edible. The man behind the counter was pretty attentive and ready to help with making a choice.
However, the atmosphere was impacted by the area itself – it didn't look like a cafe – too spacious, too empty, too strange. Was it a bankrupt night club before?

Note: this Maxi is actually located in Carrefour Angrigon - I don't know why the pin is on the 7700 block of Newman blvd. Great place to shop - keep an eye on the fliers for deals. Has just about everything but ethnic aisles are a bit weak compared to other Maxis.

Hands down the best donut I have ever had. Lives up to the hype and is worth the price. Don’t know how my family is supposed to go back to regular donuts after this.
Stopped by this charming cafe while on our way to Tofino and it was a pleasant surprise! From the outside, it might look small, but don’t let appearances deceive you – it’s surprisingly spacious and has a very homely vibe inside. My wife and I enjoyed a delicious scone with butter and a tomato basil soup that was just perfect. We also had the chance to chat with the owner, who was incredibly polite and took the time to share his journey of opening his first location and now this second gem on Vancouver Island. It’s clear this place is run with love and care. Highly recommend dropping by if you’re in the area. A true highlight of our trip!

Incredible donut - I had the peanut butter munchkin. It's really a takeout location (and well worth it) as there was only one table and two chairs. This is not your typical donut - i think it's called a cronut (cross between a croissant and donut). They have a great selection of very tasty donuts, but if you arrive too late in the day, your favorite may be sold out.
Although you can also get a drip coffee too, you are coming here for the donuts!

I have ordered cakes twice so far from this bakery and i could not be happier. Not only they deliver on the design you want, the cakes also taste so delicious.
And what i love the most is their excellent customer service. I would recommend this bakery 100%.
Bakery smelt so fresh.

The staff is pretty helpful and polite (I encountered the ones at the self checkout)

Lots of variety and stuff with some products being a little expensive vs some on flyer deals. Over all, good experience. Airy and bright.

Ordered a custom cake for delivery for my partner’s birthday who loves Dungeons and Dragons. The cake was very well made, and tasty! The design was replicated beautifully from my inspiration photo.

The reason for not 5 stars is because I think the communication between the team, as well as the communication between the customer and contact needs to improve. The email replies I got were a bit delayed, and then I was told I could pay my invoice 3 days before delivery, and then emailed being asked for the money earlier. It was okay, just seemed a bit unprofessional.

Additionally they didn’t really tell me the delivery window - they said it was a 2-3 hour window, but could also be a 5 hour window, because the service they use are not the most consistent. This isn’t the most true statement as they use Trexity which my work also uses. Our window is between 11am-3pm because you have the ability to choose an open and closing time for the deliveries, and can provide tracking.

Overall a good experience, just a bit unorganized. Would recommend to people, just call or message them very early so you can have time to sort out details.

Thank you very much!
This is the only large supermarket (other than IGA) on Nun’s Island, like Superstore out West but a lot cleaner. We go there often. Prices are good and there is a variety of cheeses, hams, and juices to buy. Our favourite part of Provigo is their charcuterie. The selections of hams from chicken to turkey to beef are amazingly mouthwatering. (Try the piri piri chicken ham). We go almost every week and have only so far tried four different types. The charcuterie is definitely our reason to go to the supermarket often. 😂

We got the honey raspberry cake. Absolutely delicious. So beautiful and cute. May I say as well what a beautiful presentation.
It is a very beautiful gift and actually made my daughter's day for her birthday.
The store is conveniently located in the mall, is clean, has a good selection and decent prices. The reason for only two stars, is that there are often issues with checkout. Today I was there with only one cashier checkout open (express) and self checkout with one employee. The lines were huge, and customers were being very mean to the employees, who's fault it was not that they were so understaffed. The employees were visibly stressed as a man yelled at them and no one had their back. The mangers at this store need to do a much better job of supporting their employees.

We visit Safeway on Robson monthly. Usually good, but fruits and vegetables can be iffy.
No big problems until the last trip. Got a coconut, was excited, but when we opened it at home, it was rotten and moldy as shown in the pictures—pretty disappointing.
I was gifted a box of donuts from here, so I can’t judge the service or atmosphere. However, I should note that I’m not the biggest fan of donuts since a lot of places don’t do them very well. Holey Confections was different in that regard. I really enjoyed the food here and found the filling in the donuts to be the biggest reason why. I’ll definitely be making a stop someday to check out more of their selection.

Amazing French European style Pastry with some yummy Cakes and desserts, the taste will make you feel as if you were in some traditional Parisian pastry.
very stylish vibe and super friendly and knowledgeable service. Portions are big so you get a great value for your money.
Once you get there enjoinment is granted.
A truly great find! Coffee is one of the best. I normally enjoy coffee with chocolate notes— the ones they serve here changed my mind about coffee with fruity notes. The cheddar scone was AMAZING, and tomato soup was packed with flavour. Friendly staff, cool little spot, we will definitely be back!
Cashier at the express counter on her phone when I go at the cash to pay and she is not even bother . So we asked her what is so interested on the phone. Her reply she is not bothering anyone. She is getting pay to work and serve the public. This is today at about 2.30 pm

When I took the lids off some products several weeks after buying them, I realized that not one, but several of them had already been opened and were no longer fresh. By then it was too late to return them, and it would have been difficult to prove that I wasn't the one who opened them. If the store doesn't have enough staff to properly cover that much square footage, they should reduce the amount of products they sell. I won't be going back.
Love this little coffee shop! Close to our own business and absolutely the best staff around. Oat lattes are amazing. They put a bear in my foam and call me crazy but I think that deserves 5 stars!!!
What an amazing grocery store (it's a lot more than just this, but putting it in a Kiwi equivalent). There is SO MUCH on offer and the selection is almost overwhelming. Beautiful pastries, and a bistro, self-service soups and meals ... the list goes on!
Not sure why anyone would rate French Press anything less than five stars. Service is awesome, food & drink very high quality, and the sit down cafe is very clean and modern. Will happily return as often as possible !
They should remove self-service and hire more employees and a new manager who knows how to run a supermarket , the place is a mess ,

What a great little secret place to eat. Very low key but this place is perfect for brunch or lunch. I've been here several times for take out and dine in. What i love about this place: huge variety of western diner style food, fast service, not crowded with free wifi and TV, they don't skimp out on take out orders, delicious and well priced. This is one of my favourite places to go and would continue to support this business.
Went at 11 am weekday , pizza section was not open with nothing on display, a lot of discounted past due best before dates in the prepared food section. Very small choice of fresh fish. Starbucks and bistro area very nice.
I have ordered a cake for my dads birthday quite on short notice. They were very helpful and answered right away. We picked the Black Forest cake and everyone was really into it. It wasn’t too sweet and was just perfectly looking.

I recommend Cheer Me Up! to anyone looking for a place to have a cake made. Marina made the cakes for my godson's 1 year birthday, which had a dinosaur theme. She answered all my questions, understood my needs and made perfect recommendations. The red velvet is delicious! All the guests commented on it. Many thanks to Marina and Steve for your help.
I am glad to have a grocery store nearby that opens from 7am to 11pm. It was a brand new store when they opened in 2015. Friendly staff especially Monika and Dawn. Large underground parking or park along Arbutus after 7pm. I am glad you don't need any coins for their shopping carts. There's a new Starbucks kiosks inside the store now by the north entrance and it closes at 7 pm.

Croissant tree is a wonderful small local owned cafe, with great food and even better atmosphere. I cannot say enough about how kind the staff were to me, made me feel very welcome. I had the very tasty smoked turkey avocado melt sandwich for breakfast with a side of home fries. Will probably get regular fries or a salad next time because I guess the home fries were a bit too potato-ey for me haha. Love this place will definitely come back whenever I’m in the area.
Very Impressed on our visit. We tried Kiwi Lime Pie, Pistachio Cheese Cake, and Carrot Cake So delicious. I loved the fruit pie. Cardamom Tea is the best combination with all the dessert.
The staff is very friendly.

It will be my go to spot from now on.
Outstanding food and service. If you haven’t dined here, you really should! The chai tea was perfectly made. The cheese scone and carrot ginger soup were flavourful and thoughtfully plated. A real gam.
Pretty good deals, decent variety and has a couple of actual Mexican products (La Costeña beans and adobo, Mexican Coca-Cola, charras Tostadas). Also have some tomatillos (green tomatoes) and chiles (Serrano, Poblano, etc). Check them out in the photos!

One of the most beautiful grocery chain i visited . Its huge and literally got anything to everything . Even sells patio. Saw coffee shop inside , pasta station . Loved how big and clean this place was .
I like shopping here although it's a bit pricy.

This review and low rating is for the chicken. See photo. They used those elastic bungee cords instead of twine to tie up the chicken for BBQ.

I'm pretty sure these aren't food grade and definitely not as environmentally friendly as twine.
What a face lift. Great work! I hear the pizza bar is a must try!
Went for a little lunch today, the food and people were amazing. I had a spicy chicken roll and a snow shoe, both were really good. My wife had a bowl of the soup of the day and a dessert. The soup was to die for, the flavors were amazing, next time I am getting a bowl.

If you are ever in Qualicum Beach give this place a try, you would regret it.

This is one grocery store I just enjoy going to. They have fresh seafood, they can even have fresh lobsters steamed. Lots of cheese choices, baked goods, fresh produce, good quality of fresh meat. Aisles are wide, place so clean. They also have hot food, an organic section, aisles for kitchen stuff and wine. So many good choices all in one place.  I also liked that they have Joe Fresh apparel for men, women and kids. It is just unfortunate that they no longer have cooking classes.  Also Optimum card doesn't give points for all purchases only for certain items being offered for the week.
Loved shopping in this Provigo with sushi spot and Starbucks in it! The sushi here has quite a few selections and the price is reasonable. Full filled our grocery shopping and dinner dining with options for dessert shopping all at the same time!
A bunch of people and yet I get no service 🤷🏻‍♀️

I miss the old florists. They went above and beyond.
While this time, the bouquet of flowers turned out okay, she simply handed me the bouquet without any wrapping, for $78.18, I expect a nice paper or plastic wrapping the flowers together with plant food. In addition, I was not provided my receipt and when I went back for it. I was told that it is not possible at all because she has just rang the next customer.

I worked as a cashier before and I’m very baffled by her comment, you mean to tell me a big supermarket chain like Provigo is using a system that does not allow recall of receipt for previous transactions at all?
I like this store in my neighborhood, especially the small café inside. The store is spacious and well organized, clean, and carries a lot of products. The meat and seafood are always fresh. I’d like to get my yoghurt and oat milk here, of which they have many varieties and at reasonable prices.
I used to come daily to their cafe for fresh made breakfast sandwiches and coffee before COVID. Today, I came again. And Marla at the counter was very patient to customize my breakfast sandwich. Although it was busy, she still came to ask the customers how their breakfasts were. I highly recommend this store, especially their breakfast sandwiches and coffee.
Unfortunately, it’s not best place for various reasons, big store as Maxi should pay attention for the rotten products on shelves ,corn, oranges, putting a special price on box as in the photo and on the cashier charge different with the silly reason (it’s not the same) it’s in the same place all together.
Has this place gone downhill!! It went from a 4star review to what I wish was a negative 1.

Make sure you watch every date very carefully, a lot of their product is right on the best before date. You might have 1 to 2 days if you are lucky!

Disgusting business practice!
Where is the manager?

They finally moved the berries in a fridge to avoid rotten fruits and flies, but the fridge is still not cold enough. Some items are always back orders (Planter’s peanuts and Carr’s crackers for example). Nice pharmacy and organic section. The flower department is ridiculously expensive. Some cashiers are rude and keep talking between them in front of you and ignoring you.

👍it is a great store,

You can find the lowest price in vancover for all items when they runing sale, even less than Walmart or Costco.
The regular price is reasonable too.
I do not like all store brands' products, but I do like their brand and have always had good experiences with "compliments" products.
I was really disappointed when they changed Airmiles to a new point system; not a big fan of the Scene point system, and it affected my choice to go to Safeway; I had a great experience with their Airmiles with Safeway, especially when they gave you double or triple points on dome event.

I hope they go back to Airmiles, which I doubt it!
I was never able to get a good withdrawal from the Scene point system so far, I have been a member of both point systems for over ten years.

Anyway this location is excellent store and clean, super helpful staff; free parking is a huge deal in downtown area
They offer warm food and soups, and there are Starbucks stands.

Thank you, keep up the good work
