Today Sunday I purchased 1 Sandwich Wrap Jerk Chicken for $6.79 + tax at around 7:45am.
I went to work and put the sandwich wrap into the cooler. At 10:30am I went to grab the sandwich from the cooler and the plastic container that came with it just opened completely, dropping the chicken wrap splattering the food all over the floor. Obviously the plastic container was not closed completely. The argument here would be that I must have jarred it loose when I was carrying it. I don’t think so, but I’m anticipating that’s what Safeway will say.

As a customer in the West end I'm not pleased with the way that they deal with safety issues at this branch Safeway. At the far end of the store near the southwest side you'll find two of the main doors that are supposed to be doors that are for going out are labeled in so all two doors on each side are labeled in yet there is a an exit sign saying that you can leave the building if you're in a wheelchair it makes it difficult to pull a door open when the door should be using its mechanism properly. The excuse that has been given that they do not comply with the fire department which I've complained to many a time going through 311 is that there's so much theft going on. My answer to this is to stop charging the prices that you are and stealing from your clients. To me that only makes people who are to disadvantaged want to take much more serious steps in numerous different cases this could cause harm to the employees because when you take something from somebody at a much higher price than you have to well therefore the results could be quite upsetting to store management and the employees who work at the store. number two it puts me at risk that if there is some crazy person that has decided that they've had a bad day and they have a weapon and they go to use it on a client I have no chance to escape and a wheelchair. It is amazing how these stores these big giant conglomerates of grocery stores get away with flagrantly skirting the law and deciding to do whatever it is they want to do. It is illegal for you to be closing your doors that are considered fire exit doors and the fact that you do this shows me that you have no concerns for the safety of your other patrons in the store who do abide by the rules. It shows me that all your concerned about is how much money is leaving your store but again and once again if there wasn't such a thing as shrink inflation or for the stores capacity to think about how much money they can get out of somebody's wallet before they leave then you wouldn't have these issues. I'm hoping it'll never be put up to the test but I'll tell you one thing right now and I give you plain notice if something happens to me in your store I will sue you and I hope you understand that I will take legal action against you and I will expect that the court would turn around and award me damages for any event or injury I might have and I would leave it up to my family to sue you upon my death if that's caused in your store because of your disregard for my safety

Decent prices, good store with a large selection.
Free parking below the store for up to one hour while shopping.

White the store was neat and tidy, we found Safeway expensive. The staff were not very helpful. We bought strawberry and by next it started to rot.

I love the Safeway I go to it on a daily basis. Anything I need I go there , it’s clean, friendly and reliable staffing. It has beautiful scenery while you shop the thing I didn’t like was that it’s got really dirty washrooms but that’s the only thing I can say bad about this Safeway!

Worst Safeway store Ive been to!
Rude security staff who are not trained properly. 👎🏻
Not enough staff/cashiers
Tills are super dirty 👎🏻
The one on Davie st is much better.

We visit Safeway on Robson monthly. Usually good, but fruits and vegetables can be iffy.
No big problems until the last trip. Got a coconut, was excited, but when we opened it at home, it was rotten and moldy as shown in the pictures—pretty disappointing.
