Reviews

It is a nice well designed and clean community Centre, would come back for the various activities where youth can hang out.

The disappointment level is to the top. The day before Mother’s Day they said it’s Mother’s Day next day we are most welcome to bring food. I got my 3 years old all excited about the celebration. We bake a cake together and made some samosa early in the morning. I walk in with food just for the reception lady to tell me if it’s gets too crowded she might aske me to leave in the middle of the party. As I did not register. Which they never told me about that I have to register for. I said I will just leave now as it will be embarrassing for me to leave in the middle of the class and celebration. My daughter was so heart broken. I left all the food I made and walked away. All the stuff have big attitude which I didn’t care about as my daughter was having fun there. But I won’t recommend anyone with self respect to go there.

Really liked visiting for the first time today and I look forward to going again. Enjoyed the free wifi, library within the building also is a huge bonus for me. Super clean and organized, bright, open indoor space and many activities, both quiet areas to work/study/read or areas more dense with visitors having fun doing sports or games, programming
There are friendly staff members at least for my visit they were open, communicative, clear and friendly, respectful. The commumity centre is great to enjoy by yourself as an individual or with your kids, with its family friendly environment, anybody can enjoy something. I noticed clean fresh access to fountain water and water bottle refill station, and the bathrooms were well kept and often cleaned throughout my couple hour long hangout here. The surrounding neighbourhood tends to be sketchy, sometimes dangerous, rough, etc and is an area in the city where the drug problems and homeless problem is really rampant so keep that in mind when visiting if youre not from this neighbourhood. I had an overall good experience and positive first impression of Wellesley Community Centre.

Without a formal tour of this new experience, the presence of swimming pool, gym, library, community rooms and store makes this place inviting...an information desk would make it even more so

Something for everyone! Great rates, convenient class times. Facility is very clean.

The neighborhood is lucky to have this community center. An easy location to get to for everyone, kids, adults, seniors.
Has a run/walk track.

My kids go here for swimming lessons and they love it. I love the general changerooms so both my kids are in the same space. There are individual changerooms within the general one so everyone can change in private. The pool is large enough that the classes each have their own space. There is a very reasonable parking lot below the building that makes it handy especially in the winter the kids don't have to trek outdoors to the car with wet hair.

Love it! Great people, nice staff, amazing opportunities to do different sports and activities. Definitely recommend

Good place for a lot of activities choices.
Would love to go back there 😃

It’s a great facility but they put tiny babies in the large, cold pool even though they have a small, warm pool. They keep it for bigger kids which I understand but why put little guys into the cold pool? It’s dangerous and unpleasant for them. Schedule classes for 6+ month babies at a different time then so we can use the warm pool.
Every single baby in our class cried and/or turned blue within 15 minutes.
We complained to the supervisor but they didn’t care much. Just said that the other class with older kids is full.
Please do better until someone baby gets hypothermia!

It is a very excellent place for kids to learn and grow positively.

Great place for the family. Nice indoor track and clean facilities. Outdoor playground and splashpad. Indoor pool, recreation rooms. Basketball, raquet, badminton to name a few. You can also book birthday/private events.
It does get extremely busy, hard to avoid...

Super friendly receptionist! The facility is a bit older, but still quite popular. Affordable pricing for the community and a lot of sports programs are available (pool and courts).

The surrounding compound wasn't as clean as expected. The residents are friendly, but not paying attention to the recent sounds emitting from nowhere unknown for awhile though they claimed the sounds are like machines running all days/nights from the South side of the building.
Does TCHC/TSCH cares ? Who's NICE ? Is this poor neighborhood, majority are minorities refrain from complaint or just don't care what's going on in the surrounding/environment?
The Community center is an excellent place for the young and elderly. The programs and events are highly meaningful for the minority as well as a helpful approach providing the users with numerous opportunities. I think, this center should allow users to do photocopy and use of computer similar to a home library. Then, it's a perfect Community center for the millenium kids/youngsters in this neighborhood. Think about it.

My kids loves to go. Everyone are very kind.

Fun place to go with the kids or alone. They have tons of programs at an accesible price.

Staff very friendly, nice community centre with lots of free programs.
You get the homeless person here and there but even they're well mannered and polite, so no complaints.

They offer leisure swim one time a week literally for a hour and a half. I’ve been going to this pool for years and they never ever ever ever open the tot pool for the kids. They have parents with kids standing in the entry way/accessible ramp of the pool with our kids .. as a single parent of 2 small kids I can’t possible carry around my 3 year old the whole time. They had it open today for a prior program and forgot to put the “mechanical problem” sign back up, so we went in.. there was toys etc in it so obviously in use for a program prior .. they came running, no cant use that one we don’t have enough lifeguards. Like literally hasn’t been open once since I been coming here. Counted 8 lifeguards on the floor. Couldve easily dedicated on guard for the tot pool and one for the slide, which is also never open. Your taxpayer dollars pay for this.. they say they are inclusive but feels alot like they are not including the kids and babies. We deserve better than a tiny corner .. signed an annoyed mom

This community centre has an indoor pool with set hours for various types of swimming/age groups as well as an outdoor pool open from Canada Day to Labour Day from noon to 8pm (this one has no restrictions on who can swim when). The outdoor pool has a gradual, shallow entry with a cornered off deep end where small kids are not allowed and there is a slide and life guards. There are gender specific change rooms as well as one open to all which is very convenient if you visit as a multi-gendered family. The City of Toronto website lists hours for the indoor pool and what programs are available at the community centre.

Very family friendly centre

The entrance employee she doesn't know how to do customer service.

Facility is bright and spacious. I love that there’s a cafeteria for people to hang out and socialize. I do feel that more time should be allocated to cleaning the facility especially the track and the area near it. Always fuzz balls rolling around. It’s not a good clean breathing environment conducive to good health. I feel discriminated against because of my age. I was told that I can’t be a member unless I’m 60 years old. I am retired and feel that since this is a community centre there shouldn’t be an age restriction.

Pool is cold, lacks chlorine, Recent security measures are ridiculous. Need to show ID 3 times by the time you enter building. This is excessive to say the least. Not to mention

We used the Outdoor Skating Rink. Benches right beside the rink. Shovels are kept there to use to keep the ice clean. The other people using the rink were couteous. Nobody skating crazily. Kids learning to skate along with a few mixed ages playing "shinny". Good times.

Awesome pool! Went here about a year and a half ago for an outdoor swim. It was really fun and enjoyable :))

Came across the nicest associate named Lucas the other day, he was very polite, well mannered and helped me out with a few machines wasn’t familiar with. He’s awesome!

If I have to say one thing about this place, it's DISGUSTING. In every sense. The teachers hate being there but they're acting. There is half an hour of play time together and they sing 3 songs and send everyone off with a very rude bye bye. It takes 10 minutes. It's never fun inside, it's old and dirty. When I was worried about my baby's hygiene, they said no, but after that, something happened to my baby's eye. When a visiting nurse comes from outside, they take him in with his shoes on and my baby is crawling in the same place, but according to them it is clean. During the party, mothers make and bring things and help without using gloves. I never ate anything from there. I am by no means a racist person, but I felt like I was being racist there by the Black teacher. The black woman is so careless and constantly making loud warnings that I never liked her. The only good thing there is the secretary she. Never leave until the team changes. and Canada needs to stop paying there..

The pool is new within the last couple of years. Similar to many city owned facilities it doesn't take long to get run down. The lack of maintenance and cleaning shows everywhere. The worst is the change rooms. From roaches in the showers to floors that have clearly never been washed (so many hair balls) and lockers filled with trash. Might not have to raise taxes so high if took care of things a little better

Great for party events. Very clean throughout.

Called in to inquire about membership packages to using the gym and apparently wasn’t using the verbiage they use to understand what I meant. The girl on the other line said “it’s the weight room, not gym”. Are you over 60 or under 60? It’s weight room. That’s what we call it. Didn’t have to get all upset over wording. Then asked about pricing and she said she didn’t know and to google it and check their website. Uhm, I wouldn’t call and inquire in if it was on your website now would I? I’m actually quite young, I didn’t know they called gym “weight room” either way, didn’t have to get all mad. I don’t know if she’s new or not, but definitely does not know how to deal with people. Clearly hates being there and hates people. She needs training.

Weight is WAAAY too small for the location/number of people using the facility. It's basically impossible to use the gym anytime after 6pm.

Sorry, not happy at all, thought I should share because I notice many places following this pattern. The "teachers" scold the children very strongly, then strongly repeat themselves 3 times, and sometimes simultaneously make strong intimidating eye contact, as if this is some type of special strategy. If these are the techniques they learn, this is very strange. I feel like they are encouraged to behave in this manner by the schoolboard and it is worse now than ever before. And the parents just watch their children get mistreated and silently stand around. Most of the time these children are acting completely normal and not doing anything wrong. Even the developmentally delayed children at the smallest "mistake" are strongly scolded. Seems very uneducated. The atmosphere is depressing and lethargic, the "teachers" seem also to have brain fog. There seems to be "good cop bad cop" theme with one teacher behind the other yet both complicit. The "teachers" bad talk other parents and children to other parents. Remember these are all children under 6 years of age, mostly very young. This is supposed to be a fun environment to warm them up for school. The "teachers" are only preoccupied with controlling the children and parents. If they sat there and did absolutely nothing the environment would be much better. Sad that their contribution is mostly negative. Children are not allowed to play with 2 different types of toys at the same time. They are also not allowed to bring toys from one area to another area. 🙄 sometimes they are not allowed to play with a toy for no reason or it is taken away for no reason. If they lose interest in a toy for a moment they are expected to put it back righ away and the parent cannot do it for them. During circle time they are not allowed to bring a toy with them even if it's just a toy baby they want to hold while sitting down. The strict rules for circle time make it very strange. Is it a ritual? All the children and parents are expected to do the exact same thing at the exact same time. Participation is mandatory the entire time. If the child loses interest and walks away it is not acceptable. If the child wants to be interactive and walks up to the object being pointed to, they are told to sit down. If a child wants to pick up a toy they are not allowed. All this confuses the child's mind very much. Especially when they are not doing anything wrong and they are told that they are. Then they don't know what to do and behave badly.
I had one very creepy experience. The last 30 minutes while the kids were finishing their snack, my child went to look out the closed window. He climbed a 2 foot thing attached attached to the wall to look up. A supervisor (a small lady) popped up out of nowhere pointing at him telling him to get down repeatedly (while I was already there telling him the same thing). When I told her that I can tell him myself she was saying how dangerous it is and anything could happen while the teacher was rolling her eyes at me for SPEAKING. As I said, she popped up out of nowhere, she was not in the room the whole day, was she watching us through a camera? She (the supervisor) went to sit at her spot for the last 15 minutes with only 4 children in the room, with 2 teachers already present and 4 parents. Apparently that is not enough supervision while they are sitting there eating snacks. Very strange and creepy. I get home with headaches. I only went 2 or 3 times. I could not force myself to go again. I do not understand how parents enjoy this oppressive environment. This should not be tolerated. I'm sure there is much more i forgot to mention. I will continue to look for another centre where my child is cherished and appreciated, not treated like a criminal. I'm sure there is at least one centre out there that could be leading as an example, or are these kinds of environments necessary for some entities to feed their low vibrational life force while imposing it self-righteously on every one else?

Facility is great. And the indoor swimming pool would be great and deserve five star, if people used shower before going into the pool. There are hundreds of people going through the pool each day and very few of them use shower before going into the water, despite the instructions. One of the reason for this may be that there are only three showers for both men and women to use standing next to each other. You can imagine the dirtiness of water and the amount of bacteria swimming with you.

Our group rented the pool for a private swim. The WARM hot tub's jets were not working and the steam room was also out of commision.
Like really! Get your act together and provide working facilities for all your users.

I will definitely NOT visit drop-in sports again here. It is disorganized, chaotic and TOO many people. I had a chance to play two volleyball matches each literally 5 minutes for 3 hours! It's not worth it. So sad, that there's not enough games in downtown Toronto. And when I tried to call the center they didn't really want to talk to me.

We by membership especially use swimming pool but time options is not comfortable for full-time workers and for line sweem work only 2 line Mondays Wednesdays and Fridays with many people it's not comfortable

I have such a great time swimming here. The staff are super helpful and friendly. Facilities are clean and adequate.
However, DO NOT keep any valuables in the change room locker. Even when locked, your stuff can still be stolen by some strangers.

One of the cleanest and well maintained community centers in Toronto. A lot of programs offered and staff are attentive and kind. The surrounding park is also amazing place to be plus a lot of basketball courts outside.

I have primarily used the swimming pool both my kid and myself. Experience has been amazingly good. Well trained and knowledgeable trainers. Nice management and above all very neat and clean.

Place is corrupted and crooked. A while ago when you were booking an event room for celebration they were banning you from bringing your own food for kids, instead urging you to buy overpriced food from their own indoor vendor. So you first pay for 2 hour room rent and also for food that goes to garbage because nobody wants to eat that. This is not a private place where you free to create you own rules - this is a municipal place where we pay our thousands of dollars by municipal tax. Legal contract between food vendor and their management or just cash under the table?

Great gym, great group exercise classes, pool(s), and fantastic swim lessons program. Friendly staff throughout.

Clean, well-preserved, bright, full of amenities, spacious, this place is amazing! Staff is welcoming

We come here for swimming and music lessons for our 6 year old daughter. She thoroughly enjoys the classes. Especially the music class.
We like that the location isn’t too far from where we live and that we can walk here. People also just cannot walk in without being buzzed into the building. The change rooms also have a code to prevent unauthorized entry.
I haven’t dealt with the staff personally as my wife deals with them. From what I’ve seen, they are fairly helpful.

It is a beautiful community center with great amenities and a big parking lot.
Also accessible by public transport.

Wow what a great facility. Most places you need a membership but here you can pay as you go. I went for a leisure swim. The change rooms were nothing special but they were very clean. I often feel a bit gross in pool change rooms but not in this one. Showers actually have great pressure and good temperature regulation. The heated pool has an amazing ramp so if someone has mobility issues it's fantastic. It's shallow except for one area where most people seem to gravitate too so the can get their bodies under the nice warm water. There are a lot of swim/exercise aid equipment available as well. Beautiful place. I'll be going back for sure. And only $5 and $4.50 for seniors.

The heart and hub of the community Servicing senior citizens adult and Youth in the neighborhood these are some of the programs that you could have access to if you're living in the Spadina Dundas or Spadina area to Bathurst please check this place out community community that's what it's about

Great

I was attending a Mental Health First Aid training and just spending the day there, I would like to add the place is clean, organized and seems to be a great community centre.

Haven’t used the services just was passing by the centre and decided to check it out inside. Looks good to me. Looks like a family-friendly location. The only thing I didn't like is the 5-6 super high guys at the back of the building.

One of the staff there is horribly rude. I go in to swim and buy a membership, but the swim is cancelled because the lifeguard didn't show up. That's fine. Spend a few minutes trying to clarify that I will buy a membership but before I do I just want to make sure the schedule that is online is accurate,
I already stepped aside to let the other people in line scan their membership for the gym once I was told the swim was cancelled, so there was no one else in line behind me.
She spoke very loud (not yelling, but might as well have been) and would cut me off when I was trying to confirm her answer.
I tried to explain if lifeguards not showing up is not a regular thing, I'll still buy a membership.
Staff: "I've already answered your question. Ok? Bye now!" *Literally doing the shooing away hand motion*
Was just trying to understand the situation and get a membership. Not sure this is a positive place to spend any time. There is a free pool across the street, hopefully a more pleasant environment.

University Settlement
It's a big and convenient place inside the Grange Park.
Swimming 🏊♂️ pool and swimming classes are available for children and youths.
There is a big saloon for playing Futsal and basketball and handball and some indoor games.
Some other classes like language classes are contributed there.
A little game place is located outside the Settlement for children under 6.
The gym salon is available.

Great community centre in my neighborhood. I enjoy their lane swim in their clean pool with adjoins showers and change room. I also use their gym for badminton and pickle ball drop in play. Their gym is also well equipped at affordable fees.

This is a huge and comfortable community center with salted-water pool and sauna.
There is waterpolo for kids at that place. They enjoy swimming and playing waterpolo games.

I was visiting the Grange Park with my kids and thought of exploring this place. I entered the premises and saw a nice large pool inside. The lady just would not let me even view the pool area. Gave me a piece of paper that had "free" written at many places including the "leisure swim" for "community. But this nice lady would not let us even check it out. I thought of "buying" membership but then decided against it. If this is an NGO supposedly for the "community", it is a place for a select few. Even 5 or 7 star hotels are better, at least they don't prevent anyone from exploring their lobby, pool, restaurants etc. I was disappointed.

Nice place for jews and isreali community services 👌

Great recreational for toddler, pleasant management staff

And this place individual STAFF IS VERY VERY RUDE

This is the best community centre. It is clean and well maintained. Additionally, I really liked the instructor, Pauline. She takes her time to go over the exercise steps or modify it if I had difficulty.

I register my kids here every summer. Amazing staff and location. Surrounded by amazing parks, Humber River trail, Tennis court, etc.

Spacious and very clean, good for kids indoor and outdoor play. Nice basketball courts indoors and quite a few outdoors as well. We also like that the outdoor playground facilities are spreadout instead of being too close together like some other kids playgrounds, so it's mostly not too crowded at any one.

Beautiful space. Well designed. Lots of parking.

Very well maintained, plenty of parking and plenty of meeting rooms

A community centre / fitness facility that offers a wide variety of individual and group activities, all year round. Staff are friedly and helpful.
A good location, but on the smaller side compared to other City of Toronto Community Centres. Facilities include two pools (Indoor and outdoor), tennis courts, gymnasium, running track and a small weight room with weight and cardio equipment. In addition, there are many other rooms used for other scheduled or group activities.
The best way to book an activity is online, although the city website is archaic and not intuitive by today's standards. Bookings can be made via telephone, but this requires some patience.
The grounds are spacious and provide plenty of green space, as it is part of Eglinton Park. There is underground parking, that is quite inexpensive at $1.00/hr. There is direct access to the building without getting exposed to inclement weather. There are wheel chair accessible entrances and elevators for this multi-level facility.
This property backs onto North Toronto Memorial Arena.
ACCESSIBILITY: This is a two floor facility. There is an elevator that provides access from the underground parking lot through to the second level.

I just needed help to apply for PR, a very nice lady named Sonia helped a lot in this case . She is very hardworking, patient and kind. She is very punctual and helpful, I have not seen anyone like her who is committed to her work and clients. For the work that was done for me at this center for free, my lawyer asked for $ 1,500 to do it, which was not committed at all. Thanks to the help of Sonia and University Settlement. They are the best.

I came to know this place ever since we moved to Eglington area and I am extremely happy with what the place offered to my son who is 4yo. The associates are kind, attention to detail and are welcome to provide any help and information for all the concerns we raised, apart from teaching our kids different kinds of programs. My son has gain a lot of things ever since we started coming to this center and I recommend ever parent to have a visit to the place once the pandemic is over.
During the pandemic, the center also started providing an online session to kids of different age and parents also were given a chance to have their own time to discuss issues they have in regards to raising a child. My son and I are happy with what we have been given during the zoom hour. The program aimed to helping kids keep their social skills and encourage them to express their thoughts and that very much was helpful to my son who I thought quarantine was making him less active.
Massive shoutout to the stuffs, Zhila, Shemim, Marjorie and others who relentlessly caring for our kids.

It is a very nice centre. All the many meeting and conference rooms are very organized. The design of the building is extraordinary beautiful.

Basically a part of the Prosserman so read my review on that.

Food bank is great camp is great and provides good job opportunities for the youths in the community I think they can do better when renting out the centre to ppl living in the community the fee is too high and you dont get it for the entire day only half ..

I LOVE this place! ❤️ Have food bank that is wonderful. The staff is SO KIND! I love all the girls there.
Drop in for children with beautiful teachers handling the activities, a little toodles gym for the little ones, so entertain and joyful.
Different activities and nice environment.
Washroom of female are clean what is really admirable, because finding a clean public washroom in Toronto is very hard 😖
So if you want entertainment for your little ones this place is great!
Food bank is great! They give a LOT of good things.
Nice and kind staff ¿? Here for sure!
Thanks all of the people involved in this community center and congratulations for the great efforts. 👏👏👏

Very amazing staff also amazing teacher love Tai Chi

I brought my 3-year-old granddaughter to the class. It is a old, traditional Italian community center. The program was good, teachers are great and my granddaughter had a good time

My son has basketball sessions here. It's so accessible since the bus stop is just in front of it. Good waiting area and i saw different activities that can be done here. The playground outside the building is great too.

I love the cougar on 7th Street and 12th Avenue. I am concerned however re the dripping/ bleeding, It looks unfinished. Or am I wrong was she supposed to be wet? The garden below her has damage. As a condo owner in the neibourhood I do hope this is remediated and not left to the condo association that kindly permitted this project to grace their property..A well completed project encourages other condo associations to get on board with this project. We all want toend the careless graffiti in our neighbourhood. Excellently produced art work encourages this concept. The Mural Project that was done many years ago on 17th Avenue is a testament to this project in our community.

Learning center for the infants and toddlers.. They have different activities for kids. Staff are at time arrogant but kids will have fun time playing with other kids of their age..

Great building with friendly staff. The UJA is also an amazing organization.

Great community center Arranged Eid Milan Party celebration after Ramadan Kareem

Office building run by not for profit organization known as UJA (United Jewish Appeal of Greater Toronto) or also known as Sherman Campus. Houses different smaller tenants that assist mostly Jewish clients with Immigration, Child and Family Services, educational center for the Holocaust and many more. Also note that security here is tight, be prepared to be searched and have ID ready.

Great little facility at a fair price. I appreciated not having to go through the exhausting fitness centre sales pitch. It's simple and exactly as advertised and the staff is very friendly. I worked around the corner so it was perfect for morning or midday workouts. Your membership also gives you access to the pool, which is great! I would recommend this gym.
