A very nice place with a caring staff. Their menu is extensive and offers a wide range of Indian food. The flavors are great and it is beyond delicious.

A Cover Charge was added to our bill even though we arrived before 9pm Saturday night even though on their Web page it was stated “ no charge before 9pm”. We ordered Lumpia Shanghai, Chicken Wings which were both very salty and burnt. The Mixed Pancit had three pieces of shrimp, pork and chicken and extremely salty. All dishes were overpriced, quality and quantity were very poor. The drinks were definitely overpriced for a “Scarborough Bar”. The Cocktails were watered-down. The Servers were friendly but need more staff, the wait was long to be attended to.
Been to this place before a few years ago and had a bad experience, decided to try again but still no changes except in the decor.
I would never recommend this place for a night out, horrible experience. Don’t waste your money or time!

We've never eaten Filipino food but we"ll be back again.
The staff as well were totally awesome .

Absolutely adored the location, and luckily there was a car show outside. The cuisine was a highlight! The tocino sandwich stood out as an absolute delight, boasting an incredibly delectable filipino flavor.

Great tasting Filipino food. Well priced. My family and I enjoyed the food. Not a traditional table service restaurant. One orders and pays at the cashier then grab a table to sit at. Knocked off 1 star because it took so long to receive our food after we ordered. It took so unrealistically long to get our food. Other people there were also eagerly waiting for their ordered food. Would we return? Perhaps, if we aren’t so hungry; otherwise expect to wait 30 minutes for your food.
Just ate there for lunch today (Aug4), I've eaten at Perla's plenty of times however, today was a disappointment, I ordered the combo with lechon kawali amd veggie stew(pinakbet) was told extra $1 for lechon kawali - ok no problem. Right of I was skeptical because I was given the tidbits remainders of lechon it looked like it was leftovers because it was cut up already usually they would cut off a piece from the big piece of the lechon and give you about 5-7 pieces(depends on the weight) Nevertheless, after paying north of $18 with a can of coke the lechon skin was tough and rubbery not the crunchy skin that one would be accustomed to when ordering lechon kawali in fact, I really believe this was food from the last night. Case in point the colour of the meat was really off not the clear white juicy pork belly meat and the taste of the entire combo plate was really off. I suppose its a buyer beware philosophy - very disappointing normally I would give a comment to staff personally but, it seems this establishment doesn't care about food preparation and quality anymore - angry and disappointed spending my hard earned money and I get this in return. PAGNAT - (pangatlong init)

Found them at Barkarda Market. Still can’t believe I was charged almost $30 for 3 skewers (2 bbq sticks and 1 grilled longonisa- which was the frozen ones you find a grocery store- saw a guy opening the packages) the kicker— $6 dollars for a small cup of rice, that I think the price was made up on the spot because there was so much confusion on how to charge just rice. Service was also meh. My food was ready sitting on some table and no one told me until I asked. And some lady just pointed to it and said “yes”. Not even handed to me.

Food was hot and delicious. It may have been busy when I went ( 1:20 pm on a Sat) and after being seated we didnt get served for an hour. I think the moment you are ready, just get their attention so you can order asap. They were very sweet atleast.

As much as I want to give this restaurant a good rating as I think this has the best ambiance and Filipino decor in town, the food service is extremely poor. It was my first time here. I was greeted by a fluent English speaking waiter with an amazing personality (which wowed me). I ordered turunito (literally small as the name suggests) and halo-halo. The turunito came after few minutes but to my surprise, the portion was not justified for 9cad. I took it gracefully as I really liked the store decor. I was so amazed that I took a lot of pictures and did not realize 30 minutes had passed and I still did not get my halo-halo. The crew was reminded politely. 45 minutes had passed and the order was not in. I had to go to the crew area to tell them that I ordered halo-halo which can be easily prepared in 5-10 minutes. I was trying to convince myself to be more patient, but I couldn’t. I would say the halo-halo was very satisfying. However, the restaurant needs to improve their service. They were adequately staffed in my opinion so I don’t see why the service had to be that poor. My cousin who was with me at the time said she had a similar experience at the same restaurant years ago and promised herself not to go back there again. She only did because I begged her. 😅I hope this review will be helpful for the improvement of the restaurant. It has so much potential.

The atmosphere of this restaurant is what started off the experience on the right foot. Plants, decor and seating orientation helped to create the perfect ambience.

The service is where the restarting needs work. After about 10 minutes our table was ready to order… no one came to us after another 20 minutes and then took our order.

Putting the service aside, the food was FANTASTIC. I ordered the vegan Kamayan which had so many different options with its main protein being tofu. They did a great job with proportions, flavours and most importantly, sauces!!

Overall, I would 100% go back but hope the service and wait times was just a bad day and not common.

I really enjoyed how nice and crispy the pork was. I didn't really enjoy the soup too much but the meat was fine.

The gravy and the rice in the sizzling plate is great! Overall a pretty nice option for takeout.

Good place for home cooking after a long drive from Toronto. We got the Shanghai Lumpiang, Bihon Noodles, Garlice Fried Rice, and Beef Calderetta (as a shared plate). Place is clean and staff is friendly and helpful.

Lumpiang was nice and crispy, not too greasy. Size was right, not the mini size.

Pancit Bihon it was tasty with good presentation.

Star of the show was the calderetta…beef wasn’t too fatty. Just right.

Will be back
Been to this place thrice. I love their food. They make the best sisig. This is the place to go if you want to watch live bands. Reminds me so much of back home. I just wish they have more servers especially on the weekend as this place can get really busy, staff are friendly otherwise.

Older review from my Yelp:
Hands down one of the best -- if not the best, Filipino food place in Ontario. I try to travel all the way to their place, just so to satisfy my cravings for Perlas' authentic Filipino dishes. They sell out early though, and I always arrive late, so I was just able to get their already packed dishes to take home most of the time (as they were already cleaning up for closing).

So far, I was able to get from them:
Beef caldereta
Lechon
Pork belly lechon (with all the herbs!)
Ginataang bilo bilo
Bott ed atchara
Even their dried fish (tuyo) is perfectly (crispy) fried.

Also, people behind the counter are very welcoming, attentive, friendly, and always have a smile on their place.

Further, non-Filipinos alike line up to order from them. There was even one time that a non-Filipino walked up to them just to say that their food tastes really good.

Let us appreciate and continue to support extraordinary businesses like this.

Crispy pata is delicious but the only problem is that there will be some sections of the pork leg that will be not fried well so flabby and chewy wherein it should be firm and crispy. It happened 3 x to my take home orders so it is not a case of an isolated incident. Cooks there should pay attention or they will lose their best seller to the other rival Filipino restaurants in the area.
Fantastic food, melt in your mouth calamari, crunchy and juicy fried pork belly, perfectly seasoned fried chicken, perfectly cooked garlic fried rice, the pork lumpia were delicious and flavorful and the eggplant and tomato salad was just delightful and expertly seasoned. I thoroughly enjoyed my meal here! I will be back!

I ordered the batchoy and it was delicious! The broth had so much umami and there was a lot of beef in the bowl. I haven't had anything like this before so I really liked this dish. It's like the Filipino version of ramen.

The price point was a bit on the higher side but it's because this food stand is attached to a grocery store. It has similar pricing to Seafood City. My boyfriend got the tapsilog and he really enjoyed it. I would definitely come back if I do my groceries and want to grab some Filipino fare.

Bit disappointed, my first time ordering from there (afternoon on a weekday - not busy by any means). I should have taken the before photo of the lumpia I ordered for take out, when I bit into it it was undercooked (based primarily on texture, and appearance). I called and advised that I would be coming back and if they can replace it with a new one. When I came back, showed them the lumpia they agreed, and took it back. The photo below is what I received - which looks like a refried/ burnt version of what I returned.

Giving it a 2 star because the sisig is decent and enjoyed eating it. Recommendation to their service staff, when a customer has to come back and return food, wait again for the food they already paid + tipped for, consider compensation through food or something on the house to offset dissatisfaction.
The appetizer is sour soup, top notch. This was my first experience with Philippine food and I am ready to try more. Flavorful, colorful and interesting. Some difficulty communicating with some of the staff but regardless very nice. Would definitely recommend to try one of the combos. It's fun, sharable and it feels quite homely. Would go again next time I'm around!

Delicious authentic Filipino food in Coquitlam! 👌🏼This is one of three Filipino restaurants I dine at in the Greater Vancouver area. The second is Kulinarya’s commercial location 😁 Fantastic quality, generous portions, attentive service, and they have vegan options! 😍 The space is laid back and relaxed. The interior reminds me of a cool Philippine store/cafe. First time at this location and had an enjoyable experience 👌🏼
Overall great experience! I really liked the rustic aesthetic, felt very close to home. Food was great!
This was my first time trying Filipino food at a restaurant. I loved the experience, and the staff was so friendly and nice. My absolute favorite was the milkfish sisig. It was creamy, and I loved the fish as well. I loved how all the flavors were strong and rich in umami. I wasn't much of a fan of the tres leche, but I was absolutely in love with their Halo Halo, except I struggled handling it by myself. Bring a group of people so you could try a variety of menu items. Their menu literally accommodates different diets as well, which is a bonus. Definitely would come here to try their kamayan as well.

Great food, great music, great vibes. Staff seems to really enjoy working there. You can tell so much time and effort has been put into curating the menu and the environment of the resto. Came with a pinay friend for brunch and we had the tocilog and the lechon and waffles and would absolutely recommend both. Also really recommend grabbing a calamansi if you want a full Filipino experience! Will absolutely be back and can’t wait to try to dinner menu. Phenomenal from start to finish and a must-visit in Montreal.

We were driving around town so hungry and unsure of what we wanted for dinner when finally we decided nothing feels more like home than Filipino. We checked out Cuisine de Manille for the first time and wow, our mothers would approve. Everything was delicious, fresh, and the portions were insane. The meal was definitely heavy but we loved that the food wasn’t over salted. We left so full and so so happy. The team and service were great, despite them looking busy with take-out orders. If I lived nearby, I too would be ordering from here often. So great. Thank you, can’t wait to be back sooon!

We had Kamayun for lunch. This dish is ultimate and served in a container on top of banana leaf.

Kamayun content is more than enough for 2 people. It contains fried rolls, beef bbq, fried chicken, pork, shrimp, calamari fries, rice, veg bbq, salad etc.
This dish is very good and worth the price.

The only thing which we felt was not good is that most of the items are fried. So, we felt very heavy.

I had a great experience at this restaurant. It offers a great menu that tastes good. The staff is friendly and welcoming. I must add that their food portions are excellent. On the writting of this review, their food quality is perfect.

So far, I recommend this place 100%.
Ordered longsilog for take-out. Good Filipino food. It was a little bit greasy but it tastes really good. It was also packaged well.
We got to try Kamayan Feast (aka. Boodle Fight) at Kulinarya in Coquitlam. No plates or silverware. Just food, food, and more food piled upon some leaves. You use your hands to eat!

Feast is an appropriate term to describe our meal that night. On our table we had: Crispy Pata, Kaldereta, Adobo Chicken, Ginataang Kalabasa, Bangus Fried, Steamed Rice, Lumpiang Shanghai. Fried Sweet Potato, and Fried Plantain. The table was a mess but the leaves which were used to hold all the food on the table actually made cleanup very easy and quick. Our server picked up the leaves with all the food in it, and with seemingly very little effort, carried it away. The leaves basically acted as a tablecloth, so it was like lifting a tablecloth with all the food in it, and carrying it away. We were impressed by how quickly and easily the table was cleaned.

The feast wasn't over though because what would any feast be without dessert? Our feast included Halo Halo, so even though we were incredibly full already, we had to make room for dessert and stuff ourselves even more!

I can now check Boodle Fight off my list. Once was enough for me. It was an interesting experience but I really do prefer eating with utensils!

Some of the food was a bit of a hit and miss but overall the food was good. Bangus Fried (fried fish) was incredible! I would go back for that one dish alone, and could eat several orders of it all by myself. It was sooooooooo good!

Service: Good
Parking: Plentiful and free

Loved it! The atmosphere is great and they play good throwbacks (not too loud). The spicy mango cocktail is amazing and the food is tasty. I highly recommend the brussel sprouts, they were seasoned to perfection. Great service as well. Would recommend
I love love love love Junior! I have been here multiple times and the service is always quick and friendly. The food is amazing, and the portions are large (you will be full by the end of the meal)! The food is great, but the sauces they serve their dishes in is where the flavours truly shine. The cocktails are also amazing, you have to try the spicy mango cocktail.

The choice of music, 90s and early 2000s is great, and not too loud.

The only point I would note is that, maybe last time I went they were running a little bit low on the mango, so the mango salad contained a lot of « filler » veggies (in the past this wasn’t an issue). I’ll give them the benefit of the doubt for this time!

The pork sisig is superb. The pricing is reasonable for the quality. We were given such excellent service by the staffs. I have to say that I also liked the live band, while I sipped on my drinks.

I ate here when I was pregnant with my son and craving for Kare Kare. It’s kare kare pata I don’t eat the pata fat but I can live with a little bit of meat, vegetables and the sauce. The lady that served me gave me two pcs of pata with all fat and skin I requested for a little bit of meat and she gave me a look. When I finished she looked at my plate I guess to check if I really didn’t eat the fat…lol

Another experience I had also when I was pregnant, I called in advance to order pansit to avoid the waiting when I walked it no pansit ready. I knew who I spoke with on the phone and the other lady asked her. Apparently she forgot to place my order and she looked at me. No apologies no nothing. I ended up waiting for an hour. BTW while waiting they were also preparing for I guess a Boodle fight dinner. The all the food were being reheated in the microwave amd I know they charge a lot of money for a boodle fight dinner.

Since then I never go back.

I am invited to friend's birthday to Pinoy Pansitan.

I have tons of Filipino friends; and I ate at their places countless times. So I know what is Filipino food is.

So when I received the invite; I was told the place takes only cash or debit. Plus, the type of food that I would eat, will be my hand.

I am intrigued; plus I have experience to eat by hands since we are Indians and Bengali.

When I arrived, a long table was set up for 30 people. It is called a boodle fight, or in Filipino called Kamayan. The table was filled with banana leaves, and food on top of them. There were rice, chicken thighs, oysters, sausages, grilled fish (with bones), Chinese broccoli, eggplants, eggs, pork chops, shrimps, mango, cucumbers, tomatoes and strawberry...

So 30 people sat around the table, were eating with their hands in one big plate... ( banana leaf).

What an experience! The food tasted so good, that there no words to describe.

The service was amazing. People were friendly.

Guess what, it cost only 25$ per person. I highly ask everyone to experience this boodle fight... but go with a big gang... it's more fun.
One of our go-to Filipino restaurants in Toronto. We always order their grilled pork (1 order is enough for 2 people, very generous), sampaguita pancit (noodles), and their mixed vegetables. The food is really good and the prices are reasonable, if not cheaper. To top it off, exceptional customer service. The people who work here are all amazing and friendly. Don't forget to bring cash, if not, they accept debit as payment. If you want to pick up an order, try placing your orders online (their website) and pay from there.

The sarabasab dish was new to my palate and it was good. However,I didn’t like the garlic rice,it wasn’t the typical garlic rice back home. The pork sisig was a surfeit of crunchy pork skin. It would’ve tasted better if mixed with meat on it.

Amazing beef stew, I think is called calderata but not sure, incredible flavor and incredible price, server is friendly, they even have a convenience little store with filipino and general items, I took it to go but they have a few tables in case you want to eat there, next time I will try the empanadas, they look legit, I will be back for more.
This place never fails to impress. Best vibes you can get. Awesome team, awesome food and today we had the joy of being served by mini-super server! Definitely coming back here!
been years that i last tried their food and happen to be in the area and decided to have lunch. ordered calamari, kawali, and karekare. Food still taste delicious. Was surprised to know it is not owned by a filipino but food taste authentic filipino. Service is great!

Papa is the home of Crispy Pata and Turon. Periodt! The crispy pata is the best in the area by far. You can taste the flavor from the crispyness outside and into the meat. 5 stars are not enough for the crispy pata, I feel like it deserves more than 5 stars. The turon just hits the spot after eating your combo meals. Turon is not too sweet, just the right amount of sweetness. If you are visiting Montreal, whether you are from Canada or other countries, just give Papa a try. They have a wide selection of entrees and a very tasteful crispy pata. Oh and the staff are wonderful and very helpful. Restaurant Papa to the Moon!
First time to try a Filipino restaurant in Toronto. This place brings back memories of home. Not only the food are mouth-watering but the service are incomparable. The staffs are just so kind. The Best Crispy Pata I ever had. Coming from a tourist from the Bay Area California, this is so far the best I ever had. Nothing can compare even the one from the States. Other Filipino foods are also way too affordable. I will go back and dine in here over and over.
They serve delicious food. The sinigang na pampano is very good. Crispy pata is crispy and hot. The kare-kare oxtail is flavourful, the vegetables are cooked crunchy and not mushy. The rice is served steaming hot. The halo-halo has lots in it-ube yam, ice cream, corn, banana, coconut, kaong, nata and more. The place is really busy but servers are quick and attentive. The owner is friendly.

It's tucked away inside the Al Premium food court area and isn't open particularly late (closes at 5), so it's best to try and swing by during the earlier day time.

Ordered the Tapsilog from their all day breakfast menu and was thoroughly impressed! The cured beef was super flavourful, soft and well seasoned. The garlic rice was also a nice touch. Overall, the portioning of the food was generous enough that I was full and also enjoying bites of beef and rice together the whole time.

I also grabbed a large tray of their cassava cake and found it to be really delicious - a nice touch is that they also line the bottom of the tray with a banana leaf so you can catch just a hint of that when eating the cake too.

Hope to be back to try more from their menu!
Oh man the halo halo is actually the best I've had in Montreal. The dishes are great too. I'm going to be a regular!

Found Perlas at the Pinoy Night Market and got to try their pancit. It was the best pancit I've ever tasted!!

Definitely will be ordering more and will be back to share more of my thoughts.
We came here before heading back home. The moment we open the door, everyone was so welcoming. We’re a large group so they immediately got us set up in a long table. When we got seated, just warm people welcomed us. We were advised that since we’re a large group that automatic gratuity will be added and of course we said yes.

Our food was made fast, every single dish that we ate was a no frills just delicious food.

The Garlic rice brought memories, it’s made exactly how my Lola (grandma) makes it. I absolutely enjoyed every spoon of it.

Now the Lechon Kawali was for the win! I had to order another serving because it was that good.
It was crunchy and melt in your mouth, how they cook it that way just blew my mind. Its like Hong Kong style pork belly.

The Beef Bulalo hits the spot. The Pancit was all gone as well.

I would highly recommend this place when you’re in Toronto. I wish we have this place in Orlando.

Thomas & The Owner even checked on us and they’re hospitality is top notch!!

Tried Papa's for the first time yesterday and will say this is definitely my new favorite Pinoy restaurant in the city if you're looking for classic traditional dishes! The incredible flavors took me right back to Manila, and the generous portions make it hard to beat this amazing value. Will definitely be ordering again!

Wonderfully cute place with super friendly staff and service. Very welcoming and accomodating. Food was amazing. Great prices. Quality Filipino food that my picky Filipino family enjoys. Lovely place to eat at for a casual evening out and for unique and delicious cuisine. You'll feel like family when you're there.
Excellent food and tasty quality. We ordered food take out for a party and I ordered 1. Kare kare 2.fresh lumpia 3. lechon kawali 4.crispy fried shrimp.

I will definitely order from here again. Pearl was very nice and even help bring our trays to our car. 10/10

This was a little bit of a miss when it came to our bulalo. Really not happy with the broth. The content is a few veggies and chunks of meat. I was really expecting meat on the bone (maybe oxtail). The fried fish was soo dry, but that's what you get when it is overcooked and reheated. Good papaitan, but that's it. I was really looking forward to eat here. Maybe our expectations were too high, since it's our first visited pinoy restaurant in Montreal. We'll try going here again some other time, see if it's better then.

My husband and I had lunch here! The crispy pork rice is my favourite. My husband enjoyed the beef mami (noodles). The quality of the noodles is unexpectedly good, the beef broth is a little greasy thou. The dessert Ube Halo Halo is amazing, full of toppings and flavour!

First time buying pork lechon in this store and all I can say is we are disappointed. We ordered this for NYE and it turned out to be raw/undercooked. We ended up not eating it, concerned we might get food poisoning. Thanks for ruining our new year’s eve. I won’ recommend this store and will not buy here anymore. Buy your pork lechon somewhere else.

We ordered roasted pig for NEW YEAR, and the roasted pig is undercooked. So I have to call and send some photos to the owner! Cause we are upset
We have visitors!! And we hadn’t eaten lunch cause we were expecting that we are going to have a good dinner!

So I have to send a photo and call the owner! She asked me if I want 50$ refund and then we can cook the undercooked pig or they can pick it up tomorrow and refund us! Seriously!! Its so upsetting! We have to go to tnt to buy something to cook! What a waste of time, effort and gas to to get there at their store! I even insured my car for one day! Just to pick up my order!!!! I DONT RECOMMEND THIS KABAYAN FIESTA.

WE ORDERED LECHON FOR NEW YEARS EVE AND THE ONE THEY GAVE US IS UNDERCOOKED. WE OFFER A 50% REFUND IN EXCHANGE OF RECOOKING THE FOOD BECAUSE OUR GUESTS ARE EXPECTING IT OR A REPLACEMENT BUT THEY SAID NO. THEY WANT THE LECHON BACK WITH A FULL REFUND SO WE ARE LEFT WITH NO MAIN DISH ON NEW YEARS EVE DINNER AND HAD TO GO TO TNT TO BUY COOKED FOOD!! NOT WORTH IT. DONT WASTE YOUR MONEY. WILL GO TO HEALTH INSPECTOR AND HAVE THIS CHECKED. HOPEFULLY THEY'LL BE CLOSE!
I have been craving Filipino food and a few of my friends all recommended this place. Definitely did not disappoint! The food was tasty and the portions are huge! Staff were friendly. This place gets packed, so in order to seat people, they kind of rush you out as soon as you're finished so they can turn your table around. I'll definitely come back for more pancit and Kare Kare.

They say that small restaurants have great food for cheap and that it would blow your mind. Most of the times you get disappointed but that was not the case with ttbis small family owned restaurant. They were very helpful, they explained to me each dish. For 10$ you get a very filling meal with a tastes that you would never expect. Yes indeed it would help to have a place where all the prices are written but if not the experience itself was amazing.
It's affordable , their food here is good. They offer as combo, two different menu and rice plus drinks, Their desser is yummy, yhey offer also bubbble tea and the halo halo as we Filipinos name it .
It is licated in Victorua Road and it easyto find too.
Best cuisine, ideal for family and one of my go to Filipino restaurant. Everyone is so warm and welcoming at this establishment. Busy at meal time of course but the wait time is short, very efficient and never been disappointed. I order take out usually, the assorted meat platter is the best, feeds 5-6 peeps, great staff and lots on the menu to choose from.
Went on week lunch time
Had rice with some kind of beans on top with 2 stick of pork and a slice of eggplant for 10$
It was quite basic and plain for 10$, also as there was no menu i actualy had no idea of how mich it was gonna be.
IMO, for 2 or 3$ you can get something much better within 1 street from there

We have never ordered Filipino Fusion so we decided to stop by Bangku on the way home and try it, the atmosphere was electric inside and made me feel like I was outside at a street market, I loved the way they had it setup inside ... the food was fantastic and I enjoyed trying both the pork and the beef meals that we got, would recommend and go there again for sure !!!

I wanted to try something new and I noticed this highly rated Filipino food takeout/restaurant not far from my neighbourhood. It's a cozy spot with a few low benches and tables for eating in. There are photos of all the menu items on the front of the counter and walls, giving the Tagalog and English names of each dish. The person behind the counter was very pleasant and helpful. The price was good. I tried the beef pares silog and the sweet pork silog with rice (which comes with two eggs on top and small side of something similar to coldslaw with a vinegar taste) both dishes were tasty. The beef was delicious. The eggs and rice were good, they have that slightly more authentic flavour than plain eggs and rice youd make yourself (maybe its fish oil?). I want to go back and try new dishes! There was a short line on a weekday evening. The wait is 10 minutes or so for the food. I later learned from my coworkers the next day that the silog was something normally only ordered as a breakfast food. But I thought it was good for dinner anyway!

Very good, traditional Filipino food that's freshly cooked. Just needs to keep the tables wiped clean. Prices went up about 15% but still way cheaper than others in the area. Prices are reasonable. Lomi was great as usual.
No menu. You pick two dishes from behind the counter, and then either rice or noodles. I came around supper time, and there were about ten choices available. $10 tax included. Bar and karaoke available. Dishes are tasty and authentic. I tried the pork afritada and spring rolls, with rice. Good food for the price.

Small place but big enough for 1 large group. We took the special boodle fight and food was great. Be aware they don't have high chair for baby/toddler.
