Magnificent roman architecture that has been around closed to 2 century though no actual date been recorded. To get a good photo of it, climb up the stairs from the site of the plaza nearby.
Very disappointing: there was a long queue at the entrance and not much to see when you finally get inside. Also in the pictures with water, it looks way better than it actually is. There are many better things to do in Madrid so, especially if you will have only a short stay in the city, skip this place.
NOT WORTH IT, even if the entrance is free.

Visiting the Acueducto de Segovia was a truly captivating experience that transported me back in time to marvel at the ingenuity of ancient engineering. This iconic aqueduct, located in the charming town of Segovia, Spain, left a lasting impression on me with its awe-inspiring architecture and rich history.

One of the most remarkable aspects of my visit was the presence of thousands of swallows in the area during the morning. These graceful birds added an element of enchantment to the setting, darting and swirling around the arches in an almost choreographed dance. Their presence made the Acueducto de Segovia even more enchanting.

Walking along the cobblestone streets surrounding the aqueduct, I couldn't help but imagine the countless stories and historical events that this impressive structure had witnessed over the centuries. The Roman aqueduct has stood the test of time, remaining remarkably well-preserved, and its significance has led to its recognition as a UNESCO World Heritage Site.

For those who appreciate history, architecture, and the beauty of nature, the Acueducto de Segovia is an absolute must-visit. The combination of ancient engineering excellence and the ethereal presence of swallows in the morning creates a unique and unforgettable experience. It's a destination that allows you to step back in time, appreciate human achievement, and connect with the beauty of the natural world.

Wow, the architecture of this building is amazing!! It's so huge. It holds up to 23000 people and is the biggest arena in Spain! It's a beautiful building! I didn't take a tour as there was no bull fight going on till next year. Otherwise, you can visit the museum and the arena inside. It costs 16 euros for adults and 6/7 euros for children. The view of this building was breathtaking. We walked around it, and it came to my attention that the bulls are inside, I smelt their poop!! Haha. It's definitely worth visiting.
Very beautiful curch, you pay 10 euros for full access (includes the roof with a nice view)
You buy the tickets at the entry

The temple is set high up on a hill and therefore the views from here are great, especially of the Palace. There was a long queue to enter intro the temple and I understand that although it is free to get in, the visit is timed to 15 mins and they only let a certain amount of people in at the same time .. Would defiantly recommend to visit the Temple. You are not allowed to walk around the various parts however as there are Securtiy to ward you off but you can walk around it and view From all angles

Was very nice, located in a park, you can walk the grounds but only a couple of people at a time, there was a line when I went. It didn’t take too long. Was in very nice condition, area was nice and clean. The staff were very friendly and helpful; would definitely recommend checking it out if you’re in the area.
This is a popular touristical spot for a great photograph. Still, it's a wonderful reminder of the engineering might of the Roman empire and I always come back for that memory. You Will no doubt enjoy walking around the neighborhood and up the hills to take in the sights and to take a bite at one of the many restaurants specializing in suckling, lamb and pig. Vegetarians can enjoy a custom salad with some of the best tomatoes around. Don't miss out on some of the best chocolate milk you can have anywhere.
Nicely managed and I went to see horses as well which are used while bull fighting play. Most of the time play happens Sunday evening or you can watch VR show as well, Also you can visit the museum which is free and don't click pictures or videos it's prohibited and you should avoid doing it.
Very well preserved considering that the Aqueduct was built 2000 years ago. Very pleasant walk along the structural on cobblestone streets. And, a walk up the stairs to the wall of the city presents great views. Look carefully at the doors to all the buildings. So many are original carved wood doors.
Lovely open Plaza with restaurants- almost all with outdoor seating.
It was a unique experience watching the matador battle the bulls. The seating is horrible and much too tight to be enjoyable at all. Smoking, spilled drinks, sitting practically on top of one another. I was happy to get out of there and have some space to breathe. Wonderful to see the culture of Spain, less so to actually be in the stands of the bullring packed like sardines!!

It was a beautiful to see the structure. You need tickets to go see inside the tomb. There was slight queue. But No one is not allowed to step foot into an enclaving there. The surrounding park is well shaded with trees. Perfect for an evening stroll, sitting or walk with your pet. I enjoyed listening not a talented trumpeter perform while sitting on one of the benches
The Basilica of Santa Maria del Mar was built in the 14th century. It is made in Gothic style. It is distinguished by its exceptional height. The details are impressive, there is a lot of beautiful and magnificent artwork.

Nice, even interesting, but not stunning.
You can go there, if you have time, as it is located 5 minutes from Plaza Espana and 10-15 from the Royal Palace that you would probably visit.
Its park is nice as well with a beautiful view on the landscape and the Royal Palace.

My visit to the Temple of Debod was truly captivating. Depending on the time of day, there might be a small queue to enter, but the experience is well worth any wait. The temple's beauty and historical significance left me in awe.

The ancient Egyptian architecture transported me to a different era. The intricate carvings and well-preserved structure were a testament to the craftsmanship of that time. It's incredible to think that this temple has found a new home in the heart of Madrid.

The surroundings, with the serene reflecting pool and lush greenery, added to the enchantment. It's a perfect spot to take in the breathtaking views of the city, especially during sunset.

The informative plaques around the temple provided valuable insights into its history and how it came to be in Madrid. This added depth to the experience and made me appreciate the cultural exchange that brought the temple here.

If you have an interest in history, architecture, or simply want a peaceful place to relax, the Temple of Debod is a must-visit. It's a unique gem in the heart of Madrid, offering a glimpse into both Egyptian and Spanish history.
Very beautiful structure! It was one of the first things we saw when we got out of the train station, and it's a marvel to see - very big and grand! There's not much to do other than just marvel at the beauty of it, and it's located in the nice park area. Great to take some pictures of and pass by! And it's free to see.
Very neat experience, and such an awesome grand building / structure. We went here for a bullfighting show.

Note, I do not recommend children or people who don't like animal cruelty. This is a very authentic show, and they do kill the bulls in front of you!! We totally did not expect this, and it was sad, but it was a very unique experience and to see such a Spanish tradition.

Also, note, there are some cheaper tickets for this show, where you are placed in the sun. The sun hits you directly in the face and it's hard to see the show. But once the sun went down, it was perfect! The show started at 6:30, and the sun went down maybe around 7, so the remainder of the show was good for taking pictures and your eyes.

Overall, a great and unique experience, but just a little sad to see what they do to the bulls!

Very nice park with amazing views over the city and the Egyptian temple.

Great for a stroll during the day or sunset. Or even at night. Free of charge.

Didnt go into the temple but it looks better from afar but the views in the park are incredible.

Some cafes close by. Also connecting to another area that is worth exploring.
Beautiful area. Kids playing, great places to sit outside and eat. Loved it!
Underrated church.
For a cheap entrance you can have access to the rooftop and have a great view of Barcelona, alone. Nobody will bother you.

Might need a bit more support for restoration.

Amazing feat of engineering. Still very much intact. If you start just down from the bullring, you can walk alongside the Aquaduct into town. Then you can walk up steps on the opposite end of the square to the top if the aquaduct. Mid afternoon you can get photos of the sun shining through the arches.
It was a nice experience. I would recommend this place to visit if you are in Madrid.
Since I am not a fan of this sport, I did not pay much attention to the audio guide. The architecture is spectacular and picturesque.

Las Ventas Bullring is a must-visit in Madrid, whether you're a bullfighting enthusiast or simply seeking a unique cultural experience. The architecture is impressive, and even when there's no bullfight, exploring this historic venue offers a fascinating glimpse into Spanish tradition. A memorable experience for all visitors!

No doubt, this is one of the top 3 sites not to miss in Segovia.
Although I'd strongly recommend to visit the Alcazar and the Cathedral first and leaving the aqueduct for the end, before taking the bus (11,12) back to the train station.
The old city is off course charming and to reach those landmarks you'll stroll in the narrow medieval streets and enjoy its special atmosphere.
With Toledo, it is definitely the best day trip from Madrid!

Would suggest you think carefully before attending a bullfight as this is the real deal. We enjoyed the spectacle of the parade and the theatrics of the event and just finding out about a tradition in Spain. However if you don't believe in the sport of killing animals then don't go because it seems that tourists are keeping this alive, there actually weren't many locals there. Once was enough for us and after the first couple you get a bit over the whole thing.

I was absolutely mesmerized by the aqueducts of Segovia during my recent visit. The grandeur of this ancient engineering marvel is truly awe-inspiring. The precision with which the massive granite blocks fit together, creating a bridge that has stood the test of time for centuries, left me speechless. The history and significance of the aqueducts, dating back to Roman times, added an extra layer of fascination. The sight of water flowing through these arches, standing tall against the backdrop of the city, is a sight to behold. Whether you're a history buff or simply someone who appreciates architectural wonders, the aqueducts of Segovia are an absolute must-see.
Amazing spot to visit. During day or night. Obviously is free and just to mention if you are planning to go at night make sure to go before midnight, since they turn off the lights at midnight and the arc is dark.
It has faciating views from the tiny streets of Gothic Quarter. We loved it. After 6 pm it is free to puclic to go and see inside. There are also nice tapa bars around it.

We took a day trip to both Toledo and Segovia, and between the two of them, we much preferred Segovia. The aqueduct is massive, much bigger than I expected, and creates a striking image with the town scenery in the background. There are no entrance fees or lines necessary, and many restaurants are available around the aqueduct. Overall, the aqueduct is what makes Segovia unique (and my personal favorite day trip from Madrid). If you visit Segovia, it's impossible to miss--also because it's the first thing we saw when we drove up.
The basilica of Santa Maria del Mar in Barcelona, also known as the "cathedral of La Ribera", is one of the most perfect examples of Gothic style architecture due to its harmonious proportions and the serenity of the ensemble.
It is a very nice square and architecture. If you visit when the sun shines and the colors are vivid, you can take great pictures. We also recommend spending time at the bar across the street with a beer or sangria. There is not much shade, so be careful of the heat on a very sunny day.
Stunning building with an eerie atmosphere. The sculptures and ceiling art was particularly interesting. I'm confused at the pricing, however. We entered through the door at the back with no charge, yet at the front there's a kiosk where you must pay.

If you are in Segovia, you cannot miss a stop at the aqueduct. It is an amazing structure, definitely worth the visit. We were in town late June during the festival of St. Peter. There was a lot of activity around the area of the aqueduct. Either way , make sure you don't miss out on this experience. Enjoy y'all!

Pretty massive gate and a nice structure. Nothing too unique here.
Beautiful location to walk around. Easily accessible by metro and bus. We saw some outdoor musical performances and reminded me of Washington Square Park in NYC.
Recently renovated basilica church. It will cost you 8 Euro to enter and a couple more if you want to access the roof. The church is dark and has sparse decoration outside of the stained glass windows. The entire interior is faced in stone, no plaster, no frescoes or murals. There is not a whole lot of natural light and the sculptural detail is minimal. It creates a really austere and forbidding filling. In the end this church looks a whole lot like the Barcelona Cathedral and Santa Maria del Pi basilica.
2min visit.
Pretty. Nice little park to walk around.

In the Comic Book Quarter if you like DC/Marvel...check out Norma Comics just up the road.

You've gotta check out this awesome local park that's got a real Egyptian temple right in Spain! How cool is that? The Egyptian government gifted it to the Spanish folks, making it one unique spot. The atmosphere is totally easy-going and pleasant, and both locals and tourists love to kick back and enjoy the breathtaking sunset in this magical setting. It's a must-visit place that's bound to leave you in awe!
Beautiful but really small basilica. I'd totally recommend climbing up to the roof to see the view of the city - the rest just feels like any other church, but the view is stunning and what makes it what it is
A Gothic Masterpiece!

The Basilica of Santa Maria Del Mar in Barcelona is a breathtaking display of Gothic architecture. Its soaring columns, intricate details, and captivating stained glass windows create a serene and awe-inspiring ambiance.

Stepping inside is like journeying through history, feeling a deep connection to the past. Whether you're an architecture enthusiast or seeking a moment of tranquility, this basilica is a must-visit in Barcelona.
Beautiful monument in Barcelona which is possible to see when you're going by street.
The story of this is different compared to other triumphal arches that you can admire around the world: no celebration of battles won but a quite recent Universal Exposition in Barcelona.
The square is very nice with restaurants and bars all around it, a couple of playgrounds and the monument to the heroes of 1808 uprising against the Napoleonic troops. The downside is that it fills up very quickly with people with the related inconveniences: waiting in line to get a table, smell of pee in the corners due to lack of public toilets etc.
Located at the beginning of a wide pedestrian promenade this Triumphal arch celebrates no triumph whatsoever. It was built simply to look good for the world fair of 1888. Its pretty enough to look at but ultimately there is just not that much to do there. You will see some street performers however along with the ubiquitous flamenco dancer or two, and some homeless people to go with the masses of tourists. It is my belief that not a single native Barcelonan comes around here making this one of the least genuine Barcelona experiences.
Great photo spot! Felt so magical especially with the kind man blowing huge bubbles in the middle. Literally a dream spot and was a great central space for us to meet up at! Definitely recommend a sun hat as it is a nice long walk to the other end!
Truly fascinating it was still standing up today. 16km of marvelous architecture built centuries ago. It's now a tourist attraction here in Segovia, Spain. The actual city was kept in its original form and structure, with some retouches to restore the Grandeur it was. Don't leave Madrid without visiting this site in just more than an hour's drive from the city center.

Was enjoyable in a beautiful old building - talented musicians
This should be a “must see” while you are in Barcelona. Leads into a beautiful park keep going toward the Barcelona Zoo! Highly recommend this area, there is so much to see and do here. We had such a fun day exploring this part of Barcelona.
The historic bullring in Madrid is simply majestic. Looks like it was built yesterday. Granted that it is not the oldest in Spain, that distinction is assigned to Aranjuez which was built circa 1760. For the Bullring in Ventas you will find a plethora of activities that you can sign up for. Either show up in person or go online and book the tours. However, if you go towards the main entrance and choose to continue walking the perimeter towards the right, eventually, you will find the entrance to the museum. Once at the entrance you will pleasantly be surprised that it is free! The gift shop is accessible from the museum, and it allows you to pass by the chapel that all bullfighters for some final last prayers. The gift ship is a few feet away towards the right. Right before entering the gift shop you will find yourself inside the bullring, albeit in its corridor. The museum itself is quite a jewel as you will see numerous original paintings of what was used for the posters promoting the corresponding season. You will also find various matador suits, many decorated in all their splendor of some of the most recognized bullfighters in the world.

The gate is in the middle of a busy roundabout. We tried to take photos from a higher structure nearby, but the tall trees blocked the view.
One of the liveliest plazas in the liveliest city on earth. Bar after bar after bar. Has got to be seen to be believed.
I went with a tour as a day trip from Madrid (Its called Fun and Tickets and I Highly Recommend) and we had the best tour guide ever; Rodriguez. The aqueduct is free to visit and very well maintained. We had come from the castle and it was just amazing to see how far the aqueduct supplied water (17km!!). I loved just being in the presence of this awe inspiring display of Roman engineering from the 1st Century. Overall, I highly recommend!
Nice place to walk. The arc gives the place a nice little touch with history. The promenad behind is worth the walk, alone, with friends or family. Just watching the passersby, exercising or just chilling, whatever you choose.

The Aqueduct of Segovia is a testament to the ingenuity and grandeur of ancient Roman engineering. It stretches over 800 meters, composed of 166 arches, and has remained remarkably intact despite centuries of weathering and the passage of time. Its commanding presence and interplay of light and shadow create a mesmerizing visual spectacle. The Aqueduct of Segovia is one of the most significant and awe-inspiring historical sites in Spain. Its grandeur, architectural brilliance, and remarkable preservation make it an essential destination for anyone seeking to explore the wonders of the ancient world. Climbing to the top of the aqueduct offers breathtaking views of the surrounding countryside and the city of Segovia.
Beautiful looking gothic church. Entry is free. We went on a Sunday morning and got to attend a mass too. We did not need any tickets. Must visit if you have time. The look is phenomenal.

Toledo Gate is located in the middle of the roundabout, which makes the street looks nice and "cultural". The gate consist of three impressive archways.
You can get there by taking a metro to Puerta de Toledo station (line 5).
A cool place to have drinks with friends. A little crowded and dirty. I think if the place is well kept, it can be a good square.

Interesting monument and a great place to start a walk up el Rastro (Madrid’s flea market) on a Sunday. Get there before 11.00am as it gets extremely busy. Great place for beautiful hand painted pottery.
A little castle by the beach, but unfortunately it was closed when we visited. The courtyard had cannons out the front. Their were building works in the vicinity and lovely views over the beach and ocean

Even in the 15th century there was a gate around here named after the city of Toledo, but this one was built between 1817 and 1827. It was made using granite bricks and consists of a central arch and two secondary gates, as in the ancient Greek architecture. At of the gates they are statues representing the Spanish army
Very atmospheric and impeccably maintained. Wish Scottish people looked after our resting places with so much care and attention
The place was closed when we went at around 11.00, returned a little later and it was still closed. There were no signs to say what was happening and whether they were opening on that day or not. Only a sign saying closed.
The walk from Piazza Espana at one point was not pleasant and made us feel insecure.
The whole area is full of graffiti and reminds us of Harlem in the USA.
The center itself is not particularly impressive and we even witnessed a gang and police fight, in conclusion, it is better not to come here
Pretty historical site. But it was very crowded and there were a ton of police directing traffic. This are of town feels run down to me compared to other parts of the city.
Nice place for hosting events. Beautiful view to the ocean. At the moment, it hosts a nice photographic exhibition. You should be aware of the opening times to access it. The exhibition is free.
Nice place, nice area especially on sunny day u can enjoy the outdoor terrace, but i didnt like the pizza i ordered the tuna pizza the tuna was grounded and mixed with the tomato sauce ,raw big slice of raw white onion make the tast of tuna disapear ,the dough was very thing with big qantiity of cheese and tastless tomato sauce made it one of the worst pizza i had tried in spain
two star is for the nice crew, amuse bouch and the atmosphere
Very pretty especially in the evening. The sculpture (Oscar) has done a phenomenal job.
One of the best place for refreshment in Barcelona, vilanova i la geltru.
Sunset watching and meeting point
Magic place at sunrise or sunset!
Nice place to visit with friends and family.
Fantastic 400 year old building, now used for displays of art work and music.
What a cute and quiet place to go get an afternoon cocktail with friends or a date. We had some Aperol Spritz and they brought out potato chips with our drinks...great for a lazy Sunday afternoon
The vibes around this area of the city were great! I loved having an ice cream and chill on a bench at this park. Lots of students, families and people exploring with happy faces. The only negative thing is the fact that someone thought it was a good idea to mess with the statues. Not cool.
Really nice place to have some rest and feel the sea.
The Castle is very small but well built. Interestingly it has a draw bridge with a couple of cannons displayed in front of it. While I was there opening times were advertised but it was actually closed. I was quite disappointed. If you like castles, you won't want to miss this. There is another at Martinez quay which also displays cannon and takes about 15 minutes walk along sea front

Didn't get to go inside but this is a lovely spot. Perfect at the end of the day. Stacked rocks behind and a pleasant walk back into town along the angry waterfront!
