Would never purchase from here again. Being told that I should not purchase a product because my son is about to be a father for the first time and that he should not be spending money on a console ( by luis) to my pregnant daughter in law being close to tears due to returning the then faulty item and being spoken to like she was dumb. Jamie the store manger likes the sound of his own voice and talks over people and is highly unprofessional. My daughter in law is a lawyer who expressed her rights as a consumer after numerous visits to the store and kept being asked to come back bcz they did not have time to test the product over 2 days and a huge amount of stress miraculously the refund was processed. NEVER AGAIN WILL I PURCHASE FROM THIS STORE. WELL DONE GUYS YOU JUST LOST A VERY LOYAL CUSTOMER.

Got 2 copies of Fallout 76 from this outlet and found that both codes don't work... Very disappointing as I was only in Manchester for a few days and can't go back to the store to deal with this.
Absolutley disgusted with the service, 2 of the guys there treated me with disrespect as i paid in cash for Ps5. The younger worker tried to give me a ripped £5 note and when i asked to exchange it he showed alot of negative attitude and disrespect. I felt like i was judged based on my ethnicity. Employees like this give bad reputation to the business and get nowhere in life.
Their toys are well curated. I used to go there as a kid 20 years ago and they were just as good.
Bought an LG TV for a total of £2800. I was advised that I would also receive £150 worth of vouchers as there was a promotion. I would receive then online. Several weeks have passed and I’m still waiting for the vouchers. I also visited the store and was told I would receive them by the end of the week. Still no sign.
I called Currys advisors. They were as much use as a chocolate teapot. Passed from pillar to post. They were inept and clueless. Extremely poor after sales service. Avoid!!!!!!

I went to the store today to get a Nintendo switch for my son. I met Emilie, one of the staff, I was blown away by a patience, knowledge skills about product, also how she helped me to make right decision for what I wanted and my son would like. Very good customer service .. I left the store with a big smile 😀.
Bought a laptop but it stopped connecting to the Internet less than 4 weeks after purchase tried online help who advised taking it to store for repair, the store staff initially tried to get us to send it off for repair but we refused and asked for a replacement, eventually they agreed to try a factory reset which seemed to have worked, they did the repair but with little enthusiasm. Still better service than an online purchase but not much without us standing our ground
Bought a stack of games to then get home and the most expensive one be empty. Beyond disappointed. Don’t even know how to resolve this, as I live on the other side of the country.

For an electronics “Hub” their payment system seems archaic and slow. I have visited it on many occasions and there always seems to be a lack of staff available too just to ask a few questions. My guess is that within a few years this once high street chain will no longer be around…oh yes, and why is printer ink so expensive, it’s almost worth throwing your old printer away and buy a new printer with the ink in it. One good aspect is that you can take your old tech stuff there to be recycled.
To cut a long story short- I wanted an American fridge freezer, but wanted to ensure that I could have my larder fridge AND freezer taken away for recycling at the same time as the delivery. I used the webchat to ask if this was able to happen. They said 'yes, absolutely- Just add it twice to the collection option when ordering...I couldn't find this option, so rang the live chat to confirm how I do this, who cut me off whilst 'going to ask their supervisor for advice'. Back I go to webchat, who again reiterated that I could have both items collected, but would have to call customer services (which I had tried a number of times and got nowhere, but was told that it was the wrong number that I was using anyway, even though it is the one found all over the internet)... so I called the number that he suggested, who then told me that I couldn't have x2 collections on an order for x1 large item and that I'd need to either buy another large appliance...or BRING MY ITEM TO THE STORE MYSELF for them to recycle!
I decided to rock up to the store (empty handed! LOL) and speak to someone face to face, who could give me a straight forward, accurate answer for my situation.
Jacob was brilliant! He was sympathetic, understanding and helped to resolve the situation for me.
I'm now just waiting for it to be delivered/items collected for recycling!

Nothing you want is ever in stock if you just turn up, and when they did have something they couldn't find it in the warehouse and told me it was probably stolen. Same old story, being told by the staff you can order it online instead. You do realise that if everybody does this then they won't have a physical shop leading to your jobs being redundant! Staff very polite, but I get the impression that they don't have any knowledge on the products they are selling, questions about Dolby vision, HDR etc created some confused responses.

Absolutely horrific service or lack of I should say. I went to buy a new laptop and hoover this evening only to have all 5 staff members completely ignore me. No acknowledgement from anyone at all. All I could hear was the manager barking at staff 'I need someone on washing machines, I need someone on TVs" disgusting to hear the staff being spoken to like this. I walked out in the end and went to Kidderminster hoping for better but it was just as bad. AVOID BOTH
Pure lazy, this stores staff are useless...imagine having opening times but refusing to do anymore product testing 1 n half hours before closing! Obviously think people like wasting their time going to the store, has gone downhill since it gain the lazy self absorbed entitled staff they have now. Dont waste your time go to one that sticks to its opening times
I brought a gta 5 disc and it took 7 hrs to download and then it stopped at 52% and then said "Disc is either broken or dirty" I cleaned it and it still wouldn't work and I didn't get refund.They are selling faulty items the cheapscapes!
Limited due to space on the lower level, high footfall store. General selection of products but is primarily focused on current trends rather than fan favourites. Expect queue times, as the staff structure does run quite lean. Upstairs houses the belong party product. Mid to higher tier gaming set ups which will run latest titles easily making it a positive experience for gamers. The appeal is there for party sessions, but would not be able to comment on the product with great experience. Would suggest shopping for gaming peripherals and or novel gaming gifts.
Good afternoon, wanted to reach out to you and complaint about your service. We ordered in store a phone Galaxy S23 a month ago, when you had a Black Friday and still have nothing. Neither phone nor refund. That was supposed to be a gift for our son for Christmas and now not a single person contacted us and has given us an update. The store claims it was lost in transit. If we can’t have the phone, then PLEASE simply refund us!
Just got a gift for my wife. The product was marked up for more than it should have been. The guy then told me he could do me a deal with extras and product protection for an extra £2.50. Great i thought! Got home and checked my reciept to find i could have just bought what i wanted and saved £20.00 .i didnt even get all the extras that are on the receipt!!

Sold my old mobile to CEX. prices on website or not clear when you go in-store deduct money for cable and charger if not traded at the time.
The store itself is wonderful; plenty to choose from, clean and spacious. In all honesty it reminds me of Toys'r'us from when I was a kid. What really makes it though is the staff. We were greeted by a pleasant chap at the door, and then as soon as we got to the push chair display (the reason for our visit) we were approached by staff member Natalie who offered us help and made us aware of her presence should we need anything. We took her up on her offer and she was fantastic - she got the desired items for us to test run, she knew an incredible amount and was wonderfully helpful, and just all round lovely. Props to this store, for its stock, layout and staff. Fantastic experience.
My partner and I went pram shopping today. As first time parents, we were a bit overwhelmed with options but had seen one online we were keen to look at and knew Smyths had it in stock. Although we weren't looking to buy yet as we are just looking around for options, we were helped by Natalie, who was absolutely fantastic. She immediately saw us looking at the pram we liked and offered assistance. She took the pram off the display and showed us everything we needed to know such as how to change each part, folding the pram, what came with the pram, how to change covers and clean etc and was able to answer every question we had. We feel confident about going back to Smyths when we purchase the pram and hope to see Natalie again. This is the best experience we'd had anywhere when looking at prams, even going to places that specialise in giving parents test runs on prams and not a single member of staff even approached us at these places.
This is for the company in general and awful online customer service. Do not order anything online as once you order they are the most unhelpful company out there. Would not let me change deliver address and then would not let me cancel the order. A joke as they also did not come back to me yet when I said I wanted to complain. AVOID ONLINE PURCHASING!

Prior to purchase I specifically asked about the refund process to which I was told everything (ie keep package unopened etc), but failed to mention about refund being in the form of exchange/credit note. Had I been correctly informed of this I wouldn't have bought the item.
The male manager got involved and he was told about failure of important refund 'exchange/credit note' information. The manager was all to eager to state 'Its basic legal stuff no cash refund, its all here in writing'.
Unfortunately I declined the exchange/credit note (hardly ever buy from Game) and took a financial loss.
I'm sure a full cash refund would have been an option as a gesture of good will on that occassion.
Bad customer service and defiant attitude from both cashier and manager.
I would of happily taken the loss of chin if I was only been told the full story and if their customer service would have been better.
If you are in two minds to purchase from Game, considering the exchange/credit note refunds and poor customer service. From my experience I would definitely avoid dealing with this company and buy on Amazon where refunds are dealt with correctly.

Will not exchange, refund or replace headset bought 5 days ago, that is faulty even though their policy is 28 days as we have removed the outside cellophane from packaging to use it! Very unhelpful store! Very unhelpful Manager refused to give any contact details for head office and said you have to use the chat bot online
We went to Smyths in Gillingham to look at prams and car seats for my sister. We was assisted by Vicky and she was absolutely amazing! So knowledgeable and really easy to talk to and ask questions. She was so patient with all the questions we had and the prams we wanted to try and showing us how they work. She was so honest about which prams would be easiest for my sister. She definitely cared more about us getting the right pram than getting a sale. She made the experience excited fun and easy. Cannot praise her enough and I will definitely be going to see Vicky when I need to pram shop! Will also recommend her to all friends and family looking.

My wife and I are aged80 +. We have just been to Curry's Peel Centre, Stockport and because of the arrogant ignorant attitude of the 3 people on the Service desk today 19/7/23 , we have decided not to visit your store ever again ! They were more interested in talking about their holiday and were VERY nasty when my wife tried to interrupt them by saying those horrible words " excuse me please". Those 3 employee need to be dismissed or Re-trained to learn Respect to potential customers, Especially Elderly folk like us. You most likely wont care , but we will buy a vacuum cleaner from a more caring store now !!!
We had a brilliant experience at the store today! Shop assistant Saad is a fountain of knowledge and went above and beyond when advising us on buying a T.V. and soundbar.. He is a credit to the company and will go far in his career.
Tucked away in the upstairs of sports direct and easy to miss, but surprisingly still has a pretty big range of current and second hand titles, as well as toys and gaming accessories.
The website says they have something in stock, they then have the item on the shelf, wait 10 minutes to be told they have got it in stock. Paid for parking as well just to be told no. I understand if they were busy, but easily had 20 people stood around chatting doing nothing, and people wonder why people shop online.
We bought and Mario car with an controller but the lid off the control er would not open also when we open the place where you put the batteries and took the batteries out there was water in the batteries and we have tried to turn it in but I won’t work it’s a waste of money especially when the car was expensive
I always come here to play Warhammer games, Matt is helpful, really looks after us, full of great advice and I feel very lucky to have this store nearby.
I ordered online, having spotted stock of 4 collectible figures from a collection of 7.
Really helpful staff rang me to let me know they had the rest in stock, and to combine my orders, which enabled me to complete the near sold out collectors item which I thought I'd missed.
The delivery came promptly and in great condition. Fully recommended

Useless staff who I had to get attention whilst on his phone couldn’t tell me which Apple Watch was which, then struggled the get onto the settings on the Apple Watch to tell me the series and the screen size. After 5 minutes I just asked him to get me the watch I thought was best from reading the info paper (which was more useful) . 5 minutes later he comes out with the right watch surprisingly. As I ask to pay and do the tech now pay later scheme he looks at his watch and says that takes 10 minutes, so say okay that’s fine i don’t mind waiting 10 minutes. Which he follows with the store closes in 5 minutes and said I have to come back tomorrow. Never known a salesman who doesn’t want to make a sale, I will not be coming back tomorrow mate
Went here a few months ago to buy a spider man 2 dvd went into the queue and was waiting around half an hour, there were two women behind the counter one was on a computer and the other one was stressing over something random, I asked when we would get served and they started shouting their mouths off, I put my dvd down and went elsewhere found a lovely charity shop which coincidentally had both spider man 2 and 3 in for 20p each would not recommend this particular cex rude staff and long queues
Were brilliant with me getting some headphones the staff were super nice and helpful and even got me a year's warranty for only £4 to top it off will be in again

At this point what do you need the staff for? Might as well fire them all and replace them with self checkouts as those machines are more useful than they are.

Staff are very helpfull and always take their time explaining products. I have had a positive experience every time I have come here to purchase my electronic goods. They are quick and easy with the returns process and have great deals for insurance, I've never had to use it yet luckily but I haven't found better prices for goods elsewhere yet.

Mark was excellent in explaining the bike purchasing procedure and even better for an extra £10 it came ready built, he did a full safety check on it and adjusted it to how we wanted it. Came with a 12month warranty and a 3 month free safety check. My sons very happy with it and recommend it.

Took it back to store and annoyingly the toy worked. Asked for a refund due to the intermittency of the item or exchange and was denied!
I was 'given' store batterys as a goodwill gesture by the manager ......
Argued that he expects me to keep coming to and from home whenever it doesn't work and his simple answer was yes but if it works in store then tuff luck!!!
Upon putting In the new batteries the rep started to bend over out of view... I didn't think much of it and then he hadn't come back up. Lent over and asked why is he hiding - can I now assume it's not working?!?
The agent seemed to be trying to get it to work before giving it back (as he could see it was a intermediate issue) which really annoyed me.
Managed to get my refund and then upon using the baby changing station realised that was broken too! The unit where baby lays bends down to the floor too much so I had to use my knee to stop it dropping. I did report this to a agent so hopefully this will be fixed. Overall not a happy customer!!!!

The worst customer service and staff I've ever had the misfortune of dealing with. Three women with no clue between them. The first one quotes the wrong price even though she 'checked it'. The second one tells me that the testing time for the device will be 40 minutes and it took her 2 hours! The third one blames me for leaving a code on the device when all you needed to do was press and hold three buttons to reset everything on the device. This is what happens when you hire pathetic women with no technical knowledge. I'm very happy to take my business elsewhere.

A huge variety of dolls. The sales happen and can be very good, but most of the time are minimal (about 4-7 pounds savings). Wish there were more dolls not from America and that certain dolls wouldn’t be as overpriced. A pleasant store overall, but there are better places in terms of prices and doll selections

Went in to look for a basic microwave. The item we chose wasn't in stock and all the rest were ridiculous prices. I refuse to be railroaded in to paying three times more for a microwave oven that has features I will never use. I eventually found exactly what I wanted on Amazon with next day delivery.

Went back to Worcester again and was greeted by someone who said it was his first time alone in store so could not deal with the exchange and advised I use the other store located next to the Asda store.
I went there and was told the systems were down so they could not process the deal and the other store knew this.
I have been a game customer since they first opened and have stuck with them despite many games being cheaper online, however I must say that the business has gone downhill and I will no longer be making use of them and will buy all my games and consoles online.
Just as a footnote the part ex deal for a ps5 is only an instore deal.
One lost sale and future sales.

Every child’s dram land smyths toys superstore.. i have visited this place a few times now, they need to make payment tills more clear visible and convenient, there is no proper queue line here , apart from that everything is fine
Wouldn’t recommend this place. Miserable looking giant on the door playing security guard. It’s not a night club mate it’s a children’s toy shop. My 6yr old son had saved his pocket money to buy a new bike he wanted and was told be 3 days to have one made up which would then be the end of the half term! Annoyed as they already had a fully functioning one available. If you Upset him then you upset me. We will never come back. Poor customer service. Avoid.

Great little shop with a little bit of everything - the manager is always so helpful/passionate and gives lots of tips for building and painting the minis. The displays there are incredible too!
The shop is amaizing. What kind of toy is not there. The price is also not that high. The stuffs are also very kind. I bought so many products from this shop for my son and all the products are of great quality. So many variety is available to choose. I love this place. There is a huge car park available and the place is located in peel centre.
It's a good toyshop. Has plenty of different types of toys and, games and things for entertainment. It also had a little baby section that sells cots and prams. The staff were friendly and helpful.
We are really lucky to still have independent shops like this in our town.

Today, I wanted to change my little girl's bike in this shop, and the bike I chose was a little more expensive than the first bike. My daughter was really surprised and scared by their behavior. really embarrassing I bought many times from this shop and every time I faced a challenge. Some time ago, I bought an eight-foot swimming pool that had a hole, and the customer did not take back the composite material that was sold to me. This is a new trick of modern theft, and I will definitely follow up on my complaint. Because even though I have paid for the item I wanted and then for the problems that occurred, when I talked to the management, I saw nothing but disrespect and not solving the problem.
Friendly, professional and helpful staff. Excellent customer service given and time taken by the staff to ensure the customer is happy. I honestly found it a far nicer experience than the Merry Hill store which is always too busy and feels very rushed from a customer point of view
Always trading stuff In here. Most of the staff are really bad at their jobs though. I aim to try and get served by 2 ladies (one with red hair and one with piercings and a veteran staff member dude with glasses) that are absolutely excellent. Curly haired guys not great, supervisors not great, two new girls with the glasses are hopeless aswell made about 4 mistakes with me alone in the past 2 weeks takes them an hour to trade in 10 games. God knows how many mistakes they've made overall.

Alright Game store, only real complaint would be that they seemed to just stock more toys than games nowadays. Game prices tend to stay quite high and they don't really ever do deals on a wide selection of games just old titles that performed poorly. Other than that it's a Game store.
In my opinion, Game (Stockport). Is a very friendly place to purchase games from with warm staff who try their best to help you. Game also resurfaces their disks so no scratches and can resurface any disk if I scratch one. Loads of games at decent prices and your straight in and out with no messing. 10/10
Shocking took xbox console in for trade in was told we can't accept it due to hardware fault and not being able to connect to the Internet! Well why does it work on two other WiFi connections? Would help if you wasn't using a iPhone to test it
went in asking about some items for my 2 young girls. the staff were helpful and masked, they showed me around and discussed the different options I had and were responsive to my children.

CEX in the ryemarket. You want tech they have it. You want games, they have them. I’ve had some cracking bargains there. Staff always lovely, knowledgeable and quick to offer advice. Buying or selling they are always helpful. In fact without going the full geek. They are the best around.
Thank you to Matt for the Scouts taster session. The Scouts really enjoyed the session, and Matt was really engaging. Not only did we get some amazing free models, but 12 activities to do back at the Scout hut!

Decent size Cex shop, many second hand games for multiple system going back to the original xbox and ps2, items are usually well organized and the staff are friendly, mind you this is still a Cex shop so don't expect amazing bargains but still a nice shop for second hand products.
Mostly overpriced, often the used items are more expensive than the brand new ones at other places. Small shop with very limited stock and even thinner variety. Sometimes there are pretty good discounts, but it would worth more going online rather than into the shop.
Very friendly and approachable staff. I'm a complete newcomer to the hobby and was made to feel welcome and comfortable. Great setup of miniatures and tables full of buildings to check out and play with and they offer free tutorials for learning painting techniques at any skill level. I'll be back!

As a parent of a gamer who knows nothing, the staff are always friendly, approachable with full knowledge about the products. They are always aware of affordability and always advise rather than push expensive products on you.

If you were thinking of starting and wanted some more information, pop in to store and he will guide you through everything. Nice place to paint and play, always really friendly people in store happy to talk tactics, paint schemes and new army lists.
The store manager greeted us on a flying visit and our first time in Stockport. He was honestly the nicest person. We got chatting immediately about one of the products, he helped me choose and few things and then even threw in a few freebies (promotional items). He gave me a bit of advice on some game nights and invited me along. A great experience and a great store.

Great shop with knowledgeable staff. Really makes me happy to see a local independent games shop. I have bought a preowned copy or The evil within 2 for a great price. I have also pre ordered Far cry 5 here due to how friendly the staff were. Great shop!
Staff knowledgeable, but the prices!! How can pre owned games be more expensive than brand new? But the brand new prices are order in!! Call of duty £20 brand new £35 pre owned but the new copy has to be ordered in. What shop dosent keep call of duty on the shelf, all the new games on special offer are out of stock as always
I think the owners of this store are out of touch with the hole system. The games are hugely overpriced, and the trade in prices are a joke. Not once have they ever beaten trade ins at any other store. I used to shop here all the time, I would buy games on a monthly basis and didn't mind spending 2 or 3 pounds more than I could get them for online. Then it changed from Gamestation to Game and all the offers you used to get with Gamestation went too. It seems that Game don't care anymore. They seem to be happy trying to rip off customers. They sell pre- owned games buy one get one half price, but they are already twice the pre- owned price of other retailers. Also the price in store should be the same as their online price. The only good thing about this store is the staff, but that's not enough in today's bargain hunters market. You need to do better Game !

Having first stumbled upon Game On well over a decade ago my experiences there have been consistently excellent. I’ve always been made to feel very welcome, even when I’ve just popped in for idle chit-chat. Staff are helpful without being pushy, and above all, know their business. The aesthetic is warm and comfortable and everything is bright and clean and neatly presented. It’s very much a family-friendly shop but accommodates the child in all of us. For me, walking into Game On feels a little like Christmas – The way I remember it as a kid.
