Best Post offices in United Kingdom

Hello everyone. I was 20min before at post office lewisham and the ma’am that was there talk with me not in the good way. Maybe she was stressful about the work but she was so aggressive😉 and she told me I cant serve you because we are close I sad you close after 20minand she just look at me and said you can do it by yourself in machine🤓 anyway

Visited Hazel Grove Post Office today and found the service to be subpar. Despite there being an hour left before closing time, it looked like the staff were already cashing up. With only one out of three employees actively serving a line of 10 people, the wait time was significantly longer than expected. I'd advise seeking an alternative if you're pressed for time.

Terrible branch,short-staff always. black small figure tall woman not even looking in the eye doing the service. I have always been polite to everyone saying good morning etc but I guess manners can’t really be common for everyone and the staff at this branch could never bat an eyelash to treat all customers right. Just a simple greeting could have made the difference.

None of the self checkouts work, surly staff and they overcharge you at the checkout. Avoid at all costs. Use a proper courier for parcels.

I am afraid I would not recommend going to this branch of post office because of extremely poor customer service and long queues.

The only person who works hard in this branch is Bennett, who joined this branch in December, 2022 or January, 2023. She is always friendly and professional but I noticed that most of the days she serves customers on her own.

I prefer using self-service machines but quite often they are out of order at Lewisham branch which means that I have to join quite a long queue at the branch or even go to another post office.

There is a man who works in travel money department of the post office but he refused to help customers with sending letters or packages saying that he does not deal with that! The lady who sits next to Bennett is rude and moody as she ignores long queues pretending to be busy with something else such as counting banknotes.

Please hire staff members who genuinely would like to help customers as at present it is extremely inefficient, stressful and time-consuming experience.

Saturday morning and the queue is 30+ deep with 1 person serving! Totally ridiculous, the three automatic machines never work. It’s like an advert for DPD or other courier companies. No wonder the post office is going down the pan

Worst post office ever. They make you pay extra for everything. When you send a letter you need to come with your own tape or buy tape from them. They won’t let you leave the post office if you don’t buy tape as they already take your payment for the letter and tell you after. It took me more than 15 minutes to simply post a small letter. And nobody explains you anything. It’s on you to guess what’s happening. I’m really annoyed with the service I received! Avoid this post office.

very rude staff behind the counter was some black woman and asked if they had my girlfriends parcel and said they didnt even though says pending ready for collection was not good customer service at all wasnt very helpful.

Worst place ever. Most impolite staff ever. There is only 1 black lady there with grey hair that does her job. She even do too much as they other one are just there to chill. They checking their phone, while there is a long A*s queue, they don't know what they doing. Queue can go up to 1 hour there... imagine. Worst place ever

Terrible BRP collection service if you are considering using this branch I would suggest using another.
Visited the day after my partner landed (Thurs) and was told that the BRP won’t have arrived yet as you just passed immigration yesterday, we get them every Tuesday come back next week. I asked if that applied even if we had a letter from a few months ago and was told yes it didn’t matter.
Came back the following Wednesday and was told sorry your BRP isn’t here it was probably sent back as we only hold it for 60 days before we sent it back. How does this policy make any sense when you are issued a 90 day visa to come to the UK. We now need to contact the Home Office to try and find out where it is and then go through this again.
The post office and immigration should have aligned policies and staff should be trained to know this. It doesn’t help staff are condescending although the second visit the customer service was more helpful and clear.
If we can we will be asking to send the missing BRP to another branch.

They have no idea how Amazon returns work. They refused to take back multiple items in same box as they arrived in. They said that they all have to be packed separately,

Royal Mail have become a shambles. Don't know what's happening in Lewisham in particular - regular post is now fortnightly; Tracked 24 takes 72 hours; Special Delivery Guaranteed 1pm doesn't even arrive. App is next to useless and nobody at the sorting office can ever help.

This post depot’s hours aren’t great, but can’t be helped as probably set by Royal Mail itself. Their one slot for late collections is Thursdays up until 6pm, ideal for people who happen to work during the day. Hoping to collect my parcels and save having to deal with nebulous redelivery times, I dropped by after work on Thursday only to find that “due to staff shortages, we are closed,” with nothing but a hastily written sign helpfully stuck over and obscuring the opening hours at the front of the building. How very helpful indeed. Perhaps R.M. needs to adjust their already inconvenient times to be less so and accommodate for their lack of staff, or start hiring again using fairly distributed wages as opposed to overpaying the people at the top!

If there was an option for no stars then I would give it. This post office is the worst I have ever been to. Never ever any staff, always the same lady at the counter with a mile long queue. No staff and the staff that are present have a very very bad attitude. Find another post office or expect to wait atleast 40 minutes to be served.

Staff at this post office are a complete shambles. Not interested, rude, unhelpful and obviously all would rather be somewhere else.
Can only imagine they only turn up to get discount on their Asda shopping.

Shameful service, no slip put through the door and then finding the package at the office and not letting you collect it as you have no slip! Then it has to be redelivered, I'm not in but a slip has been put through the door and here we go again.............................

Very busy especially as the 5 p.m. closing gets nearer.
Extremely hard working and helpful staff who need the patience of angles.
They deserve more staff as do their customers.
Sometimes there can be 20 customers queuing.

You need to avoid Saturdays peak times, for obvious reasons; otherwise, I have never waited longer than a few minutes, even just after the lockdown ended.
You need to read a whole user manual to operate the self-service machines but there is always a very helpful member of staff around to sort things out.
This has been my favourite Post Office counter for a few years.

Dreadful service. No way to contact them directly. Have to go through a contact centre where the staff member was curt (verging on the rude) and unhelpful. Delivery staff generally seem only to throw back questions and complaints with the standard "don't know, can't help you". We went without a delivery from 31 December to 3 January.

Loads of great SA produce, fresh food, nuts/pulses etc as well as all the usual village store/newsagent products.

Lovely little convenience store. Friendly owners & great SA & Zim food. A little jewel in the Cambridgeshire countryside. 👍

Visited this Post Office today and wish I'd of got the name of the lady who served me as she was really helpful and kind. Great customer service, put me at ease and chatted to me while I found my bar code etc. Will use this post office more in the future as first time using it today. Great work much appreciated

why don't you edit google working hours? Is it very difficult!? Do people have to come to your door everyday to find out!? either you are irresponsible or the right people are not working..

Very rude staff been on a number of occasions sending parcels back but they complain about barcodes and say they don’t work. Need training in how to be polite to customers. Only 1 member of staff nice the lady who has worked in Asda a long time who I try to go to when she is there.

Love the feel of this little shop and the selection of South African products. Stocked up on some P. S Bars that are hard to get these day.

Royal Mail normally run a smooth service but They have changed the opening and closing times due to the current lockdown and I have suggested an edit and google has accepted it now. I would still upload a photograph of the times.

Love getting my fruit and veg here - all paper bags. Also fabulous bread from Allotment (days vary) and Maison Clements croissants (Saturday).

I find the staff here are quite rude they carry on their personal conversations and leave customers waiting. They are never welcoming and i havn't seen any of them smile at all.
I have two that im happy to go to ....a younger girl and one other lady but thats it.
I think personally the staff should undertake some training on how to deal with public in a professional manner.

One great member of staff. The rest are rude and don’t want to assist you. Very unhelpful, won’t put stickers on your parcels, and ask you to do it. Also parcels are left for ages before they are taken into be put in the bags. I try to avoid using the branch now unless there’s no other option

I've never had problem with the staff. I give them my card and get my item fine. But I do have a problem with their cards saying they are open on Christmas Eve 07:00-16:00. I planned to leave work early and got there at 15.20 only to find it closed. I planned my day to be able to get from work to the office only to find I've wasted time,money and effort.

Glad we found a South African shop near us it was good to eat our food again. Special the BILTONG,Droewors and BOERWORS!!!!! Thanx for the friendly welcome will be back soon. Hope you will be open a shop near St.Ives.

I'll be back. Its a nice ride out there. Only 15 minutes in the car. They have decent melktert and the bilton is good. Stock up on pronutro, Mrs Balls and boerewors.

If there is something you particularly want and isn't already stocked, the owner Ingrid will gladly source it for you.
The boerewors is also great and will have your mouth watering while it's cooking on the braai.
