Great 9-hole course, challenging with lots of trees and long grass. Play twice for a full experience. Friendly staff. Start at the Black Horse, enjoy wooded walking circuits, and finish at the pub. Well-maintained common, perfect for walks with kids and dogs. Chainsaw carvings add a nice touch. Plenty of parking and nearby pubs. Highly recommend.

Had my first lesson there, but the atmosphere and the set up of the place plus the welcoming people made me definitely want to go back

Mickey Mouse golf course (9 holes), greens are nice but are very slow for this time of year.
It is short but attempts to make itself harder by keeping the rough close to the fairway and long.
Some of the walkers through the common are courteous and considerate, but the majority are ignorant and will walk down the middle of the fairway or just cross without looking. These people will be the first to complain if they get hit with a ball.
This place needs to decide if it's a golf course or a common.
The club house is reasonable with nice changing facilities, but bring any food and drinks you need with you as there is no cafe.

Played a 36 hole society early July 2024 . Weather has been recently poor but the course has stood up very well.Greens and fairways in very good condition. The course has a variety of designs, well bunkered with heavy rough where you really shouldn't be and ditches to punish. This course is a haven within the M25 but in ULEZ. Food, changing rooms service all very good. Car park small compared to some but better than many. I would be very happy to play again

Friendly staff and accommodating. My partner and I got there a little later than booked on a rainy day and they were okay with that.

There's a lot to like about LSGC. It's shortish, quirky and in places quite narrow so certainly not a beginners course. Most parts are in good condition and the greens are fast and pretty true. Green fees are good value. The olde worlde club house is lovely and they do decent food and drink.
Sadly the whole of the course is open to the public walking their dogs and many of them wander around like zombies without any thought for other people or their own safety. At weekends this is particularly the case. I have taken one star off because of this.

A fantastic day was experienced again at Coombe Hill Golf Club. My golf was not great but the course is in good condition. Lunch and drinks were happily consumed. I had a fantastic Club Sandwich.

Rude and untrained staff. Rubbish and absolutely avoid

I had a lovely morning playing The Prince’s course this morning at Richmond Park Golf Course. The staff was very friendly and I was able to hire some clubs. The clubs were a bit old and beat up but I guess that’s to be expected with a public course. They still played fine.
The course itself is beautiful with lots of birds and foxes on the course. I landed my ball on the green with a nice pitch shot and this fox darted out of the bushes and tried to steal my ball haha. It was quite comical and a unique experience. Keep an eye out for those sly foxes.
Also, bring extra balls because you will lose a bunch unless you have great aim. The rough is extremely thick and dense. While I lost lots a few balls I also found a few so it evened out.
Overall a fun course close to London.
I’d definitely go back.

Great golf course considering it's in the commun.. Few dogs without owners.. But blame the person not the dog..

I hosted a large work event with Richmond Park Golf Course and all of the staff were extremely accommodating (Joshua, Kieran, Yasmin, Daniel, others too). Joshua in particular was incredible all round. From organising all food and drinks to ensuring all parties had a good round and a great day out. Massive thank you to the whole team, we will definitely be returning. The course was also well maintained with no delays. Marshall’s checked in regularly to ensure everything was running smoothly. Thanks again to Joshua he was fantastic.

Left a poor review back in the winter and very pleased that the course is now in very good condition. Played the princes course yesterday and the greens in best condition ever seen them in 4 years. The fairways are good too but need to be extended as rough very thick and penal. Only shame is still the bunkers with not enough sand. However well done to all the staff and look forward to a great summer!

Play again there .greens fantasy. Fairways lovely.

What a great experience for all the family to enjoy. Clearly there were pro golfers coming to practice on a rainy day however Golf Groove also caters for beginners or anyone looking for a bit of fun & something different to do. With a wide variety of courses to choose from from all over the world to many games to pick from, we had a great time. The guy who checked us in & set us up was super friendly & helpful.

The technology is phenomenal. I went with a mate and used the driving range mode and played a few holes. High quality clubs and we were provided with complimentary soft drinks. Great place to have a swing in central London

Very nice course, greens true and a decent pace. The 4 seasons weather didnt spoil our experience. Meal afterwards was nice and a beer topped off a good day. Only negative is parking as very difficult as area small. Fortunately ladies were just finishing their rounds and some spots were then available.

Great golf club however some members still drive their cars far too fast down Camp Road which is a massive concern given the terrible accident at the local school. Please, slow down and save your stress for the golf course itself.

Fantastic golfing facilities in the City. Improved massively from practicing there and having lessons from Michael.

Hidden Gem In Wimbledon!!!
Great Atmosphere for any occasion, a date night or day out with the family and friends.
The place is super cosy and the staff as really attentive, Alexandra was extremely helpful gave us all the help when we asked.
They have a weekly chef special main I would have regretted if I didn’t decide to accept Alexandra advice to try it.
They also have a weekly happy hours which makes a bonus for the ones who loves cocktails/ beers like me and my friends.
Great experience! Definitely will be back

We met friends and family for Sunday lunch. Its been a long time since we last visited and all I can say is that we all enjoyed every aspect of the meal and the ambience of the club. Hopefully it won't be so long till we visit again.

Disappointing experience last weekend, when we turned up to discover 18 temporary greens in play. At this stage it was too late to book elsewhere, a phone call would have been polite to make us aware. The greens all looked absolutely fine to rub salt in the wound

Persons under the age of 12 MUST NOT use the practice ground without appropriate adult supervision; this includes crossing to/from the practice area to the Golf Club/Shop. Persons using the practice area are expected to be aware at all times of danger to others and to themselves. Care must be taken at all times to avoid accidents or injuries to themselves or others who may be present on the practice area and may not hit balls when the range is being cut or balls are being collected.

Very friendly club with welcoming and helpful members like Tommy Tighe plus an excellent and knowledgeable clubhouse manager. Loads of parking available, excellent food so if you are looking for value for money whether it's for something to eat, to pay a green fee or a local club to join I highly recommend London Scottish GC

Awesome venue - excellent facilities, golf in the bays is so much fun. Been here twice in 2 weeks with different friends and must say it’s a great experience. I’m no golfer but there was a coach on hand to give us tips, beers were flowing and it was just great entertainment. Some people in the group were “professionals” and they really enjoyed hitting a few balls too. Great for all ages and abilities - give the place a try!

I just had dinner at The Golf Groove and it was such a great experience, The food was amazing and the service was outstanding, Gaby was a star looking after us, 100% recommended for anyone looking for a new place in Wimbledon to have fun!

I cannot overstate how much fun this once hidden gem in Wimbledon is.
Modern up to date tracker man areas that allow groups to play some amazing courses. Excellent clubs are available should you need them although you can bring your own. The putting green can be adjusted and is also alot of fun.
Outside of that the staff are very friendly, always looking to improve your experience and happy to help. The food and drink can be brought into the bay and stays open quite late.
Make sure you book ahead of time as you can get discounts from time to time, but more importantly there are rarely any empty bays.

Visited for the first time this week and had an absolute blast, we booked for 3 hours but could have easily carried on playing for many more!
All the staff were amazing especially Chris and Jake! I managed to get the first hole in one they’ve had since opening and they presented me with a prize of 12 Golf Groove Callaway golf balls, was totally unexpected and a lovely gesture.
The food, decor and lighting were all spot on, its clearly been given a lot of care and thought.
Me and the lads will certainly be back.

Have now had a few lessons at Project Golf with Quintin VdB. His relaxed and friendly approached to coaching has seen my swing improve in leaps and bounds, over a relatively short space of time. Compared to other instructors in London it has been night and day and offers great value to beginner/intermediate golfers. Trackman technology at the bays gives you all the stats you could ever want on every swing.

I had my sons 11th birthday party at this venue today. The place is amazing the staff are very attentive. The children had a great time. I highly recommend this to anyone who is interested in trying something different.

I was really quite surprised with the location of this course. I traveled through a really busy Watford town center, turned a couple of corners and then find the course tucked behind a residential estate.
However having arrived at the clubhouse it feels miles from anywhere, and was really quiet to play on.
The club house was really clean and well maintained. Following the path around behind the club towards the pro shop and first tee you pass a really expansive putting green and a smaller chipping area.
I played using a discount voucher so thought it great value but I'm not sure if the standard pay and play fee is such a good deal.
I arrived a bit late so didn't have time to use the practice range but managed to hit a few balls in the practice nets before having a quick putt.
The putting green gave a good indication of the greens in general and although they were a bit slower than I'm used to they were true with and in good condition providing a consistent roll.
The course itself is a friendly parkland course with pretty much all the holes playing as you see them with not too many challenges. The whole course is tree lined with some scrub in places causing the odd lost ball.
The fairways are actually all pretty wide and were in a great condition (and just for a change i managed to hit most of them!).
As for the greens they were all fairly friendly with not too many challenging pin placements or horrible breaks to contend with.
The best hole for me was the short par 4 8th which runs down hill towards a dip on the left with trees on the right. Not being a big hitter it gave me a nice lay up approach wood for a pitch onto the green.
The only hole to let the course down was the 16th which is a par 3 playing a blind shot down to a cratered green over a well placed marker. It has a very generous landing area and despite having shot my approach well right of target, I was still left with a greenside pitch onto the putting surface having expected to be in the rough.
Overall a very nice course not overly challenging. Probably the best thing was at the end of the day having finished and being able to see the members and juniors making the most of the practice area. Clearly a family friendly club with good facilities and a course that would suit most golfers and as of this moment in great condition.

I don't play golf, but I'm lucky enough to be invited to various social events. Presidents' evenings, private parties, and the Sunday carvery. The food is always top quality and reasonably priced. But the surroundings are beautiful. On a warm evening, sitting on the terrace overlooking the course is lovely. The building itself is steeped in golfing history. I'm told the golf course itself is really good. Judging by the regularity of my friends' play, I can only assume this is the case!

Staff extremely helpful.
And the buffet food was very nice.
Parking Can be a problem

Really great fun. Two of us went a couple days ago, and got upgraded to the VIP booth. Neither of us are very good golfers, myself especially, but we had a great time trying out a number of the playing options, largely settling on the games! Richard, the CEO, came to speak to us and was really nice, extending our time too! I also really liked that when we found Apple pay wasn't working through the QR Code ordering, he came to ask us about it so it could be fixed. All the staff were very friendly, the drinks reasonably priced and the charcuterie board was fab. I very much recommend going!

Definitely one of the finest Golf courses in the area staff are fantastic

A tricky golf course, most holes are a challenge which kept us entertained. The greens are surprisingly fast and well kept, the fairways are not forgiving and sometimes we were unlucky enough to be on a dry spot with little grass. Highlight of the day, we saw AJ running topless by the second fairway.

Very nice golf , perfect green, nice pro-shop.

we hired the venue for a family party.... Adam was so helpful and nothing was to much trouble.. the buffet food was amazing and the overall night was fantastic... many thanks to the team for making our evening such fun.......

Good parking all around the Common. Large area to walk. One pub in the Common and three others a very short walking distance away. Greens are in good condition, hard work considering the public can walk all over them. Chainsaw carving on a few dead and fallen trees is a great touch.

The pros. Course lovely, very well maintained. Staff extremely friendly and accommodating.
The cons. The members. The stereotype lives on unfortunately. old white men who moan at you about slow play but shank their ball every other shot. Not sure why they are in such a rush, our round took 4 hours for 4 ball. Questioning whether golf bags have been placed on the green, when if they used their eyes they would see they weren’t. Shame.

Amazing fun , warm and friendly members and club staff and good value. There is a very woodland feel to this course and some tight holes making this an impressive place , greens are good. Just watch out for the odd ignorant dog owner .

We had a function in the clubhouse so didnt use the course. The club house was very nice good selection of beers and soft drinks food was very tasty. We were over looking the course and it was very busy and looked well kept and compact.

Played 18 hole — fantastic course well maintained and the restaurant/bar offers great food/drink!!

Approaching the club house there is a fairly modest and unassuming look about the place but looks are deceiving, once you enter the club house it is a fairly luxuriously affair.
The course is in wonderful condition, certainly the best I've played so far this year. There are several really beautiful holes with lovely water features running through them.
We arrived early enough to have a warm up and we were slight confused as the range hits out over the 18th. Having warmed up without killing anyone on the range we headed out to enjoy the round. Weather conditions were tough and added a real test.
Surrey certainly offers some of the best courses in the country and Coombe Hill certainly deserves its postion within the higher rankings.

Loving this new place. Best place to practice and improve your golf in the city. Very friendly environment with a great team. The technology and ability to monitor your game is second to none. Quality of coaching is excellent - have been training with Chris for more than 6 years. If you play golf i highly recommend you pop in to check it out

Went for wine tasting not golf. Good parking and nice environment with interesting pictures and boards on the wall. Bit hot in room where tasting took place sand no one seemed interested in opening windows to cool it down. Cloak room was self serve and small for number of visitors

Easily the best golfing facility in London. Living and working in the city and wanting to improve my game through the winter is super difficult, but Project Golf caters to this wonderfully. The technology adds incredible value to both practice and lessons, my game has improved more in the last 3 months than the last 3 years. Would obviously recommend!

What a gem. Lovely little clubhouse with all the original oak finishings, and a recent revamp has also opened the woods-facing front to attract a bit of coffee and beer trade to earn a bit to keep prices down but really enhances the overall aspect. Mostly its an uncrowded little place where you can grab a pint or a sandwich and keep a locker. It is run on a shoestring and an amazing bargain, yet has real charm, has real antiquity (third oldest in the country) yet is entirely unpretentious.
Wimbledon common is an ancient course accessed from either the London Scottish or the WimbledonCommon Club (Their tee 1 is the LSGF 10th). The course is not just parkland but serious woodland. Hit out of bounds and the ball disappears in bracken and under leaves. It is strangely quiet and peaceful, given its proximity to the A3 and Wimbledon traffic. A true haven and an interesting and challenging course with ravines to cross and narrows to manoeuvre.
It is a public common however, and modern population pressures means that there are lots of dog walkers and strollers, and one has to wear a fire engine red top to warn of your presence playing. Most of the public are respectful or at least cautious, although some seem to revel in taking their own sweet time or picnic in the middle of a fairway. My first experience was a walker whose very wet dog was rolling over the 17th green causing big ruts as I aproached. The dog then ran up to snatch up my ball as I was putting and ran off with it in its teeth. The owner tossed the ball back from some distance with no apology. At least I got the chewed ball back. That was happily exceptional, most people are considerate although some seem inclined to post nasty reviews, and I am glad that did not deter me from what is a truly lovely bargain priced course.
The big advantage of the London Scottish? They are backed by a large parking lot down a quiet lane which also serves the old windmill museum and a very decent snack bar, almost never a problem parking. From the “other side” seriously congested single lanes even just getting to the club house, nowhere to park and endless argie bargie when drivers don’t wish to give way. I am sure they are also lovely people at the Wimbledon Common Club, but I prefer to just park and go, besides the additional charm and welcome from the down to earth Scotts. For the price, so close to central London, London Scottish is to me as good as it gets.

On their window says -Great Coffee… let me tell you. This drink they call ‘great coffee’ wasn’t even close to a coffee let alone great coffee. I have ordered oat flat white to be told that they can add cold oat milk only 😬 ok fair enough if they use push button machine and only do normal milk as warm milk but what I have received didn’t even taste like coffee! Flat white is usually small strong coffee and I have received big cup with water/milk tasting drink. You couldn’t even smell a coffee, same in my mom’s latte. I asked the stuff for help and she did make me another ‘coffee’ which was exactly the same. Waste of money as this drink ended up in a fist bin 🤮 Now I know why there are massive queues to the caffe next door and not even one person in your queue.

Great course. Not as easy as the course rating states with some very tricky holes to navigate. It's not one for the driver but will test skilled irons and wedges. Well worth thr green fee and would recommend and return.

Rude golfers, deliberately hitting balls at walkers and dogs, ordering people to be quiet. Need to remember that it's a common first and walkers have priority - no matter their sense of self importance.
Response to owner - on the day that I was shouted at and told to shut up because it was a golf course I did email to explain what had happened and why I was annoyed but didn't get any reply

The *best* place if you want to get some practice in. The bays are set up with all the cameras and kit so you can focus on exactly the part of your swing you need to. The feedback on screen is so helpful and stops you from guessing if you’re getting better or not…
They have a full set of womens clubs you can borrow, which I’ve not found anywhere else in London. Having the clubs available to borrow makes going before or after work super easy when you don’t have to bring your own clubs in.
You can go in by yourself to practice, but if you do want some coaching - Chris is a brilliant brilliant teacher. Patient, fun, and able to explain complicated things in a way you can understand.

Great new golf studio in the perfect location. Facilities and technology used to improve your game are first class. Had a lesson with Joe, excellent coach, I will be back regularly and have already signed up as a member, brilliant!

Amazing place to come with kids and dogs. The common is very well maintained due to the golf club meaning all year round it's the perfect place for walks.
There's plenty of nice attractions for kids too with all the wood work and carvings. Perfect for a day out and lots of space for a picnic too.

Hands down the best golf facility in London.
+ Best professionals (advanced PGA - the only two are here)
+ Best facilities - this is not a bar or bowling alley vibe. It is dedicated towards golfing excellence. Every single detail is spot on and has been geared around developing your golf game through lessons and intelligent practice. Their tech is cutting edge.
+ Best prices - unlike other pricing, which is set around a small elite, they have kept their pricing competitive for the City; if you live or work near here, this will be the most cost-effective place for you to develop your golf.
+ Friendly, fun atmosphere. Very chilled out vibes, welcoming beginners to competitive golfers who want a place to hit some balls and get their stats.

Such a fun time. Unique course worth playing for a good time. Shared with walkers, dogs and horses so need to give yourself 4-5 hrs for 18. Bring snacks and drinks for the course. Great greens, hooked balls are lost forever, played a scramble. Glad we came! No motor carts. Club and pull along carts available. Try their red top beer!

Amazing after so much snow and rain the course is in incredibly good condition.
The staff are friendly and well trained.
All in all a great winter experience.

Absolutely superb golf course maybe slightly expensive but surroundings also staff fantastic.

Outstanding course and great bar/restaurant service today….

Great place to walk, start at the Black horse on the common, then can do a number of circuits in and around the wooded areas, nice and cool on these hot days, the finish back at the pub to replace the calories you just lost :-)

Excellent course and splendid greens. Recommended!

You'll get over the fact you have to wear a red top after you realise the course is in the middle of a public park... Quite annoying really with so many people nonchalantly strolling across the fairway (lots of paths across the course with bikes, prams, dogs, kids etc..). Feels like they should be the ones wearing red so you know who not to hit, most don't understand fore either.. Anyway aside of from the obvious flaws, it's actually a pretty neat course.. An unusual course, short but with long par 3s, no bunkers or water. Most holes are reasonably open off the tee but with enough wood to make it not feel like a field. Would probably play again now that I know what to expect, perhaps a bit steep for £40 a round..

Quite possibly the worst course I've ever played. Greens were good, couldn't really fault them but the fairways were shockingly bad. I know it is public land but Jesus...easily worse than any public course I've ever played. Some holes even had signs asking you to use tee's on the fairway!

Beautiful parkland with original tree carvings and climbing logs
Very calm
Very calm

Really great challenge. Tight fairways which don't have much grass but that's due to weird local rules about watering them. Greens are immaculate and some fab approach areas. Really liked the course..

A wonderful golf course that is both easy on the eye and a pleasure to play. Really enjoyed my one and only visit and I can't wait to get another chance to play there.

Amazing value at just £20. Greens are some of the best I’ve played on in the area. Certainly the best I’ve played on at a public course!! It’s a classic golf course that will penalise bad shots. Members are among the friendliest I’ve come across.

We booked a private area for a reception recently and were very impressed with the food, service and efficiency. The room was very comfortable and nicely decorated and the staff were very pleasant, efficient and helpful. The food was very tasty and nicely presented and not over-priced.

A great place to walk and have a nice time out and has a lot of space

very nice plc for a walk
