I recently visited EME Temple and it was an absolutely wonderful experience. From the moment I stepped onto the grounds, I was greeted with a sense of peace and serenity. The stunning architecture and intricate details of the temple were breathtaking, and I couldn't help but feel a deep sense of reverence and spirituality wash over me. The atmosphere was incredibly serene, and I found myself immersed in a profound sense of tranquility. The prayers and rituals offered a chance for introspection and spiritual renewal, and I left feeling uplifted and inspired. Overall, my visit to EME Temple was a truly enriching experience, and I would highly recommend it to anyone seeking a moment of spiritual connection and reflection.
One of the most important Shakti Peeth’s in India is Kalighat Temple.
This temple is dedicated to the Hindu Goddess Maa Kali.Mythology says that when Lord Vishnu had used his Sudarshan Chakra to destroy Sati’s body,it was the right leg of Sati Mata that fell in this place.
Today it is better known as Kalighat Shakti Peeth.
The place is buzzing with shops which sell different items related to puja of Maa Kali.
Since the main pandit of the temple is very well known to us,we had the privilege of visiting this temple as special devotees and gave special Darshan here.We also got a chance to see the Sacrificial Chamber where everyday there is a goat sacrifice and once a year there is a Ox sacrifice.
Not only that we had purchased a few Stone Idols of Maa Kali and Lord Shiva from one of the shops adjacent to the temple.
Also we got a chance to have some kheer Prasad and workship the Lord Shiva idol that is present in his home,in the temple premises.
Kalighat is really beautiful and peaceful. The temple is undergoing a massive renovation presently all thanks to Ms.Neeta Ambani.
Once the renovation is complete the entire look of the Temple and the Kund Area is going to be very different.
Also the Government of West Bengal has started work on a Skywalk that is going to connect the temple premises directly with Rashbehari Avenue, hence making it more convenient for devotees.

The Dakshinamoorthy & Navgraha EME Temple, situated in EME School, Vadodara Campus is dedicated to Lord Shiva. It has a Navgraha Temple also which is dedicated to the nine planets in Vedic Astronomy. The EME Temple was built in 1966.

It is very peaceful calm and very clean. Well maintained and worth the time spent. Echo in the main temple is very clear.

Unique kind of structure to be seen in a temple. The premises have many old stone sculptures of various gods. Inside the main structure, one can hear the smallest sounds at high volumes. Sound is amplified effectively.
The Kalighat Kali Mandir in Kolkata offers a profound experience steeped in spirituality. Amidst the bustling queues, devoted pandas guide visitors through rituals, connecting them to the divine Shakti Peethas. The temple's historical significance, tied to the legend of Sati, adds a sacred aura. However, the presence of touts and brokers can be a downside, impacting the serenity of the visit. Despite the crowd, chanting "Jai Maa" in this powerful shrine remains an unforgettable experience.

So this review is for foreigners for whom the temple worship process is a mystery. Very quickly upon approach, "guides" start to approach you insist that for free; they will lead you through the process to see the temple and perform the Indian rites. They aren't terribly push, but mine was insistent that I would need help and to be honest he's right, but I didn't like the process. After depositing my shoes at a little drinks shop which clearly is part of this tourist process, I was urged to purchase some prayer items (bangles, flowers Lei and incense) for 100rp. Not much at all and I didn't have any issue with that. Now barefoot, my guide took off at a fast clip, me pushing through to keep up with him, as he took me to view three eyes of a goddess and then back out and around to an small temple worship area (I'm greatly shortening the process). We clearly went though a special line and avoided the hundreds of local pilgrims lined up the main queue, which we pushed by toward a special instant access entrance. This whole time I knew to be on the lookout for the "take" when my "free" guide would look for some money. I noted that throughout he made of point of telling me how poor the pilgrims were and how they depended on charity to eat; he said it enough that it was pretty clear there was a reason for it. The reason came as the worship process started, with me getting a bindi, doing some short rituals with the items I had purchased, all very perfunctory and rushed. Once done, my guide pointed to a big stack of 500 Rp bills and asked that I make a donation of "2000 or 3000 or even 5000 rp". So this is the take, I realized, as I am sure the guide comes back later for a cut of the donation that I'm supposed to casually leave nestled against the votive. I put down a 500rp note, and said that's all I had. We then had a little back and forth about how that wouldn't "feed the poor" and they couldn't accept so little. Do you have dollars you can give? No. Do you have any other currency you can give? No. I think he realized pretty quick I wasn't having any of it, and he backed off, but they meant a quick trip back to the start to get my shoes, where a lady suddenly appeared and asked for a "donation" for watching my shoes. I gave her 100 rupee. In all the experience cost me 800 rupee, which isn't enough to be fussed about overall. It could have clearly cost me quadruple that if I had played along with what he wanted though. I'd highly suggest the government shut that down and until they do, I'd avoid this site.

EME Temple in Vadodara (Baroda) is renowned for its unique architecture and serene atmosphere. I appreciate its tranquility and distinctive design, resembling a pagoda. The temple holds significance for followers of the Indian Armed Forces due to its association with the EME (Electrical and Mechanical Engineering) Corps. Its also has Sai baba, Ganesh ji, Shri ram and Hanuman ji statues for worshipping. Quiet and a good place to visit with family.
Jai maa Kali! 🙏🙏
The most famous place in Kolkata , If you are religious, do make a visit , excellent management of the Kalighat temple.
Currently as in January 2024 , it is in Renovation but you can go and take Ashirwad from Maa Kali ,
But you will see construction work going on.
Also you have a not so popular ganga ghat. But it's worth visiting.
Positivity all around .
The pandas will take you to the temple and will help you in Pooja , they are very cooperative and also are helpful.
Make visit on Weekdays and avoid Tuesdays and Saturdays if you don't like crowd .
And on other days go as early as possible.
Make a visit , Jai Maa Kali.

Uploading some images for reference.
Do like if this was helpful.
Wonderful temple blurring the boundaries of various religions of the world.
Seems like scores of idols and fragments of temples collected from various locations mounted neatly all along the premises.
Entry free by showing I cards, parking for several cars.
Shoe stand at entrance and the walk around the premises.
A tank inside the premises just along the parking.

Its a beautiful place with many Tamples under the control of Military and maintained by them only. Every thing is so systematic and neat and clean. Worth visiting.
One of the most sacred places to visit and one among the shakti piths. But you will find a lot of crowds just bolting inside the temple and so it is recommended to go as early as possible...

The former name of this ghat was Jarasandha Ghat, which is mentioned in the Girvanapadmanjari. Around 1735 AD, the huge fort located at Ghat and the Ghat was built by Mir Rustam Ali, the then Faujdar of Kashi. Due to the construction of Mir Rustam Ali Ghat, it was later called Mir Ghat. It is first mentioned by Prinsep by the name Mirghat. The second major temple on the ghat is that of Vishalakshi Devi. This is the second temple of Kashi, which has been constructed in the South Indian temple architectural tradition consisting of Gopuram and Dravid Shikhar. Vishalakshadevi is one of the Nav Gauris of Kashi.
Spacious and well decorated and maintained. There are places assigned for deep lighting. There's a Duttatreya temple also in the premise. Piping hot and delicious Prasad is distributed from 6pm.

Its a temple made out of some metal... The fascinating thing about the temple is that if you will stand in the middle of the temple you will get an echo of your voice.

There are many ancient statues kept in the premises of the temple.

Therr is also a cave kind of structure in which shivalinga has been placed.

At the entrance you will have a iconic view of the tank of the Indian army.
Nice temple & Nice Management.

Man Mandir Ghat in Varanasi proved to be a captivating destination during my recent visit. The overall experience was nothing short of amazing, leaving a lasting impression that I'm eager to share.

The vibes at Man Mandir Ghat are truly extraordinary. The air is filled with a unique blend of spiritual energy, historical resonance, and the lively essence of Varanasi. The architectural marvel of the ghat, adorned with Rajput-style detailing, adds a sense of timelessness to the surroundings.

Undoubtedly, the highlight of my visit was the adventurous boat ride along the Ganges. It provided a remarkable perspective of the city's ghats, allowing me to absorb the bustling life along the riverbanks. The gentle flow of the Ganges, the rhythmic rowing, and the immersive views created an experience that felt both serene and exhilarating.

As the day transitioned into evening, the atmosphere became magical. The flickering lamps along the ghat, the spiritual resonance of the evening aarti, and the play of light on the water's surface contributed to a sensory feast. The coexistence of pilgrims, locals, and tourists added to the cultural richness of Man Mandir Ghat, creating a harmonious blend of tradition and contemporary life.
Regarded as one of the holiest of the 51 Shakti Peeths on Earth, the Kalighat Kali Temple is a must-visit place in Kolkata due to its history. It is a sacred ghat on the Hooghly River in Kolkata.

According to the legends, the right toe of the Goddess Sati fell here when Lord Vishnu cut the corpse of Goddess Sati into 51 pieces with his Sudarshan Chakra. Lord Vishnu took this step to save the Universe from the anger of Lord Shiva.

In the northeast of this sanctum, there is a Shiva Temple. There is one more shrine dedicated to Radha Krishna. The main attraction of this temple lies in the image of Goddess Kali who bears a long-protruded tongue made out of gold.

what I did not like was- their panda (priests) culture. It's simple torture. there is no regulation and now I am supporting the " special puja process in various temples across India", at least the price is fixed, when the puja is done, that is fixed unlike here.

here in Sanctum, these morons' priests won't even let you see Maa kali, they will simply ask you to give 100, 200, 500 and then they will "arrange darshan for you". they even obstructed the view of Maa Kali. it was a frustrating experience... and don't let me start on Queue and how people break it and how pandas (priests) arrange darshan for their clients through the exit door...

it's all chaos there. and that was not a good experience... my mother-in-law is not in favor of going to this temple because of this reason- I guess locals don't prefer and they go to Dakishneshwar just due to Priest's behavior...

I guess like Vishwanath temple, authority/ government is making a corridor - that's good
Historical Hindu temple , each and every person who visits Varanasi must and should visit this templ .

The ghat's previous name was Somesvara ghat. Manmandir Ghat is just beside the famous Dashashwamedh Ghat. It is named after the Manmandir Mahal, which is on the banks.

This ghat is an excellent location to make prayers and utilise the boating amenities. Ideal place to be in the evening for Ganga aarti.
A beautiful temple from the Chola days. Also known as the Elangudi Vishwanatha temple. Worth not just a visit but also sponsorship

Sunrises and sunsets are beautiful from this shore. Pilgrimage. Can dip in ganga from this spot.
Wide open area with lake. You can enjoy a nice sunset here.
Young are Shiva temple, must pay a visit in Varanasi, no queue,no rush ..just visit the temple and pray to lord for well being.
The ghat's previous name was Somesvara ghat. The Kachhwaha Rajput King Man Singh constructed this palace in the year 1600. This is a demonstration of how Rajput and Mughal designs may have thrived. Evenings and early mornings provide the ghat's unique grandeur. With its elaborate window carvings and other magnificent features, the palace is a significant tourist destination. The palace has an observatory called Jantar Mantar on its roof. The balcony offers a beautiful glimpse of the Ganges River. Just inside the main gate, there is a ticket desk where tickets can be purchased for 25 rupees (the museum opens at 7 a.m. and closes at 8 p.m). This ghat is an excellent location to make prayers and utilise the boating amenities.

Visited Kaal Bhairav temple in the evening. Kaal Bhairav is known as nagar kotwal of Varanasi and hence must seek permission before entering Varanasi. We visited this temple first and by the grace of Bhairav baba our entire trip was well managed and obstacle free. We were able to have great darshan of Bhairav Baba and offered puja. It took us slightly more than an hour at the temple.
This temple is dedicated to Lord Shiva and is one of the oldest Shiva temples in Varanasi. Situated in Bharonath, Vishweshwarganj (Varanasi), this temple has great historical and cultural importance for Hindus especially amongst the locals. The temple has a fierce form of Shiva which wears a garland of skulls and carries a club of peacock feathers. The word "Kaal" means both "death" and "fate". It is believed that even death is afraid of Kaal Bhairav.

The temple opens at 5.00 am and closes at 1.30pm, then again opens at 4.30 pm and closes in the night at 9.30 pm.
Just amazingggg is the word. I lovee this place and i would recommend one should visit this temple in their lifetime to get the god’s blessings😇😇

Whenever you visit Varanasi, do try to take a ferry ride n visit the ghats by it, the view itself is mesmerising and soothing.

I was on a similar trip, went there to complete some holy rites and after that took a dip in river Ganga and then took the ferry. It felt great to see the maintenance and cleanliness works going on to ensure the hygiene is maintained. The boatman was knowledgeable and did share some historic facts, which I forgot.

The experience can't be explained, visit there to feel it.

Winters would be the best time to visit.

In the mornings, if I'm not taking photographs from the balcony of the nearby guest house I usually stay in, then I love to do so just outside at this ghat.

I've always found it pretty clean (except on the morning after Deepawali - broken clay lamps everywhere), boats are easily caught here - infact you'll probably be asked if you want a ride. Small shops and cafes await you just up the steps and around the corner, as well as the restaurants of Alka hotel & Ganpati guest house.

If you sit underneath one of those umbrellas, do be careful, they are made of stone and hurt when you bumb your head!
