I came on a very rainy day to meet my friend. Despite there being few customers, the guy at the cash register just gave me a blank stare like I was an alien. There was no greeting or “what would you like to order”. When I asked a question (totally in Japanese), he told his answer to my friend. I wondered if he was shy towards foreigners. When showing one of the products to us, he stood between me and my friend, with his back to me, and cut me off entirely from the presentation. This made me feel that he is actually a very unpleasant person. After a while, the coffee I ordered was given to my friend (who already had a drink!) After that I can only regret giving this company my money.
The coffee was okay, but the whole experience made it taste like mud. I won’t go back.

We really enjoyed this coffee shop. The interior is super cute and modern and the staff were really friendly. The food for us was the standout. The cannele was delicious and the French toast was incredible. It was a very thick slice of bread and then accompanied with a scoop of ice cream on top. The lattes were good but not top quality coffee. Overall, this was a nice place to have a coffee and a snack and rest for a bit before going about your day.

The interior design and product selection at Here Cafe are undeniably impressive. The aesthetic appeal and quality of the items are top-notch, making it a visually delightful place to shop. However, no matter how cool or trendy a brand is, the staff can make or break the experience.
Unfortunately, the staff at Here Cafe are super unfriendly and arrogant. They seem more interested in chatting with each other than providing good service to customers. This attitude significantly diminishes the overall experience and makes it hard to enjoy the otherwise lovely environment.
Customer service should always be a priority, as it’s the staff who truly create the experience. A little friendliness and attentiveness would go a long way in transforming Here Cafe from good to great.

The venue was pretty and well decorated. It felt welcoming and peaceful. I didn't like the low seats as I could fit my legs under the table, so it was a bit uncomfortable.

Delicious. Omg the peach soufflé pancakes were amazing!! Highly recommend. Can’t wait to try a new flavour next time.
Came back for another visit to Espresso D Works and like always, it did not disappoint. The omelet plate was delicious, and the grapefruit juice was refreshing. The salad plate was also good and the option my wife went with to be healthier. I would come more often if I was not trying to keep my sweets intake at a minimum. Definitely come here and enjoy the pancakes in a nice shop with a nice ambiance.

For people who genuinely love coffee. You can try all different types of coffee here and they are just so awesome! One of the best cafes ever
This place was delightful. We made it our daily morning starting place and were always met with the best customer service I've ever witnessed in any of my travels thus far. The food is incredible and you can tell how passionate they are about their craft, as evident of the taste. Not to mention a soothing atmosphere great for any morning/ early evening.
I was there because I saw good reviews and a friend has recommended before I arrive in Kyoto. I honestly was looking forward to the experience.
I ordered a latte, and to be honest, I think they can do better. It tastes like water. I think it was weak, and it was lacking of fragrance. I know Japan's coffee is generally on the weaker side (with more added water) but I think even the milk wasn't fresh. It was really disappointing. I have a friend that ordered oat milk latte, I tried hers because she told me it was bad and it was truly terrible.
Service wise, I think it is no longer surprising that the service here is not something to be rave for seeing the poor service reviews. I am a service staff and I know there are good days and bad days, but I just felt that even during your bad days, you can smile and take the initiative to take orders but the day when I was there, it feels like all the staff were not treated well that they are forced to work. It is rather disappointing especially you are in Japan, although I know Kyoto's culture can be different too. Nevertheless, I am someone that if the service is good and the food is bad on the first visit, I would still go back to give other options a chance. However, in this instance, I will never go back there. I really did not feel welcome and like I owe them a living.

Lovely coffee place with a great signature latte! We visited on a weekday late afternoon and the place was empty. There are charging sockets and a washroom available if you’re looking for a nice place to chill from all the shopping nearby ☺️

Finding coffee in Japan is not difficult, but it’s rather complicated if you search for really good coffee and oat milk. When the shop finally opened, we got a cafe latte with oat milk, and one of those little pastries which freshly arrived just minutes before. The coffee was like a warm hug, and tasted absolutely delicious. It was creamy, and really rich in taste. But what caught my attention even more was the little pastry (see picture). It was slightly crispy from the outside, with a soft and moist texture in the inside. It had a slight cinnamon/apple hint, but not at all overwhelming and rather in the background. It was by far the best pastry I’ve eaten in Japan, and I will surely never forget the taste. After we took the coffee and the pastry to go we returned after 2 hours just to get some more of the pastries. Simply sensational, especially in combination with the amazing coffee!

Just a solid, good coffee, especially iced and hot lattes. Also tried their canele and it’s crispy on the outside, soft and chewy on the inside. Plenty of seating and fast service.
We happened to stop by here and had the best pancakes of our lives. The service was very courteous. The café is beautifully decorated and the toilet is behind a wall of books. The food of the other guests also looked fantastic. A little insider tip for breakfast or brunch. The pancakes were so fluffy and the cream was perfect with the maple syrup. A real treat in terms of taste. An absolute recommendation!
We visited this place for the owner’s reputation. The coffee was really delicious, but the service and store management definitely had room to improve. I really wanted to leave this review so the owner could hopefully consider this feedback to make the full experience matching the coffee quality.

Randomly walked in near closing to try the fluffy pancakes. My expectations were low, and I was expecting the pancakes to be an unnecessarily hyped instagram dish.
I was so wrong, the fluffy pancakes were 10/10. Unexpectedly delicious is how I would describe it. Super well balanced with deep flavors. It even came with fresh fruit and delicious ice cream. I think the best part is I didn't have to wait in some massive line for it.

It's super chill, low lights, low music, super friendly staff and a overall relaxing vibe. If you want a break from the busy touristy Kyoto. Come here, have a good hand drip coffee, have a little dessert.

Strong blend coffee is highly recommended 👍 chocolate cake is also heavy / thick
The place is fully packed with locals and tourists. Great and delicious hand drip coffee and cakes. Staff has been trying best to accommodate the crowd and so far they did the best from what I can see. Hidden gem upstairs with cash only.
Coffee was truly amazing! The chocolate cake not good, just a hard cold cake.
The shuflan cake was also good, fluffy and tasty.
I’m giving 4 mainly because the service is really slow. I get they take their time to do the coffee, but it was too much. It came after our food. Also, our coffee was around $7 dollars each, a little pricy for a regular cup of coffee.

Amazing local shop that roasts their own bean. Great coffee, great price, great service. Owner is a certified chief instructor in coffee.

明るい雰囲気の空間で、お店の名前を冠したコーヒー豆をお土産に、お店では中国雲南省のコーヒーを頂きました。
フレンチプレスでコーヒーが出てきた時、「コーヒーを頼んだつもりが紅茶だったのか？」と思ってしまいました。
後で調べて知ったのですが、フレンチプレスは元々、コーヒーを抽出する為に造られた道具だったのですね。
コーヒーの香りを楽しみながら、早く飲んでみたいという衝動のなか、落ちていく砂時計の砂を眺めている間、とても贅沢な時間を楽しめました。
普段、あまりブラックを飲まない私ですが、スッキリとした飲み口と、お茶の様な後味で、とても美味しく頂きました。
お土産のコーヒーも自宅で頂きました。こちらもとても飲みやすく美味しいのですが、お店で頂いた時の様な贅沢な時間を再現するのは難しいですね。また近くへ行った時は、伺わせていただきます。

Very cute cafe. We were drawn in by the pancake photos online. Although to my tastes they’re a bit too egg flavored to be my favorite but they’re still very good. The food I will rate 3/5 but the coffee and cafe I’ll rating a 5/5. It’s a great cafe. I will definitely be back.
This was a delightful cup of pistachio latte and was definitely the best cup of latte I had during my trip in Japan - the coffee was robust, the pistachio nutty and the milk was creamy. The pistachio nuttiness paired well with the coffee and milk. Service was also fantastic where the cafe staff constantly refilled plain water and even provided coffee samplings. WiFi had good connectivity too.
chanced upon this place on a hot summer day after walking through Sensoji. Great selection and of beans. Order a cup if cold brew and it’s intensely strong, but not acidic - love it!
Great cup of coffee in a small cosy shop. Filled with a wide selection of coffee beans from around the world. Coffee has a clear and sharp bitterness that is pleasantly refreshing on a hot summer day.

店内で焙煎されており、普段飲みのコスパの良いコーヒーから最高級のゲイシャまで常に揃っています。色々なコーヒー店を試しましたが、ここの品質が一番良いと思います。

We were already caffeine overdosed before we chanced upon this. Got their signature latte- it came default w Indonesian beans. Do request for other beans if you have your own preference.
Latte was good with the Indonesia beans. And price was reasonable. Was a little hard to communicate in Japanese to get to the right beans but it was nevertheless a great visit for coffee lovers.

カプチーノをいただきました。非常に美味しかったです。コーヒーが好きで、自家焙煎のカフェにはよく行くのですが、上位1%の味だと思います。
Started with a hot mocha drink, which was fantastic and highly recommended. Also had the very berry pancakes. The pancakes themselves were very good and fluffy. The sauce was delicious. Unfortunately some of the berries were a bit sour, and the ice cream seemed to be a simple vanilla instead of berry flavored. The staff was very friendly. Overall this is a great place with a super cool atmosphere. It is only one stop away from Shibuya, so I would highly recommend checking the place out if you are nearby.

レモンスカッシュはいわゆるドリンクバーのような甘ったるいものではなく、ちゃんとレモンピールの苦味も感じれる大人なレモンスカッシュ🍋
お食事にも合うのが高評価！

Rec Coffee Josuiterrace is a modern coffee shop featuring the best in coffee / tea products. It has seating both inside and outside (which is pleasant on a nice weather day). It serves good coffee and tea and other (limited) snacks. Service is polite but aggressive approaching visitors with force yet very limited English (it happened more than once). The cafe is nice but seems very rule based and unfriendly. And one more thing - it is a “fancy” coffee place that doesn’t offer milk products other than regular cow milk so it doesn’t offer considerations to address dairy restricted diets/ preferences which should be easy to accommodate.

Amazing find to cure the jetlag arrival slump.
Such a gorgeous little cafe and incredibly lovely server. We went each for the coffee/tea & cake special. I had tea & baked cheesecake while my friend went for the boozy coffee special and chocolate fudge cake.
Both were absolutely divine although I do think my baked cheesecake was better!
I'd definitely go again for a lovely cup of tea and cake. Very calm vibes so perfect for relaxing.

けどコーヒーの種類が多いので通ってしまいます。
迷っていたら親身になって相談に乗ってくださいますし、スタッフさんはコーヒーの知識も豊富です。

前を通ったので一休みするために来店しました。中は狭く 隣の席との
間隔は近すぎて こじんまりとしてますが お洒落カフェを味わうには良いと思います。珈琲の味は申し分ない味で珈琲好きには良いと思います。

Best to go as a pair as there’s not many seats. The coffee is good and they have flat whites! But I thought the sandwich was pricey for what it was. It’s delicious but I don’t think I will go there to eat again.
店主の方はとても話好きで、コーヒー初心者の質問にも軽快なトークで付き合って下さいます。扱っている豆もオールドビーンズからニュークロップまで様々で、私の好みを聞いた上で次に何を試すと良いか提案してくださります。

The popular Schoolbus Coffee Stop chain has once again opened a beautiful new branch. After Kitahama, Kyoto and Motomachi, the 4th branch is located in South Osaka's Sakai city. School Bus Coffee Stop Sakai is a must visit for people who love interior design/renovation and like to have breakfast, lunch or just a cup of delicious coffee in a beautiful café with a great atmosphere. Wish I could've taken more photos.
こじんまりとしているので、どちらかというとひとりでのんびりゆっくり過ごしたい方向けかなと思います。古民家を活かしておられ、窓から見える青もみじがとてもきれいでした。

Small atmospheric basement cafe in the Karasuma area. Pricy but many different coffees on offer, some I have never even heard of. I recommend trying their specialities.

前から気になっていたプレナコーヒーさんへ。席も仕切られいてコロナ対策もバッチリ!店内はお洒落で落ち着いた雰囲気。色々なコーヒー豆がありました。コーヒーは詳しくないのですがカフェラテを注文。素敵なラテアートで提供☕コーヒーが得意じゃない私にも飲みやすくて美味しいカフェラテでした( ´∀｀)砂糖がなくても大丈夫でした!店員さんも丁寧でとても親切な方でまた、行きたいな〜と思うCafeでした。
あまり広いとは言えない店内だが、シンプルでシャープお洒落な店内。使っているコーヒー豆は、通常のコーヒー専門店でもあまりお目にかかれないものを使っている。同じ豆でもサイフォン、ドリップのどちらにするかをオーダー出来るこだわり。同じ豆で香り味わいを飲み比ることも出来る。べチンバリーのエスプレッソマシーンもおいてある。

Excellent coffee and very nice girls at the counter. You can see the roaster here which is quite amazing! I recommend this small cafe if you’re into coffee tasting)
Very cute place with a great sociable owner (English-speaking). There were even hot dogs of sorts, very tasty, with omelette and chicken, so it was not only coffee.

A pure work of love with every cup of coffee. It is rare to find quality like this. The beans are smooth and vibrant with wonderful, distinct notes. The owner tastes each cup separately before serving to the customer to make sure it is satisfying and tastes excellent. The shop is absolutely adorable and the owner is a pleasure to interact with. He speaks conversational English and is patient to understand and converse with others.
Excellent but expensive coffee in a very relaxed surrounding. The cafe is dimly lit and very relaxing and comfortable. Great choice of coffee and is prepared quickly. Extremely delicious. You can also by coffee beans here.

Chance upon this place and tried their signature latte. It costs 390 yen and it's worth every cent. The quality is good and the milk is silky smooth. Overall enjoyed the cuppa even though the lady barista looked a bit fierce and without much smile on her face. The place sells many variety of coffee and accessories. The overall ambience is quiet and nice. Great for a relaxing cup of coffee.
Freshly roasted coffee beans from all over the world + a free cup of coffee while you wait. Also the service is outstanding. It's as good as it get.
The coffee here is pretty good but the cheesecake was absolutely delicious. They have a great selection of sweets, which will have me coming back to check out. The atmosphere is really laid back and chill, and the staff was super friendly. Prices are a little high, but the sets you can try are fairly reasonable. Worth a look if you’re in Ginza.

前から知っていたのですがやっと行く機会が出来ました。珈琲の種類も店主のこだわりも名店にふさわしいお店でした。今月また、伺いたいと思います。
One of the best coffee experiences I’ve ever had. The owner is truly passionate and incredibly skilled. They only have pour overs and beans and various coffee making supplies. They also have a dog menu and some sweets. Relaxed vibe and fantastic coffee. Highly recommend to any coffee fanatics.

Beautiful shop. Since this is a quiet neighborhood, you might walk in and find the store empty. Just say "Anoooo..." and somebody will sell you tea & coffee beans.
The owner was very friendly, and was very patient with my lack of Japanese, and helped me out by switching to English. The coffee and bakery items were both fantastic.
