Very rude attitude of customer service. Simply asked staff a question and she said to me "CAN YOU READ NEW ZEALAND???" Was so taken a back. But I still said thank you and left. Never felt so disrespected.

The walking navigation is wrong, the station can not be accessed via Derry st. It is accessed via the footbridge from the over SH1 roundabout.
The ramp is too long. Stairs please Auckland council ?

Although my last visit here was in 2009, and now live in Australia. This train station was so cool as it had so many cats around here.

Poor walking design. It took me a minute to walk from a ramp. A path could have been built on a track, making it easier for people, including those with disabilities, to cross instead of having to hike to get there in a minute or so

Unreliable.Train sometimes cancelled without any explanation.
Absolutely horrible service. Waited for the train to Onehunga for 20min, when it arrived it shut the door in our faces when we were trying to get on it (this was within the minute of it arriving).
Be sure to wait by the yellow line at all times of you don't want to miss your train!

Fall of hostile people, and "certain" people open their doors on other cars cause the driver has no skill at driving.

Great station, nice and clean. This is a transport hub for trains until CRL, and the standard can't be better. However, seating is limited, would it be possible to extend the existing benches to take up the full space?

Love avondale just the shops are old and need some love and the old 3 guy carpark needs more love a real eye sore
Parking is almost full. Muddy roads at entrance. You need to walk around 200mtrs to catch a train. Changing platform also takes quite a long walk. Not that much convenient in catching trains on exact time. You need to give extra 3-5mins, if you are on Penrose station for the first time.

Hi Auckland Transport, i dont know where im gonna put the review,
I really dissapointed what i’ve been through today with train at avondale today, at 10.45
I didnt come late, i was waiting for the train coming, and the. When the train coming, I’m about to approach the door , they close straight away, rude driver, it’s can be dangerous for people if i tried to jump in the train when about to close, i really dissapointed because i came early waiting for my train, how come that the train the one who came late close the door straight away when i about to approach the door, they just open and close like that. So rude, how come no people working as well at the time at the train, i even press the green button so many times, while the train still waiting.
i know we need the transportation but it’s not supposed to be treat like that, except that i came late to the train. but close straight away when i’m about to approach the door, it might be not wven 30s, even the old people also need to run because of that, what happened if they fell because of that, it’s not safety. I never reported something like this before. How comeeeeee?
I love traveling by train!

This is more of a dig at Auckland transport as a whole, rather than specifically this station, but man, you really see why it’s barely ever busy on the trains. Half of the trains get cancelled out of nowhere, and I can’t remember the last time a train was even on time. In a time where we have so many incredible transport systems around the world, we have this. Embarrassing really.

Trains are always late at evening times. All the time it's got some sleepers, drunks, and dodgy people dealing vice on board too. It's an unsafe jungle riding these at nights. Always my last resort unfortunately.

Worst train station. The lady working there is useless. Train was there and door closed for the train ready to go and there people standing out just arrived including myself and she could have done something to re open the door and she didn't say a single word. Useless lady

Close to Morningside town Centre and has multiple different entrances onto the station.

Beautiful location, also very convenient location right next to Orakei Bay Village. Great for a quick trip to Farro if you’re in the CBD near Britomart.
Have two platforms from two lines, but no signage that lets you know what’s the best platform for you, ticket machine worked but didn’t print a ticket so had to rely on showing staff my transaction on my phone

Sorry I give this 2 star for such a clean station.

But my sister isn't safe in this area waiting at night while one of the seemingly security guard were constantly staring at her and me every time I picked her up. Made us feel uncomfortable and seemingly doesn't trust that person with never end staring. For us, this is a signs of getting harassment. Please choose a good employer with at-least know how to respect people (especially women and im not a feminist) especially LET THEM KNOW THAT STARING IS RUDE IN NEW ZEALAND.

Avondale Trainstation is only two stops away from bigger Bellville station. It has ample parking on both sides of the tracks. It’s a popular morning and afternoon commute route as it goes past Canal Walk into town.

A nice long train station with plenty of entrances, however, there are only limited shelters available; hence, you better get your umbrella ready and set during the rainy seasons. The tag on/off stations are located right on each entrances, and if you need to drop off or pick-up, better use Layard St albeit it's a one-way street. Very close to town centre, and the medical centre is just across the station. The station have an automated ticket and top up machine. You can also find a vending machine that has been out of order for more than a year.

Having to change from Southern line to Onehunga line or vise versa is a real hassle. For disabled passengers do it at Ellerslie, much simpler. On the Onehunga line Platform 3 - needs better signage for people going to concerts or sporting events. Here an Idea - how about a new walkway to Mt Smart for sport and concert goers.

Good station close to hospital, good cover from weather, nice protection from wind. Every time I've been here, I've got harassed by ticket inspectors. I don't like being treated as a dishonest person, especially after visiting people in hospital. It's getting tiresome.

Decent station. Serves its purpose. However if you park and ride here, there is limited on street parking. Arriving earlier than 7am will most likely guarantee a parking space near the station or further into the surrounding side streets.

Almost no shelter, no proper parking. Layard st is OK for drop offs and pick up however it is a one way, one lane road so you would have to double park. No public toilets seen lots of guys just using the bushes especially after events. Feel sorry for the security guards they usually have their work cut out for them.

Station is alright but lacking enough shelter. Lighting on the shortest route to Avondale town centre/bus stops (Crayford St) is not great, would recommend using the St Jude's Street if using this station at night and not super keen on walking down dark streets. Layard St is a good place for pick ups and drop offs.

Easy travel into Newmarket or the CBD. Goes right out to Swanson (near the Waitakeres) if you go in the other direction. Feels nice and modern. Plenty of shelter from the sun/rain. It is located between New North Rd and Sandringham Rd so it's very easy to transfer to a bus when you arrive at this station. Very close to Eden Park too.

The station itself, which is down a set of stairs and/or escalators is well laid out, and works well. The building above it has a very dark and foreboding foyer. It is particularly horrible On the weekends and public holidays when the cafés and info desk are shut and the place is empty.
