Tonight I went in at 645pm. Was turned away from reception. Only 1 person in there. Reception tells me doctors don't want anymore people theyre busy and full patients..yet they close at 8pm.

My last GP was a nightmare - and I am so glad I found GP central! Dr Queenie is amazing and really accommodating. I have also encountered Dr Ben as a triage doctor, and he is fantastic. I love how the clinic is right next door to a pharmacy and a blood testing centre - golden location. I have now transferred my whole family here. Great service!

Disappointed I went there twice for myself and my nephew who desperately needed help. 1st I was told by the admin that they are no longer taking in any patient because Doctors were yelling at them for admitting patient in, then the second time I got told they don't take no casual only registered patient. I don't understand just really disappointed at how less care this place gives for people in need.

Very happy and impressive with my treatment by Dr Logitha. I feel very satisfied with every appointment and always feel listened to and understood. Can not recommend her enough!

Was turned away with a vomiting and lethargic 8 month old. They were still open just not taking anyone else apparently. We ended up at east urgent care who rushed us through as priority. long way to go for a sick baby and scared mum

How does this system work? Please explain because I can't wrap my head around this.
Sick patients come in and wait 4+ hours to only be seen for 10-15 minutes. If that's the case then that should be an average of at least 3-4 patients every hour across a team of minimum of 3+ doctors. There's no more than 10 patients at a time in the waiting room on an average day so why are they waiting for at least half a day?
The math ain't mathing.
How many patients do you push down the list to make them wait these ungodly hours? People can't waste half a working day waiting 4+ hours to only be seen for 10 minutes. It's absolutely ridiculous.
If there's 1 doctor on then tell patients beforehand, don't make them wait for hours its simple customer service and administration something which is severely lacking with this facility.

First time at this facility and worst experience ever.The receptionist is rude and have no sympathy towards sick patients.Took so long to be seen. Only 1 doctor available between all patients.Its just a joke in my opinion. Nurses were great but Receptionist doesn't need to be grumpy and should understand the pain and situation of the patient.

Came here just today 22september from 9am still waiting till 12 went to enquire to receptionist my wait time to be seen by doctor the receptionist spoke soo rudely that that’s our normal waiting time instead of explaining nicely.Just to get a medical report from doctor and waiting for so long seems a bit weird to me.

Lack of any/effective governance, extremely poor communication practices and disregard for patients time and health (ironically) has successfully made this place an example for how terrible a medical centre can be. After seeing their consistency in poor communication and patient experience over the last few months, my family is changing enrollment.

Ridiculous service. We have experienced extended delays, rude and inconsiderate reception staff and poor services multiple times. Since we have been enrolled here and it's close to our house, we everytime come over hoping that it would be better this time but they never fail to fail us.

They never answer the phone and when you request a call back on the machine they ring 1 time and rang up just to pretend that they call you back. Rude receptionists and if you go with a bullet would they won't know what is wrong and send you home with a Paracetamol.

Here, waiting to be seen by a doctor is like waiting for Christmas to come at the end of the year. They need to make it more accessible for people who don't have all the time in the world. Especially for the elderly or the disabled. Booking consults through the phone and actually having an appointment schedule so things work smoothly would definitely make a positive change.

Registered Nurses are all nice, but the system for the clinic needs a lot of improvement.
Firstly, we went to the clinic 10 minutes before 7 PM to be told by the receptionist they were closed (clinic hours on-site and online indicated closing at 8 PM). A nurse took my son's observations and then asked us to either come back in the morning or head to another urgent care clinic if we wanted to be seen the same day.
The next day, went back at 0800, we were the second patient in the clinic and were seen by a nurse within 15 minutes of arriving but waited 3 hours 15 minutes to be seen by a doctor. We sat in the waiting room from having 1 earlier patient to a full waiting room. When the receptionist who was on her mobile phone was asked - we were dismissably told that they see patients in order of urgency. There were 2 patients at the start of clinic hours but we were never seen until all other more urgent patients arrived and were allegedly seen first. The first patient who was seen waited a lot longer than us and was clearly unhappy as well.
As previously said, the only positive experience we had was with nurses (Grace, Michelle, and Ashley) but they have their limited scope. The receptionists should not be front-line staff if they do not have compassion towards patients and families.

Good bye Local Doctors, you guys are just nightmare. Laughing and mocking at sick people who are waiting for more than 8 hours. I was there with 3 years old, doctor seen us after 9 hours. They should have sign outside as "Beware of Frontdesk Staff". Just bunch of bullies who laugh at sick people.

While I understand and acknowledge the challenges related to long waiting times and administrative issues, which I agree should be addressed by the "Local Doctors" parent coop for the benefit of its customers.
However, given the available resources, it's important to recognize the commendable efforts of the support staff, nurses, and doctors. They are incredibly friendly and willing to provide assistance in any way possible, making the most of the resources at their disposal. I would highly recommend their services.

Long wait to see doctor.... came at 9 am and now it's 2:30 pm still waiting to see doctor... poor patient management... never recommend this clinic and this will be my last visit.

Dr Terrence Lobo family doctor looked after me very well and tended to all of my needs. Very good service. First time in my 15 years in New Zealand and this is the best service from a doctor I have ever received. ❤️

The clinic seems to have around 1.5 Doctors. Had to wait 4 weeks to see a Doctor only to have it cancelled on the day, and then offered a replacement appointment nearly 4 weeks later again. This clinic is in freefall collapse.

If you ever consider coming to this clinic its the worst of all. Came here at 9am I was asked to come back for BP check. just for BP check they told me come back at 1pm i came back and took me to wait for another 4 hrs. Terrible and very disappointed to the point where your BP was down and by the time you get checked it's skyrocketed. Better to go elsewhere this is not a good place for sick people causing more sickness.

Patient who come in the morning 9:00 will go back home by 5:00pm for sure. Nobody even care not the Management or Nurses or GP. Waiting time is worst. We are sitting from morning to evening without having food. Even if we are asking them that can we go home and if you can call back that would be helpful but They answering that we are not allowed and we don’t call back anyone & You have to wait in queue. Where this is come from ? This not my first time opinions we understand about staff shortages. Better to stay home. I am working in healthcare sector so I know that staff shortages everywhere but that is problems suffering Patients who is waiting longer and longer not Management. Instead of that they can send them home to feel free and call them back for GP.

Very poor customer service. Front staff is rude to patients. Have experienced this myself as well as while waiting for my turn, have noticed staff being rude to some other patient that was infront of me too. Need alot of patience and politeness knowing patients are already frustrated inside due to hours of waiting to see the doctor.

It is my first time to this urgent care and I hope my last. The receptionist is a rude and opinionated woman. Once we made it past here a lovely nurse called us back and had us go back to the waiting area. We have been sitting here for 3 hours and there is not even water here to drink. These chairs are horrible to sit on and that does not take into account we sit here with sick kids sleeping on our laps. If a 3 year old says "Daddy the Dr is taking too long" then you know we have a problem. Facility looks great but can only be described as useless.

No joke this is the worst local doctors. There's a sign saying only walk in the mornings to see a doctor. Then go there again another sign up saying There's no more walk in you have to book an appointment.

This is the first time that there has been excellent service at this doctor the receptionist this morning was so lovely and polite and very informative she was patient and kind which is appreciated when coming to the doctor . Sharing my experience for my visit with the Local Doctors(otara) on 30 July 2023 in the afternoon to get my daughter seen by the doctor. A bit different to what I read on the reviews column.
First time going there and I know all about after hours clinic can be a wait preferred to come here then go to Local Hospital and wait for 5-6hours to be seen by the doctor.
The receptionist was lovely, she explained that the wait would be about 3 hours to see the doctor and 1 hour to see the Nurse I was okay with that. While waiting was happy there was a nice kids movie on the TV for my daughter to watch which she enjoyed and helped her tolerate her pain while waiting, with in an hour she was checked by the nurse Vitals all checked height and weight done and all good then we waited another 2 hours for the doctors to see my daughter. So the doctor examined my daughters issue and straight away told us what was the best way to help my daughter and so he did and resolved her issues and straight away prescribed some medications to help her when she goes home. He was a very professional male doctor who was very good in handling a procedure for my daughter.
So time limit as expected and doctor was great and quick with solutions.
This is much bigger and cleaner after hours care then other clinics I have been to. Wouldn’t mind coming back if I needed after hours care.

I have requested my ongoing medicine prescription and I personally went to clinic I have talk to receptionist to ask my prescription . She did order my prescription to doctors and she said to me once ready you will get text. After 10 days I did not get the text and I ask today and they said we can't see any prescription requests . I don't know what said here. I am with this medical center since 1995 .I don't know. Thanks to all staff and doctors.

bad service, waited 3 hours for a 2 minute check up. heard the doctor give his friend special treatment and gave him a check up as soon as his friend walked in and then also let another woman jump the que and get her check up as soon as she walked in. receptionists are very rude and seem like they don’t wanna be there, seemed like a unnecessary wait for 3 hours just to have a 2 min half asked check up. would not recommend for anyone to go here

The doctor and nurse were ok. But the receptionists are nightmare. They simply put us aside from the queue for more than three hours. I think you have to be their family friend or speak their language to get into the normal queue or prioritised. They will be grumpy if you speak in english.

Honestly one of the worst doctors - i joined because they make it sound so convenient with the opening hours & online consults etc but wait times are absolutely ridiculous. Having an asthma attack k might just die before I get to see a doctor. Once waited over 3hrs for my toddler to be seen, she was starved at rhe end of it and exhausted. Call through and have to wait forever for someone to answer & they never give you all the efficient information. Signed up with managemyhealth and given the centre my email address to link to so I can order repeat prescriptions online - just for them to never do it. Useless af. Reception is also incredibly rude.

Only about 4 other patients in the clinic when we arrived but took my little brother 2 hours to see a doctor (the sign said half an hour wait) even with shortness of breath both the nurse and reception ignored him. If you want to be urgently "cared" for I suggest going else where. Most patients in the waiting area were there for similar flu symptoms so I just couldn't understand why he kept getting the eye rolls when he spoke of shortness of breath and he was pushed behind more flu people? If it's only 15 minute appointments they should have been able get through all four patients by the first hour but most of those patients were still here waiting to be seen after the first hour. Another patient who came in after us was complaining about shortness of breath also and the reception just told her to put a mask on. How will you handle it when your actually busy and huge amounts of people coming in for urgent care? Will you keep ignoring all of your patients that are struggling to breath until the point of passing out or worse? What's the point in having signs up that talk about the seriousness of difficulty breathing? Not to mention when we did see the doctor she wasn't serious and was asking me for the diagnosis and how to treat it? My parents are away on holiday so we came to the next place for help when your struggling to do the minimum I.e., breathing. We came here for your support not to be treated like this. $45 to be told we shouldn't have come in at all and big sister shouldve known what to do instead of listening to his body or getting medical expert advice. And you wonder why people never want to visit medical centres when there sick.

Most unprofessional doctors and centre ever. Doctors don't show up, no message, or call or any notification given to you, you just end up waiting there like a fool. Even reception won't tell you anything.

I was having second thoughts to come to this place because of the reviews ive read online but My experience with them was not that bad after all, even though I've waited for almost 4 hours to see the doctor. Dr. Patel did a great job 👏 very professional and empathetic.

Worst service ever they made me wait with my 7yr old child for 6+ hrs but I was advised that the wait was only for max of 2 hrs come on get your guys statement right as its really hard for the kids to wait for that long and the doctors take their whole time in the world and just make there hrs only. Have some work ethic.

Writing this comment after series of bad experiences I have had in this medica centre. You can give 5 stars if you are voting for rude staffs. Receptionists are not friendly. Take a day off if you want to go here. Even if you are dying and staying closer by to this hospital, don’t go here as dying would be faster than being called in to see the doctor.

Very disappointed in the nurse here named Kathy, my daughter went in for a dressing change with her nana. The nurse then proceeded with giving my daughter her vaccination shot’s two of them without my CONSENT. Doesn’t matter if my daughter was with her nana that still doesn’t give them the right to go along with a medical procedure without the Mother’s CONSENT! Kathy then call’s me later to inform me of her “mistake” after the shots have been done. But yet couldn’t give me a call beforehand to ask for my CONSENT. How inconsiderate of her, you should not be working as a health care provider if you think this is ok! CONSENT is everything and how dare you feel the need to take this into your own hands! Disgusting behaviour!

The reception staff are quite impolite and pushy, and one the doctor's is, too. When I complained directly to the reception staff about her behavior she retaliated by not forwarding my prescription to the pharmacy. I've a good mind to file a complaint with the DHB.

Absolutely disgusting/frustrating Medical Clinic/Service. I would definitely not go there even though on last breath cause regardless they will let you suffer. Feel so pity on other patients who has no other option than that. When u ask for my own Medical reports they will take you for spin even though it s your right to ask. X ray reports takes 24 hours...lol....sent to overseas & received within 5-10 minutes with exact diagnosis. 4 days & 4 hours of visit & not coming to any solid conclusion. feel so sorry for them. lol.. Finally got plaster done as had hair line fracture. Would like to honor their service by moon symbolic 0 rather than a star.

Not the best clinic. Even if you have an appointment, you still may have to wait up to 45 mins to see a doctor. In addition, getting a hold of reception is a mess. You'll be on hold for up to 30 mins. I'm currently looking to enrol at a different clinic.

If I could give 0 stars I would! I enrolled here about 3 weeks ago and I was told it’ll take about 10 working days for my records to be transferred from my old GP. Called in today to be told my info was never entered on the system as it was stashed on the bottom of a draw it didn’t belong to begin with and then to be told I couldn’t book an appointment. Seriously do better or hire people that’ll do the job properly.

Brought a sick baby into see the doctor. Was made to wait for hours before even being seen by a nurse. Receptionists are completely unhelpful and refused to give an estimate for wait time, leaving us completely in the dark the entire time.

The receptionists here should be taught how to talk to the patients who already are sick and really need help. I do not under what is the need to be Always so rude. If you do not like the job quit it and give someone else a chance who can be nice and handle situation better. Also there should be proper communication between Local doctors east tamaki and the mount roskill medical centre as when you call the Local doctors they say that the Mount Roskill centre can definitely see you but the response you get from centre is different. I will never recommend any one to visit this centre. I wish a lesson can be taught to the rude receptionists. You get paid money to do the job so do it nicely rather than just being rude and immature.

This is worst clinic I ever come cross they don’t care about patients at all, all they do is sit there ask questions and they say we take only emergency patients what kind of emergency patients they take I don’t know even though there is no one in the waiting room. They will advise without knowing the patient condition, you can go to pharmacy and get the medicine. Pharmacy will ask questions once they know about your condition then they say sorry you need to see doctor by the time everything is closed so you come sit at home with the same symptoms and suffer.

Keep calling "option 1" for reception for 30 mins, no one pick up the phone. Try "option 2" to check the blood test result, was told by answer machine that I could check it online. Go to their webpage and login, there is nowhere I can find "result checking". Feel like it's a dead cycle......

Although I have had a few unpleasant experiences at this practise (which I think would be true of ANY practise if you have been going there a number of years) I have had such great support and care from Dr Queenie, and also Ben. They are helpful, thorough and compassionate and because of the care I received my health problems have improved significantly. I can only imagine the stress and pressure of working in a busy medical centre, especially during covid, yet I have never been made to feel rushed or un-valued. I'm very grateful and appreciative! The receptionists and nurse have been amazing, too.

1 to No star. Simply because the triage system as they call it, for the sick to see a nurse/doctor in an orderly fashion, was very misleading, uninformative and just plain too open for loopholes for the receptionists or nurses to take advantage of and abuse the line in order if it is up to their discretion and assessments. Today 05/12/2022, we waited at the clinic from 9.30am until we saw the doctor at approx 4.45pm. The consultation with the doctor was very good considering it has been the longest day, Dr Mansoor was always thorough and always willing to get to the bottom of the concerns at hand. But the waiting and managing of the incoming patients was very poor, and can be done so much better. Transparency is key in communication and if the receptionists can offer that and be honest about it, it would still have been a long day that can be tolerated better.

I felt like he had no patience, he became very abrasive when I started asking questions and even after I had apologised for not understanding his diagnoses, his immediate reaction was to tell me to wait for another doctor and seek a second opinion.
He made me feel stupid for bringing up my previous doctors visits about the same issue I was coming to him with, stating that he “doesn’t read other doctors notes” and that it “does not matter what it says as he is the one treating me now”. Even though he tried to prescribe me a medication which would not have helped, which he would have known about if he had read my medical history.
At this point I felt like he was over the whole consult as he began to interrupt me whilst I was trying to speak and continued to stare at his computer as I tried to talk to him. He was dismissive, unhelpful and from his tone and actions, clearly didn’t like to be questioned or explain himself. I ended the consult and left feeling very small from the interaction.
I basically paid $20 to be talked down too and am currently still sick. The reception ladies were lovely and the nurse was fine. Waited just over an hour to be seen which wasn’t that bad to me.

I have been going to this practice for over 20 years, and have 2 preschoolers enrolled also. Both my parents and siblings remain local but left Stoddard Road Medical a few years ago. I have been residing out west for the last 5 years but switching practices never crossed my mind until earlier this year. About 2 months ago my regular dr was away sick, so I agreed to be seen by the next available, which was Dr Vanisi Prescott who I had not met before. I have since seen her for all my visits and she has completely changed my mind about enrolling elsewhere. She is reassuring, does all the appropriate checks, acknowledges all concerns, provides valuable advice and makes you feel comfortable and seen. What I like most is her empathy and that she doesn’t rush you out the door. I had to come to this space to leave a review, because I am so pleased with her mahi. Thank you so much!

I have been to the doctors on a week day at 8:30am. Didn't look that busy but was told to wait in the car. Was seen by the nurse at 11am and seen by the doctor after 1pm. Lots of patients who had come before me had been seen which seemed ridiculous as they don't accept appointments so not really sure what the process is. I feel we get more sick going to this type of clinics and spending the whole day waiting. We going as patients and coming out impatient.

The wait is atrocious. I arrived at 8am without eating my breakfast as I thought I could finish early. There were not much people when I came, however, it took me six and half hours to see the doctor and I was never warned that the wait would be that long. That's how bad the service is. And the system or process employed is very bad that I have no way of knowing whether I came first and being served last, as I have seen people arriving and being served immediately than myself, who showed no sign of being in a worse condition than myself. This boggles my mind, especially when I heard that no appointments were being accepted over the phone when the nurse answered several phone calls. No patient deserves this unbearable circumstance. I hope management will do something to improve their services to the people of Mangere.

I had feedback from other parents of autistic kids about how and where they got their kids vaccination done. Feedback was Stoddard road medical have great staff and a nurse that's great with autistic kids. They told me to do a walk in today and they can see us. The wonderful head nurse Cathy was so patient and supportive, she organized a plan and we had our 2 kids taken in 1 at a time to do their vaccinations with the wonderful Jane. No issues at all and a smooth operation. My kids didn't even cry or budge afterwards and are doing great. Thank you Cathy and Jane and also the beautiful receptionist. Thank you we will be coming for the 2nd jab xx

My family has been coming to this practice for more than 20 years. I cannot speak highly enough of these amazing health professionals who have helped us through everything from common colds to pregnancy and childbirth, our children growing and ourselves aging. We have just had our youngest son vaccinated by Kathy, who has known him since he was born. She was wonderful. Our boy has Down Syndrome and Kathy's warmth, empathy and professionalism made the experience nice for our son and for us. We literally trust Dr Gary and his colleagues with our lives, and we feel so lucky to have Stoddard Rd Medical.

Today 28th Sep 2018 (1.56pm) i came with my dad for his appointment BUT the lady was on the counter reception huh my ghost she was very rude lady. You need to give a training to your staff. Sick ppl comes only at clinic so should be polite with them.

I don’t know why I have to even give one star ,as the receptionist doesn’t even have a zero star customer service skills , I just asked the reason why I have to more than 20 minuets after making an appointment. The way of replying was quite rude when I asked her to be polite she said she doesn’t want to talk like I was there for gossiping with her . I am in medical profession myself and looking at people like that pathetic , I think I will never work in this kind of work environment. The service I have received from this clinic over the last 20 years has been fantastic. Both Dr Botica and Dr Hagar are extremely efficient and thorough. I would highly recommend this clinic to anyone in the local area.
