What a fun nature center! Took my 3 kids ages 5, 3, and 8 months and they loved the animals and wildlife viewing area. Of course the huge tortoise was everyone's favorite! The staff is very friendly and helpful, the restroom is spacious and clean, everywhere we looked there was more to see and do. Stopped at the wonderful playground on our way out. Can't wait to check out the trails next time!
Always a great place to start a hike and learn about the nature all around you. I've loved this nature center and park since I was a little kid.
Very very high prices for exotic and poor quality plants. Example: Monstera albo is almost 400$ with a white leaf. Also if you look closer - they chopped it off previously to propagate another plant. When I notified staff about the white leaf (I couldn’t believe that such plant can be in so hight price and not fixed) the woman just said “Yes”. When I said: “But it will die off. She said: “Well, people love white leaves”, and walked away.
It is not even funny. They are not knowledgable or just don’t care. Once you get pure white leaf the whole plant will start produce only white and only green leaves (or only white that will be dead). It is very hard to fix. Honest seller will never sell such plant unfixed. Be aware.
Put at least 2 starts for life wall and bar. The rest is not worth to visit. Too overpriced planters and the rest of the products. I think it was my last visit.

Cute little nursery specializing in orchids. They also have house plants, some outdoor plants, and a store featuring home goods and gift items. There is a small juice bar inside and some outdoor tables you can sit at. I got a beautiful orchid 50 percent off and some other houseplants.
If you like plants, you'll feel at home here. This conservatory has several large rooms devoted to plants from various biomes. It's currently Winter, and they have poinsettias of all colors, as well as all of their usual plants. They even have a section of plants for sale!
Enjoyed their holiday poinsettias and model trains - the display in the entrance hall was very festive. Definitely a good weekend activity for families & friends.
Took four kids to see this. Had a great time, especially feeding the fish and walking around outside afterwards. The flowers, fruits, cacti, and other plants are beautiful. (Great restrooms too!)

My friend and I made a visit and found lots of lovely apple varieties. I went for the Evercrisp and they are delicious for eating and baking. Also, bought young ginger, turnips and some local potato chips. Lots more to choose from, it was tempting! Reasonable pricing and a friendly staff.
What a gem! $5 donation to visit is well worth it. I always look forward to seeing the citrus trees and orchids. They have a little fish pond inside. A must visit.
A wonderful place to go plant shopping in Raleigh. Great selection of indoor plants. Everything was organized well and the greenhouse was very clean. The staff gives you space and lets you look around without asking questions, but they are very helpful when you need something. Some of the plants are unfortunately priced high. I was honestly surprised to see prices for some plants higher than what Im used to in Chicago shops. The pots are costly as well. I also noticed fungus knats in one of the plants I brought home. The garden bar looked really cool though!
This is Pittsburgh history. The museum, the grounds, cafe and atmosphere are just breathtaking. And if you want to experience Frick park, you can walk to it from here. Highly recommend if you visit Pittsburgh.
Had lots of fun at the Halloween event last night! Teenagers directing traffic did a great job and were very pleasant and helpful. Groups that had booths were in the spirit of the holiday and the young man helping with the hayride was very kind to my granddaughter. All in all, a great experience!
I am very sad! Sad because November is coming and Lewis Orchard will close for the season. This place is amazing, from their delicious fruits and vegetables, apple cider and pumpkins (let’s not forget the pumpkin chunking), but mostly because of the amazing people who work there! Always friendly, always helpful and the only place that actually asks for ID when taking my unsigned Credit Card!

Great small farm with a family feel. Small patch makes picking more manageable. They have a hay ride, corn maze and fresh grilled corn and a covered tent area to picnic. No frills. Lots of fresh vegetables and seasonal pies.
My experience photographing a small wedding ceremony here was wonderful. The natural light throughout is exceptional! Thanks to the lush canopy, there are patches of relatively soft illumination all day — and it becomes especially mesmerizing during golden hour.
Additionally, the diversity of flora both inside the greenhouses and in the outdoor gardens make for beautiful and varied backdrops. I can easily picture this being perfect for engagements and other photoshoots as well.

This place is, hands down, the coolest plant shop in Raleigh. They have an incredible selection of rares and the people are amazing. Amber at the bar is as knowledgeable on the drink selection as she is on plants, and Adam is extremely knowledgeable and absolutely phenomenal at what he does. It’s our new go-to for a fun weekend morning outing!
Definitely the best spot in Raleigh for any plant enthusiast…. Lovely shop, great bar/drinks and the best rare collection in the area. Special shout to Adam Geinfinger… such a knowledgeable expert, and his customer service is top notch! Again, his rare collections are ridiculous and you can’t beat the prices!!

We just had the BEST sandwich and baked goods we have ever had! Drove from VA to PA 160 miles and was so worth it! Hope work brings us out there again so we can get more goodies! And the staff were so friendly and helpful! You are missing out if you don’t stop and try this place out! The prices are so reasonable too and you definitely get the bang for the buck!
I came to meet a couple of friends so we could look for house plants. We stopped at their bar and Amber was amazing! (I believe that was her name) All the other staff members were very helpful and knowledgeable. I will be back soon as I want to start a garden! 😊
My front yard landscaping was recently redesigned and landscaped by Erik, the lead designer at Country Mile Gardens. Erik was fantastic to work with – he was extremely knowledgeable about what plants would work best in a very sunny area, gave me a preview of all the plants in his design at the center prior to installation, and thoroughly answered every question throughout the process. The team that did the installation was very professional and Erik personally oversaw the entire installation start to finish. Upon completion of the project, Erik walked me through how to care for all the plants post installation. We could not be more pleased with the process and results and highly recommend Erik and Country Mile Gardens.
Had an Italian sub, and it was clearly made with the freshest ingredients, and the bun was filled to the brim. They also have lots of freshly picked fruits and veggies and homemade bakery items. I wish they were closer!
Rude staff. I asked if I could try a sample apple before buying a large case. A girl at cashier said I could try one from the singles. So I took a very small one. Then, a boy cashier saw I was holding a half-eaten apple and he asked me to pay for that! (Kingsburry Orchard next door always has samples for customers to try.)

The Frick covers a lot of ground, some paid and some free and is a lovely site to explore. I'll try and give a rundown of the different areas and my thoughts!
The visitors centre is the starting point and where you check in for house tours and any paid for exhibitions. There's a pretty big gift shop and lockers if needed. The house and art museum have size restrictions on bags and will send you to the lockers- to give you an idea my B&N bookbag was too big so anything over a decent-sized handbag! There's a cafe next door, I didn't go in but it seemed pretty busy which I always think is a good sign!
From the visitor centre, you can walk to the carriage house. There's a small free car exhibition ( I loved the tiny Bantam cars!) which is really interesting and fun. There's also a paid for exhobition- at the moment, it's on Pittsburgh and the Great Migration. It is interesting and using the cars to explore how people moved from the South up to Pittsburgh worked really well. The cars were presented nicely however it is small considering the cost of admission to it.
Clayton is the main house tour and I loved it. The house is beautiful and the artwork and history is fascinating, especially from a Pittsburgh perspective. The tour has been changed- previously it focused on the house and artwork now there's a social history slant around the strikes and social history of the time. I liked it, although I think others in my group were a little disappointed. I think for me the big thing was our guide was engaged and into the subject which makes such a difference with house tours.
The art museum is small but interesting. It's strange, I didn't see any directional signs outside saying 'Welcome' and honestly, with all the doors shut it looked like it was closed- at first I thought I'd missed the main entrance! Inside are several rooms of artwork from the collection of Frick's daughter. It's quite diverse from Chinese cases to more classical portraiture and I think shows her personality!
Don't miss the little greenhouse- you can go in and there's actually a really wide range of plants inside!

Rawlings is so beautiful! One of the best free places to visit in Baltimore, though donations are encouraged. There are four large rooms to explore with countless plants, many of which are marked with their particular species. Also a great location for weddings! One of my best friends got married here, and it was stunning and so unique.
A great deli [sandwiches, subs], yummy shakes [pumpkin in the fall is my fav], & cool ice cream flavors. Lots of homemade goodies: pies, cakes, gobs, salads, & more. I love walking through the gift section, there's always something that catches my eye. Great produce, decorations, & much more. Stop in a for a look. BTW - They are closed on Sundays.
I recently had the pleasure of visiting Atlantic Gardening with a friend of mine and we had a wonderful experience. We were looking for some pots for our patio and were very impressed with the wide selection they had to offer. Not only was the selection great, but the prices were also very reasonable.
We were also intrigued by the bar that was set up in the store, offering local beer and mimosas. It was the perfect place to relax while we browsed the store. The staff were really friendly and welcoming, especially Elisa, who was the person that helped us with our purchase. She was very knowledgeable and helpful in finding us the perfect pots for our patio.
Overall, Atlantic Gardening was a great experience and we would highly recommend it to anyone looking for garden supplies. The only thing that could have made it even better would have been a charcuterie board!

It was our first visit to the Frick and we enjoyed it, I can't believe how much of it is free to access! We went to see the 4 folios of Shakespeare's plays, which was pretty neat, and stayed to see the permanent collection and walk the grounds. We'll definitely be back to tour the house another day.
Not only is this place huge, it is absolutely stunning to walk through. The customer service was great and everything was pretty easy to find. I felt so inspired and wanted to buy all of the plants. I will absolutely be coming back here when I tear my yard up again. Everyone we spoke to was very knowledgeable and kind. I was very impressed by the varieties they carried and the infographic chalk boards throughout. They offer many services including Wedding arrangements and renting out a space which was very cool. Inside the shop at the top of the hill there is a bar. They have dried lavender buds, braclets, and small gifts ideas. I was very happy we stopped by ❤️
On our way back from Lewin Farms, we stopped by May's Farm. Bought 2 pies: peach blueberry & peach. Tried the former. It tasted very good, but I wished they used brown sugar instead.
Love stopping here on my home. Peaches- both White and Yellow are the best I've had in a long time. Made a sweet cobbler.
Amazing space with very knowledgeable and kind staff. The plants are gorgeous and the different zones are very fun to walk through. You can even grab pellets at the front desk and feed the fish.
Every good thing said about this place is true! I get a Sausage egg and cheese sandwich for breakfast. Nice size sandwich and the sausage is excellent! They’re subs I think are the best around the area. Everything is good food wise you just have to choose!

We were a bit nervous getting a new coordinator after booking the venue but Anna ended up being absolutely amazing, she was one of the MVPs of our wedding week and went above and beyond when we had issues with other vendors.
The grounds themselves were absolutely gorgeous and the staff cares for them so well. Every staff member we interacted with at the Frick was friendly, professional and helpful. They did everything in their power and then some to make sure our wedding went well.
Highly recommend this as a wedding venue, it is spacious, beautiful, well equipped and has the in-house staff to pull off whatever you need.

Oak Grover Plantation Farm at the Union Square Greenmarket is a no-spray farm and has a very large selection of peppers from sweet to seasoning to spicy when when they come in season in the summer, as well as many varieties of plants, herbs, grains, baked goods, and vegetables. One if not the only farm to have no-spray peaches. The farm is not certified organic, but follows organic practices in many cases beyond organic.

Unfortunately both the products and the service have fallen off dramatically in the last couple of years. This used to be my number one absolute favorite garden center and some years I bought virtually all my annuals there. However in recent years the product is not nearly the same quality nor is the staff. In fact five years or so ago the staff was absolutely crackerjack. Had you tallied and on your way in no time. Now there are long lines as staff fumbles at the cashier. And then there are the orange price stickers - you will require a machete to remove them. I think they’re attached with superglue. One wonders why the staff cannot be trained to know the price points or at least use some sort of a tag on the baskets rather than this hideous orange stickers.
Lovely place .A lot to see, most is free.We had tea at the Cafe and sat outside. An absolute wonderful experience!! Totally recommend and we will be back for sure!!
Between the historic building, beautiful plants, and friendly staff, this is an excellent place to visit! There’s a suggested $5 donation which is fair. There are tons of plants to see and a koi pond too! The staff was super friendly and they were quick to point out unique plants for us.

The Frick is a beautiful place to visit. They have some exhibits to check out and the grounds are really nice to walk around. The best thing is it’s free to go into the museums, there’s no admission to pay unless if you want to go inside the Clay Frick House. It’s $15 to tour the house.
Amazing self tour of the ground and professional tour of The Clayton Mansion. Exquisite design and history are abundant throughout the glorious home. The museum is full of masterful displays, and the cafe is warm and inviting with a palatable menu of variety and thoughtfulness. My favorite was the botanical gardens in the greenhouse. It is a wonderful place for a first date, romantic getaway, the history buff, and is a lovely place to enjoy a good book while enjoying the grounds. I would not suggest bringing small children to the Clayton house for you're up close and personal with all artifacts, and small children tend to be hands-on. 5 stars Plus!
We used to buy Christmas trees there for many years. Last year we paid $130 for about same quality of tree that was for sale for $250 this year. That's almost twice the price. It's a good idea to explore other options.
My favorite place for apples and peaches. Never seen any rotten or bad fruits hidden inside the packages as other wrote. Even if there is a one rotten - it could happen anywhere but I’ve never experienced that. Will

The nature area is very nice. It has turtles, snakes and lots of information about all kinds of animals and the trails all around the creek make it so you can really explore the whole area. The playground has a lot of options to play/climb on for kids of all ages and some exercise equipment that adults can use while still able to supervise their kids playing. Highly recommend!
Great place and very unique pumpkins for Halloween
This spring i decided to do new plantings for my garden in the front of my townhome. I really had no idea where to start so I went to Country Mile Gardens for advice. Jenn Thomas came to my home and created a plan according to my wishes and my budget. She created a professional sketch along with the name and description of the plants. She also suggested plants that would be deer resistant, as we do have that issue in our development. Country Mile also did the plantings and mulch. The garden is beautiful and everything went according to budget and timing. I later went back to Jenn for advice on how to care for my garden and she quickly sent me a schedule for maintenance. Five stars all around for Jenn and Country Mile!! Great service and product! Thank you

They have a great selection of hard to find perennials and a huge selection of tomato varieties. Will definitely be coming a regular customer!
In the summer they have the best melons, good variety. Great tomatoes for sauce too! In the Fall they have a lot of cool types & colors of pumpkins. The parking is good too. Nice big parking area so you aren’t walking on the main rd with your family.
Just a wonderful garden center in Morristown! LOADED with annuals, perennials, veggies, herbs, pots, fertilizers, EVERYTHING A GARDENER NEEDS. Plus, the workers are friendly, informed and very helpful. While my back was turned, one lady was putting all of my goodies into boxes so that it would be easier for checkout and transportation.
Warning for tourists: this is NOT a real botanical garden the way you are thinking! We enjoyed looking around and shopping here, and we bought a couple of plants. It's a nice place and we do not regret coming here, and our plants we got are growing nicely. HOWEVER, it is called a "botanical gardens" which it most certainly is not. Look that term up in the dictionary and the encyclopedia. This is a nursery/greenhouse, not a botanical gardens. We were on vacation as passersby, we were quickly looking for museums and such in our car and this came up on google maps. As purveyors of 2 or 3 botanical gardens per vacation, we rolled our eyes at the thought of a plant store calling itself a botanical gardens once we drove up into the parking lot. There is nothing wrong with this place but for anyone looking in the area for an actual tourist destination, this is not a "real" botanical garden and frankly I am a little disappointed a business would misname themselves such, it almost seems deceitful.
I discovered Country Mile Gardens years ago when I worked up in the area, and it's been my go-to place ever since. Simply the best! Dan, Thomas and staff are extremely knowledgeable and helpful in finding the right plant, shrub, tree for your property/ecosystem. And the quality of their products is top-notch! I have a number of shrubs and trees on my property purchased at CMG, a few of which were planted by their crew. An excellent experience in every aspect. They are such a quality outfit I didn't even have them 'unwrap' the last tree (norway spruce) I purchased from them because they've proven their quality to me over the years. They delivered, unwrapped and planted the tree. It's absolutely gorgeous! Thank you all for always taking good care of me, and all of your customers.
Wow, what can I say about this place. We were just driving through Pittsburgh and wanted to see what was there to see. We drove past the frick and decided to take a look. What an experience! This free attraction was better than many paid museums I've been to. The tapestries were beautiful, the sculptures and exhibit on the temporary BLM exhibit were fascinating. The cars on display were amazing. A very worthwhile museum to visit. The staff were very helpful and even the store was tastefully done and not overstated. If you have not been here yet, make time to come.
Very nice market lots of homemade desserts, salads, dips, etc. Has a produce section, Deli, dry goods , candies. Has a section with homemade gift items. Large greenhouse. Eat in area with made to order subs, sandwiches, grill, and fried foods. Clean Public restrooms. Large paved parking lot.
Fantastic variety of pumpkins!! Pumpkins of all shapes, sizes and colors. Great fresh produce and pies in the little store.
Huge selection of pumpkins, gourds, corn and straw! Good sized parking lot and they provide some little wagons to walk around with. Bonus theirs a friendly barn cat!

Came across the NDBG by chance and so glad we did. Doug was very knowledgeable, patient, and very helpful. I think we might have showed up after closing time (did not know at the time), but Doug let us in and was fantastic in helping us start our first pollinator garden. Many varieties to choose from - well cared for plants. Bonus: meeting Elliot - hopefully he is there when you go.
Update: Came back a year later. Elliot (the dog that's there) is very aggressive towards other dogs. Good thing he was on a leash; otherwise, he was going to definitely attack my dog. Afterwards, I was told "We ask that you don't bring your dog". Their website shows a photo of 2 dogs with the comment: "Security - on duty as usual". But, nothing about the garden not being dog-friendly. So, forewarned - don't bring your dog. We were not going to leave our dog in a hot car so we left.

Very nice farmers market . They have a lot of good staff, we bought a huge melon and it was sweet and delicious. They didn’t have a big bag for our veggies so they gave us a cute basket instead . I am glad we stopped here.
My husband and I have been shopping at Country Mile Gardens for over 30 years. From flowers, herbs, garden tools, yards of soil or mulch we are constantly happy with our purchases! The staff are always helpful and pleasant. I was buying my perennials this year and Sharon was so incredibly helpful. She was knowledgable, patient, and kind as she showed me every shade perennial that CMG carried. Answering all of my questions as we went along. I was able to fill my cart with all that I needed. When I went to check out the cashier, Christine greets me with a cheery "hello, how are you today", as I so enjoy hearing every time I shop there. Even with a long line of customers she always makes each customer feel like they are the only one in the store. Never gets annoyed or frazzled, never makes you feel rushed, and is a big part of why I keep coming back for more!
We visited here the other day from out if state after my coworker kept raving about it. We were really impressed as well! The plants are amazingly priced, and a nice selection. They have plenty of grocery items, and home baked items plentyful. Todays lunch is actually the frozen perogies and rhubarb cake. They have home goods/decor and a deli/grill with a large menu.
I LOVE THIS PLACE! Staff is very helpful, selection is excellent - I usually go 3 - 4 times during open farm days!

Nature center had lots of fascinating turtles. Trail was easy to navigate. Unfortunate amount of trash both on the trail water banks and park playground. Then there was the guy who just decided that a particular spot on the bank was his. Cool Creek Nature was excellent. Humans are a toxic lot.
Heirloom tomatoes are in season! Nice selection of perennials and annuals still in stock. (Early August) Sweet corn, melons (including canary melon - want to try it), local peaches. Tomatoes by the box should be coming soon for those who cook/freeze them. Did I mention that heirloom tomatoes are in season?

There aren't enough kind words to say about this great store and crew of ladies! Fresh produce, ready-to-go snacks, most delicious hoagies, milkshakes, and burgers. Their greenhouse is loaded with such a variety of flowers and plants. The store has nick knacks and tidbits that make great gifts. Seasonally they carry whatever is abundant. Always greeted with a smile and a warm welcome. It's my go-to shop. Hope you stop in to see them!
So much to choose from... including exuberant varieties of organic tomato plants; I had to enlarge my garden! Organic herbs too! Knowledgeable and friendly family run business. No need to go anywhere else.
This place has the best variety of plants, especially medicinal herbs. The staff are very knowledgeable and friendly. The classes are always fun and informative. Go quickly when you hear they are open because they are only open to the public for a short time each year. But the trip is well worth it, particularly if you want to try growing something new and different than what you find elsewhere.

It's still a little early in the year to put annuals in but the greenhouses are packed with everything annual or perennial you might wish for.... Will go back in a few weeks when all stick is out ♥️
We drove down on Saturday from Denver for classes with Tammi and to hunt down all the herb plants for my exciting new herb garden. I learned so much fromTammi in just 2 short hours, including the most valuable nugget, over-love vs respect for your plants, brilliant!
I can’t wait to plant all these beauties, I was remiss in not asking about the watering schedule for the 2 weeks BEFORE I put them in the ground. We seem to be doing fine, thanks to Tammi’s shared wisdom, fingers(and green thumb) crossed!

Nice place with lots of smaller perennials but almost no shrubs, ornamental trees, or ground covers to choose from. Dissappointing to see it half stocked at peak season with retail priced material. Definitely NOT a good source for the landscape professional.
Good play ground with equipment in one area for 1 to 3- year olds and more kids a little older in another. Covered pavilion with some picnic tables is nice. Quite a few swings and slides for kids to enjoy. One bad thing is that the bathroom isn't very close but is just a few minute walk away so not terrible.

Giving 5 stars now... They completed the renovations and added awesome new equipment. More stuff than before with some canopies to create shade. Still a good area for the smaller kids and separate area for older ones. New pics posted to show updates.

I found this place through a friend and was blown away by the HUGE selection of plants and the low prices! The hanging baskets are amazing (Happy Mother's Day!) There is a huge variety (dozens of types) of tomatoes. What I really like are the very inexpensive small pots of perennials. This makes it easy to try something new without spending a lot. You rarely see this at nurseries. I also loved that the veggies and other annuals were in four packs, not six packs. You wouldn't think that it makes a difference but it does. You get much larger and healthier plants in four packs. Be sure to check out all four greenhouses. Their website has lists of the things they grow so you can make a shopping list before you go. All of the plants I bought here are doing great. So happy to have found this place. I have to drive almost an hour and a half to get here but it's well worth the trip!
We love Cool Creek. I am so glad there's something like this close by. The nature center is great. There are a few animals, a ton of educational material, a bird viewing area. There's a room with puzzles,books, puppets and some dress up. My girls are mostly interested in running around (literally) and the people working there have always been nice to them. Sometimes there are little activities too. There are great trails, a neat nature play area, and a playground. Really a great resource!

Pretty cool place. Lots of things to do and see. Including a nice playground as well as a really nice Nature Center with the bird sanctuary and other things to see. Lots of turtles and of course the best thing is hidden inside the greenhouse which we will have to see if you want to know what it is. Trails are well kept and plenty of space for everybody.
