The Appraisers Association of America is a very important tool for ethical business activity. If you appraise, collect, purchase, or sell items it is good to know their real worth. Setting training standards, finding intelligent leaders in any field, with the legal know how is critical. You may be a good appraiser, call them to meet the best in any field!

Fastidious in their research and presentation of artworks. I’ve seen Sanjay and his team welcome and educate the greenest of new buyers just starting an interest in the field as warmly as veteran collectors whom they have known for years.
I get to New York City regularly but rarely. Kapoor Galleries is one of the major dealers in South Asian art and it is good to keep up with the trade. I am grateful for the catalog updates and other info.
I would have loved to find out if this company could help me with a highly valuable Christie's estimated collection of art I possess, unfortunately I could not get past the astonishingly rude gate keeper receptionist Sophie. Fortunately I did find a true expert that I was able to discuss with directly, in length, that answered all my related questions, pleasantly and at no charge. If I do end up selling this collection I will be sending this extremely nice person a very generous care package. Sophie, NO SOUP FOR YOU!

One of the best galleries of India art in New York and probably in America. Beautifully executed art books from a 5,000 year-old culture. Walking through is like going to India without physically being there and the photographs make you want to travel there. Lots of nicely brightly lit open airy space. Walking through is a great stress reducer and gently enlightens one to a more soulful meditative vibe. Always a nice experience.

With 20 years of collecting Indian miniatures, attending most all major auctions, and interfacing with numerous experts in this field, I have yet to find someone more knowledgeable and expert than Sanjay Kapoor. Related to purchases, I have always been very happy with the agreed-upon price. He is my "go-to" person world wide.
I emailed enquiring about more information on a signature I couldn’t decipher. The reply I received was frankly rude and couldn’t have been given with more apologetically. Only 2 stars and the response time was very good.

I was very pleased to have my collection appraised by New York Fine Art Appraisers (NYFAA). The process was easy, reasonably priced, and well done. Jason, a very knowledgeable and seasoned appraiser, visited my apartment to photograph and take notes on all the pieces to be appraised. He advised me on the artwork and furniture that should be included and what I should not bother to insure. About three weeks later, I received my appraisal report. It had beautiful pictures of each item, full descriptions that were very professional, and the replacement values for insurance. The information Jason gave me about the different markets was also extremely helpful. I highly recommend NYFAA.

Lee Drexler is the real thing. She knows her antiques cold, including jewelry—she has a special separate certification for gem stones. Try to get her talking a bit about all the super-famous and wealthy clients she has worked with...but don’t expect personal details from this most discreet of appraisers! And be assured that any number of valuable properties she has appraised end up at prestigious auction houses. My personal appraising experiences with Lee include her challenge of evaluating my husband’s amazing collection of over six hundred trumpets and cornets. Lastly, she is super-organized so you are guaranteed a speedy turnaround and impeccable documentation in a most professional final document. I would use her services again— in fact, I have.

I contacted this organization and they put me in touch with Lesley Walker who handles Central Texas. She did a really great job, and I received a very accurate appraisal of my mothers estate. It was a very difficult appraisal with items from Europe, Africa and the Middle east.

Experts they are not. More like amateur hour. I had four works evaluated by them and they were wrong 3 out of 4. The one they got right got me a google report. I recommend anyone who has had works evaluated by them to get a second opinion.

Kudos to Art Experts! I am grateful to receive some information on the Florida landscape painting that I inherited from my mother. A neighbor told me it might be a Highwayman, but I didn’t even know what that meant or where to start. Soon after my initial telephone call and submitting a photo, I received an analysis that was knowledgeable and helpful. I am keeping my painting, but should I (or my children) ever want to sell, I now know more about the artist and how much it might be worth.
