Everyone was professional and kind. My only negative comment would be that I waited in the examination room for over a half hour before I saw Dr. Howler. I would recommend that the wait be longer in the reception/waiting room. Ten minutes, I think, is the longest a patient should be waiting in the consultation room. Thanks!

I am very dissatisfied with the communication within Roanoke Oral Surgery. I had a consultation on May 31st to discuss the best procedure for wisdom teeth extraction. While the oral surgeon I met with was very nice, the process felt rushed. I have extreme dental anxiety, which my dentist shared with them when sending over paperwork, but it was completely disregarded. During my consultation, I was put into an exam room alone to watch a 10-minute video about wisdom teeth and the pros/cons of getting them removed. I then spent about 10 minutes with the surgeon to go over the best option for me. After the appointment, I briefly met with the billing department to review the cost and what insurance would possibly cover.
I was scheduled to have my wisdom teeth extracted on August 12th. I was told before I left the office during the consultation that I would get a phone call from them in mid-July to share what insurance would cover and what the out-of-pocket costs would be, but I never got that call. I called the office on July 23rd and they told me that they no longer call patients to discuss insurance coverage and that I should be notified about 2 weeks before the appointment. I didn't hear anything, so I called again on August 2nd (10 days before the scheduled appointment). They shared that they still did not have any update about payment/insurance coverage for me and that I could be notified as early as 2 days before the appointment, which I believe is very unprofessional given the high out-of-pocket cost.

The doctors are excellent! The office management not so much! On several occasions I have waited a very long time to get to see a doctor (2 1/2 hrs, 1 1/2 hrs.....). I have had to call twice in a day to get to talk with someone. I have been incorrectly billed for services covered by insurance. I just found out that my PCP has not received any records from my 3 surgeries at this office!

The least professional, most inept people I have ever seen. Called for an emergency situation from a surgery on Wednesday and was told that there was no one to consult with and we shouldn’t even have been able to get through on their line since it was Friday at noon. RUN AWAY FOLKS. The worst experience we have ever seen. This is the final straw with a terrible experience. Hippocratic oath…..ha!

After receiving the referral, it took 2 months to get in… 2 days before for my appointment they rescheduled for another 2 months out. Finally got in for an appointment, just to wait an hour to be seen, then find out it’s only a consult… Then sat another hour while I waited around on the surgeon to tell me they will have to schedule me out ANOTHER 2 months on a tooth that needed removed 6 months ago. Will not be going back.

My son had his wisdom teeth extracted on 1/5/24. The surgeon and support staff were great. The procedure was better than anticipated and his recovery was essentially painless; he was back to baseline activities in 24 hours. HOWEVER, the customer service since then has been QUITE disappointing! We paid upfront for what we were quoted was our anticipated out of pocket expense which was $400. We were told a third party does their billing and on 3/6/24 a request was made for a refund to be issued. I called to follow up on the status of the refund on 5/2/24 and spoke with Sarah. Sarah was very helpful to review the account history and shared that although the request was made on 3/6/24, it doesn’t mean the check was issued that date and it’s feasible it may not have been mailed yet. Sarah was going to have the office manager inquire and return my call. Sarah also shared that the checks look unusual in that they are from Paradigm Bills and they have had other patients call with the same issue. After not receiving a call back from the office manager, I called again on 6/7/24 and left another message for the office manager to call me. No return call. I called today and selected the prompt to schedule an appointment so I could speak to a live person. I frustratingly explained the situation again and was told the office manager was in a meeting but she would leave a message for her to return my call. The scheduler did take time to review the account history and shared that the check was issued on 3/6/24 and was made to my son, all of which I already knew, and to which I explained the check has not been received and they should be able to validate that on their end. I waited until end of business to see if I would receive a call from the office manager before leaving this review. Guess what? NO RETURNED CALL. I am an advanced practice nurse of 25 years. I expect better from fellow healthcare professionals. Do what you say you are going to do. I do not expect a call within 24 hours for a non-urgent matter as patients take priority. I DO expect a call back at some point, however. This has been outstanding since March and I have yet to receive a call from the office manager after multiple messages, nor have we received a refund for the service we paid upfront in excess for of $400 dollars. If you cannot speak to me directly about this matter because my son is over 18, return my call to say you will need to speak to him directly, but don’t not just return calls. You didn’t have any problem taking the payment from me upfront. Sarah shared that we are not the first patients with this issue due to the confusion in correspondence from the third party billing company; this sounds like a process improvement opportunity for your business as it’s obviously not an isolated occurrence. I’m sharing this review for others to be aware of the challenges you will likely experience on the back end after great care on the front end. And I’m sharing this with our large local orthodontist practice who referred us and likely refers a large volume of patients.

1. I received conflicting instructions regarding the eye drops associated with my cataract surgery. The Rx instructions say "starting AFTER surgery instill 1 drop 3x daily...". The instructions I received from ME Eye a few weeks earlier say to do "3 drops the day BEFORE surgery, and one drop the morning of".
2. After surgery I was given a paper asking me to "Please participate in our Patient Satisfaction Survey!" However, upon entering the web address, I got the message "Not accepting additional responses at this time".
3. I tried to email you, but apparently you don't provide an email option??? So I had to spend more time trying to find a way to provide feedback. Do you truly want it, given that you make it pretty hard?
4. All of the staff involved with my surgery were awesome: knowledgeable, friendly, caring, patient, funny, professional. They gave me a great sense of comfort that I was in good hands.
5. Hannah Calvelli did my next day follow-up, and she, as usual, was awesome... a real gem and someone I hope will be my eye doctor for many years.

Maine is fortunate to have skilled eye specialists in state. Dr. Moore was terrific, surgery was painless and my vision is much better now. There was good follow-up at 1 day, 1 week, 2 weeks and one month (for retina surgery). I highly recommend Maine Eye Center.

My surgery was done by Dr PARULIS and very impressed with his knowledge and understanding of my condition. Summing it up my recovery has been very good and again just want to say thanks to entire team.

If I'm being honest I didn't like my entire experience here. It is very busy, you share your appointment slot with multiple different people. There is no privacy they leave the doors open the entire time. Everything feels rushed and rough. They didn't explain anything they were doing to me. The doctor was very forceful with everything. After I explained the numbing didn't work he reinjected me and started working on it almost immediately, I could still feel a lot of sharp pains in my lower jaw never once did they ask me if I was okay or if I could feel things. Afterwards I tried to explain that it was hurting significantly however this was disregarded but to be fair by this point I could barely talk. Minus the pain and everything feeling rushed and careless I didn't experience any complications from the extraction. I don't think that Dr. P is a bad doctor I just think he lacks bedside manner and the clinic lacks overall patient comfort practices. In the end they charged me almost $120 additional for a oral exam although no exam was completed and I was referred by another dentist. The process seems optimized for the clinic but its at the patients disadvantage thus I just didn't feel cared for and that is the most important for someone like me with severe anxiety.

Getting my cataracts taken care of couldn’t have been easier. Dr.Cady and all the nurses made everything quick and easy, and i am absolutely amazed at the results. I didn’t realize what I’d been missing. Thank you!

Had a really good experience. My son had amazing care the entire time and they made him extremely comfortable. Only thing I wish they did was make earlier appointments so my kid wouldn’t go so long without eating. Other than that, I would definitely recommend.

This place is the reason for my dental phobia. A few years ago, my dentist sent me here because he had given me the max amount of numbing injections he could safely give me in an effort to pull an infected tooth and I was still feeling everything. He sent me here so that they could sedate me and pull the tooth. The dentist looked at it and said the tooth was almost out and he could pull it in 1-3 minutes, but he didn't want to put me out or give anymore shots. Came back in the room with 4 nurses and pulled it out........I.FELT.ALL.OF.IT......this was pure torture. I was never afraid of the dentist before and now I can't fathom having anything beyond a cleaning without nitrous oxide....I sincerely hope the sadistic jerk that did this to me is no longer practicing

I count my lucky stars that we have such premier eye care in Maine. I'm being treated for Age Related Macular Degeneration, and Drs. Fowler and Bazarian are absolutely amazing. The entire staff are first-class in every way I can think of--knowledgeable, personable, and caring.

Do not recommend doing business here. My surgeon did a wonderful job however the nursing staff was very rude. I needed them to sign a paper so I could return to work and that took a full week. They did not listen and they will not return phone calls.

My husband had an achilles repaired and our insurance Informed us prior to surgery we would only have to pay a copay 150.00 for facility.
They are billing him almost 3,000. They have entered incorrect billing codes as per our surgeon Dr Cella. I've called Metropolitan surgery billing office and no response. My dr cella billing mgr always has tried to call n to no return call . Don't use this facility unless you're going to be able to pay these undisclosed fees of coding errors.

Everyone there will give you different information. They blame the doctors for the schedule and claim they have no control over it. The doctor will blame the surgical center. You'll end up in circles with no clarification. No consideration for children with mental health issues. They told me to come in early and left me sitting in the waiting room for hours. Office staff will talk about you like youre not right there. Some of the nurses in charge of my child's care are extremely nasty. My child was recovering from anesthesia and urinated on herself. The nurse sighed heavily like we were a problem to deal with and left the urine soaked bed in the middle of the recovery area!
Oh and side note, if you go to "avenue c" convenience area for any food items. Check them thoroughly as i pulled something out of the fridge that was covered in mold.

Waited almost an hour for a consult appointment. When we finally got to the back, most of the staff were sitting around joking and laughing. I learned so much about the front desk staff’s personal life because that was their only focus. The level of professionalism and customer service is awful. The facility itself is clean and seems to have updated technology, but they definitely need additional training for staff.
Instead of talking about what guy they will be seeing that night, they could inform patients as to why they are “running behind” and the expected wait time.
Also, ensure you check the date on anything they ask for you to use for hygiene. They actually want someone to gargle with a mouthwash that expired 12/2020! Yikes!

I had knee surgery on 3/17 and Jan Jan and Mel is the best. They made me so comfortable. My anxiety was on 10,000. Mel, made me laugh so hard. My fiance brought me to surgery and I didn't kiss him as we always do when departing. Jan Jan actually insisted she would call him and had him come back and give me a kiss. They are the sweetest nurses I've ever met. This place is a 10 in my book.

Stay away from metropolitan, the surgeon and nurses are nice, lisa the lady that is responsible for scheduling is also great, but they overcharged you and refuse to refund money owed. They charged my husband $1100 prior to his procedure, in June, when we were only responsible for around $400 four month later they are still telling us we have to wait around 45 days for a refund.

Dr. Kirkendal is the best I had two hernias surgery with him robotic he's carrying and explains everything and does a good job. I've had bad experience with past surgery before and I trust him and he's made it easier now to where I don't have that fear so much. How do you recommend him to do surgery.

Dr. Mula’s nurse (Judy) patronized me after I had requested an ultrasound. I’m still in severe pain after the endoscopy procedure and all I’ve suggested (from my pcp recommendation) was to have a GI doc perform an ultrasound. All of my symptoms that I have explained to Dr. Mulat was not in my medical chart that I’ve read after my endoscopic. Your just a cash flow with these people and nothing else.

Everyone was comforting, kind, caring, and professional. Everyone listened. Instead of stabbing me several times to find a vein for the i.v., one nurse said she was not comfortable (lack of visible veins) and another came over to consult, then they chose a third to do the job who got it done in one attempt, almost painlessly. The anesthesiologist's listened, as did other staff and nurses, when I said to not use propofol due to two prior terrible experiences with propofol. The facility was clean and appeared well run. They requested a $400 payment up front, and 3 months later returned the payment to me since the insurance covered it. 5 stars.

Had a great experience here for a cystoscopy procedure. I had one of these procedures with a urologist in Manhattan a few years ago and it was really painful and frankly traumatizing. I was nervous for my appointment but everyone at Surgicare was super friendly, helpful, and understanding. They have a really good "flow" set up for patients to come in, get changed, get prepped for their procedure, etc. I was awake during the procedure and they still had the anesthesiologist there to monitor me. He was kind enough to talk me through and remind me to breathe! It was still a bit painful but having caring professionals there to reassure me made it so much better. Dr. Hajjar has a great bedside manner and explained everything as he was doing it. Afterwards he met with me in his office to go over my treatment plan. 10/10 would recommend!

Had my second surgery here on Tuesday. Everything went great, all staff was super kind and helpful. Dr. Sodha did my surgery and everything was good. Unfortunately, I had an allergic reaction to either the antibiotic in the IV or the pain meds and I had to go to urgent care. I called the center to let them know so I could take note of that antibiotic to avoid it. However, my nurse Kelly who was in the room at the time of my surgery called me after hearing what happened and has been checking up on me since. SHE’S AMAZING. THANK YOU!

This place is absolutely the worst. The girls at the front are very unprofessional and lack hospitality. If you want to hire workers to greet patients, then those girls are not the ones to hire because they were absolutely rude. From the start, they gave attitude for no apparent reason when all I did was ask a simple question. We all want to go home, so they should not project their anger and frustration of wanting to go home on patients. On top of that, the appointment made was at 4pm and was not seen till 6pm. It is unethical and unprofessional to have someone wait as long; if there are too many patients, then it is your responsibility to let the patient scheduled know to come at a later time instead of being ignorant and having someone sit there for 2 full hours. Maybe some training in hospitality and customer recognition and respect can fix the issue.

I'm Thankful to Dr Kirkendall for his expertise in his field. After seeing Dr Lusby and removal of several polyps there were a couple that were precancerous and it would take surgery. So Dr Lusby contacted Dr Kirkendall while I was still in the office to set up a date. Dr Kirkendall is profe6and has a wonderful down ho.d personality. He cares for his patients. He room care and took a foot of my colon aka bad stuff out. I Thank God for putting these two men . My path. I always to praise BSA nurses on the4th FOOR THEIR TOP NOTCH!

Need a Great Surgeon? Look no further. I was in the care of Dr. Kolze for my first surgical procedure ever. I arrived at the office with many concerns and questions. I left with a sense of confidence that I was in good hands. He is fantastic and I definitely recommend him! Office staff was very friendly as well.

These people talked me into getting an upper GI that wasn't needed. Then, to add insult to injury, their billing is handled by some out of state company that is plainly incompetent. I had to track them down to ask for a copy of the bill, which I knew I had one coming because of the EOB from my insurance. When I got the bill, I tried to make a payment with my credit card, but their automated phone system is a non-working joke.
After an outrageously long time waiting on hold, I gave my info to an operator for a credit card payment, and was told it was taken care of. The next day I get a robocall saying I still owe them money. When I call and talk to someone else, they had no record of my payment!
I tried to contact the facility, but they would not help me. I am now afraid this will end up in collections, despite my having paid in full, because of their extreme incompetence.

Appoint for my daughter in law was for 12 and we arrived early. They called her to the holding area and didn’t allow anyone to go with her. This is her first time under anesthesia and she was scared to death. She now has been back there waiting for her procedure for an hour and a half by herself. Receptionist is rude and refuses to answer questions and yes I am on her list.

Dr. Kirkendal is amazing! He is so caring and tales the time to educate his patients. He not only took such good care of my husband but took the time with our family to educate and answer our questions and concerns. The dr's on call responded immediately when we called after surgery.

Someone driving your silver SUV just tried running me off the road on Paterson Plank Road in Secaucus. People driving company vehicles should take care in not trying to be wreckless drivers. I guess you all need new customers and he is out there trying to make them.

I have been to NCS 2 times to date. Both visits were exceptionally better then I expected. The waiting area is awesome, comfortable and conveint!! USB/ power outlet stations at each sitting area, VERY clean (even compared to a regular doctor office). The staff is ALWAYS pleasant, full of laughs, smiles and greats personalities!!! My visits were like 6/7 weeks apart and it was really nice to be remembered at such a place where so many come & go! Not only that, at my 1st visit my bestie was there as well (we were in a MVA together) and my 2nd visit she didn’t go and they asked where she was and if I’d be “ok” without her. If you have never had “same day” procedures, everyone here will make you feel comfortable & at ease.
