We took our kids before school started to have fun, about the tickets in advance i really wouldn’t recommend because you still have to do line like if you was purchasing them in there. Example we bought tickets for 7:00PM and we was not in until 7:15 which I always disliked thinking by buying online you would have to skip all the wait. The rubber squares are all smelly and broken apart, & for little kids i will said 5yrs and younger the only thing they could do is jump i didn’t see no slide for them or atleast a small area for them.
Just wanted to see how bad the beach was torn up,and end up seeing a Jimmy Buffet tribute band. They were booked to play their tonight. Uncanny, huh? RIP ,You will be missed by all Jimmy
I gotta say, my experience at Skyzone in New Rochelle was a real letdown. I'm a parent with a daughter who has autism and I use a wheelchair. I was hoping for a good time, but that's not what I got. I barely lasted 15 minutes before I called it quits and asked for a refund.

The elevator situation was a mess. It just wasn't working right, which was a major bummer. What's worse, there's only one elevator, and it's only accessible in one part of the place. As a parent, I wanted to stick with my daughter and enjoy the whole facility together, but that wasn't happening.

Honestly, it's disappointing. I wish they'd thought about people like us who need proper access and accommodation

This is a new location. The prices were affordable. They have a snack stand, lockers, cubbies 4 footwear, eatting area, and an area for just toddlers. The bathrooms were cleaned for my visit last Saturday. My children enjoyed the entire park. The floor does offer dodge ball, and a small race game. Waivers must be sighed for all those jumping.
Cute spot for concerts, movies, and other events! It can get crowded on the boardwalk during performances, but it's great to have a free option for music at the beach.
Do not recommend. Overpriced and definitely does not feel safe. It was overcrowded when we went. Employees seem to be more interested in just chatting amongst themselves. One employee was just there playing alongside some kids jumping while wearing sneakers from outside. What’s the point of making everyone else wear purchased socks then? The smell of weed when we went inside was also unavoidable. One lady started yelling at the employees. I don’t know exactly why but she said she didn’t care that her time wasn’t up. They were leaving.
The park is very complete and we had a great time but guys you need to find a way to wash the fabrics in the warrior section. The totally stinks! I understand kids sweat and people sweat but come on wash the stuff. We have a membership and this makes it really disgusting and impossible to enjoy
Great area to play tennis. Clean bathrooms. And close to the reservoir. There's a small tennis shop where you can buy a quick snack too
The indoor trampoline park is our favorite place in winter. On Saturday afternoons, it is great for big jumpers, but we don't recommend it for the little ones. It is still a great place to let the kids socialize and for parents to join in the fun with their kids. However, they need to improve the bathrooms as they are often dirty and have an unpleasant smell.
Always great to see a concert . We saw Rolling Stones cover band Street Fighter.
Excellent band what beautiful night wonderful crowd just an overall great venue
I love this location, my kids had a great time. It's very clean and has no drama.

We saw a band called WHO'S NEXT . Had a good time listening 🎶 to them , and glad for the ocean breeze that kept us cool .
Best part .... free entertainment !
Good music nice place outdoors, they have benches but you can bring your own chairs coolers music start around 8 check schedule for band each nite something different
What a great place to have a party. The smaller kids can be separated in areas to avoid injury with the bigger kids. The place is about as clean as you can a high traffic popular fun place. My only gripe is not the price…the price is totally reasonable for what it is….it’s the fact that really young kids run this place. When you go here, you’ll have do much fun. But please please police your children. Don’t just let them run amuck. Look in on them from time to time. The place gets very busy.
This place is Horrible. No AC in the building . Theta have two big fan blower units . The play area is a big space with tons of unused area. Not clean . Would not recommend this place. Paid 126 for three kids to jump for 1hour and 30 mins in a hot and dirty place .
It's fun for the entire family. Trampolines and obstacles course are challenging. They are remodeling and adding more arcade games. The membership is well worth if you plan on visiting multiple times in a month and also gives you discounts at the food store. Staff is really nice and friendly. Trampolines can well use a keep clean, however the bathroom was always clean when we visited. Glow in the dark party was super fun, too bad they disconnected it. Overall
This place is dirty staff are not even paying attention to the kids on what they are doing. Staff are huddled up and talking and not doing their job I will never come here again.
I went there as a kid. I still love this place. The food options are solid. The popcorn, hot dogs, fries are delicious. Bands are selected very carefully and are very good. The staff is always welcoming and makes you feel at home.
Mist active Pickleball scene in NYC. Always good for a game Beg thru Adv.
Very clean, affordable, spacious and comfortable facility! Conveniently located across from the beach, a great way to cool down after a workout. Staff have always been friendly and available to help, never had a problem.

While the recreation rooms could be bigger, there is plenty of equipment and space for anything you might want to do at a rec center. Plenty of water foundations throughout the facility.

Track season throughout the year does make the hours of operation confusing at times, but the rec center usually has a schedule you can take with you with the specific hours listed on a calendar.

The facility also has very clean showers, locker rooms, and multi purpose rooms with a large variety of equipment (some for fitness activities and some for desks or programs).

No wifi and difficult to find cell signal on the ground level. Recommend downloading music or videos if that's what helps you workout.

Parking - free and covered right in front. plenty of spots. charging available for electric vehicles as well. parking is also available across the street at the beach lot if it does become full.

Membership - from the parks department. seniors, veterans, IDNYC card holders, and people with disabilities get discounted annual memberships. youth (under 24) get free annual memberships. adult price is either $100 or $150 based on whether or not you want pool access.

Love what they do for the local community, such as donation drives, family activity programs, and park cleanups. Also - regular competition and recreation team opportunities to sign up for, especially in the summer!

Bonus? You might see some horses, groundhogs or deer on your way out!

The Jones Beach bandshell is a great place to see a concert. I don’t recommend the cheap seats — too far. If their is a chance if rain, bring ponchos.
My family loves this park. We have been bringing our family here for about seven years. This is a beautiful park and as the nautical theme is very charming. It also has a pool and I used to take fitness classes at the rec. The classes included Zumba, Soka Tribe (a Caribbean dance class) and fitness boot camps before the pandemic. They now have a beautiful museum next door call the Rubell.
I’m a long time running coach & athlete who’s trained every level of runner - elite, competitor, beginner, and this is a world class, modern facility where people in the know come to have fun and compete for their personal bests & fastest times. Impeccably run by the administrators this is a NYC jewel and an incredible facility for the community.
Great place for all ages who love handball, pickleball and nice scenery. Very relaxing place.
i went on a class trip here and it was so fun!! it relieved my stress from the big exam. i was kind of disappointed because i didn't get to go on the ninja warrior course (the line was super long.) the pizza was okay, but not the best. however, bouncing and jumping around was a blast with my friends! 🤸‍♂️🍕🐱‍👤🎉
Very good gym. Clean and there is plenty of equipment, a track etc.. Best thing is it was not crowded.
Excellent gym! Wonderful walking track! Training track on 2nd level is used by all the local track teams. The spring session starts March 26, 2023. The very reasonable rates can't be best. Especially seniors. Free for students with ID.
This is my happy place. My home away from home. The fitness instructors are amazing and all the workers are amazing as well. The members are all very kind people who just want to work out, socialize and have way too much fun. During track season they cut down on some things but this gym is so reasonably priced you really can’t complain!

own staff is stealing peoples shoes! Sad can’t even trust the workers there! and I only say that because I seen it with my own eyes person complain they went to the area with other workers …Chinese or Asian black shirt with glasses comes out from the back, put it back in the area…. Then go get them like if you found them. Need better stuff!⬇️⬇️⬇️⬇️⬇️⬇️⬇️⬇️⬇️⬇️⬇️⬇️
3 week later I know what I saw !!!! and if your facility would carry lockers, people would not have to worry about their items being taken!!! Your own staff is taking people items !!!! I don’t need to say nothing more!! get adult staffing have these little kids running the facility!!
this is an athletic complex of the Olympic reserve. running, relay, long and high jump competitions are held here. I personally attended a class competition - Ocean breeze Elite 4*200. enjoyed what I saw. I recommend!
Beautiful. Close to station. I'm reallu looking forward to visiting during the summer. Da basketball courts are always active and full of energy!!!!
First off, the two gentlemen at the front desk are really great guys. This review is based on the fitness center and the system to register online.

First, you need to upload your ID to join but even trying various ways and getting phone support which was truly horrible by the way, I did not get the option to upload the ID. Truly horrible customer service person on the phone eventually emailed me a link that I was able to use. Now the fitness center is a small room without much equipment at 4 p.m. on a Friday. So there really wasn't much I could do as far as working out because everything was taken. It is free though so if you're in a situation where you really can't pay, this may be better than nothing but I don't think it's worth a 30 minute walk for me each way. Also, the lockers are on the third floor where the fitness room is on the main floor.... So people just put their jackets on the floor the fitness room. Can't bring your book bag inside because people use bookbags to steal the hand weights. I didn't even ask where people change.

The guy in the front knows the state of the gym because when I was leaving he asked if I was going to come back. Lol.

I'll give it two Stars instead of one because the staff is nice, it's free, and what do I expect from a community center? Lol.
This place never stopped to amaze me great atmosphere they did a few upgrades in the last time I went there perfect place to have it any type of tournament great and perfect environment for kids to progress and and to Showcase their talents
Always clean. Been coming here for over 20 years.

Wish they still had a vending machine or convenience store within the facility but it's been removed. Be sure to bring your own snacks and beverage.
A spacious venue for table tennis tournament; fits 20 tables easily. However, there was no air conditioning, just with minimum ventilation inside the facility. It was quite humid and hot during hot days. In addition, there were several clogged toilets in men’s restroom.
I go for my son's boxing class. They have a cool workout area for boxing, with 4 treadmills, a couple of practice rings and other equipment. The basketball gym is usually not occupied. The is a small dance studio and game room also, but all those things are usually closed when we get there.
Directly off the boardwalk, Jones Beach band shell is a free venue that puts on various shows throughout the summer months. Although there has been a lull in shows since covid, things are starting to come back to normal. The venue has bleacher seats around its exterior. The main floor area is fine for standing, although most people bring folding chairs. The music can also be heard from the boardwalk if you opt to sit there. Better acts fill up fast, like Beatles tribute bands. Police don't bother you if you're drinking something out of a solo cup. Restrooms are conveniently located nearby as is a restaurant. Parking is a bit of a walk, especially if you have a cooler without wheels. Although it's not like a Jones beach amphitheater volume level, I'd still suggest having earplugs on hand. Although it's outdoors, smoking is not permitted within the walls of the band shell.
They need to make official pickleball courts there. There are painted lines on the handball courts and not enough room from the back line. Your either hitting the gate or cement wall with your paddle. However, nice group of people. Thanks Eddie (Miriam)
The backpack give away was awsome...DC police were kind and welcoming!

Go before 12:30pm if you have small kids. We went there three times, two in the morning and one in the afternoon. Lots of big kids were there in the afternoon and they played a lot in ball games areas. Get you little one there in the morning, so they can enjoy all the areas.
Pickle ball courts are available supported by the players. Bathrooms are available... nice
I am posting this mid 2022- they just renovated the place and place looks so much better and fun...nice breeze comes from trees and u feel cool in some parts even in the afternoon so that's a plus...also 2 playgrounds one for toddlers and big kids.
If you like volleyball, pingpong, bad mitten, or pickle ball you should checkout Balboa Park Activity Center. They have a schedule you can pickup and find out al their planned tournaments and events. It’s huge and open to the public first come first serve.
Came here for my nephew’s birthday and it was so much fun! All my cousins were jumping and most importantly the birthday boy was having a great time! Birthday private room is very big and closed in glass with doors so I loved that. Thank you!!
Badminton courts generally are not too crowded on Wednesday, no such luck on Sundays though.
Horrible pickleball courts. The players are fantastic people. It’s so sad the most progressive city on the planet is so far behind supporting the fastest growing sport in America. #EpicFail for Central Park.
Very solid establishment with badminton and ping pong. Great place with friendly staff and it’s also clean here. Definitely enjoy this place a lot. Don’t ever come here because it’s a hidden gem and don’t tell anyone else about this place.
Great field but could be better. There is no water or restrooms nearby. Also, the parking is very limited. It is hard to find a good spot after 7 pm even when you have a game schedule
New rims and baskets. All types of programming for the kiddies. A track for walking or running. A playground for the kids, and a workout area for adults outside. Turkey thicket is a nice place to exercise or relax, and recreation center has a pool, a workout room, and various game rooms in addition to a basketball court / volleyball court.
The Marvin Gaye Recreation Trail (4.1 miles rountrip)

I did it alone but other women may feel nervous about this trail. If you’re nervous about urban settings then I wouldn’t recommend this trail. If you feel comfortable in a city or urban setting (like me) then this is a short and sweet 4 mile ride.

There’s a mix of flat/paved trail, sidewalks, and crossing a few streets. I enjoyed stopping at the signs to learn more about Black history. I also loved that there were a few community vegetable gardens along the way. The trail was low-key empty except for a few people walking their dog. The dog walkers were very friendly and courteous. All of the dogs were on leashes and the owners moved to the sides allow my bike to pass. I followed this path using the AllTrails map but it was a bit inaccurate towards the end. It leads you to a pair of stairs. I walked my bike down the stairs to continue the path to the end but ended up improvising and taking a slightly different route to get back. The trail has about 3 or 4 small playgrounds along the way. It also has a little splash pad for small kids. There’s not much “scenery” per se on this trail but I appreciate it being in an urban neighborhood which adds fitness, greenery, and Black history to the area. The recreation center was fire. It looks brand new though I didn’t go inside. The main park at Marvin Gaye Recreation Center is really nice too. The park is filled with music notes and the ground of the picnic shelter is painted like a piano. Definitely nice for this area. There was also an INTENSE basketball game next to the main playground. Idk if they were auditioning for the the NBA or what lol but it was packed. Too packed for me during COVID so I took a pic from a distance and left lol.

Overall, it’s nice to have this in the area. It’s so easy for beginners/newbies. The beginning is mainly flat and slightly downhill. Returning was mainly flat and slightly uphill. It didn’t require me to take any breaks as a beginner though I stopped for a few pics and a sip of water. This trail also has city bike rentals for those who don’t own a bike
The facility is great, but we have had multiple bad encounters with the staff. They will commonly gratuitously order you to do things in the pool that are not on the rule board. Power tripping.
Cute little playground nestled between tall buildings and the highway. The pool is closed, but the tennis and basketball courts were quite busy. There is also a small soccer field. Picnic tables and benches are shady, but the playground itself offers little shade. Bathrooms closed.
The center was okay, despite a very bad computer lab. The computers were very slow and only a few would be working decent at one time. Accessing them was a pain also.

Make sure to make a reservation other vise you will be waiting for hours
My children and I went to try out the VR! The games were horrible! It kept freezing up. Took forever to load. Besides the games malfunction, our guide told us that he couldn’t help us if we had questions bc he himself doesn’t know how to play these games himself. Suffice To say we will not be coming back!
Woodridge Warrior a lot of youngsters with good Character!
This place is a BLAST! You get your own private VR lounge instead of having to wait in lines for just one game at a time!

Staff was awesome and knowledgeable. Im new to VR and the staff introduced us to awesome starter games and experiences.

I am deff coming back!
I have come here a lot because my kid loves the splash park, natural shade from trees and usually it pretty empty early in the morning before noon in the summer.
My children love this playground...they ask to go all the time. It is a nautical theme which is really cute. I remember when it was a mcdonalds where that big bldg is in the background...i wish it was still there. It feels like someone is watching u over your shoulder...it's hard to explain and weird. Anyway, we will still visit sometimes. It's never dirty or crowded...just a cute playground just right for little kids!
I love to workout there. The staff are always personable; Smiling and laughing; Having fun with the community, always. It is just that the ewuipment is outdated. That is the only thing I would change. Update the equipment, guys!
We watch little league there. Nice baseball field. Good viewing area. Parking can be a hassle but usually find a spot. If you are going to baseball field ignore Google map last half mile.
Wonderful playground area for small children! The experience would be that much better if parks and recreation ever cut the grass at this park!
Nice free sports facilities inside Balboa Park. They have lots of table tennis tables that you can use and lots of people play there. Best price in town
Tennis courts are not great but usuable when it's not raining. Great fields for soccer, football and baseball. Nice courts for basketball. Great pool and playground area. The center itself needs to be renovated.
Improved, clean, more open space than my last visit, no hassles, outside food allowed(no drinks), drinks availablefor purchase, wondeful Bday party supporting staff...Changed my review to 5 stars (from 2 stars)...impressive and very cooperative staff...all the kids enjoyed every minute of stay...it was funfilled Bday party...I would recommend

We didn’t like the place , VR room had only 4 games 2 broken , mask (goggles ) must be clean after each player , the place looks dirty and smells , they mention sipline online it was supposed to be included in the price we paid .. they don’t have one !!!! staff kids Friday night are awesome that why I’m giving the two starts😒
Searching for a tunnel with water running through it. I say there are three. Map says three. Can only find two.

Anyone up to the challenge to locate the third on?

The nature paths are overwhelmingly beautiful and, if you are in the area, are not to be missed.
This is a spacious, clean facility that houses indoor track and field events. Plenty of parking is available, but costs $20. Event entrance is in the rear, but limited street-side parking is available if your willing to walk 15-20 minutes.
Great place to take the family. There's an indoor pool, a huge playground area for kids, tennis court, basketball court inside and out, and a large field the kids can play on. Plus there's a track around the field that you can walk or jog on.

Great space and experience … if everything worked. Only 1 of 2 Racing VR Installations was working. The one that did work, stopped having audio and haptics working halfway.

1 of the 2 VR standing booths didn't have working audio and some games just crashed / couldn't run. Last Hope, one of the only co-op games we were hoping to play, didn't work on both booths.

Instructor was great. But management is over-charging for things that just don't work. There are better value VR places around NYC.
REC DAY is the best that happens at Randall Park each Fall. Great job #DPR #FitDC #WeAreWashington #Seriously

The track is smoothly paved. The basketball court has rims that are still attached. Indoor swimming pool, fitness center, basketball court, and more. I'm easy to please so 5 stars. Why not?
Fun water features during the summer. My 3 year old loves it so I don't mind its issues.
The park used to be gorgeous but is not very well maintained. Better maintained than most parks this side of the river, though (has all it's swings intact). Feels safe due to the layout and sight lines to both ends of the block, but also makes it a good spot for dealers.
My school is across from it. We go to this park for Recess and just to chill.
The splash park area and new basketball court is nice, but too many thugs in the area. Drug deal are common here. Not a place to bring kids. I wish local police would patrol like they used to.
I play pick up basketball here fairly regularly, and would say I have a good time doing it. It's mostly neighborhood kids and some adults that play more on the weekends. There's also tennis center with at least two courts, a large space for baseball/soccer, and the rec center itself.

Highly recommend if you want to get some exercise in! There's decent street parking nearby that's paid parking but its free on Sunday!
A unique playground inspired by the musical genius, Marvin Gaye, this location boasts creative design equipment shaped like different instruments. Many of them really play music. Next door there is an amazing indoor recreation center that offers a safe place for the youth and seniors of the community.
This is a wonderful facility with a welcoming vibe. The dance room has a beautiful floor and mirrors for practice. The accoustics for our music were much better than I've seen at other similar venues.
Super friendly customer service, the main staff at the front desk all know me by name and I appreciate that. The children's programs, especially the early childhood programs, seem strong and well established. I've only ever come here to use the weights, and I've become significantly stronger and bigger, given the limited tools to work with. It is a less known gym in DC, so it is usually very easy to get in and out while achieving a full workout- within 45 minutes. They really need to clean the weight room and locker rooms more thoroughly, though. I would volunteer to deep clean it myself if they'd let me. I dropped chalk in the locker room once and the residue was there for the rest of the week, the rollers are used out of order, the majority of the lockers' fixtures are busted and/or the lockers stink and have old gym clothes in them - it's not cool, our tax dollars pay for the wages paid here, and more stern/attentive management could go a long way. I've also inquired about donating money to improve the weight room facilities via email but was never replied to. Overall, I like the neighborhood vibe, the friendliness of the staff, and the ease of accessibility to the facilities.
Never tried VR before. This was me and my friends first time. Facility is great. You get a private VR Lounge that has 2 stand up stations and 2 race car stations. Great price for what you get. The operators made our experience alot of fun and helped guide us an overall excellent experience for us since we were new to VR! Deff would come back!
Love to go play table tennis there. Great facilities and great players

I've been to several VR events and a couple of places in the city. This place rocked by far. Me and my girlfriend walked in to play laser-tag but they were full so they offered us a Vr station to share for $40 an hour. We stayed 2 hours! Awesome date spot, staff were super friendly and they knew there stuff. Thumbs Up.
Great place for Badminton. Mondays and Wednesdays they turn into volleyball courts so you can't Badminton after a certain time.
There is a wait if you go during the peak hours. Thursday evenings and Saturday mornings are usually crowded. But you can still find a court but you will have to wait. They also give you a racquet if you are a newbie so feel free to drop by even if you don't have equipment.
Nice facility and great staff. Volleyball open play Monday and Wednesday 5:30pm - 8:30pm. Only drawback is when it rains some parts of the ceiling leaks so they will shut down the courts.
The courts (tennis) have been resurfaced and they're all kinds of awesome...
Really pretty legit. Decent weight room, basketball court, computer lab, fitness classes. Free for DC residents. I go there regularly and am glad this exists in my community.
Think about this: private businesses (Washington Sports Clubs), nonprofits (YMCA), and government (parks and recreation) all provide gyms. I am a millennial minimalist, a pro government democrat, and community diversity loving socialist; so I will go with the CoHi community center every time. Basketball open gym Monday, Wednesday, Friday and Saturday's: free! Weight room: small fee. Community: priceless.
Great neighborhood. lots of kids to mingle with. Great basketball courts outside. The locals love being outside.
My kids have practice and some of their events here occasionally. It's a decent field and recreation center. The grounds are well lit at night. Easily accessible by car and bus. The only issue is that the locals usually come and hang out there. They curse and smoke and act up, not all the time but more times than not. Wouldn't be a problem if there weren't children around. Other than that it's OK.
