This was a really fun way to spend an afternoon as a family. A bit on the pricy side but not as bad as other activities. A few things. Bring water, none is provided on the course. Wear hiking boots, there’s just enough walking over rough terrain to make it uncomfortable. Be prepared to carry the zip line trolleys. They’re not heavy but a bit awkward. Overall a great experience but there was too many people on our tour… too much waiting.

Some friends suggested a weekend getaway, so we made a reservation at Pocono Whitewater for a Dam Release trip. We had an amazing day on the water. The whole process was seamless, parking, check-in, briefing etc. Our guides gave the briefing and we used every bit of information they gave us. What an adventure, you had moments of calm relaxing float down mixed with moments of excitement as you were challenged by the class I, II & III rapids. I can't wait to go do it again... We also did the bike ride the next day which was equally as fun. Kudos to a well run company.
Its a great free kayaking place! The kayak area isnt that big but its nice to see the view of skyscrapper while kayaking.. its completely free, just come a bit earlier if you dont want to wait in a really long line. Line start from 10am till 3pm
For the money and convenience it can't be beat. It's clean with adequate equipment for a workout. Nice pool. Definitely no frills. It's what I call an "in and out" kind of gym.

We had our sons 7th birthday here. Tables were set up beautifully with all the things needed. Our son and his friends had the best time climbing. Big thanks to Sammy the manager on that day and Gavin for helping with all the kids. Perfect place to host a party!
Really nice big public pool. Free for DC residents; $7 for guests. 4 lap lanes, 2 shallower ends, deep center, and separate fenced-in kiddie pool.
Beware if you are a Muslim woman who wears a headscarf because there is a guy that accompanied the tour with us who made certain comments that ruined the experience for me as it was my first time zip lining. He pointed at my hijab telling me I have to wear a helmet. I didn’t know if he meant I needed to take it off or that it would be an inconvenience in general. Regardless, the headscarf wouldn’t get in the way. He even commented on my attire saying that next time I should wear something tighter. It was very rude and unprofessional. Overall, the experience would’ve been better if the staff wasn’t make such disgusting comments during the tour. It showed a lack of education and quite honestly I wouldn’t recommend to friends and family. The guy was short, skinny, white, and always wore a hat. He talked too much during the tour so if you run into him, you should ask for another tour guide.

All the volunteers are nice and helpful. They have lockers and a changing room. All you need to do is sign a waiver, they give you a key and lock and get on kayaking 😅. Beautiful views of Freedom Tower and Edge and jersey city skyline. They have so many kayaks. No need to worry about waiting for one . People are constantly come in and out the water. I will definitely return.

Best cleaning crew I have seen bathrooms always clean
It's nice that the park has climbing and slide structures for small, medium and large kids. What is so horrible and why I continue to have a bad time at this park is that it has become a graveyard for large toys which distracts kids from what the park has to offer. Parents bring their old large toy cars, pushing/walking toys and much more to the park and just leave them. Most of the time they are broken and they just sit there getting rained on (see also: mosquitos). Parents think they are doing something nice by "donating" their toy to the park but I find it to not benefit the kids and believe the park would be better off without these junk toys
Don't go here if you are trying to swim laps. I've come here on multiple occasions and was told that the pool is closed even though there is nobody in the pool and it is not being used for anything else. When there aren't swimming events being held at the pool, there are very limited times where you are actually able to swim laps making it very impractical if you are trying to work on your swimming.
We went to kill time but ended up having an exceptional experience and would highly recommend. Jason went above and beyond to help my 4 year old who ended up climbing to the top of one of the walls. Jason helped my son's confidence and was so supportive. We'll be back for sure.
Really fun Zipline course with guides. There's three main Zipline courses that criss-cross the lake. Takes about an hour and a half. It's part of the larger Mountain Creek resort which includes a water park, mountain bike path, hotel, ski resort, etc..

The whole trip is 8 miles and it took about 3 hr 45 minutes in the water and lunch break about 20 minutes. The bus ride to/from the rafting place is about 40 minutes.
Overall very smooth and nice experience and definitely 5 star rating. I recommend to everyone this for a day family fun adventure activity.

I purchased my tickets online but I mistakenly assigned the wrong ones to the wrong children- just a heads up if you are buying multiple tiers like me- I did Platinum and under 5 tickets- make sure you see who you are assigning each one for.
When I arrived and went to the front desk, I tried to explain my issue to the first sales associate ,she helped fix some of the process but stepped away. The manager Ahmad and a separate sales associate Linda continued to help and had everything sorted out. I will say as soon as you walk in it is sensory overload- you already see alot happening while at the check in area, so trying to explain anything can be ultra confusing. But Ahmad was extremely helpful, listened attentively and kept the kids excited. Something else to note- try to have everyone who you purchased tickets for present when you are checking in if not you will have to continue to go back to the front desk, I think this is done to ensure everyone has a waiver assigned. Large space of indoor playhouse for kids. You can walk around inside without a ticket. AC is cool. Kid's birthday parties.
The river water has been cleaned & the river is open to small water boats ,if you into boating.
We had a good experience at Pocono Whitewater Rafting. Once you arrived and checked in, they will provide life jackets that is mandatory for everyone. They will then go through a safety briefing. Then you will take a 20 minute bus ride to where you board your raft. Your legs or bottom half (depending on how tall you are) will get wet when you get into the raft. Once you're on the raft, your group will be able to paddle between the staff in the front and the back. Staff was friendly, informative, and safety-oriented. You won't be able to swim until you get to the designated swimming sections. Water is cold, so you won't want to jump in unless you don't mind the cold.

Had my twins birthday party here. Jason was a pleasure to work with from beginning to end. Staff was also attentive and polite. Everyone had a great time. Thank you for everything.

badminton courts have been wrong dimensions for years. As of May 2023 the court is still wrong ( its longer on one side than the other) and the set schedule is often canceled for last minute events that the staff comes up with

We had a great time on our excursion. Shelby was our guide and did an amazing job. You arrive and check in, get your gear, then there is a safety briefing. You hop on a bus for a 20 minute ride to the river. We chose the Family Style White Water package. It’s 8 miles of river (not gonna lie it was tough physically) with a break in the middle for lunch. I would 100% recommend trying it if you’ve never been.
Fun colorful walls to climb at the end of the food court. Love the idea of having all these physical attractions to break the monotony of walking and eating in the mall. Check it out.

A beautiful outdoor space with people running, reading and enjoying picnics. Stunning views of downtown while still feeling secluded from it all.
I went to this place with some doubts, but I was completely mistaken. It's a bit pricey, not exactly affordable for your average low-income New Yorker. However, if you're looking to give your kids an amazing time, this is definitely the place to go. The energy that the little ones, and even the not-so-little ones, use to run, jump, climb, and move around is absolutely incredible. The staff here clearly knows what kids need and want. Invest your time with your kids here, and they'll have a blast!
Huge gym..parking right out front for $40..they have a little consetion stand for chops and Gatorade.
This was our first time here and we had a great time! I have an 11 year old a 9 year old and a 4 year old and all of us had a blast. It truly is fun for the whole family. My 4 year old daughter is also handicapped with a left leg amputation and the staff went above and beyond to make sure she was not only included but kept safe as well. Other places have turned us away because she is not “able bodied” enough in case of an emergency. But not this place! They put a guide on our boat with us to ensure her safety. I want to personally thank Alex (the guide on our boat) she was very professional,competent,helpful,friendly and amazing with the kids. She really helped to make the experience one to remember! So thank you Alex! We can’t say enough good things about you :) The staff are all very friendly actually. There are a lot of people in these groups and only a handful of guides. There is a bit of “waiting around” to make sure everyone has gotten their safety briefing as well as making sure we all stay together and nobody gets left behind. It’s wonderful just to spend time with the family out in this beautiful scenery, the “waiting” wasn’t even an issue for us we just heard some people complaining about it but with this many people on this big of a river, they need to put safety first. I highly recommend and will definitely be returning :)
We took our twins yesterday to celebrate their 4th birthday and they had such a great time they cried when we had to leave. I was a little apprehensive because of the bad reviews saying it was unclean, long line to get in and the workers were rude. I'm happy to say I didn't experience any of that. There wasn't a line at all to get in, every worker that I engaged with was pleasant ,helpful and the place was clean. There were a TON of kids which was expected and it wasn't overbearing. My kids were able to navigate the trampolines with no issues. I do wish they had more activities for the smaller kids. Outside of that my older kids had fun with all the activities since they were taller. This place is really catered to 5 and up.
We had a great experience kayaking at Pier 26 today. The staff was very friendly and they were volunteers. If you go early in the morning when they open, they will tell you that you don’t need to kayak for 20 minutes, as it is suggested, but you can stay a little bit longer because they have plenty of kayaks. We did donate $10 each even though they never asked for it but just keep in mind if you have a great time and a good experience these people are working for free. So If you can, either you make a donation or give them a tip or both!
Pretty fun, but there was a lot of waiting around. This is my second time going here, signed up for the dam release, the safety briefing was relatively quick, the bus ride over was pretty terrible. We were sitting for a significant amount of time. We were told at the beginning we would have our own raft (as a group of 3), but they joined us with another group of 3, so slightly annoyed, but the guys were alright. One of the guide kept pronouncing my name wrong. Overall was fun, I would definitely recommend at least getting the lower half of the wet suit and shoes if it’s cold, the top half seemed a bit unnecessary. There also seemed to be a lack of instruction, our group got ahead and the guide didn’t really give us any instruction. only other complaint is pricing on the photos, they tried to get us to buy 2 digital copies for $25 each (really?). Other than that most of the staff was pretty cool. Just wish it was a little more organized.

I've heard about this facility for a long time and can't believe it took me this long to sign up for their league.
The league management is tier one and the facility does not disappoint.
There are probably 8 and a half full length basketball courts that all have state-of-the-art scoreboards and the the floors look newly renovated.
If you're looking for a league that's well-ordanized and has good competition, Basketball City is definitely where it's at!

Good center, in decent shape with a lot of programs for all ages, including gym and fitness. Scheduling and availability is a problem. Worth the trouble.
This place is such a great idea and such a wonderful space for kids of all ages BUT the staff needs to be a little older. Everyone that works there seems to be extremely young and they seem under enthused to work. The food court area is an absolute disaster and not very clean. I appreciated that they had plenty of Gatorade but the food choices lacked. I was perhaps expecting healthier choices. The pizza has absolutely no flavor whatsoever but looks delicious. Your best bet is to bring your own food and carry a backpack to store your things.

We had a group of 7 kids, instructors were great and did an awesome job making sure everything was safe and kids were helped when needed. Definitely recommend this place. Will be back again
We came for a birthday party and it was awesome. It is a busy spot. My 6 years old jumped on the trampoline forever. It was so cool. We loved it. It is noisy but without beat clash. We enjoyed the music.

I did my 13 year old birthday to my girl there and everyone had so much fun! It was a bit expensive, but worth it! Good fun for all ages and the kids get so excited because it's a New place...we loved it!

I took my kids to an event yesterday and I was blown away, not only by the fun space that was enjoyable to a huge range of ages- but the staff was incredible!! There were sooooo many kids yet they stayed calm, cool and friendly the entire time!! I was so impressed!!!
They did they love the space when they host events but the staff was very rude and disgusting especially to rush people out when I had a 2 hour limit they rushed me the 2nd I got there
Nice facility but there are always events on the basketball court making it very difficult to actually use it, and they don't post the schedule anywhere so you have to call every time you want to go (just to get told more than half the time that the court isn't open). Not worth the membership if you primarily just wanted a place to hoop.

Would be a perfect place to swim if it weren't for the fact that the pool is like a hot tub. Anyone attempting to actually swim laps will quickly become overheated and dehydrated. The management explained that they keep it hot for the seniors who like it that way. On my recent visit, the lifeguard was not enforcing circle swimming. Circle swimming has been a rule at every city pool I've been to and it is much safer. This pool is the only city pool I've been to that lets people swim any which way, like a YMCA.
Excellent affordable place for a kids birthday party! They decorate for you and provide utensils, plates, cups, napkins and clean up! I was able to request the colors I wanted for my daughters birthday. They are very quick with responding via email. You have a private space behind the wall and it looked so pretty. All you do is bring your own cake/pizza. The kids had a blast!!! Loved it.I highly recommend!
Let me start off by saying the tour itself and the guides were great, so why the 2 star rating you ask? The rating stems from the fact that you pay up front for your party to attend this and there is zero flexibility if a member of your party can no longer attend for any reason. I am not in the business of donating money to any company, if a person is unable to attend a refund should be provided for that person. Anyone that plans to do a zip tour know that you'll have a great time, the guides will be very helpful and friendly, but be sure your entire party can make the event or you will be in a situation like myself, donating money, as the company will not refund if there is a cancellation on the day of the event.
The best secret in NYC. Everything is free and there's no catch! Paddle, life preserver, kayak, lock and key. Volunteer and get to go on trips! Volunteers are super friendly, knowledgeable, and helpful. Excellent experience. Wonderful place to volunteer.
This is one of the best New York City Parks and it is indoors, with a very clean environment, swimming pool, pool tables, ping pong tables, Basket ball, picket ball and much more.

Adorable recreation area for children with multiple play structures, benches, picnic areas, and a splash pad. Several toys and items left by the locals and most children are monitored by parents. Restrooms on site but don't always have toilet paper. Busy on the weekends and hot days, but otherwise manageable.
Tough because this is my home and I love it!!! However the Anacostia Pool is posted as a 6pm closing time however they close at 5:45pm. All I needed was 10 minutes!!! Again I love this place and space, this spot was my 1st summer job at 16, just hurt.

Bathrooms are dirty. Space is good The toddlers have a separate really run space. Dog park. Tennis court. Baseball diamond. Picnic tables and benches. Overall it's a good spot.

This has been a kid friendly, neighborhood park for well over a decade, now. The splash features are kids' favorites. Thankfully they've finally fenced off the ball field to prevent dog owners from letting their pets poop where kids play. That upgrade was a long time coming.
This is a very nice playground and recreation area - but one that is known to many. There is a baseball field here, done small kids toys and equipment, some basketball courts and a smaller area for intermediate kids (say 11 and under). There seems to be an office there as well as some restrooms that are icky...
There was a homeless gent there, but I haven't seen him in av while - wish him good luck.

Great lunch spot next to the river
There are tennis courts, a basketball court, playgrounds and plenty of trees for shade. There was a local group playing by the grassy area last time I was there. Tennis courts tend to get very busy on the weekends, so make sure to write down your name on the board. People tend to play longer than an hour which can get annoying. It’s relatively easy to find parking.
Decent kids playground basketball courts and fields for all ages .. love the splash park the most .. this park def needs a renovation as the bathroom and building seems like it has not been touched in 30 years ..

I haven't been in this park in over 20 years. I was truly impressed with how clean it is and the many park police that were roaming the grounds. This is truly an historical park for African Americans that were raised in SE, DC. Large clean grassy areas, pool, playground facilities and plenty parking. A great place to host any event. Hats off to the city....WELL DONE WITH THE UPKEEP!!!
Good Farmers Market on Wednesdays. Mostly prepared foods, with two fish vendors, and one produce vendor. Plus one scratch vendor. A lot of bakeries including Mediterranean. One stand with prepared Mediterranean food.

Anacostia Pool & Recreation Center is located at Anacostia Park. Amenities Include a outdoor Pool, Playground, Tennis Courts, Soccer/Football Fields, Baseball Fields, Basketball Court, Picnic Tables, Walking Trail Along the River and Plenty of Open Space, Parking and Bike Rentals at the Park.
This is a very easy to access surfing wave that has a forgiving pool underneath it. It's also a great place to practice boofs above the hole.
rec center needs total make over. The tennis court is the busiest in the city but in a terrible condition. if it rains it’s just water paddle everywhere. The fence is falling off the light for evening is dim. DCPR if you are listening please do something.
There r stairs that lead u down to water's edge .you still can see the action from above on Deveroux road .there r only a few parking spots .
I ride my bicycle there. Sit on the rocks at the water's edge and watch the rafters and the surfers .

Nice playground and easy to park at considering its in Georgetown. It gets a bit crowded though which is concerning during the current pandemic.
Great COVID testing site. Easy parking. No line! Good spacing between people. Way to go DC with the great testing sites!
Cute, small playground. There are also basketball and tennis courts, a baseball field and a walking path. Plenty of benches. The rec center has a bathroom. Street parking only.
Me and my friends go down every Sunday to play basketball. I love this park. Peaceful, the pool helps for a good breeze, and its relatively clean for the most part.

I needed a winter pool once the summer pools had shut. This is a surprisingly good modern facility.
Great competition standard 25 yard pool with morning laps 7 - 10am.
At $75 for six months this place is highly recommended.

Great basketball courts, competition. Parking is $20, which sucks and it can be hard to find parking on a busy tournament day.
Basketball City is a huge event venue along the east river in Manhattan. On December 8, 2018 Pandora Music service hosted their annual Holiday Celebration with Post Malone, SZA and Cheat Codes among them.
Great park for summer! Children’s park for all ages, basketball courts, toilet was pretty clean & the water fountains are fabulous! Lots of shade to sit in. Definitely busy on the weekends, but worth the drive!
I love this park! Not only very convenient for the neighborhood but also very practical! It has a basketball field, 3 tennis courts and two practice walls! I love to spend some times here and practice my strokes when I get a chance! I definitely recommend this tennis courts if you looking for nice ones in the NW area!
Large park with plenty of facilities, including pool and numerous tennis courts. Can get a bit crowded and doesn't have the newest and best maintained equipment, but is still a great spot, especially with the usual high demand for tennis courts elsewhere in the neighborhood.
There's a nice track and baseball field here. If you come to this track don't bring anything you don't want to run with. There are homeless people in this area and they are known to steal your stuff while you're working out. Other than that it's safe. At night it's lit up (most of the time). If you go at night or once it's dark, I suggest to go with a buddy. If you don't have a buddy you'll be okay. I've never been hurt or had anything stolen. I've heard stories of people getting their stuff taken and they ended up chasing down the homeless guy lol.
Great park and playground with basket, tennis, seesaw, monkey bars, swings, baseball field l, toilets. It's well kept and family friendly, but much to my son's dismay, the basketball court is often busy with adults playing so he doesn't get a go at the hoops.
It's clean and safe, but the bathrooms could stay open later. They also book some sports on top of each other in the Baseball Field.
They do not have any contingency plans for communicating when they have groups using their center for after hours events. They could have a messaging system that would include bus routes, events for the week or month, and contact numbers in case of emergency or weather conditions, street closures, etc that will affect attendees. But, they only answer their phones during working hours, and have no such options. Please talk to the Friends of Rose Park to get some action on this important line of communication.
