I was a member for 14 years , all the previous comments about lack of leadership, promises not kept, and “board of directors “ aka buddies of the general manager not listening are so true. The clubhouse is old and dated , the men’s locker room has smelled like mildew for years , and course conditions has been on a decline for the last few seasons.
I didn’t have a problem with dues going up , I did have an issue when I discovered a few members are given liberties when it came to getting tee times . They’re apparently able to make tee times two and three weeks out , usually consuming the prime times , also being able to block off 5 concurrent times.
Rules state 7 days in advance no more than 2 concurrent times.
It’s a shame the club would compromise all the other dues paying members to accommodate a certain few. The weekend “lottery” system is also manipulated to appease the group .
Unfortunately, I ended up leaving and joining another club in the area. There’s so much potential at Montgomery CC, however it won’t reach its potential until a total overhaul takes place.

Tustin Ranch Golf Course recently made a lot of improvements to the fairways and rough. The greens are rolling nice as of November 2023. Its a medium difficulty course with the tiered greens being the only real defense to low scores. Its pricey on weekends but still a great value.

For the price, this was a great golf course!!! The layout and design was fun. There are some challenging green complexes. Greens were fast and you don’t want to be above the hole.

There were a few rough areas that were not in great shape. But they were not in play. The other negative was golfers not raking bunkers and not fixing ball marks on the green.

The course was in great shape. The staff was super friendly.

I would come back and play this course anytime I am in the area.
The course itself is nice, the management was all over the place.

To start, we went go get our cart and the person managing them was visually upset and confused already. We asked which cart we are assigned and, at first, he just gave me the pointer finger (signalling please wait) which was rude. Then, they give us a number of a cart that was already driving off.

Secondly, they allowed someone who booked a tee time at a completely different club house to play their tee time here but then they got upset when we were moving too slow. We finished the hole we were "moving slow" on and at the following hole we still had to wait for the next group in front of us finish anyways.....

How is it our fault that they allowed someone to play here that didn't even have a tee time here and get upset that we are moving slow...? We had to wait for them to start first. We were already 10 minutes behind our tee time when we were at hole 1. The group behind us pull up to hole 1 before we could even start... what a mess.

Doubtful that I will be returning. Unfortunate because I am only 10 minutes from this course but I would rather go to a course that doesn't blame you for their own mistake.
Course was in great shape, and the greens were rolling fast!
I had my graduation party this past weekend. All my guests had the best time. The room looked beautiful. The weather was perfect so my guests were also outside in the gorgeous garden. The staff were very attentive and provided great service. Thank you to Amy for helping me coordinate the party from the set up, flowers, and bakery. She is so knowedgable and made the planning easy. It was so nice to just show up and not worry about anything.
Blue Ridge Shadows is very well-kept with great staff. The bartender Maren was very personable and kind. I will be coming back!
If there’s a local gem that truly deserves the title of 'golfer's paradise', it has to be Silver Lake Country Club in Orland Park. Having played numerous rounds here, I can confidently say that this place provides an unparalleled golfing experience.

To start with, you're spoiled for choice with two full-length 18-hole courses and a par 3 course. No matter your skill level, there's a challenge awaiting you at Silver Lake. The course conditions are always impeccable. The greens, in particular, are a testament to the dedication and hard work of the maintenance staff – they're consistently well-kept, smooth, and offer just the right amount of challenge.

Beyond the play, what makes Silver Lake truly stand out is the staff. They are not only professional but also go out of their way to be accommodating and helpful. From the moment you step in, there's a sense of warmth and welcoming that makes every golfing session feel like a homecoming.

For anyone seeking a day of quality golf or looking to hone their skills in a friendly and pristine environment, Silver Lake Country Club should be at the top of your list. A hole-in-one experience every time!

Highly recommended! ⛳️🏌️‍♂️👏🏼
My husband and I got married at Silver Lake a year ago, and everything was amazing. Amy was wonderful to work with. The venue looked beautiful the day of the wedding, and the food was delicious.
We had an outing with 28 players and they were very accommodating...the decks were redone with composition flooring...vast improvement.

Some of the mats are a bit wore out but quality facilities otherwise. Friendly staff, great environment.
Love the driving range here. It's the closest golf range near my house and I take my kids here to practice as well. Great place to learn golf.
Live this place and the staff

Great events

One of my top picks

@Justin Moy review. In 27 years of playing Mount Prospect, I have never seen or experienced anything like Justin Moy's review suggests, and the post lacks details justifying the claim. Could it be you ran across a cranky group of players who reacted rudely to a group of lost players and would do so to anybody they came across? You assumed their rude response has to do with skin color, assumed the group you experienced has anything to do with the course, assumed that those rude players have ever been tobthe course before or since, and you assume anybodys disposition is based on your presence. Suggesting people of color not visit the course, based on experiences anybody can have with others on a golf course, is irresponsible and harmful to much more than a golf course business. All people are welcome to the course, and I invite you to come play with me and hang out on the patio to socialize after.

This place has been downhill ever since the new owners took over. Jacked up the prices on everything and planning on closing it down to build more housing developments. Theyre ruining Ocean County with over development. Owners are cheap and extremely rude. Dont waste your time with this place.

It was no fuss, just practice @ ur own pace.
Really fun, very challenging course. First time playing here and we played Ridge/Links. Course was in very good shape, really pretty design. Only negative was that golfers need to do a better job repairing ball marks.

Will definitely return!

Nice green maintenance, not desert parts :)
The most tee boxes have belly :(
Nice staffs, thank you, Mr. Lee.
Welcoming mode !!! Friendly atmosphere.
Nice green designs.
I didn't have good scores but fair, and it was a perfect weekend.

Visited the driving range & it was very nice! I paid $7 for a bucket of 58. Well priced compared to ranges in nova... The range itself has a lot of targets to aim at, including water and sand areas. Well kept range with plenty of spots to practice at!

Drove 45 min from DC to hit off the grass only to be told the grass is “member’s only” on weekends. Tee box area was wide open and still no luck. It’s fine if that’s the rule, but at least put it on the website/brochure to save people a drive. I just double checked the pricing online and no mention of it. Wasted two hours.

Edit: appreciate the response. I’d suggest adding it on the “Practice Range” and “Price List” pages. It didn’t occur to me that there’d be a third place to look when both those pages reference the grass range hours/costs.
I’m sorry to hear you’re closing for the rest of 2023. I know the flooding was very destructive, but I am frustrated how you’ve treated people who have memberships. We haven’t been able to play all season & you won’t return our money.
Played 18 as a single (paired with 3 other golfers) on 8.10.2023 and teed off at 7:50 am. Blue tees. Got around in exactly 4 hours. Course was in decent shape although there were some patchy areas on a few fairways and greens. Online green fees were $112 which in my view was not outrageous in hindsight. Range balls were pricey and need to be refreshed. The track itself is nice, somewhat challenging, and overall I give it a thumbs up. All staff members were polite and helpful.
I haven't played this course in a couple years, I was happy to see it's still in great shape. Pin placement was a bit of a challenge but had fun. Definitely would recommend & would return!

Course in excellent condition. Friendly starter and staff. Greens challenging but overall worth playing for sure.
I’ve been a guest many times for different weddings and events at the country club, and the service was always excellent and the food has always been wonderful. This past Sunday I hosted my nieces bridal shower there, and I cannot rave enough about everything from start to finish. Amy was incredibly helpful, guiding me towards a menu that my niece would love. The wait staff was incredibly friendly and helpful when it came to getting chocolate milk for the kids and just in general. It was like having members of our own family help out during the day. We ended up getting the brunch and when I tell you the food is amazing, I 100% whole heartedly mean it. I’ve never been somewhere and had people rave about the eggs. Even the kids loved the eggs and they are three of the pickiest children I have ever met in my life. And the view from the club room was beautiful. It was perfect and I cannot thank Silver Lake Country club enough for helping me put together such a wonderful shower.

What an awesome place with incredibly friendly staff. I had a small birthday party here 7/30 and the staff were just great to work with. Facility is beautiful and conveniently located. Highly recommend!!
I would advise people of color to avoid this course due to unwelcoming staff. The atomosphere was off and we did not feel like we belonged here. During our first visit, my group got lost while searching for the third hole, leading us to loop around. Coincidentally, we arrived at the same time as a group of older gentlemen who reacted rudely, yelling at us for our confusion. We are casual weekend golfers seeking to enjoy ourselves, despite an unpleasant atmosphere and the rude group in front of us. We chose not to let this ruin our experience and had fun playing the course. We will not be returning to this course, there are many other excellent golf courses in IL.
70th BD party ! Awesome place to host a dinner , wedding reception , a party w/room for a band or DJ . Beautiful interior ! Love WGC !!
Amazing spot. (3) 9 hole courses (Pines, Ridge, Links) all very different. Great staff. Beer and food are always at the ready. Great operation. Worth the money.
The course is well kept and is challenging, however if you are looking for ANY type of service in the clubhouse restaurant you won’t get it. Walked in after 18 holes to a blonde “employee” sitting on her phone in the middle of the lobby and she was very bothered when I asked to see a menu. When I tried to order she told me they were out of almost everything. I left immediately, unfortunately the good golf course received 2 stars from me personally due to my awful experience in the clubhouse restaurant. Great place if you just want to golf and leave. Not for a roundabout good time
A golf course that charges $80 and then there is no grass on the rough just sand and dirt, average greens, tee boxes that are unleveled and patchy and unfriendly staff. never again. Save your money and go play at shark river hills or pebble creek
Never again. $80 to play on a course where the rough around the greens doesn’t exist. Patches of dirt everywhere, burnt grass, and let’s not talk about the tee boxes. What a waste of money. Please stay out of this place.

If we’re paying $126 for a 5+hour round due to overcrowding on a holiday weekend, there needs to be water on the course. Absolute insanity it wasn’t even put out. Course was in good shape, but take care of your customers.
Had a great round today with my son taking me for Father’s Day. Nice course, we play 10-27, it’s challenging but well manicured . Greens were wet in the morning and slow but dried out nicely on the back nine. Fairways were nice. Staff is nice. Pace of play on a Saturday was great. Definitely will return. Played with two really nice millennials who hit really well.
Cardboard pizzas?? Terrible drinks. Nice view and clean place
Great spot in the area! Good conditioned greens. Some work needed between tee and green. Nice staff in Restuarunt. Gas carts, no gps.
Played this course for the first time. Really enjoyed it. Fast, challenging green complexes. Course condition was very good. Sand in bunkers was very wet - only real negative. Very nice practice areas. Look forward to playing there again.

Nice little hideaway that's very affordable. The staff is very friendly. The greens could use a little TLC but all in all it was a good experience
Beautiful course on a normal day but this fall is exceptional. A great place for golf, well priced and lots of things to avoid!!! The food is great also.
We attended a wedding and reception. Both were beautiful. The wait staff and bar tenders were very friendly and accommodating.
This course is 9 holes. To play 18, you play the white tees as the front 9 and then the blue tees as the back 9. Gets a little confusing on some holes. Refer to the scorecard for the diagram. Course is in rough (bad) shape. Most fairways have large bare spots (i.e. mud) and the greens are a mess. A couple greens are almost un-puttable. That means if you play 18, the number doubles. The greens are also tiny, so yes, you have to be accurate. The price is $22 (per person for 18), but not worth playing again.
Great place to golf
Invited as a guest. Staff was wonderful and personable. Food was delicious especially the dessert!
Beautiful club. Great place to hold an event. I was at a 70th birthday party, and it was elegant. The food was good, and the service was awesome.
People complained that our group (4 golfers) did a 4 hour and 30 mins 18 holes. Not amazing golfers but supporters of the golf course. The management took sides of a duo that complained of our golf speed while also starting roughly 10 mins late of tee time. Disappointed in management in taking sides with a duo golf team. If spending 320 bucks I would rather take my business somewhere else were I can enjoy a round of golf even if I would have to spend more money. It isn’t an issue for the team just want to enjoy a round of golf without people complaining. Miss the old ownership mitchel and spencer running the course. Recommend heritage eagle over this golf course.
Course was in good condition. Liked the electric cart with GPS. Pace of play was good, greens were more difficult than most in the area but as mentioned, in good condition. Staff was friendly. Price was good, and food good as well. Parking was limited. On a busy day it might be a problem.
Enjoyed the round.
Amazing golf course, greens were great, firm fast and great conditions overall. A hidden gem!! Food was great with plenty of options on tap and drink options. Service was phenomenal, an absolute great value overall. Mike the pro is awesome and had a great conversation with him, looking forward to being back! Place is great!!!!
The one thing keeping most of the members around is the golf course as for the money it used to be good value. But since dues have gone up and the departure of the long time Superintendent, the course conditions continue to get worse by the day. Today is Sunday of the Masters and the pin locations have not been changed in over 3 days, the greens are dying and there is no more first cut. It's absolutely pathetic that the management increases dues on their members but the experience and quality is getting to a point where members are beginning to look elsewhere for a better value -- what Montgomery Country Club used to be.
Montgomery was once a place I’d take friends and family for lunch or dinner, to play a quick 9/18, and to just hang out. This just isn’t the same place anymore. The clubs value was always in the course. Better conditions than other clubs and every public course in the area. That just isn’t the case anymore. Dues continuously go up while course conditions fail to be maintained or improved. The short game area has been promised for years and was exciting to hear about when I joined. Prospective members are told the same details about the same practice facility for the last 6 years with no sign it will ever be completed.

The pro shop staff are great and head pro Mike Grantham, with assistant pro Parker White are great and supportive of the younger “top players” as they continue to want to improve their games.

Unfortunately Fees continue to go up, management has failed to provide promised improvements, and on course conditions are diminishing. This club has been home but it’s not the same Montgomery members have had the opportunity to love and enjoy.
The ownership doesn’t put money into the club but raises dues on a yearly basis. Club leadership is non existent. Lack of staff makes the dinning experience dry frustrating.
Golf course is usually in great shape but the superintendent of over 20 years left recently. Membership doesn’t have a voice. You will always get a corporate answer.
Used to be a good value for a golf membership, but there are better clubs in the area where the value is better.
TL:DR -- No longer the strong value club it once was. Dues continue to rise, while quality and experience continue to fall. Leadership is non-existent and member promises are regularly broken. Look elsewhere for a better experience and value.

As someone who has frequented this club since a very young age and joined as a member a few years back, it is quite sad to see the current state of the club. Montgomery has always been a great value for the money, a relaxed vibe with above average food, and a solid course. But due to a lack of leadership, the club is almost unrecognizable to what it once was. Dues keep going up, promises to members are often broken, while the experience continues to deteriorate.

We have been promised a new practice facility for over 5 years yet nothing has happened, the food quality makes it hard to justify spending the minimum each month, and the course conditions (the main thing MCC had going for it) has dropped since the long time superintendent left.

What members are asking for is not a lot, we simply want the club to care and try to do the basic things well, but that concept seems to be lost in most areas of the club. Aside from the Head Pro, it’s hard to find anyone who will listen to Members, and try to improve the experience for Members that they have some control over. Unfortunately, there is no real way for Members to share opinions, ideas, complaints, or requests — there is no real member board (we are told there is one but they are all friends with the GM) — and whenever we do try and leave feedback we are always met with an excuse as why this or that cannot or has not been done.

The value used to be that MCC would beat other clubs when it came to initiation fee/dues as it is one of the cheapest in the area but it seems as if they are doing everything they can to ensure the experience now matches that lower price point, which is super unfortunate for those of us who remember it for what it once was. But don't take my word for it, stop by and ask any real (non-lifetime) member their thoughts, you won't go too far before you run into someone fed up with what this clubs has to offer (or lack there of).
This was our third year in a row at Blue Ridge Shadow. We come here on a golf package. What a fantastic time and golf course. Blane the Starter is great at his job and Brian inside is a hard worker making sure you are satisfied with everything. We were planning our next year trip on the way home . can't wait to play here again.
Really great course! Loved the layout and conditions were pretty good considering the rain. Best part was the staff and management. I was unable to finish my round due to some slow groups ahead of me and the head pro called me to invite me to come play a complimentary round the next day. I'm back in the Tustin area in the future I will come back!
It's a quiet spot but not in great shape. I know it's early in the year and maybe it'll get better once the weather warms. Cart paths weren't great, thatching all over the course. Still getting ready for the season it seems. Holes were wide open though, which was good for a casual golfer. Couple of really nice holes too, tried to take pics. So some good, some bad. We'll definitely go back since we're not picky.

Great little practice facility with very reasonable prices: a large bucket for $11, and a 160-ball jumbo runs $17. Staff is super friendly and remembers all the regulars. Heated bay, with some outside matts and an area to hit from the grass. My favorite facility by far in Montgomery County.
Great place for a wedding! The staff is amazing and organized. Beautiful views, both on the grounds and inside the country club.
We've had the pleasure of photographing a few weddings there and would not hesitate to recommend. IG @sotenderishumanity

A great hidden gem with very small greens that will do nothing but improve your chipping and putting skills. Staff was great and reasonable pricing. If I lived in the area, I would play it daily!
An incredible battle for a spot in the sun between lemon trees and invasive pampas grass in an old citrus orchard just beyond the fence.
My experience getting married at Silver Lake CC was AWESOME!!!! The staff and Owner Amy made sure everything went as scheduled and planned. Silver Lake CC is elegant the food was amazon and everyone was extremely professional. Most organized pleasing team of people EVER! Thanks Silver Lake for blessing me with such a beautiful Day!!!!
Awesome staff, great layout, good conditions, tough course. Some blind hilly shots so keep an eye on your ball. Shared green was a nice feature.
Love the greens here ! You have to actually play the breaks. Meaning it's like you're putting on ice ! We played best ball. Three foursomes. Everyone agreed, it seemed like 3 out of 4 putts or all 4 putts rolled right on by the hole if you didn't make the putt.
I always have a fun time when I visit the golf club. They have everything from golf, to an amazing pool, to air hockey. Looking forward to my next visit.
Had an amazing round here last Monday. Course is in amazing shape. Was visiting from Florida and the hospitality was top notch. You felt like you were a member! Definitely will come back to play again next time I'm in the area next year! Thanks for the great time. There's 27 holes at this course, only had the pleasure of playing Ridge/Pines
We really enjoy this course!! It’s 9 holes of great play. Challenging enough that we play 18 generally. Also enjoy the staff. Friendly and helpful. The food is excellent too.

Not crowded and water was very pleasant, not too cold. Seemed to be a lot of bugs and this type of pool water debris floating on the surface than should have been. Maybe filter wasn't running at this particular time. Very nice visit though

Ok course. Great prices on food and drinks and pro shop prices were not terrible. However for $76 for 18 I think there are a few better and nicer options. The greens needed some work etc. wild life is prevalent

Great out of the way place off Georgia Avenue in Olney. I love driving balls here. Staff are pretty friendly.
We have been members for almost 30 years and we don't even play golf! This is an excellent place to bring your kids. Our girls were on Swim team until high school. People are friendly and we enjoy the pool. I've been in the Book Club there for about 10 years. I like the food and have brought numerous friends there for meals. It's a great family place to go. Fireworks are a must!
My husband and I had our wedding reception at Silver Lake Country Club and if we could give them more than 5 stars, we would. We were a pandemic wedding and Amy and Jeanine were beyond supportive and accommodating to our situation. They were always happy to reassure us and answer any questions we had, and were so flexible through the many date and plan changes. The landscape and room were stunning and they took all the pressure off of us so we could enjoy our day. The entire staff was amazing - shout out to our bartender Ron! Can't recommend this place enough.
Played here for the 1st time two weeks ago together with my Wife, Dad-in-Law and friend. We had an incredible time. Frank in the pro shop was welcoming. I accidentally double booked our tee time and he totally understood my situation and suggested I call GolfNow right away which I did. Wayne was also really professional. He helped us setup our carts and clubs then gave us an insight on what the course would be like. His right about hole #12, it's incredible and has been my fave too. The pace is good and we really had a blast. Just booked our next game this coming Saturday. Looking forward to try the bar this time!
Great place to play golf. Va German Shepherd Rescue had their 15th annual golf tournament today. The manager Brian Jones and staff are the best
Played golf here and the grounds are beautiful.
It was a little bit of a drive but it was worth it. The customer service was above average and the drinks and food were good. We would come back here to play golf again. We highly recommend this golf course. We will be back again to play here!
Bring your “A” game to this excellent layout. North course is a worthy home to US Open qualifying.
Nice public course. Not too long, but challenging greens. Good practice facility with large putting green and chipping green. Nicely rebuilt clubhouse.
One of my favorite courses to play. Fees are reasonable, staff is always friendly and course is in pretty good shape. I love playing here so much I became a member and absolutely love it. Will keep renewing every year.
Love my hometown course. Great golf & great food in always leave with a smile!
Fireworks were awesome 👌. Employees directing traffic did an awesome job.
The course is in wonderful shape. It is a real challenge, but fair.
Really nice 27 hole course in Lakewood. Beautifully maintained. For the beginning of April couldnt believe how nice ERGC really is. Always want to play but it was always booked and you can see why. Plus the course cost half the money it normally does. Plays long. Has everything, cart girl, food hut, nice pro shop. If you have a chance to play here, definitely book it, you wont be disappointed.
I have been a member of Tustin Ranch for about 15 years and always believed it truly was a private course experience on a public course. The golf course was immaculate, with greens that would rival any course. The staff, from general manager to maintenance, were friendly and displayed pride in the facility. I have referred dozens of people to join the club because of the entire Tustin Ranch experience.

I am sad to say that I no longer feel this way. Since American Golf has assumed management the course has worked its way from being excellent to embarrassing. The greens have become terrible, and the overall experience is less than one would expect from such a historically nice course. It seems that the goal is to jam as many people as possible onto the course in a day. I am all for making a profit, but at what cost to the course? Ball marks are not repaired, greens are dying, half of the fairways are closed to carts. I haven't given up yet, and hope for a return to the pristine course that it once was.
Been a member for 2 months now. What a great place. The golf course is in excellent condition the staff is friendly and efficient. The pool is maintained very well. They have done a very good job at committing to the social distancing and the virus complications. The restaurant and bar are exceptionally clean and the staff is just fantastic. My wife and I are very happy we joined.
Amazing food, staff, and fun. My brothers took me here for the first time last weekend, it was a blast. Beautiful course. Thank You!
Tough course at times when you cant hit it straight. The course is in great shape where some of the greens are like walking on a carpet. Good place for the money. Play here a few times a year. The have a great concession stand at the turn. Fully stockes.
Well Groomed and best value golfing in the area!
Top class club! Volunteered for the U.S Open qualifier here last June and was able to see a lot of the course - let me just say this is one of the best courses I have ever been to in terms of overall conditioning and amenities provided.
Amazing golf course ⛳️ 9 hole course with deceptively tricky holes!
Membership includes pool access, with diving board!! Awesome place for the whole family!
This was fund raising money for Breast Cancer. I helped to monitor golfer, if anyone got hole in one will win $10,000.00. of course nobody got it.
The course was in wonderful shape. Hats off to the groundskeepers that work there.
Love this place! One of my favorite courses. New this year they are only charging $100 for memberships. ONLY $100!! Great deal for a small town golf course. Come out and have some fun this summer!
Recently went to the restaurant here for a family birthday event. The Sunday Brunch which runs for around $40 per adult. Includes all the staple breakfast items, omelettes made to order, tri tip & meats, seafood, salad, and a great dessert table with a chocolate fountain. Comes with Champagne/ or as a mimosa. Plenty of free parking. Friendly servers.
Great course, Fast greens. very challenging. They even have bar food
Great course and good food in the clubhouse
Went golfing there this morning, alright course. It is April so in good shape for April. Some strange holes, somewhat scenic, not extremely difficult. Not my first choice in course in the area but would return, definitely not a country club feel. Worth going to once but not a course I’m dying to play again. Staff is very friendly.
