Reviews

My grandma has been a patient there for only 2 weeks and we have had other patients approach us and tell us we need to get her out of this place because she is being mistreated. Some staff are nice but definitely would not recommend.

My mother in law went in making huge progress on a trac to whin off and breath on her own, instead she passed away one day after she was transferred here. Why is the death rate so high for this facility?
How did someone who was making positive progress pass away a day later when transferred ? ... Seems this has happened to other patients also.
Someone has to look into this facility ASAP.

Queen Anne Healthcare has a very good professional and well skilled staff who are very committed to every patient living in their premises. Patients and residents are well fed and always good looking. They welcome visitors very well and give assistance if needed. I recommend you Queen Anne Healthcare in Seattle because they are indeed professionals. My mom is leaving there after her stroke since February 2023 and yet she feels at home. God bless you!

This facility continues to be the BIGGEST torn in my flesh. By all means to anyone looking for a facility to place their loved ones stay far far away. From onset my family and I felt as if we were sent to the dogs. And let me just say it has been proven in so many ways. Talk about lack of communication, inconsistency, and negligence plus so much more.
By all means I must commend the very very few members of staff who are genuinely into their line of work, which makes caring for the patients top priority (I can count on one hand how many they were) but to the others who are just there to collect a pay check or just simply don’t care and disrespectful. It was evident in many ways how much they do not care.
I have to make reference to how short staff they are. Although that seems to be the case that a lot of Employers are being faced with. The Admission team in that case needs to stop admitting patients and trying to sell an unrealistic dream to families and or social workers who work alongside them (Tell the truth).
They 1000% do not make patient care a priority in many instances which is sad. How can you not check on a patient for hours on top of hours in certain areas such as ensuring that they are repositioned or suctioned. Or even cleaned within 3-4 hours. But instead, you sometimes place them in a jerry chair for 7 hours without even checking on them saying oh the next shift will take them out and place hem back in bed or ensure that the diaper is changed.
And all that the NCC Sean (Shawn) from the 9th Floor does is apologize as if sorry can cool hot water (HATE is a strong word but I DESPISE her 20,000%) . Whenever you pull her or her team up about something. Staff tell her about ways to correct things and her lack of compassion and forgetfulness causes a further issue then she wants to say things happen and don’t talk about that sarcastic doctor who seems not to know his head from his foot. Their continuous negligence in various ways put a SOUR taste in my mouth. As I had to be the voice and an ADVOCATE and let them know not to play about me and my loved one. Communication is key and they definitely lack thereof.
There is a lot more I can say about this facility, but I will try to refrain. Just avoid them if you can.
God will deal with you all I hope none of your families ever have to face a situation such as this EVER.

Harvard Garden Rehabilitation and Care has done an excellent job rehabbing my husband after extensive spinal surgery. It is close to home. The staff is courteous and helpful. The family like atmosphere makes the dust from their 3 million dollar facelift bearable. Most of all, the people of Ward 1 will have stellar care in our community.

I arrived punctually for an interview, only to find Carlos and disorganization at the scene. To my astonishment, Carlos, the superintendent, was absent due to illness, as communicated by the front desk. Various individuals provided conflicting information about his whereabouts - one moment they claimed he was downstairs and on his way up, the next moment they said he wasn't even on the premises. Ultimately, they confirmed that he had called in sick. They promised to contact me once Carlos returned the following morning. However, I received no communication from them the next day or in the subsequent two weeks regarding the maintenance position. As I perused the numerous negative reviews about this building, I realized that it was perhaps a blessing in disguise that I did not secure the job.

Very bad Facility Make you miss your appointment.
They're saying it's not a smoking facility but people or smoking hear Bearly want to give you medication bad food Everything is outdated. Milks are bad smh

My Mom has done a 180 degrees since her enrollment last Summer. Her dementia diagnosis seemed gloom and doom for our Family but the services and support at ArchCare’s PACE Program @Carmel Richmond changed her life. She maintained her independence with support and my Sister and I appreciate the resources and assistance they have given. I highly recommend this Program to any Familyygat want to provide a safe haven for the Aging and respite for caregivers!! God Bless ArchCare!!!

After a month of waiting which was understandable as they are short staffed, they transferred me to a los Angeles DOR where I missed one call and when I called the next day they did not answer. My case was then dismissed after 24 hours from the first call, had to find this out later.

Terrible place. No accountability. Call buttons broken weekly. Their solution a hand bell that couldn’t be heard through the door let alone down to the nurses station to get someone off their phone. Patients are left for hours unchanged. No calls to management returned. Clearly only a profit making venture with no oversight or standards. Too many patients suffering.

I'm writing this as an ex employee. Not about most of the workers, the the company that bought us out at tge end of 2023: Tranquility. What a bunch of malarkey the management gave us. It's gonna be better, we're going to fix things, spruce the place up, get rid of all agency personnel which is more cost effective and affords better care.. As the newly crowned Sales & Marketing Dir, I (we all) thought it was going to improve the lives of our residents and help us as well. About a month into the new year they fired our Ex Dir and brought Dan Washburn in who either is a yes man or a corporate henchman. I got 6 people in there as residents and had about 7 more wanting to come immediately. Not all of them would've signed on, but I was working it. First of Feb we're told some changes are going to happen. Cut costs. First I was told I would go back to being receptionist as I was prior to my promotion. But every day the scenario changed. Ended up several of us were laid off, they're shutting down the Independent Living Cottage making all those people move pretty quickly. Independent Living people didnt pay as much rent as Skilled Nursing people or Assisted Living does They gave no severance pay, they didn't pay me the commission I originally was told I would get for putting "heads in the bed" as Tranquility called it. I'm owed about $600. They didn't really want most of us to even file for unemployment. But they legally couldn't stop that. Tranquility is based in Hickory, NC. The owners/managers care nothing for people at all. The bottom line, as usual, is only money. I had hoped to work there till the cows came home. But sending someone like Dan, your errand boy, as an Exec Dir is an insult!! I miss the residents and am so sorry my friends at the Independent Living had to move. I wish Gene, Steve and all the rest of corporate had been honest from the start. I will say the IT guys were great.

"I am consistently impressed by the level of dedication displayed by the staff at Harvard Gardens. Under new ownership, there is a clear emphasis on providing top-notch care for all residents, treating each individual with the utmost respect and kindness, but mainly giving each individual resident their proper care. I highly recommend Harvard Gardens to anyone seeking exceptional care for their loved ones."

I worked in the Dietary Department as a Kitchen Porter/Server of Elderly residents a few years ago (I'm a Cook by trade). The picture of my appliances was taken at my home after I got them from a Public Food Pantry for free!

Great experience. I had a guy named harry. Absolute beast. 100 percent recommend.

DO NOT PUT YOUR LOVED ONES IN THIS GOD FORESAKEN PLACE!!! My son who was 29 years old and only went here for 6 weeks of antibiotics because no other places would take him and he died here on 4/27/22-he was unresponsive when the nurse finally checked on him an hour after he asked for his pain meds. His death is highly suspicious-autopsy showed his “prescribed” medications for pain contributed to his death-the director openly admitted drugs get in because of the terrible neighborhood it’s in. He was perfectly fine walked out to the nurses station and then he perished. The director even felt something shady happened and said she’d get to the bottom of it but never did. It was pulling teeth to finally get his records from them. I will never forgive myself for not stopping the process to transport him here from UH Hospital even though they made it seem like he had no other options. I see they changed their name from Willow Park-it explains the fact they are responsible for my son’s death!!!!! DO NOT TRUST THIS PLACE!!!! I am putting 1 star only because google won’t let me put any less

If I could give this place a -0 I would. The facility is ran down. The staff are unprofessional, dismissive and nonchalant when it comes to caring for these patients. The African doctor there is extremely arrogant and dismissive as well. The food is something out of a penitentiary. Just a very disturbing place.

I would not recommend Richmond Heights place for your loved one. Moving our mother elsewhere was a relief; she's flourishing now with the care she deserves. We paid double for inadequate treatment and service, unaware of better options until we researched further. From the start, their lack of empathy was apparent. On the second day, they callously informed us our mother would never walk again, which was devastating. Moreover, the difficulty in reaching someone for communication and the lack of follow-up on treatment were frustrating. Voicemails were full, emails went unanswered for over a week, and there were times when my mother spent days or even weeks confined to her bed. Don’t get me wrong, we did come across some kind hearted people but the bad unfortunately weighed out the good.

Not even deserved to have 1star. Should have Department NY, NYS State H&H, Adults care agency in communities , Department of H&H Washington D.C to investigate , nursing home rating agency, and news media to share the worse things and bad on the health care .
Operated business without fully staffs for most of the days. .
Staffing issues which affected to all patients.
Facility care to patients on 8th floor are bad.
Bullying to resident family. (Not allowed to turn on light. Not allow to put a shopping mini cart on the side, accused of pulled of the g-tube ,
Please find many residents got bedsores and staffs blame on patient saying like pt. Is not moving.
I would like to give you a hint, staff are told to change a wet diaper and every 2 hours turn position.
No turn position every 2 hours.
Sweet talk about one word they always use”concern”, but not truthfully care to patients in reality. Look at mom got damages in the hands of the staffs cares.
Wound is bad and iundescribable 4th stage.
Roaches and flies in room 813A.
Caused damages to elder patients.
1 CNA. 1 Nurse at entire floor. Checked the schedules . Something is running around and not come to change wet diapers with Pooh, let patient sits on chair many hours and not changes of wet diapers until day shift turn to afternoon shift at 3pm, around 5pm to 6 pm, patient still has sat on wet diaper.
Bed sheet not changed and build the bacteria. No full size bedsheet are available and family to provide them.
Elderly negligence. Abused to senior disabilities patient. Life threatening Damages gave to my mom , she became stage 4 wounds opening see thru the bone,
and nurse manager administered time to transfer to Emergency room, wait for weekends and M.L.K. Holiday ended, wasted 3 days longer until the lady come back to give a referral to go back to SIUH North.

Driver in a Willow Park van drove past me on Shaker doing 60+mph with seniors on board. ... at least 25 mph over the limit. I called to report it and nobody cared. Clearly, they don't care about the seniors people are paying them to care for. The state should investigate.

Facility is nice and the Business office manager Jasmine helped with processing Guardianship for my loved one. Jasmine was very kind and knowledgeable about the process, and explained all the details so I could understand what to expect. Very professional and thorough

The clinic was well put together and the office manager Jasmine helped my loved one with the processing of ALF assist living Medicaid. Jasmine made the process easy for me and my family

Very poor communication, unresponsive social work office, outdated facility. They communicated the most when my father passed away and they wanted him out of there - I got two phone calls about getting him out within one hour of each other. One star is for Karen in finance who was extremely kind and knowledgeable.

This facility is poorly run with undertrained, underqualified staff. The most distasteful interaction I have experienced while dealing with Richmond Heights was facilitated by Jasmine. I do not want to attack one individual’s character based of what appears to be systemic failures within this care facility as a whole— so I will just say, be prepared to take copious notes, follow up relentlessly and overlook the hostile attitudes you will ultimately face if you have the misfortune to have a loved one in their care. They will make it incredibly difficult and you will live in a constant state of stress. I would highly recommend choosing a facility elsewhere!!!

Staff are lacking and don't care. Patients are consistently missing medical appts because no one keeps up with them. Billing overcharge and loosely charge for services not being used or needed by residents. Facility still had COVID amongst patients, and do not ensure they are not transmitting it before placing them back amongst population. The facility is nasty, floors sticky, dining tables dirty, rooms smell and beds not cleaned daily. Lastly, residents are dirty and not tended to daily, smell of urine and feces alot. This place needs and inspection daily.

Having struggled with the disease of addiction for many years, this place was hands down the best detox center I’ve been to. I didn’t have to worry about the outside world, the meds prevented me from having a seizure, and I was free to read, draw, watch Netflix and do yoga (using YouTube on one of their smart tvs). I’m vegetarian and they prepared special meals for me. In other detox centers I felt treated like a child: tv hours were restricted, I had to go to groups in a zombie-like state, do writing assignments, and the facilities themselves were filthy. Not so at TDS. I got the meds I needed and I could rest as much as I needed. Not one person yelled at me or spoke down to me, which is a rarity in the world of addiction treatment. I went there to be medically detoxed and that’s exactly what happened. There were no bed bugs (which, by the way, can crop up anywhere, even 5 star hotels). The beds and pillows are encased in thick vinyl specifically to prevent an outbreak. The meals and toiletries are average, but that’s to be expected from a government funded facility. I wish there were more detox centers like this one. I didn’t feel the sting of stigma or judgement at a time when I was already disappointed in myself. If you really WANT to detox from substances, this place is an excellent option.

FRONT DESK "BRENDA" AWFUL LADY, SHE'S VERY RUDE REFUSES TO MAKE APPOINTMENTS FOR CLIENTS IN DESPERATE NEED OF COUNSELING SERVICES, I'VE BEEN HOMELESS SINCE 11/25/18 AND I'VE BEEN OUT OF WORK SINCE 8/18/18, I'M NOT HAPPY WITH THE SERVICES THAT I'VE RECEIVED THERE AND I NEEDED TO SPEAK WITH THE COUNSELOR OF THE DAY/OR THE OFFICER OF THE DAY, I WAS VERY POLITE AND SHE CALLED THE SECURITY OFFICERS ON ME I GUESS SHE JUST DIDN'T FEEL LIKE WORKING THAT DAY, I GUESS IT WAS A "WHITEHEAD FAMILY " DAY😕, SERVICES ARE NOT THE SAME AS IN "2017"

My grandad spent less than 48 hours at this location. He's almost 90 years old, battling dementia, and shockingly, he managed to slip away from the site without a single soul noticing. He had been transferred there from the hospital, and it's utterly enraging to think that this company accepted him, knowing full well they didn't have the proper security measures in place. They were fully aware that he was a flight risk. Not one person bothered to call his family, and the staff displayed a stunning level of nonchalance and carelessness throughout. The Director, despite numerous calls, never once reached out to us, and the excuse was that she was too "busy." This behavior is not just unacceptable; it's downright outrageous and heartbreaking. The complete lack of empathy and responsibility on the part of this company is beyond infuriating. They need to be shut down immediately.

My aunt was here for a broken hip and thee nurses would bring her cold food also when she pushed the call button no one would come for a hr! This is unbelievable and very unprofessional and neglect to a patient I am a CMA and this was beyond if I could give 0 star I would. What if a patient was too be having a medical emergency they wouldn't even know because they took a hr to attend my aunt... they also said that she was pushing the button to much that is NOT to be Said at all that is your JOB! I am very happy she is no longer there .

My father was admitted and spent last 6 months of his life in the Ventilator Unit of the New Vanderbilt Rehab & Care Center. The doctors, nurses and all the staff went above and beyond to take care of my father and did everything to prolong his life. Almost a year late, I would like to express my sincere gratitude to all the medical staff and to all employees of the New Vanderbilt Rehab & Care Center.

This place needs to have State come in. It is not a clean or healthy place for your loved ones. It is more like a prison for a convict… actually convicted felons live better than the residents at this Nursing Home. They will leave a catheter in for weeks and not change it especially when the resident is in excruciating pain. The rooms are like cells with no television or anything for the residents to have a little entertainment. The facility and its staff have no respect or even care for the residents properly. If you have a loved one here please plan on moving them as soon as you can. Because this place is not fit for even a cockroach. Just pathetic!

After being admitted and them Putting me on 6 different medications. Which I had an adverse effect to. I was there for 3 days. And on the final day that I was there I had finally refused all of the meds that they were giving to me. Then after I had refused my morning meds, I had gotten up to go to the restroom and take a shower, I had fallen. I had to crawl to the restroom door and after I finally was able to get the door open I had to YELL for help. The receptionist came over first and ran to get a nurse. When the nurse came over she asked me in the coldest voice what had happened and asked me if I wanted to go to the Hospital. I told her yes I wanted to go to the hospital. The Nurse DID NOT EVEN BOTHER TO HELP ME GET UP OFF OF THE FLOOR. and before the MEDIC Got there the Nurse told me that if I wasn't going to take the meds that the Doctor Prescribed that they would have to Discharge me..... they were not willing to change the meds to figure out which ones that I had a the adverse effect to...... I would NOT RECOMMEND this treatment Center to my WORST ENEMY....... IF U NEED HELP..... DO NOT GO TO THIS TREATMENT FACILITY....... THEY ARE THE COLDEST AND NOT CAREING ABOUT YOUR WELLBEING.......

My son is finally willing to get help. I was given their # to call and ask if a bed was available but no answer yesterday and left a voice mail. No call back so I called today and a lady answered. I was asking if they had a bed but she said that my son needed to call. I got him to call (which he doesn't like to do, he has social phobia) and he has been manic and was talking so fast she couldn't understand him when he said (multiple times) "I am wanting help, is a bed available? So I got on the phone and told her "I spoke to you earlier. I'm his Mom and he is saying 'I am wanting help, are there any beds available?' I am giving him back the phone now." She said, "Ma'am then I already told you that we can only talk to him!" That really irritated me and I've been stewing in anger since it happened. It wasn't what she said (I understand that there are rules) but how she said it, very cold and uncaring. Then asked about his insurance and we're trying to him set up with insurance and she said to call back when he has insurance.
Now, I wasn't expecting to get 5-Star customer service but the addicts AND their families are going through a lot and may even be at the end of their rope and barely hanging on. That rude, cold and callous attitude is VERY discouraging.
I am not one to confront people, I'm very shy myself but I seriously considered calling back and giving her an earful but I didn't. Have the day you deserve!

I found only 2 reviews that were from actual patients and/or their families, which is obviously fake and created by the employees of this facility. All of the other reviews are from employees that work there. My best friend was placed here after a major stroke just last week. So, far this place has been nothing but problems. The people that work here are disrespectful and totally inconsiderate. They speak to each other is some other language in front of their clients and visitors constantly. I believe that to be so incredibly rude. and now, last night when I stopped to see her, I was told by one of the orderlies that my friend "fell out of her wheelchair" and that is why she is covered in bruises. How does one "fall out of their wheelchair" in the first place? and isn't the insurance company paying these people to be my friends "care-givers?" NO care is involved with any of that! How is it that she was left alone and in a wheelchair by herself long enough for her to fall out of a sitting position unsupervised? How is any of that even possible? and how does one get all these bruises "falling" from a sitting position to the floor? That wouldn't be a very far drop at all!
When I asked questions to the staff here, I was disregarded and no one would give me any answers. Wow! Disgusting that people are allowed to treat others this way, especially when they are being paid good money to be "care-giving!"

Being MDS Coordinator here has been really great… not so much as the data entry…. But being apart of a great team!! Our Administrator loves each one of us!!! She trust the team to do the very best for each resident!! And we trust her to continue being the great leader she has always been!!!! She has each residents best interest at heart!! From the Nursing director to the housekeeping director we love our patients!!! Give Harvard Gardens a try!!!!!

My Mom tried to get a family member in here. These people are psychopaths, I don’t say that lightly. They also are mainly incompetent. I don’t think anyone there is educated. They blocked my Mom after telling her they would have a bed for (said family member) and she confronted them nicely saying she was promised a bed for him. Plus, I hear they have bed bugs. If you have someone in your family that needs help, do not send them here. I can’t imagine ever having to deal with addiction issues, much less wanting help and them being the ones you’d have to turn to!

Lady was rude and unhelpful. Would not tell me if they had a bed open or not. They said they would call back in an hour after my boyfriend gave them all the information. They never called back, and when I talked to them today, they claimed they had to speak to him again as if addicts have time to call five times a day and repeat the information each time. Then the lady hung up on me. She said “ don’t you understand we have to talk to him” and I replied “don’t you understand you already talked to him!???” Should have called pretending to be him to begin with. Can’t get anywhere with these places, unless you do. If you’re calling for someone, just pretend to be them.

My 96 year old grandmother stayed here for 5 weeks following a broken hip last year. The nursing staff are amazing, she was very well taken care of and we were able to visit her often. She got 3 hot meals every day and was pretty happy with them. She had PT and OT multiple times per week - both services were great and so effective that she was back on her feet (with a walker) and back home very quickly! Social services and therapy did a great job coordinating her discharge home and making sure that all pharmacy, equipment, and home health needs would be met from the second she went home. I am very grateful to the whole staff for taking such good care of her and helping her recover so quickly. Nobody ever wants to have to stay in a nursing facility, but if you do, this is a great choice.

Amazing place to work where the focus of staff is teamwork to provide the safest and best care for patients. Co-workers feel like a family. The company is always doing something to show appreciation for employees. Queen Anne is always encouraging and supporting staff to continue education and rooting you on along the way.

I am proud to be part of the Queen Anne family. My sister's first job was at Queen Anne and had retired from Queen Anne. I followed suit, started at QA and will retire here. I enjoy my work, started as a receptionist and step up to the business office. Along the way, I have accumulated friends and lots memories. I have a very small family, my sister, my daughter and myself that is why Queen Anne is my family. I know they will always stand by me.

Richmond Heights Place is a wonderful establishment. Many of the staff are very attentive and caring. The Human Resources person Yvonne was super nice and provided very informative details about the facility and staff members. Pam also seemed like a great leader and appeared to have her hands into all facets of the business. Would highly recommend any family member to be taken care of there.

The lady who answered the phone when I called for an appointment to see what Richmond Heights Place is like was very pleasant and helpful. When I went for my visit, the “ assisted living”facility was really clean and the residents I saw seemed happy to be “at home”. I also toured the areas that are “Skilled Living” and was really pleased to see how clean the area was, there was no bad smells. I was there during lunch hour and the meal trays appeared to be good, healthy meals. I did get to speak to several managers and a STNA. All of the women were very accommodating and very forthcoming in their answers to my questions. I even saw someone who I think was a maintenance person, helping a resident to the dining room. Seemed like great team work by the staff.

Queen Anne Healthcare is a great place to work! Their patient ratio to staff is GREAT! If you are looking to further your education...THEY ARE VERY SUPPORTIVE AND ENCOURAGING for you to do so. I have never worked at a place where your patients and staff become a big family! THIS AVAMERE LOCATION IS WHERE YOU WANT TO BE AND NOT FORCED TO BE!!!

I feel that most of these reviews aren't helpful. I don't think people realize that detox is not "help". They are not their to guide you through to recovery in any way. They are only their to assist in medical detox so that you don't die from complications of "cold turkey".
They are the only ones with a bed open at the moment. These reviews are not helpful, but that being said, I am now scared to go there!! I'll probably wait for another place.

Frankly, they don't deserve one star.. I'm an alcoholic, age 32 with alcohol-induced hepatitis and on the verge of cirrhosis. I've only been drinking for 3 years to this extent and was scared of dying. They were encouraging and I have a friend who enjoyed and successfully completed her detox. I, on the other hand, lasted 6 hours. They gave me something to calm my nerves as this is the first time I've done something like this, but didn't ask about allergies or sensitivities and all it did was put me to sleep. I was never told of the phone calls from my husband and was trying to reach him to pick me up but it was phone tag. There was no food aside from miniature bags of goldfish crackers and water. A microwave but nothing to put in it. The juice was all hand made in the fridge and the milk looked spoiled. Nothing of nutritional value. They didn't give me my meds once, MY meds, nor did they ever come to check on me as I twiddled my thumbs in my bed waiting and not finding anyone. Bathroom has no lock on the door- and that's where the SHOWER is located. In a unisex facility! No activities, can't get fresh air, no clocks.. pure torture. I immediately chugged vodka as soon as my husband finally picked me up. You want to be triggered?? I'll give them 5 stars for that.

If I could negative stars, I would. This facility was once a top rated health care/nursing home- rehab facility but my loved one did not receive any type of care or supervision that should have been given. Staff was not warm or caring at all. Sent to Verrazano Rehab/Nursing home and for "not so good reviews", the best care was given at this facility. Verrazano had Old School care from employees that have been there for many years.

I was afraid when my mom needed to be placed in a nursing home. When we visited Archcare after touring other facilities I felt that this would be the place for her. The staff was friendly and it overall had a better vibe than other nursing care homes. She seems to agree and is as content as can be expected. She has made friends and she likes the staff members. I would recommend this home to anyone who needs this level of nursing home care. If we had it to do all over again I would encourage my mom to be placed at Archcare.

I’ve worked with department rehab in the past, and my experiences were pretty OK. But this last year and month have been really hard. I have a case worker, and it takes like a week or two to even get through to her. I’m very frustrated with the situation, and nothing has changed with my complaints. I’m going to look elsewhere for help.

I'm dealing with progressive vision loss, and I found little in the way of assistance with the application process, but that did not reflect on the quality of service the Oakland DOR provides. My case manager was adept at introducing technologies that amplify my natural ability in order to overcome visual limitation. The level of patience, support, and training I received there helped enable the completion of my graduate degree, and helped me make the transition from one career to another. I have nothing but gratitude and praise for the help I was given to accomplish these things.

I was really excited about. Entering your detox program. However, once I was assigned a bed in this detox, I discovered very quickly that the only thing that the staff cared about was doling out your meds and hiding out in their office. I witnessed on many occasions other patients going up to your nurses window to ask for help of some kind and the way they were received was appalling. I’m not sure who the African American man(who worked overnights) was, but he was very combative with several patients and was constantly challenging them in regards to their needs/ or requests. From day one, when I checked into this facility, I specifically asked to speak with the counselor named Ron. I never had an opportunity to sit down with him to get valuable information as far as what steps I needed 2 take after my 5 day detox stint. I’m sure you have a lot of “repeat” patients in your facility, but for someone like myself who is a “1st timer” to this behavior issue, I felt like i fell through the cracks. The menu was strictly for people who are into total carbs & starch. In my opinion, this was not a “3 square meals” a day that Leif mentioned to me upon my admittance. And, last but not least, one of my roommates who had not been there as long as I had, woke up in the middle of the night with a bite on her finger. After further inspection, she found several bed bugs inside her pillow cases. I hope you can take this information as constructive and address each of these issues for the better of your facility.

The staff is amazing. My mom spent a month here for rehab. She has dementia and is always confused in new surroundings. Staff was patient and compassionate. The CNA's kept her around them in the evenings when she was sun downing. I was secure in knowing she was well cared for when I could not be there. The room was kept clean, and the house keeping cleaned at least daily and whenever needed. The first floor is lovely and a nice place to visit with your loved one. The back patio is beautiful as well, a great place to sit, get fresh air, really feels like home and not an institution. Therapy was great, getting mom back on her feet and able to go back to her home. Highly recommend!

I am very happy with the care my mom receives at Carmel Richmond nursing home. My mom is there for two years. The staff on the 6th floor is kind and caring. I visit my mom often and have become friendly with the staff. The nursing home offers an array of entertainment for the residents to keep them engaged. The building is extremely clean and it is decorated beautifully for the different holidays throughout the year. The meals my mom receives and eats are delicious and healthy. Overall I am happy with the care my mom is given and recommend Carmel Richmond nursing home highly.

This is the worst experience I have ever had. DO NOT put your relative in this facility unless you can be with them around the clock. They are extremely understaffed and most of the staff are there just for a paycheck. We can get passed the food being horrible. We cannot get passed the way my mom was treated. No one listened, no one paid attention, and if they did they just did it their way anyway. Therapy was never consistent and some days she was in the bed and dirty for over 12 hours. You are only allowed to get a shower once a week and have I mentioned totally understaffed. Horrible, Horrible, Horrible. -0 stars

I assigned my Ticket to Work to this office in 2015 and did two rounds of case management there. The first time they took six months to get a counselor; then she resigned and it took another two months to get a new one. The second time the counselor assigned me to a job coach two hours away on public transit from my house. The state bureaucrats in this office are mainly focused on protecting their butts but not so much interested in helping clients. It also seems that if you are seeking anything other than a low-wage, low-skills McJob the DOR isn't equipped to help you. I've heard that the Berkeley office isn't much better. Overall, I'd say the DOR is a waste of taxpayer money.

Best rehab in the bay!!!

I am very pleased with the care my mom and it would have gotten a 5 star but the food is disgusting. It looks disgusting taste disgusting smells disgusting and I wouldn't feed it to my dog or any other animal for that matter. They need to give patients an lotion. I have to bring my mom 2 meals every day. She missed me 1 day due to a snowstorm and her sugar dropped very low. My suggestion is to give better food to the patients since their benefits are paying you enough. My mom has been here for 3 weeks and I haven't seen a good meal served yet. The staff are kind courteous caring compassionate and work very hard. Please do something about the food

Most of the staff who attended to my husband's care were responsive and compassionate. He was in 3 different facilities in the past 12 months due to health problems. The facility was clean. My husband and I both felt this was the best rehab he has been to. The food?? I think it would be better if there were more options for each meal. From the admissions staff and on, we were pleased. Thank you.

The department is extremely short staffed and has heavy work flow but if one is able to get through orientation and interview with a counselor, it is time well spent. Bring all supporting documentation that qualifies to return to work or specific training needed.
Will assist with tuition for accredited courses at an institution that least costly like a community college or Berkeley extension. The department provides special accommodations for equipment needed to perform work duties i.e. refurbished PC or Mac desktop or laptop, printer, assistance with employment transportation, work clothes and shoes, etc. etc.
Clients just need to be proactive with Independent Employment Plan co-written with counselor. While I personally fell into a transferred and retired case load, the department assisted with authorized resources that had not been used. Clients must be diligent communication with counselor to get the resources needed to return to work.
A closed mouth does not get fed as the saying goes. Good luck with your employment goals.

.... You know how they tell you that vocational rehabilitation is the way to go and you get the most amount of benefits and I really got to take care of you will let me tell you something it's absolutely like pulling teeth and I would caution you before you take this step I would also let you know that you know what if someone tells you that something is going to be done believe me it's not going to be done and the old adage of vocation abilitations counters lying to you well that's no different here. Matter fact the word on the street here is is that this Oakland office is the worst vocational rehabilitation office on the West Coast. Now I'm not saying there is not really good people working here it's just that with my experience with the counselor I had I did not have a very good experience matter of fact it's been like pulling teeth to get anything done and you know what if there too busy after six months to bother looking in your file folder something tells me that either they're not willing to do the job or something else is going on here and you know what they're not really about trying to make your life easier no way. To be completely honest with you if you really are disabled vet and you really do have a serious cognitive issues good luck ever getting any service you will literally die before you actually get anywhere with these folks it's just not easy going through vocational abilitations. Now I'm not really sure what the big fuss is about supposedly they're all but using tax dollars efficiently but I got to admit I'm not really sure they understand their purpose again is it better to go and spend those tax dollars from another agency and so you may day positive impact on the budget or actually use those dollars to change veterans life they can start paying taxes and it finally give back to the government

Awful customer service at the front desk. She kept a pleasant tone but she wouldn't work with me at all. You can't tell someone "Maybe this program just isn't for you" when you don't know who you are speaking to. I tried to apply for this program because I need financial help. And I am only eligible for this program because there is something "wrong" with me. She doesn't know what is wrong. She doesn't know that I have PTSD. She doesn't know if I'm suicidal and just so desperate for any assistance that being told outright that I can't be helped might push me over the edge. She. Just. Doesn't. Know. My issue is that I'm not capable of making the orientation times. SURELY this can be worked out some way. Because YES THIS PROGRAM IS MEANT FOR PEOPLE LIKE ME.
Btw. I'm not suicidal. But many are: #22

My mother in law stayed here for about a year. Overall the staff seems ok, but my first impression was how bad the place smelled. Then again many places like this smell bad. I also didn't like patients screaming in the halls. Plus staff would open the back door for some reason which activated an alarm and it would ring annoyingly for several minutes at a time. On the plus side there were many activities that my mother in law enjoyed and she was ok with the place, although a friend of hers, another resident didn't think so highly of the facility.
