The magnificent artwork was offset by the miserable attitude of the staff. Irritable, dismissive and unhelpful hence the two stars. One would think after their 3-day holiday that at opening time they could at least make the effort to be pleasant. Nonetheless this chapel is a must see.

Stunning frescoes.
The staff wasn’t however able to respond to basic questions such as the name of the painters.
They should employ more expert staff.

Beautiful small chapel with the most amazing frescos depicting Bible scenes and also from the life of St Peter. At the moment there is a restoration going on and scaffolding is up. This allows you to go up and see the paintings very close up and on the same level. You have to buy a ticket to enter because they only take in a few people at a time due to the small space available. Outside the chapel is a very calming cloister to sit and rest. The staff are very helpful and speak English if needed.

Fresco cycle is under restoration and you must climb scaffolding to view the work but honestly in a way a treat as it's the closest, most clear way to see each level of the work. I look forward to coming back in the future once scaffolding is out of the way to see the altar piece and the whole cycle together as a whole.

Had a detailed video intro in Italian with English subtitles before entering to see the chapel itself. Very cool to be able to see the Chapel wall paintings so up close because of the scaffolding, and get to see it for about 10 minutes on each of the two levels. Unfortunately not being very artistic, I don't think I appreciated it as much as I should have, But I'm still glad I came. Definitely must get tickets many weeks, maybe a couple of months, in advance if you want to see it

Disappointed Vs. the cost. We could only spend 5mn per paintings ( only 2 to see ). Of course the paintings were beautiful but the rest of the experience was not up to the cost. Not possible to see the chapel. The "guide" was not keen to do their job and not nice (even though I understand Italian), only there to take their 10€ per person (of course cards did not work, only cash!). In comparison with the Galleria degli Uffizi (12€/person), way too overpriced.

The frescoes are being restored and there is scaffolding everywhere. I wouldn’t recommend visiting the Cappella before the works are finished. Right now it’s an absolute waste of money. You still have to pay the full amount (which already is way too high compared to other sights) and the staff (extremely rude btw) won’t inform you about the scaffolding…
