Great place. However sometimes tower access is limited due to number of visitors. If it is your case you can still get a ticket to museum that is also gorgeous. Museum by itself is fine and the view from its windows are cool. Overall nice experience.
The square is such a nice area to visit with a fountain of Neptune. Along with a replica of the statue of David at the helm. Great place to visit!
Worth it just to see the doors! But also some really amazing things to see as well. Building of the Duomo models. Machinery for building in the 1400s type thing. Loved it.
Neat gathering place, sometimes at night there's music. -1 star for annoying influencer types hanging around creating visual noise. Come, check it out keep moving.

We did not pre book tickets, and were fortunate there was no queue to get in. You may be familiar with some of it from the Dan Brown film Inferno (starring Tom Hanks). It's an impressive building, had a QR download code (free) as an audio guide. Largely influenced by the Medici family as was much of Florence, well worth a visit while you are there.

Really great! Even after seeing a ton of great ceiling and church art, this was over the top. Not so much about the church as about an insatiable ego. It's all about Cosimo and the family. Fascinating.

You can go through the door near David and look around some bits for free.

We bought tickets to go up the tower which had great views (nothing like San Marco on Venice though!), although slightly restricted with grills/turrets/ropes depending on which level. Maybe one day we’ll go back and climb the Duomo which I think would be the king of Florence views.

There is no lift up. But the stairs were not so hard for us thankfully.

A must-see destination for any trip to Florence. Book your tickets in advance. You can collect them and just walk in on a timed entry.
If you are not a big art lover, do the 1hr circuit of the top floor. All the “big hitters” are there - Rembrandt, Botticelli, etc. Beautifully curated and well managed so everyone gets to see. It does get v. busy so go early or later in the day. Very disappointing to see a few people stopping to take selfies in front of such great pieces of art but there you go!!
If you are an art lover, I strongly recommend you make time for the 1st floor which is well-curated and provides some stunning pieces that cover ideas of religion, politics, identity and beauty from the Renaissance and High Renaissance.
My one gripe is the lack of space to sit and reflect on the art. I know it’s busy but it’s tricky to truly soak in just how pivotal some of these works are.
Amazing structure. Couple of things to remember...ladies should be dressed appropriately so no short skirts and covered arms, no backpacks. Backpacks can be put away next to the cathedral for free. Buy a ticket for multiple attractions so you do t have to stay in the super long line. Bell tower is really nice to see if you can't get a ticket for the dome.

Unbelievably good gallery. Allow 4-5 hours to see it properly. It's busy, so take your time and be patient with the tours. They come in waves, so ride them out and you'll see everything. Also do enjoy the cafe, its a great stopping point to rest your feet halfway around, and the best location in Florence for a coffee!
Amazing place but really not worth the long queue to see inside. By comparison there are equally spectacular insides to cathedrals that are dotted around Florence and you can only see and walk in a very limited part of the cathedral. It’s incredible on the outside but we were left slightly disappointed.

A famous landmark in Florence. A must visit! Many souvenir shops as well as trinkets, venetian masks and lots of jewellery, watch and accessories shops. There’s even a Rolex and a Patek Philippe there. By jewellery, I mean a lot of gold items there, and some jewels.

Each side of this Ponte is filled with quaint jewelry stores.
It is an extremely popular place to sit and watch the sun set. While we were there, a busker entertained the crowds with some excellent classical music.

Good place to view the entire old city of Florence, but it’s always overcrowded.

Beware to the guy in the car park. These people would chase you for paying on guiding you into a parking space.
Honestly amazing view. We went early in the morning close to sunrise (unfortunately it was a little cloudy so we couldn't fully see the sunrise) and it was basically empty.

I recommend you do the same, go early by bus and enjoy the piazzale to yourself.
Beautiful square in the center of Florence with the old palace and current city hall in the background. The square is decorated with authentic statues such as Poseidon, Hercules, David and many others. It is worth visiting!!
Beautiful piazzale with a gorgeous view of the sunset over Florence. There was a bottle bar where you can buy some drinks while enjoying the sunset.

However, do be mindful that it's incredibly popular and absolutely stuffed with tourists, so you will have to manoeuvre to get a place with a full view.
I would recommend you to come at sunset to see one of the most beautiful views you could see. This place is really amazing, it is at the top of the hill, so be prepared to walk and put on your shoes, but the view is worth it if you are ever in Florence.
Buy the tickets online!

About the entrance:
It is very important to buy the tickets online from a website that you can easily find as Google Maps suggests. Go there choose where you want to see and buy the tickets. Remember that you have to be there a minimum of 20 minutes before your appointment, so you can collect the tickets.

There is a desperate section for those who have bought their tickets online its name is stand number 3 and it is in front of the main entrance near the scaffolds. Otherwise, you have to wait for a long time in line to get the tickets normal the normal way. Remember you cannot bring large water bottles inside and if you have a backpack they will check it and you have to put your backpack in front of you.

About the place:
If you are a fan of art as I am you should definitely come here. It is one of the most beautiful places for art enthusiasts. Famous artists such as Davinci, Botticelli, Michelangelo and many others. You will get to see the masterpieces such as “Birth of Venus” “Primavera” and others. The place needs a good 3 hours to be explored fully and the ticket costs 30 Euros.

There are a lot of jewelry and watch shops on the bridge. Believe it used to be a bazaar in the old times. To me, this place isn’t worth a visit on its own unless you’re heading to the museum/gallery nearby; nothing really stands out here.

There are also a lot of coffee shops and restaurants nearby to enjoy the river view, although the river isn’t impressive as I’ve imagined.

Also, people say this place marks the very beginning of the renaissance!
Booking tickets in advance would help tremendously. We didn’t go for the dome nor the bell tower. The ambulances downstairs speak for itself.

Inside the cathedral, it’s quiet and sacred, tho I’m not a Christian, I could still feel the tranquility that this cathedral could bring.

The archeological site downstairs were pretty interesting as well. But keep this in mind, it’s pretty hot in there since it’s tiny but packed.
Perfect spot overlooking the Ponte Vechio

Most of the arts are Christian themed. But some master pieces are here as well, including the Medusa head, the birth of Venus etc.

Definitely book the tickets online first to avoid queues. Pre-booked customers can enter through door 1.

The whole tour actually starts in the 2nd floor. Before you head down to first floor, there’s a cafeteria which is a pretty chill place for some drinks.

If you’re in Florence, you should definitely pay this place a visit, since everything is walking distance, and why not visit a pretty museum that holds a lot of classic treasures?

Probably the best collection of art / paintings that we would have ever seen, each better than the other! It's worth visiting Florence just for Uffizi. When you read about them (or better use the audio guide) these paintings also help us get a perspective on the life and style, economy of people in the era in which they were painted.
Few tips for people visiting:
1. Book tickets in advance. Do take the audio guide, it'll give you the details, history and background of the paintings and make your trip exponentially pleasurable.
2. If you aren't an art lover then too budget atleast 5 hours as you'll become a lover when you are here.
3. Best to visit first thing in the morning, as they open. the crowds are a shade lesser than during mid day. Ideally go on a weekday.
4. Be prepared that it's going to be tiring, standing and moving slowly through the day, so wear the most comfortable footwear and dress.
5. Don't forget to carry your camera and water bottle. Don't need anything else as it becomes a liability, lugging it around the whole day.
The wive is so cute, I'm so laky to see it
Extremely beautiful and underrated museum. I would highly recommend visiting here if you’re in the area for the Basilica. You can easily spend multiple hours here, given it’s a 3 storey building full of art and sculptures.

I purchased the Brunelleschi pass, which gave me access to not only the museum, but so multiple attractions around the Basilica. Would highly recommend buying that pass!

The bridge has a great view of the water, and a very nice spot to take selfies. The bridge also has a bunch of retail stores along it (mostly gold retailers, and real gold from what I could tell).
The main cathedral to visit in Florence. A total of 2 buildings, with the museum located outside the cathedral.

I purchased the Brunelleschi pass which provides “skip the line” access, and a visit to all 5 must see places. To enter the baptistery and cathedral, women are required to dress modestly (cover shoulders), while other attractions you can enter freely.

2 of the attractions require to be physically fit, as you need to climb 400-500 stairs (no elevators). But the views from the top are well worth it!

Tickets can be purchased on the day of your visit, but it’s highly recommended to buy tickets in advance, especially for the tower climbs, as they are scheduled.

The lively heart of Florence. Whether you are visiting the cathedral, climbing the dome or the bell tower, you absolutely have to come by this piazza and admire the beauty of this place. It's really hustling and bustling in the peak summer season, whether it be crowds for entering the Duomo, or just sitting and having a drink in the nearby cafés, or souvenir shopping in one of the numerous stores around, this place is a must visit or your Florence visit would remain incomplete. Sit here and soak in the beauty and charm all around.
I really like this place because there are many restaurants, shops and ice cream parlors around the church. However, I overestimated the look of the inside of the church itself a little bit too much because before I went in I thought that it would be shiny, ecclesiastical and really impressive to look at. Unexpectedly, it was a bit boring, the only interesting parts were the colorful windows. I would recommend it if you absolutely and necessarily want to see it but not otherwise.
An important palace with a ton of history. Today it serves as both city hall of Florence and a museum where you can find part of the Medici art collection.

Ceilings and walls are covered with beautiful paintings. It’s a real treat to walk through the building.

Recommend visiting earlier during the day as it tends to sometimes be crowded with tour groups.

I’m always in love for sunsets and this place has a incredible beautiful one. Is super crowded but worth to go. I really recommend to go before the little stores close, I arrived there and they were already closed so I could not experience there.
Be smart… wake up early and you will get no one in the picture.

It is totally worth it to wake up before sunrise and visit the outside architecture before the crowds get there. I would totally recommend the tours and everything else you can book to absorb as much as possible from one of the most unique constructions in the world still unbeatable to this day.

A must visit in Florence. Beautiful museum housing important works of the Renaissance.

Recommend going as early as possible to avoid large crowds and have an enjoyable experience. You can easily spend anywhere between 2-4 hours here so plan accordingly!
The breathtaking sunset painted the sky with stunning hues, casting a magical glow over the entire city. The panoramic view of Florence from here is nothing short of awe-inspiring – the iconic landmarks and historic architecture create a mesmerizing backdrop. It's a must-visit spot for anyone looking to soak in the beauty of Florence.

Absolutely breathtaking.

Take a moment and look up the history. How the baptistery was built first, the dome not added for 100+ years etc leaving the cathedral open to the elements, then soak it all up. A magnificent place.

Absolutely not worth it, total trash except 5-10 good paintings. Really small and insignificant collection one floor with basically 10 small rooms, Comparing with major museums like the Vatican, Louvre, The Met etc…. And the appearance and cleanliness of this place…. I have seen public bathrooms better taken care of. Then there is the so called “online ticket” that you pay special tax of 4€ and when you get to the museum you need to queue to pick up the online ticket. Absolutely ridiculous
This square was buzzing with vibrancy. Lots of buskers playing music with just complimented the atmosphere. Lots of restaurants in the square. So easy to get to and find.
Best sunset point in the city! Absolute stunner. I would recommend going atleast 1.5-2 hours before the sunset to click photos. The vibe is amazing. There are restaurants and bars at the top and buskers playing music!
The best place to see the city of Florence. From the hill top, Florence is just wonderful. You will fall in love with the place. It wonderful in the day but it's even more beautiful once it's dark and the shimmering lights are on. Recommend everyone who visit Florence not to moss this wonderful place.
The Duomo is beautiful and majestic on the outside, inside is dark and less impressive. I knew that going in, but still wanted to check it out while in Florence. We didn't walk up the 400+ stairs, but waited in the free line for about an hour right when it opened. You don't need to spend much time inside. It is pretty to walk by at night when there are lights on, illuminating the buildings.

You probably have time to grab breakfast or a snack while in line. While we waited in line, I grabbed some croissants from a cafe a couple streets over.
Nice museum, good to visit with kids (but not too small). Mainly it is walls decorated with paintings. As a bonus, there is roof a terrace to enjoy a view on neighbor roof. Also there is a gallery above the main hall, quite impressive to see it from top

Another impressive architectural wonder in the Italian city that gave birth to the Renaissance era. Amazing that it was spared from destruction in World War II. Reminds me of the Pulteney Bridge in Bath, England. A beautiful afternoon along the River Arno
A very modern, well-constructed and multi-storey museum. The atmosphere of the place is enchanting. It presents in detail the history of the cathedral, as well as the related artworks and their originals. Not to be missed.

The building is beautiful, each room has its own little story, history. It was a little strange that the description often looked in a different direction to the central fresco in the room. But the map room was very special, it was nice to find our hometown on one of the maps. I would not recommend it so much for children, unless they are very into art and history.
Good wide open square. Space for kids to run around but watch out for taxis and police cars that do come through. Sometimes events
Its the most beautiful square in the world according to our tour guide and indeed it really stands out with the city hall and statues. You can see the statue of Neptune, David etc.
This wasn't an area I had heard too much about but was one of my favorite places in Florence. The square is large and is surrounded by many impressive statues. There is an even a replica of David if you want to skip the line to see the original. Learning about the symbolism behind the statues was also super interesting. Would recommend a visit + it is free!

I’ve visited the Duomo a few times but never climbed to the top. I finally made a plan to climb the 463 stairs to the top to see the amazing view. It took us about an hour to climb the stairs and get to the top, but it was totally worth it. The views of the red rooftops of Florence, the view of the Arno River and the Tuscan hill were breathtaking and once in a lifetime experience. I highly recommend everyone try it at least once.

This is a must visit in Florence. We started by climbing the bell tower, I'd recommend doing this early so it's not as warm and busy. The views are stunning. The cathedral itself looks better from the outside. You can go to the basement to see the archeological excavation. One of the highlights for us was the museum, located across the square, which has some amazing sculptures and an incredible door.

Utterly astounding; the Duomo dominates the Piazza and draws you in from all sides. We climbed Giotto's Tower which was amazing - the views are spectacular. The museum is also fantastic - initially it feels small, but it just keeps going and going!
Tickets purchased in advanced required to enter. I was pleasantly surprised with the museum. It is full of Michaelangelo, Raphael, and Donatello sculptures, along with dozens of relics and other pieces directly from the Catholic Church. The third floor is used exclusively for a terrace (pictured) to game upon the city from. Staff are present and you will be required to check your bags in, but they hold onto them for you good. Overall, if you bought a ticket which includes this package, I would recommend the visit.
While the pieces in Opera del Duomo Museum were once in the cathedral, they now live in splendor at the museum. Unlike the Duomo in Siena where you can see the stone mosaics and much of the finney in the cathedral, most of it lives in the museum alongside the cathedral in Florence. The way the pieces are set up enhance there appearance and an aspect of their previous grandeur. Definitely worth it especially if you wander into the cathedral. Great place to learn more about the amount of effort the Medicis put into the art in this complex.

Another great historic building! I just toured the first courtyard, which is free by the way, and it was very nice. Also, keep an eye out for the mysterious face carving in the wall outside. According to Smithsonian magazine, it might have even been created by Michelangelo himself!
Centrally located piazza with multiple restaurants with seating on the piazza. Also a cute carousel. Very touristy. Be watchful of your belongings here as there can be beggars. Nice to hang out at or meet as a central location.
One of the most underrated museums in Florence! We bought our ticket with the Giotto Pass (recommend buying online) and came right to the museum after climbing the Bell Tower. We arrived shortly after the museum opened and felt like we had it mostly to ourselves.

So much amazing history to be seen and laid out in such a thought and breath taking way.

Make sure you go all the way up to the top of the museum - there's a rooftop patio with a great view of the Duomo.
This is the place with most amazing views of Florence! if you are not tired you can walk all the way up otherwise driving there is an easy solution! We went during day time so it was quiet but I bet it gets super busy at sunset!

[Museum review] I got the Giotto Pass and was able to visit this museum thanks to it. Overall, it is interesting if you want to know how to duomo was built and the history. However, it can be long for kids or people who don't have an interest for architecture and history.

If you take the time to read everything and watch the documentary video clips, you can spend maybe 1.5h-2h here. They have clean bathrooms, air conditionning and a gift shop.

It wasn't too crowded when I visited in the afternoon around 1pm. No line to get into the museum.

Beautiful Building and it will take some time for you to go around and visit @ the same time.

Very nice historic palace building with impressive decor and educational information. No real waiting times for us and reasonably priced. If you want to go up the tower there are specific time slots assigned with the ticket.
Beautiful inside and outside it’s was great to go to the museum after the bell tower. Recommend to book ticket online then you don’t have to wait as the queue is long
Nice and beautiful square with it’s famous and trademark of lovely carousel. The place is so lively with all those cafes all around. There is a hotel in the area. There are some artists on the side. Worth checking out if you get here in Florence
Beautiful architectural works, the duomo is so big. I didn’t enter because the queue outside was too long. You can view the beautiful works from outside, just walk around & take pictures. It’s so beautiful from outside. I will suggest you buy your tickets before going there.

The Exterior, the Interior, the Climb and the Paid Experience

First of all, the exterior of this cathedral is among the best design of about twenty cathedrals I have seen in Europe. Viewing the exterior is of course free and does involve waiting in lines. I give five stars to the exterior.

I enjoyed my ascent up the tower, but have to say it is the tightest squeeze of any cathedral stairways I have climbed. The climb wasn't a problem for me, but you should know it's pretty tight. Once you squeeze through to the top, the views are worth it

Old buildings are all impressive and this cathedral is no different. Some cathedrals, have great exteriors like this one, others don't. Few cathedrals have both an amazing interior and exterior. The interior is not spectacular.

If the free line is short to get in the cathedral then I would go in. If the line is long, there are many other sites in Florence I would wait in line for, before waiting to go to the Cathedral. If you paid to see the underground church, the tile is impressive.
a nice place to hangout, though pretty crowded. there was a procession with people dressing in period customes when we were there. i just don’t get the merry-go-round at the center, kinda destroys the grandness of the plaza.
Nice piazza, but modern, not comparable to the renaissance aged piazza. However the vibe of people, lots of cafés and the merry go round has made it pretty interesting. Worth a visit.

Perfect sunset views, some scaffolds here and there but neglectable!
The vastness and the story of each building on it are fascinating, but the multitude of perfect statues is what takes your breath away. You really have the impression that they are alive...that the movement will continue, the hair will untangle, the muscles will be taut...you know that it is only a stone, but it evokes absolute respect for the creator.

It is so surprising that this place has such a weather that all the photographs taken looks like paintings.
The colours of the sky overhead are very Bright and dramatic.
The view of the river the bridges on top of that and the surrounding buildings and the sky is just marvellous to look at.
This is a most visit please.
To our surprise and our luck we were here on some event and we saw several fireworks at the night and it was a grand event.
Loved the ambiance of this place.

A nice open, city square, with a resident Carousel that lightens up the square by night. Worth a trip and then following with an ice cream. Don’t be pulled in by the ‘fake’ musicians though.
My favorite bridge to sit and take pictures. Not as crowded as ponte vecchio and the edges are wide enough to sit and watch the world go by.

Natural beauty 👍 old bridges but yet so beautiful.
It’s a great place to take a photo from Ponte vecchio and it’s on Arno river and connect two parts, from there to Piazzale Michelangelo it takes 15 min by walking, it’s nice and in different seasons has different look, it’s beautiful

Amazing parts of Florence! Florence is beautiful by definition but the river and multiple bridges make the experience in Florence is better. This is the heart of Tuscany and many tourists flock here. Sometimes it’s extremely busy and it’s no way to find parking if you drive here or you have to park far away. The river is an plays its amazing part too so it divides the city. Sometimes it’s so busy it’s even hard to walk. You definitely have to visit this part of Florence.
You can buy combined tickets on the spot to most of the attractions, but expect the climb to the Dome to be sold out. A timeslot for that needs to be reserved in advance. However, I enjoyed the view from the tower just the same (the difference between the tower's and dome's heights is somewhere around 50 steps, so no big deal!). Also important to note that the Cathedral itself is closed on Sundays, I wasn't aware of this. But if you buy the combined ticket that also includes the visit to the crypt underneath the cathedral, the entrance is through the cathedral so you'll still get a glimpse of it from the inside, even if you are not allowed to walk around and explore.

Piazza della Signoria is a w-shaped square in front of the Palazzo Vecchio in Florence, Italy. It was named after the Palazzo della Signoria, also called Palazzo Vecchio. It is the main point of the origin and history of the Florentine Republic and still maintains its reputation as the political focus of the city. It is the meeting place of Florentines as well as the numerous tourists, located near Palazzo Vecchio and Piazza del Duomo and gateway to Uffizi Gallery.

This is a great bridge in the sense that it offers great views all around, and good access to Piazzale Michelangelo plus the eastern side of Florence. In the morning this will get busy with work traffic. Expect lots of joggers and bike riders as well. It offers a great perspective for shooting Ponte Vecchio
One of the more ancient bridges, looks majestic and is not too busy in the morning
