Downs Park Public Pier is the most beautiful place to go to fish very peaceful and you get to meet very nice people as well.
Didn't catch anything but the scenery is beautiful

The pier is awsome great place to fish and meet people
Nice little spot to take the kids fishing. Hooked up on a few small ones and a good size catfish. The pier is clean and provides a good set up for you and your family to do some good ol 🎣. The bathroom is a good distance from the pier so that is something to keep in mind if you have little ones. We went on a week day and it was not to crowded
Good period for fishing unfortunately the fish are small . But also you can go crabbing and crabby it's not too bad there it's a good place to be it's a longer pier in a long way to walk to the bathrooms. But you can get the maintenance people to give you a ride from the parking lot to the beginning of the pier which is very helpful for some people with the walking disabilities. Good place to go and have fun!
Pier is small, could get crowded, especially over the weekends. Better chance to catch catfish or bigger fish is to cast at least 40 yards toward the north side of the pier. Decent size perch can be caught right under the pier sometimes. Razor clam and bloodworm are always good bait. BTW, some some strange reason, sun shades/umbrellas are not allowed on the pier.
