Pret A Manger

Went to pay for my item and the girl at the counter was way to busy on her phone to give me a total. I asked how much and she says $11 and to swip my card. Again still on her phone when I Said I am paying cash. Finally she had no choice but to put the phone down and handle the transaction. Workers should not be on the phone and should be attentive to the customers.

I ordered a flat white, which was supposed to be 12 oz, but what I received is this much (indicating a lesser amount). It’s ironic because the capacity of this cup is also 12 oz.

It was 7:10 and the staff were visibly annoyed when I came in asking for a ice coffee. First of all it was well before closing, second it was as though I asked for a cappuccino . The man actually was exasperated …”you want a large or small? We only have enough for small. Black right?” He briskly asks while rolling his eyes, I accept the offer of a small and did so with gratitude since it was 89 degrees out. I could have forgiven his rude and dismissive attitude , even though it was pretty blatant and deliberately done ….
Until i said I’m just going to sit for 5 min, but I’ll go right away I won’t linger. Really I needed to catch my breath for a moment. I refused me, “dining area is closed. “‘
Honestly, what a ridiculous barista . What was I going to do, make a mess with my small iced coffee? I was alone, and wouldn’t have been in anyone’s way. His coworker was no better, she was even more irritated and obvious that she could care less. I would understand if it was 5 minutes before closing. I wouldn’t complain had I been I could order but not stay. I would have rather left and gone elsewhere and made a purchase wherever I ended up. Where was I to go with a prey coffee in hand. Lame lame lame place and rude staff. Awful attitude, no manners, no effort, and by the way I was in service for 15 years and Never behaved that way to a customer. Not once, as a matter of fact I remember the higher end places I worked at would stay open later if someone walked in one min before closing and never ever rush them out. Buch a rude children need to learn some professionalism

I love the tea Pret A Manger has. The Earl Grey they use always rocks!

This is the best Pret location I’ve been to in NYC.
I go every morning and simply love the staff, especially the Yafessei and the manager that is always with her.
They are the best always with a smile and giving a great start to other pop’s day.

I stopped in at around 1:30 pm on a weekday after my trip to The Strand. They were not terribly busy at this time. I really enjoyed my food, an egg sandwich and veggie harvest soup. There were plenty of options for vegetarian folk, which was great for me. The prices are not too high. Staff were friendly. Establishment was mostly clean, there were a few dirty tables but nothing too serious. They do have outlets available by tables if you are in need of them. I would return here again if given the chance.

Got kicked out by staff for no good reason! I BOUGHT food and was at this place doing schoolwork for about two hours. Just like ALOT of people i saw use this café to work on their laptops. There isnt any posted time limit. I wasn’t loitering. Some people had been there since before me! I spent money on their overpriced food and was not taking up needed seating. There was PLENTY of seats the whole time i was there. Maybe it was because i wasn’t in a suit? Or an old white businessman, or something. Maybe not. But one of the employees (a manager i think) was rude and insinuated i had to leave; because I’d been there for 2 hours. I was gonna buy (their overpriced) lunch there while i finished schoolwork. But no thanks!! I’ll go next door where people arent so rude and judgy. Never coming back.
