Lalibela Ethiopian Restaurant and Cafe

Went to this place after an Ethiopian buddy recommended it to me and I was not disappointed. First time trying Ethiopian food and it was fantastic ! Really enjoyed the variety of curries available, especially enjoyed the lamb. The bread was really unique and paired along perfectly with the curries. The restaurant had a relaxed vibe and the interior decorations added to that vibe positively. The owner was super friendly and service was spot on (can’t complain with free bread refills). A real gem of a place.

I was actually really surprised. Walking in it looked very authentic and place seemed really nice.

When looking through the menu I definitely had second thoughts about the place. Was confusing and seemed that there would be no food I like.

Ordered a few dishes to share and started eating and WOW. The food was so good. Definitely a different experience in the way of eating but I tell you, that food was amazing. The owner was a really nice guy, too. He explained everything really well to us as we were a bit confused at first about how to eat.

This is a typical “don’t judge a book by its cover” type of situation. My Mum is a really picky eater and even she enjoyed it.

Delicious Ethiopian food in a very cool setting. It’s share style so you can try a lot of different things! Very enjoyable meal.

Awesome food, service, setting and atmosphere. Possibly the best Ethiopian restaurant we’ve been to in Australia (we’ve tried restaurants in most of the capital cities). Highly recommended.

This was such a beautiful restaurant and experience! The owner was lovely and the tables were so unique - they looked like they were imported from Ethiopia. The food was phenomenal. You can get extra injera for free with your meal. We got the mixed vegetraian and meat dishes. Next time we will come back to try the stew! Highly recommend coming here.
