Food was delicious. Service was good. The place was clean. I highly recommend the Dan Dan noodles and the pounded aubergine. Dumplings were tasty but there’s better in London.

Top notch Chinese restaurant in London focusing on Sichuan cuisine. Well organised and popular, you'll find a large selection of Sichuan dishes (Gong Bao J'ai Ding, Mapo Dofu, Dan Dan Mian...). The dishes are well balanced without being over poweringly spicy, not too oily and well portioned to ensure you order a few dishes to share. If you can't finish your food, take it home. Reservations recommended (it's busy and they'll want the tablets back). It's London prices but great value for the quality. A great Chinese restaurant.

Loved loved loved this spot! A must-try — especially if you don’t have a lot of authentic Szechuan food where you come from. Going on my short list of places to come back to in London and to recommend to others.

Really cute atmosphere and decent service. Small place, so can feel a little cramped — I recommend coming during an off hour. Late lunch / early dinner at 2 or 3pm was perfect!

Everything we tried was great — but we definitely over-ordered! You can easily share 4-5 appetizer and/or small meat dishes and be good here. The specials are huge bowls of assorted meats that are definitely a whole meal for 2 (but so delicious).

Loved everything from the pork roll appetizer (which is actually delicious thinly sliced carrots rolled in pork), to the smashed cucumber (a great cooling vegetable dish to go with everything else), to the cold sliced beef appetizer with beef tongue (super spicy and yummy), to the beef and onions (tender, classic beef that even picky people would love), to the special mocai — which came in a huge bowl of spicy broth with fish balls, tripe, prawns, thinly sliced beef, luncheon pork (like SPAM), etc. I added the pork intestine, but I’d recommend that in a dry wok instead, so it gets crispy. The chicken feet were probably my least favorite — I loved the crunchy texture and that they were already cut off the bone, but a little too much on the sweet side. Maybe they can be ordered in a different sauce?

Know what you’re getting yourself into.

Are you interested in activating new taste buds or engaging existing ones in a completely new way? Then come here. I don’t know what it is about chillies in this cuisine but they are known to numb your tongue and lips. And boy do they do that. Not for the faint hearted.

The ‘regular’ dishes are also worthwhile. So you don’t need to be experimental to come here.

Like it or not, this place will engage taste sensations you didn’t know were possible or normal. Try it and enjoy a new experience!

Dishes are fairly spicy and tasty. I visited the restaurant twice in last 2 weeks. Their service is good however it can be improved if waiters/waitresses are more friendly and relaxed. The vibe was quite cold and stressful to me.

I had an incredible dining experience at Bar Shu. It truly stands out as the best Chinese food I've ever tasted. The Cantonese noodles, sweet and sour chicken, and spring rolls were all outstanding. The ordering process, where you fill out a paper, was efficient, and the prices were very reasonable. What truly made the experience exceptional was the fantastic food and impeccable service. I highly recommend Bar Shu to anyone seeking an unforgettable Chinese cuisine adventure.

Ordered the sliced sea bass with fresh chillies and sichuan peppercorn (regular size) which is a big portion for 2 people. The fish is fresh and not fishy. It’s not as spicy as expected though.

Went here for another time and it’s still very great!
