The beet kubbeh, quite literally, brought me to tears. The first bite took me straight to my late grandmother's kitchen table and I immediately got chills and started to tear up. These were flavors I didn't even know I was missing.... And how much I really missed them. This small, corner restaurant is easy to miss if you're not on the lookout, but keep a sharp eye, because if you only have ONE place to eat lunch in Jerusalem, it better be here - hands down, no question, I wouldn't even think twice. In addition to the nostalgic beet kubbeh, I also enjoyed the Rahmo Ketzitzah, a kabob-like, ground meat log in tomato sauce, along with the heady spices of the maqluba, punctuated with dollops of the fresh green schug which is probably one of the best I've ever had the pleasure to enjoy - spicy without being spicy. I cannot wait to make another sojourn to this lovely lovely place with friendly staff, and generally convivial atmosphere making you feel like you're eating in grandma's kitchen.

The daughter of the owner was very nice, the food is excellent. The best hummus I had by far and the salad and pickles were fresh. The pita was also very soft and nicely baked. 10/10

It's always a good place to eat when you see locals in there. Great home cooking. I had meatballs with rice which I really enjoyed. Order at the window. I could not read the Hebrew signs but the ladies spoke English.
(PS: The guy working there got in trouble for trying to take my empty tray buy he asked and I told him he could and thanked him)

The restaurant has managed to hold onto its glory days, with little change over the years. The food is simple and honest, served on basic plates. While the place may show signs of wear and tear, it was clean and tidy during our visit.

Being a popular spot, the restaurant can get quite busy. However, we chose to visit on a quiet midweek afternoon, allowing us to relax and enjoy our meal without any hassle.

Speaking of the food, it was undeniably tasty. My only wish was that it had been served warmer, including the hummus. The portions were generous, but the heaviness of the meal made it a bit challenging to digest, especially on a hot summer day. It definitely left me craving a nap afterwards!

Unfortunately, the rise of trendy new restaurants and bars in the market has caused prices to soar, taking away from what used to be an affordable and filling meal for workers. As a result, the restaurant no longer offers good value for money. Instead, dining there feels like taking a nostalgic trip back to the kitchens of yesteryear.

So, if you're seeking a taste of the past and don't mind the higher prices, this restaurant can still satisfy your cravings. Just be prepared for a meal that leans more towards sentimentality than affordability.

So I really like their food but I’m confused because the first time I went here and the second time I went here I got pretty much the same thing and the first time I went i was charged 34 us dollars on my credit card (equivalent in shekels, I wasn’t paying attention in the store but that’s how much ultimately was taken out of my card) which seemed ridiculous and the second time 12 us dollars (equivalent in shekels) which is a great deal so I have no clue what happened

Eating here is like going home for a meal. There is a family atmosphere and everything is delicious. One of my favorite places to eat in the shuk area.
