If I could gave this place zero stars I would. Beware when renting from AVIS in Mexico. There are environmental regulations which do not allow you to drive cars with a certain license plate on certain days. AVIS will not inform you which days or even try notifying you. If you are driving the car on those days and you get pulled over. You can either pay the fine or they will confiscate the license plate. Either way, the toll/fee will come out of your pocket and AVIS will do nothing to accommodate you. I rented a car from here for 3 days and had to return on the 4th day. I was pulled over for having the wrong license plate and I was not going pay the fee which is about $150 US so I told them to take the license plate thinking AVIS would cover it since they did not warn me. Then they charged me $270 US because they said the license plate being confiscated was my fault. I had a returning flight that day so I couldn't just wait until the next day to return it. All I can say is BEWARE!! Try a different car rental service! This location was even more unprofessional and unwilling to help!

The worst. Do not use Avis.
They deliver 2hrs late vs planned.
The computers on the office tend to fail and continuously without internet

Rented with them maybe 15-20 times, and have never had any problems. Always great service in the office, and the cars come in great condition. Most important is that the price I see online is the price I pay.

It takes way too long to pick up a car at Avis Mexico in paseo reforma otherwise everything was ok

Tried to charge me 4000 pesos for returning a car after 3 weeks with a little dust on the outside and seats that could be fixed with 5 minutes of vacuuming.
I managed a rental car office for 10 years and had thousands of cars come back 10 times worse than my car, and we never once blinked – we just spent the 10 minutes it took to clean it.
This location either has incompetent detailers who can’t get a car clean without the customer bringing it back pristine, or they are greedy, money-hungry thieves.
If it had been a reasonable charge, like 200 pesos, I would’ve just paid it and rolled my eyes and moved on. But instead, the only option they gave was for me to take the keys back, pay for another day of rental, go have the car cleaned somewhere else, and then bring it back. Which I did (cost: 105 pesos, not 4000 pesos).
Management here should be fired, IMHO, and I say that as a former manager in the industry.

Do not waste your time or money at this location I have rented from Avis in multiple different countries around the world, they always exceeded expectations. However this location engages in very suspicious employee behavior We made a reservation in person today with a female Avis employee who quoted us at $560 USD for a truck rental for 4 days, way above market rate but I wanted to believe they were being honest. She told us our contract was opened, and we could return at 8pm that night to pick up. We didn’t receive a confirmation of any sort, but otherwise had no reason to suspect foul play. We spent about 45 minutes completing the first reservation. When we arrived back this evening at 8pm as discussed, the evening employee had no record of our reservation, and started a new reservation. We took photos again, provided personal information again, and spent another 45 minutes rebooking. After taking our information, they claimed their computers went down, and proceeded to fill out a paper form again with our information, now stating a new increased price of $780 USD. They refused to honor the original price that was given to us. This was a huge waste of time that resulted in a scam. I’m so disappointed as we’ve otherwise had a wonderful time in Mexico City, but this ordeal with Avis left a horrible impression. Do not trust these employees or business owners, they are by up to no good. You can save A LOT of money and time by renting from another location.

It took us over an hour just to get our car despite having made a reservation. So much for having a “Quick Pass”. The “system was down”, one employee slowly typing into a computer while another looked on helplessly and a massive queue formed. Then they didn’t want to accept the credit card that I had already used to pay for the reservation, which cost us another 20 minutes. A million and one ways to waste time on a weekend getaway 🙃
