Beautiful piece of history. Former baths and gardens of the Sultans palace, built in the 1700s. Very well kept and usually not too crowded. Doesn’t take long to see the whole place but worth taking a moment to have a breath in the oasis.

Taman Sari, also known as the Water Castle, is a hidden gem in Yogyakarta! The historical significance and beautiful architecture make it a must-visit. The tranquil water gardens, underground tunnels, and regal bathing pools are captivating. Walking through the ruins, you can feel the rich history of the Sultanate.. It's a peaceful retreat from the city's hustle and bustle, perfect for history buffs and photography enthusiasts alike. Highly recommend going there early before it gets busy.

Very beautiful place! Tickets are 25K for foreigners, cash only. It took us only 30 minutes to see everything, but the fountains are very soothing.

I enjoyed this place. Its clean and very historical. They provide "volunteer" for explanation and route guide. Our guide brought us to the village that is connected to royal villa and explained the history behind the building. Please give some tips for them.

You can buy the ticket at the counter. Not a long wait. 25k for foreigner.

Cool place to visit indeed! Architecture is beautiful and you get out of the hustle and bustle of Yogya for a bit. I was however missing some historical context to the building at the site. “What am I looking at? How and when was it built?” If there were some infographics available that would have been a bit better. If you spend a few days in Yogya, it is however still worth a visit.

You need to venture deeper than just to the pool. Then you can walk into the small streets, most of the premises are still inhabited by people working for the sultan.
Ticket for foreigners is 25 000 rupiah (April 2024), which I find fair.

There are some guides (brown uniform) and they can tell you about the area and show you around. But beware that the showing around will inevitably end up in a shop.

Really nice place to relax because it’s very green

Well maintained historical site. Very clean and the guide is very well informed. The guide shows you a good spot to take pictures and they will take it for you.
Ticket for domestic tourist is only 15.000 per person above 12 y.o. tour guide 100.000, but you can go in and explore without the tour guide too
Lovely place!
