Impossible to get a cell phone at this location. There is never anyone there or they are always on lunch. Been here 3 times to get a cellphone and no one around. Person behind the counter can't even access them. Go to greenbacks you will be in and out within 10 minutes with a new phone

It’s time to add more cashiers, it is obvious that people don’t want to use the self checkout. When you shop in an expensive store like WF you expect at least to have an exceptional service not to be directed to self checkout.
I’ve lived in Trenton for several years, and while this Walmart location has always been the “backup plan” for groceries and cosmetics, today was likely the last time I’ll set foot in the building.

Management needs to either grow a backbone against corporate, or develop compassion towards associates, or some mix of the two. Every single worker I passed to during my visit was visibly frustrated or upset. I’m talking tears in their eyes, shaking their heads, or a complete and near-horrified despondence.

However it is these workers are being treated, whether by customers or management, it’s evident to anyone with empathy that it’s abysmal.

Too few staff, with too little training (some of the situations inferred by emphatic overhead PA calls would’ve been comical if not so tragic), working for too small pay.

That doesn’t even touch on the fact that every single regularly-stocked item I was looking for today was out of stock. All of them, across several departments. Kitty litter, hand soap, wiper fluid, coffee cream. This entire store is broken and needs to either be turned around or shuttered.

✌🏻

Mel. B. of Trenton Walmart helped me and my family tremendously. She went out of her way to assist us and look after our concerns with an online order. She and her staff conducted themselves with respect and integrity.

Much appreciated.

Recently cashiers expect customers to pack their items. If they are going to make you pack your own they need to lower their prices from 3 x the rate of other stores.
Maxi Grocery Store consistently impresses me with its extensive selection and reliable stock.

Whenever I visit, I find everything I need, making my shopping experience both convenient and efficient.

The well-organized layout and helpful staff further enhance the overall satisfaction of my trips to Maxi.
Amazing fresh bread, super nice staff, great selection of Persian foods and really nice meats
This store used to be the best one around for markdown deals. Now their stock hardly ever changes, and they rarely mark things down. They still have a lot of Christmas items, and they're not marked down. The little clearance section at the front has looked mostly the same for months. Some of the staff are wonderful and will go above and beyond for you. Some staff are miserable to deal with (a few of the ones who have been there a long time) and make you feel unwelcome in their small town store. I used to like going to this store. Not anymore. I dread it.

Now that I have read through other reviews, I see I'm not the only one who has had trouble with a particular staff member. This needs to be addressed. Though she is not the only one. There are a few women up front who are resistant to helping customers, belittle their customers (often in front of other customers), and generally present an unwelcome feel. I sincerely dread having to deal with the select few, and will avoid them in most cases. They all need to follow Jacqui's example of ALWAYS offering wonderful, friendly customer service.

I find it a bit small, but I appreciate the free 2 hr parking! I also get my Salsa Salami that I cannot get anywhere else (only at IGA so far, I have found).
I recently bought glasses at Walmart and received the best service! The staff member, Harman, was absolutely amazing. She was helpful, knowledgable, and very professional. Best service.
All the staff at Walmart vision Centre provide great customer service.
Very little diverse food items and selection. Only puts 50% off produce when it's already inedible, but I hear Galen is getting rid of discounts anyway so, I can only imagine how much good waste they generate.

I’m an everyday long time shopper. The staff is always super helpful and always nice. Unfortunately yesterday I got food poisoning from the hot bar. This would be the third time in the last 3 months from the same hot bar and location. There needs to be better management for that particular station so someone else doesn’t get sick or worse. I’ll be back, I just won’t be eating from that hot bar.
Purchased a Phillips 32” Smart TV Thursday pm. Cannot remember the gentleman’s name that assisted - can’t find my receipt. Regardless he was kind, patient and very knowledgeable.

Very helpful pleasant staff, also this store has a great selection of the kind of items you may not get at other grocery stores like gluten free and Japanese sauces and frozen shrimp tempera, raw tuna and Italian pancetta. These items have not risen in price (or were on sale) since the summer. Pleasantly surprised at that! Could have been 5 stars if all the prices were a bit lower but still all in all it was a well spent gift card!🙂
Such a toxic place. They just installed a man trap at the front entrance. Forgot to grab a cart? You either have to walk around, or force the gate which will set off an alarm.
I wonder what Sam Walton would have thought about what they did to his company.
What a sad place. The few times I go here I'm always reminded of why I don't go more often.

I'd like to find a job where I can stand behind a counter... talk to my coworkers... watch customers use self checkout... then yell at them to put a cart away instead of thanking them for shopping in out over priced store...... great customer service and shopping experience 👍 👌
Formerly Young Brothers. Some staff is the same but the vibe is different - less crowded and wider aisles. Good values.

Sadly I don't believe I can shop here anymore... This is my favorite grocery store with the friendliest employees and it's quite literally a five minute walk from where I live.. and I love to support local businesses..

Since i moved around the corner I'd shop here weekly but now the prices are criminal... The only thing worth buying is meat... I get times are tough but I don't know many places greedy enough to charge $2 sometimes $3-4 above what I find to be average market price... I went there today, and got $35 worth of groceries where anywhere else would charge $20-$25 maybe even less.

$6 for a can of soup? $10 for a bag or box of cereal? $6 for a can of condensed milk? $7 for a case of bubbly? Doesn't sound like much... But add all of that together for the average person and compare it to the price of even the super store or Walmart.. and even Sobeys sometimes, let alone no frills for food basics...

I love this place... But it's gotten greedy... The prices weren't always the lowest but I used to be able to at least afford to ship here.. even my boyfriend complains every time we go in there about the prices and thats usually my job 😅... I won't be doing my grocery runs here any more... Ill come by to grab a $6 pack of hamburger and maybe the odd time if I'm craving or forget a single item and don't feel like taking an hour out of my day to travel to pick it up.. but asides from that I'm sad to say I can't support this place anymore and I hate to say that I need to go support a large corporation that's working to get these places out of business, and damn I can't say I'm surprised it's working...

If the prices were a little more reasonable I'd be happy to give it a 5 start review because of how great the people are, despite the customers xD including an old man trying to fight me and homeless people getting caught stealing.. it's entertaining at least xD (that stuff doesn't bother me I feel more bad for the employees having to deal with it) but yes... The prices are that bad to forget about all of that... When I can get twice the amount of groceries anywhere else for the same overall price I'm paying here for the SAME products... Sad part is, quite a few of the meat products have been expired as well, except for things like ground beef, chicken, pork, etc... be careful with the pre packaged meat...

By the way... If you think in wrong try looking somewhere else and you'll see the price differences

And I'd also like to point out the parking lot.. if you try to leave the back way, your going to destroy your back bumper... And it's been this way forever, they'll put some gravel down or something and it'll look fine, but when you go to drive over it.. BANG your cars f*cked... I know it may not be their property, but it is their responsibility to have it sorted out with the property owners or city or have it blocked off.. or they may have a law suit on their hands some day.. please at the very least put up a sign..
Nice and cosy place to find fresh products. They're full of customer service skills and helpful to find items I needed. Especially, Aziz was helping me out with price checks and browsing the vegetables.

Walmart's staff members consistently offer helpful and friendly assistance. Whenever I'm unsure about a product's location, the team promptly guides me to the exact aisle.

A special shout-out goes to Kesha, who patiently assisted me with scanning items without tags. She expertly assisted me and remained attentive to my needs. Thank you for your help!

Keep up the great work! For sure you all are seen for your hard work.

The meat prices are amazing but what really wowed me was the fresh bread! The baker made sure to take the time to explain what his different loaves were and helped me pick the perfect freshly baked loaf - it was so good! I ate half the bag plain on my bus ride home.

It's your standard grocery store... but it was difficult to get there as Google maps kept directing us to entrances that were one-way exits. The selection is very minimal. Otherwise, it's decent for the location.
My first time coming to this Maxi as a pit-stop going to a friend's place. Was surprised at how big it was and just how large of a fruits & veggie department they have. Was quite clean as well on my visit. Noticed a lot of items that my local Maxi doesnt have. Overall good spot!
Hi just commenting about the new assistant at the front when you walk in many complaints about the Arabs and how they are taking to the younger women and especially the women in there late teens. This is disgusting and unacceptable behaviour brought by ours truly the ARABIAN and they should go back to there desserts the one today was looking at a place where he should have not been looking and said your cute can I have your number? He is 30 and she was 16 gross behaviour. He was working on December 3rd 2023 at 2 pm. Please say something and do something about this it’s happening all over this place I see it everywhere the Arabs always look where they shouldn’t look !!!

Got $40 worth of expired food from there.

I didnt think that in Canada i have to check expiration date of every item before purchase.

FETA expired.
Gnocchi expired.
Canned foods expired (for years).

This IGA is a very convenient store at a great location in the middle of town. The selection of groceries is decent, although not my go-to (I recommend the Safeway instead). However, if you stop by, know that IGA is still a decent choice for groceries.

So disappointing. I walked into the store today where I have been shopping at for years, and saw that more than half of the checkout stands had been removed. The update from the cashier who rang up my groceries was that it has been decided that self check-out kiosk will replace the cashier's at this quaint neighbourhood grocery store. What an enormous loss for those of us who shop this Whole Foods, in the West End. This is definitely not the demographic that will benefit in anyway from this change. I for one shop here and pay higher prices, because of the excellent customer service, small neighbourhood feel, and the tradition of having an actual person that rings through my groceries and actually bags them. Definitely not the right decision for this location and clientele.

This pertains only to the photo section at the Charlottetown Walmart.

Trying to get a head of the Christmas rush my wife and I placed a few orders for photo prints, 1 poster, magnets and 2 ornaments.

I just had my 4th trip in to get these picked up and still need to return in hopes of getting the poster.

Each trip has exceeded over 30-45 minutes waiting for the employees to search for the completed prints. It is very apparent that training or common sense is taking a toll on this department.

From my experience of about 2-3 hours waiting in the past 4 days you can tell they do not know what they are doing. A simple task of asking the customer their last name and then searching in the drawers and folders is too difficult for them.

My experience yesterday, I was 8th in line and everyone ahead of me was picking up photos. The girl working you could tell had no idea what she was doing and it was a conversation amoungst us in line. Out of the 8 people ahead of me she told 6 of them that their photos were missing or not printed correctly. I cannot prove she was incorrect but with how confused she was it was very apparent she was just telling customers this so she did not have to deal with the issue.

The first 2 times I was in also was a long wait in line and then getting the service representative to only be told an excused as to why my prints were not done, even though we received the pickup notice via email.

In short, as a company/employer you need to do better for your customer and staff alike, as it is not fair to either.

Lastly, it should be a minimal requirment that when hiring staff, they can at least breathe and blink at the same time, from what I have seen in these past 4 visits, that is a task that they cannot do.

You can find Persian groceries plus delicious Persian foods in there. I highly recommend to try their Ash reshte (an Iranian traditional soup)
Do not like the gates feel like a animal been sent to be slathered. As a senior living alone I hate the multiple sales and if you only want one you pay through the nose. Hate the lack of cashiers as someone with a handicap those self checkouts are not convenient. Don't like the reduced hours for the pharmacy there are products that are not available because they're lock up .

I love this store. The prices are fair, fresh produce, and lots of other cool products from Asian to European specialty foods. Definitely recommend! Support local :)
Well organized, reasonable prices, Iranian brand groceries, and Halim on weekends 👍🏻 you can find home made like Iranian food and Iranian groceries brand
Me and my brother went Walmart today and We recently had a concerning experience at Walmart that compels me to share my feedback. Upon purchasing a product, I discovered it was expired. When I approached the manager for assistance, the response was disheartening. The manager admitted unreliability but trying to blame vendor for the presence of expired items on the shelves.

This raises a critical question: If health issues arise due to consuming these expired products, who will take responsibility? Attached are pictures of the product with the clear expiration date and the corresponding receipt.

This situation demands urgent attention. Customers rely on the integrity of the products sold, and I believe Walmart should prioritize the well-being of its patrons. I hope this review serves as a catalyst for improved quality control measures and a commitment to customer safety.

I wish to express my profound concern regarding a recent encounter at Walmart, pertaining to the purchase of a product that was subsequently discovered to be past its expiration date. Regrettably, when I sought clarification from the store manager, the response provided indicated a recognition of unreliability, coupled with an apparent reluctance to address the conspicuous presence of expired items on the sales floor.

This circumstance prompts a fundamental query: In the event that health-related issues arise from the consumption of these expired products, to whom does the responsibility for such repercussions fall? I have attached photographic documentation delineating the product in question, clearly displaying its expiration date, along with the corresponding transactional receipt.

This issue necessitates immediate attention. The trust customers place in the integrity of the products procured is foundational to their shopping experience. It is my sincere hope that this review serves as a catalyst for the institution of enhanced quality control measures, thereby reinforcing Walmart's commitment to the safety and well-being of its esteemed clientele.
Great, but there are few bus lines in the street. Access is not very easy to this store. The prices are better than other stores in my opinion.
I must say Krista in electronics is utterly amazing. She treated me with respect and got me all set up with my phone from start to finish. I've had a rough time lately and she really made everything so easy. She was so courteous even though she was swamped. Thanks to her I walked out without the stress I walked in with. That girl deserves a raise 👏

I am puzzled by the consistent shortages of essential groceries at Walmart, particularly items like paneer and Sher Aaata. Unfortunately, this time, I had a particularly unpleasant experience with the groceries I purchased. Specifically, I bought Brar's Paneer and discovered foreign material within the product. To make matters worse, there were no alternative options for paneer available. Regrettably, my dissatisfaction with this purchase means that I no longer wish for a refund or a replacement item. I would prefer to simply accept the loss of the $5 or $6 I spent.

I am disappointed with the overall quality of service and the product, and I appreciate the less-than-satisfactory experience.

Always like going to Walmart to find really good deals, especially in the clearance section. Found some beautiful yellow mum flowers in the garden centre and decided picking up a pot. Have to be mindful of which flowers you're picking though as some of them aren't always the best ones. So make sure when you're picking up a pot of flowers that you check the soil moisture and if it's got high moisture content then you know you've got a good flower.
Pretty standard for a smaller town, the layout is horrible though. Inconsistent with hot or ready to go meals

This used to be our go-to store, but since Jimmy Pattison bought it, the price gouging has become offensive. An ordinary bag of granulated sugar for $8.99 (on sale for Thanksgiving!) - I bought the exact same product at Safeway for $3.79 (full price, same size). In a time of high inflation and massive wealth disparity, please don't pretend to be a 'community market'. I'll be avoiding this store at all costs.
Most of the prices have gone up under the new management. I bought a tuna for $7 with no tag on the shelf. Won't go there anymore.
They have these great sweet sour mandarins which i haven’t had for so many years and it was amazing! Thanks!

High quality in-season fruits and vegetables. Very reasonable prices. Happy staff :)
Ok, the secret’s out- head to the freezer and look for the magical saffron, pistachio and rose water ice cream bar. This beautiful masterpiece is creamy, floral and hits the sweet spot. There are so many light and collaborative notes that seem to sing a song of green lush fields. The best part is, it’s dipped in a thick white chocolate that shatters at the tooth. At only $3.99, this treat I thought about keeping a secret(shh)can be your personal journey to happiness.
Excellent customer service and friendly clerks. Docked one star only because there was a shortage of products which may have been due to Hurricane Lee.

This afternoon I went to get some coffee IGA @ 4th Ave & Collingwood st and this staff Tanya, also the sister of the franchise owner of this location was not only rude and unprofessional considering she is one of the senior staff there.. I was getting my coffee in my mug and she quickly came and count the number of pumps I put on my mug reading out aloud to me. I asked her why are you counting, she said she wants to know how much coffee I put in there. That's ridiculous, intimidating of a customer while pouring its coffee, she is the devil of the pack. She has been telling the other morning cashier to charge me a large coffee. All these while the other staffs have been charging me a medium size coffee and once I asked why the inconsistency, the morning cashier rudely said I will charge you a large next time. I can pay for the coffee for whatever price but please be professional and treat your customers with respect. No smile and no respect, unprofessional approach kind of service is unacceptable.
I called for the assistant manager Terry and told him about the situation and he did nothing because she is the sister's owner of this store. A total of 3 cashiers showed bad attitude towards their customers. I deserve an apology either from the management or from Tanya herself.
I strongly do not recommend this place due to the attitude and rudeness of their staffs, highly overpriced and I will continue to update my reviews when deemed necessary.

Crazy expensive, this grocery store has Whole Foods-like pricing (some things even like Erewhon I swear…!) The bakery is good and it’s handy for grabbing beach snacks or fancy sauces, but too expensive for actual grocery shops. Also, they don’t accept Scene points!
I had an order kobideh from Vanak market today. It was so bad and dry and then I found out they pre made it in the morning and microwavd it after .also how knows when was pre made it. They said we made it in the morning ,but I can not trust them. Anyway this market is so dirty and unorganized. It was my first and last purchase at this market. I am going to report to heath canada.this market is not safe to buy food. It was dirty cat was walking in the store. DO NOT BUY ANYTHING
Watch out at Maxi Verdun - bought this ground beef today. Package and price for 1.313kg. Was weighting it out for a recipe and it didn't seem right. Weighed the full package and it was only 802g. Missing over 40% of what it claimed it was (500g).

Its not just chips and bread Loblaws is scamming us on.

Bad experience here. Organic veggies are full of bugs. Bough a pack of oysters and it said packed on the same day. After removing the wrap, the print on the box said the process day was 9 days ago. This store sticked their label to cover the process date on the box. And of course the oysters had a stink smell. Now I'm sick because of the food. Avoid this place!
My encounter with Vanak Market left much to be desired. After purchasing kashk, I was dismayed to discover it was not only bitter but also in a rotten state. Recognizing the potential health risks associated with consuming spoiled kashk, I promptly returned to the store to seek an exchange.

However, my attempts to communicate my concerns to the staff were met with silence. I was informed that the manager was unavailable and informed that their policy prevented me from returning the product. This forced me to buy a replacement out of necessity. The lack of responsiveness and empathy from the staff left me disappointed.

In a second attempt to address the issue, I revisited the store to return the rotten kashk. Regrettably, my experience did not improve. The treatment I received was less than satisfactory, and my request for a return was initially refused. After a lengthy discussion, I was eventually granted the return. The manager's final remark, advising me not to return as a customer, only added to my dissatisfaction.

It's unfortunate that Vanak Market's customer service was subpar and unaccommodating. This experience has raised concerns about their product quality and their commitment to customer satisfaction. I hope they take these concerns seriously and work towards improving their services for future customers.

Favorite grocery store in the area. If you like a good deal, you'll always find one here if you're flexible with your shopping list. I usually save at least $20-40 per shop here compared to the big chain grocery stores and the meat is better quality too.

They didn't have a good reputation for their produce section but the last time I checked I noticed some improvements including fresher produce and a small fresh juice section which complements the shopping experience. Overall, the store is better managed than before. They have competitive grocery prices compared to other budget grocery markets such as Persia Foods. They also have a small deli for lunch and dinner takeouts.
it is evident that this store focuses on purchasing locally…there are groceries that fit our budget….this Broadway store offers a variety of products and each time we enter there is a friendly welcoming..
They will not give back the deposits on the large bottles of water . We recently bought 3 jugs for our camping stay in the area but were surprised to learn we could not bring the bottles back for our $30 deposit back after the camping trip . We knew nothing of this return only for exchange when we paid the deposit. Please explain the reasoning of this . Thought the whole idea of the deposit was to ensure the bottles were returned, regardless of who returns the jugs.
The store is clean, people are friendly. I can't get over how much more expensive the "frills" are. Even the No-Name products are more expensive than there are at the NoFrills store. I only stopped here because I forgot to pick up ice cream at the No-Frills in Bridgewater. I did but many of the reduced items, that I would normally never buy at regular price. So we have many treats this week.
I have been to this store almost every week for the last month after work and have always been satisfied. The pricing is amazing and the customer service is on point.
Grossest walmart in my experience. They duct taped milk and put it back in the fridge. I bought it not knowing then it leaked all over my car, myself and my groceries. Everything soaked including my receipt.

Friendliest staff I've ever seen at a grocery store. They must be pumping happy gas into the air conditioner

Aside from the Persian items, this place has great fruits and vegetables. I bought fresh pistachios that are usually hard to find. They also sold fresh okra and mushrooms by the pound. Like good Persians, they sold 500 (!) types of grape. Haha!
Wow wow and wow that supermarket on fire so good prices very clean employees fly like on Red Bull quality product and fast service

Organic and natural food stores . Has parking lot and bus stop on same block . Its kinda pricey but not as expensive as some other health food stores. They are currently hiring. They got a points system . And a verity of things to choose from. It was very quiet and no line up at moment while here .

This smaller grocery chain (at least in Vancouver) has everything you need. It is a medium sized store. Free underground parking. #LetsGuide #covid
The best place in North Vancouver to do your grocery, especially if your are into a healthy, affordable , and fresh fruits and vegies. The prices are all reasonable. I love the store and specially their friendly and respectful staffs. Please give it a try, we need to support more of such business with high quality of costumer services. They definitely deserve a 5-star review.
Choices Markets is our local Kitsilano grocery store where we always find local, organic and many specialty prepared food products..entering from their available parking lot, the staff meet you with warmth and are easily available for directions to a food product aisle or to respond with a detailed explanation regarding a food item you may have a question about..
Small and cosy but very effective. Good selection of everything you expect in a grocery store including coffee, tea and pastries and even cakes. Worth mentioning is also the organic fruits and vegetables section. The overall appearance of the store has nicely improved over the last ten years. Really like to sit on the patio and to shop there. Parking is free.
Such a wonderful clean store - large selection of fresh fruit. We stopped in on our way to bike the sea wall, and grabbed some fruit and coconut water to take with to lunch. The cashier I spoke to was so nice, we had a wonderful conversation. Sometimes it’s the little things that make your day, and that was one of them. Fresh mango at the sea wall, a perfect lunch.

Fairly nice place, as a whole foods you'd expect about as much. Wide selection of options both fresh and not. The deli had some choice fresh sandwiches too. The staff was approachable and all in all a good experience. A little pricey but it's also core downtown.
I am very impressed by this store!
I try most Persian stores in North Vancouver and Downtown and like to support all businesses , but seems like lately most of my purchases happen at this place.
Very clean store even in the busiest hours.
Organized and very nice ,friendly staffs.
Enough parking around the area.
You can order special cut/portion meat from the butcher shop.
Bakery has fresh goods.
Fruits and vegetables are mainly fresh, but there were times that I was challenged with a specific item but that is not a dealbreaker these day and age.
For drivers!!
Walmart delivery follow green ->236 in traffic light befor Crossfit 782 make a left after home depot make a right!
Good luck!

A good place to buy Persian stuff and cheap vegetable and fruits. Staff are very friendly and polite. If you want to cook any Persian food, you can find all your ingredients and spices here. It's not on the main street but on the positive side you won't have issue finding a parking spot.

Great little store. It's a bit small and can be very crowded at times but they've got an excellent little seating area for coffee or even a meal. Great bakery and lots of options for hot, ready to go meals. This place has free parking, which is a big win in the city.

Coming from Australia I was really surprised to find an IGA in Vancouver. It's a thing here I guess :)
They had a decent selection of organics, gluten free etc.. they even have vegemite and marmite! Haha. Some things seemed expensive but they had lots of specials.
I would be more shocked about white mold under the produce shelves but I've seen that at so many grocery stores lately (no less than 3 times at WFM) that I'm no longer surprised...

This is about bistro/cafe: the staff is so polite and responsive. I bought today's special sandwich, Montreal smoked beef it was tasty and I usually DON'T EAT BEEF.
I've shared some pictures for you so that you can check it out too.
