Be careful playing music at your campground during ANY hours! We were told that you can play music, just not where it can be heard at the road which is literally 10 feet from the camper. Won't be going back!!!

One night stop on our way North to Alaska as the song goes. Back in site, level, asphalt, water/electric/sewer. Park was perhaps 1/4 full. Sites have plenty of space in between. No Park store but the Ranger recommended visiting the nearby Marina and perhaps they would something to remember our stop. Nope, just some food, bait and tackle. Worth the value. We camped at Poverty Point Reservoir State Park in a Travel Trailer

My family and I love staying in the cabins. They are roomy, clean and right on the water. You can literally fish from your porch. The area is quiet, the scenery is beautiful and there's plenty of wildlife to see!

The park is a pleasant place to camp. We saw many egrets, a heron, and other sea birds at the lake. I don't think there's much of a trail system here, but the heritage site isn't too far.

Beautiful area! The ground around the camp area is a little soggy, but that is not really surprising. The parking spots stayed high and dry.
Great price.
Some of the amenities are aging but they still work.

I was only here for an overnight stop. I was in campsite 9. It was easy to get into. The sites are paved and leveled. It is pretty spacious between sites. The park looks really nice. I would definitely come back when in the area.

A nice state park! Sites are pretty level, mostly good spacing (although there is little foliage between most sites). Sites 37-42 are in a separate loop, all pull-through. I stayed in site 42, which abuts a tree line and offers excellent privacy. Sites 43-52 are in a wooded section with better privacy (trees, foliage) than all other areas. Clean, heated bathhouse. And a 50% discount for 62plus! Definitely a great campground.
