Yakoo Engadine

We have been to Yakoo a few times now, this time we got a Penang Curry and Pad Thai, the food has usually been pretty consistent, but today the Pad Thai we got, the noodles were not fully cooked and pretty much inedible, the Penang curry was good as usual, not happy with this times experience, especially when it is the more expensive Thai restaurant in Engadine, I wish there was a bit more quality control.

We have eaten at Yakoo previously but on this occasion we're very disappointed. Slow to take our orders. Rice was COLD! and had to be sent back. Massaman lukewarm. Meals for 4 came out in dribs and drabs. Had to remind waitress for condiments that we ordered. No effort made to ensure customers are happy. Difficult to get the staff's attention for service. It was a Friday night but not that busy. The restaurant was also cold and we kept jackets on to stay warm. Sadly service in this country is woeful and it is no wonder restaurants come and go. Won't be back.

On our way to Royal National Park, my fiancé and I stopped by Engadine town centre to grab a bite. While there are mostly cafes around, we decided to try Thai food at Yakoo. Despite its almost fine dining setting, we were pleasantly surprised by the affordable prices. They even had lunch specials on a Sunday! We enjoyed the green curry with prawns and Pad Kee Mao, both authentic and delicious. Can’t recommend it enough! Please support this small business.

It disappoints me having to leave this review as the food is generally very good here. But the service is regularly shocking.
This evening I ordered a meal and was told it would be ready in 20 minutes. My partner arrived on time and was told it would be another 5 minutes however it was another 25 minutes before we got our food.
I decided to call the restaurant after 20 minutes hoping to find out what's going on, the lady who took my call hung up on me repeatedly without giving me a time just saying we are really busy today.
This information would have been useful when providing an ETA on it being ready when i placed my order.
I found the telephone manner extremely rude and service lacking and unapologetic.

We used to order from Yakoo a lot and decided we wanted Thai takeaway one night. We utilised their online delivery service which was very easy to use. 10 minutes later than the estimated delivery time, which is fine in my opinion. The food though was not what is used to be. Very little sauce or flavour, chicken satay skewers were tiny and all just lacked the special something Yakoo used to be.

Very disappointing. We waited 40 minutes to be acknowledged once seated.
No drinks or menus offered.
The service staff asked if we were ready to order-no idea we had no menus!
Received the menus, then staff proceeded to clear the wine glasses!
10 minutes later called the service staff and ordered a bottle of wine, entrees and main course.
Requested all food to be served together.
One main was served. 20 minutes later still waiting for the rest of the meals to be served which came in trickles. Waited up to 1 hour for all food requests to be served. One dish we were told wasn't available about 40 minutes in. Then waited another 30 or so minutes for a replacement dish.
The result was cold and tasteless food.

Apple watch kept sending alerts for 100 decibels reached. Was very noisy and could not have a decent conversation with my family.

Do not recommend and will not be going back.

Delicious Thai food - by far the BEST thai in the shire we LOVE IT ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐

The BBQ Pork is AMAZING so is the lamb massaman curry, and panang chicken is on point 💫💫💫

We did pick up as its a lot quicker than delivery and it was so worth it.

Can't wait to dine in once lockdown is over.
