By chance Hubby & I were able to visit on a Sat. & the Staff graciously let Us view the Private Museum on our own. Everyone needs to visit and support. Thank you and plan to stop in again.

I was at the museum for a private event, but the place is nicely done. I especially enjoyed the murals and themed rooms.

Very informative museum. It is a work in progress, as most small private museums that I know of are. They have an event in June they are hoping to have more settled exhibits by then. There is a wealth of knowledge to learn here even now. I am glad I found this on the list of places documenting the African American Heritage Trail and I am glad I came. I would suggest this museum for everyone with the slightest inclination to learning about the past so it doesn't repeat itself.

I love this museum. This was my 2nd visit. I tookmy oldest Grandson a few years ago. This kid was not as blown away by all the things black people had invented, but he did gather information and pictures for a school project, as the older grandson. He spent an 11/2 hrs in just those 2 rooms. This middle kid was all about the slave era all the way up to the 60's. The original KKK clothes really got to both of us, so hard to look at. Wish there had been a warning! But it's TRUE history. I'll bring my youngest in a couple of years. I think every 6th grader in La. Should be able to see this wonder !
