Yorkville Massage Therapy

I had a great massage by Rachel! She is very attentive, calming, and strong. I will be back again for more massages!

Not the best experience.. sadly. I came in expecting a lot since location is in Yorkville. Front desk greeting was kind, space is clean, not difficult to find the clinic however if you are pregnant, beware.. there’s three flights of stairs you’ll have to climb. I took off three stars because the massage itself did not really do anything for me or my husband - my husband has sciatica which he told his masseuse to target with more pressure but unfortunately the message was not understood. I asked to target lower back as I’m pregnant but the masseuse didn’t seem to follow. Beds are not in the best condition, neither are the pillows, there is no warm/heated blanket like the other places I have visited. Other reasons I took stars off: no towel service when getting into/out of clothes, no option to dim the brightness of the room/no blackout curtains for the x-large windows, poor communication from both masseuses during the massage (ie: “more or less pressure?”,”Am I targeting the right spots?”,”how do you feel?” .. etc). Finally, they don’t have the option for direct billing for insurance. Really sad to have had a 2/5 experience.

Horrific experience - I don’t recommend it and would never go back again.
Took a 90 minute massage that left me with a heavy pain in my back and massive headache.
The therapist covered me with a bed sheet and focused on one single point for the entire 90 minutes. He made me feel nauseous, I had to stop him multiple times.
This is NOT a relaxing studio, you can hear people walking and talking as the walls are thin and the room is poorly maintained.

I had a relaxing massage here with Rain and I loved it! They use oils during the massage, so that was a first for me. The downside is that the walls are thin, so I was able to hear sounds outside (talking, people walking, etc). They also don't accept AMEX. The location is super convenient since it's next to Bay station!

This location has been my only massage location since 2016. My current massage therapist Tom is amazing! What that means in massage world to me is a. The therapist knows human muscleoskeletal anatomy as well as trigger points and where the two tie into functional anatomy. When I complain about a painful area he knows exactly what are the possible attached muscles and ligaments that he needs to work on and release and stretch manually to provide relief. Often time therapist just massage an area without any deeper knowledge! I will continue visiting YMT and highly recommend.

Very small quaint area, I wouldn’t say it’s the most relaxing but I have had one of the most effective massages of my life here. I came in with lower back pain, and they were extremely accommodating to both a massage and a cupping add on. While the massage and the atmosphere were not top quality spa services, I left with soreness that dissipated in a few hours and a completely normal feeling back, all my pain was dissolved away! Only downside is they don’t have direct billing for insurance. Overall for the price and effectiveness it’s worth it:)

Tom is the most amazing RMT out there. He’s fixed my back over the past year and has incredible bed side manner. He makes clients feel comfortable by using the most professional and best techniques. Hands down the best massage in the city with unbeatable pricing and great scheduling flexibility.
