The Standard at State College

Staff is great building is top-notch a wonderful experience and the leasing office crew is always willing to help. Carmine was very professional with his ways and he was always willing to go the extra mile with us.

Living at The Standard at Penn State was an amazing experience, and a lot of that was thanks to Carmine. From the very beginning, he went above and beyond to make sure residents felt welcomed and taken care of. Whether it was organizing fun events like cookouts or trivia nights or simply being available to answer questions, Carmine always made everyone feel at home. One time, when my roommates and I had an issue with our apartment, Carmine personally ensured it was resolved quickly, going out of his way to check in and make sure we were satisfied. He was the kind of person who remembered your name and genuinely cared about how you were doing. His energy and enthusiasm created a sense of community that set The Standard apart from other housing options. I still remember the time he helped us set up for a group study session in one of the lounge areas, even offering snacks to keep us going. Carmine’s kindness and dedication made the living experience much more than just a place to stay—it felt like a home. He truly made The Standard a standout part of my Penn State journey, and I’m grateful for everything he did to make it special.

The Standard State College is an excellent place to live! The maintenance team does an outstanding job keeping everything in top condition, and the staff is incredibly friendly and attentive. The elevators, floors, and all common areas are consistently spotless which really shows their commitment to cleanliness and comfort. I highly recommend living here!

Horribly managed. Move in was a shit show and after my first semester I would say the shit show continues with them being unresponsive to emails and just overall unimpressive and unresponsive. I just received a call from them. The representative Tamara told me she was calling to let me know there was a balance on my portal. They never respond to my emails regarding move in time change but they will call you if they want your money!!!
Tamara told me of a balance on my portal but when I asked what happened if I didn’t pay it…she said it would continue as a balance on my account. It wasn’t until I asked if there would be late fees that she told me yes they would charge late fees. I find it interesting they call to notify of a balance but you have to pull information out of them. When I asked for her name…Tamara hung up on me.
Definitely shady business practices and unprofessional employees. Apartment is low quality….no vanity in bathroom so you must bring storage and living area/kitchen is too small for all the people to sit down and eat at the same time all for $1700 a month. One would think you weren’t in central PA!! Also shady practices of pressuring people to resign lease within less than a month of living there.

Worst place to live in State College, easily a scam. We have had broken furniture, packages stolen, stains on the walls from rain leakage, and insane mold growth on the windows that the landlord refuses to take seriously. Both my roommate and I have allergies to this but cannot get a response. Our refrigerator door has also been broken for 4 months and they told us they “ordered a new one” but refuse to give an update every time we ask. And it’s ridiculously expensive even though the entire building is basically made out of toothpicks.
