We love this place. Great atmosphere, staff are fabulous, food is excellent (chips are superb) and we love the open air area at the back where you can run the dogs. Prices are also very reasonable and there is a great range of beers. We are looking forward to return for the Sunday markets. This place is definitely worth a stop.

Amazing staff and service, proprietor is a kind person who is happy to accommodate your requirements.

Food is good pub food and the beers they have on tap are excellent. Definitely recommend the stout.

Fireplaces are warm and it's extremely cozy in winter.

Stopped in for a quick ale, friendly staff and some good local craft beers on tap. Nice warm fireplaces to deal with that winter chill. Still some renovations going on but going to be a great country pub when full finished. Will be back to try some lunch.

We were travelling through on motorbike and we found this little gem. We arrived after a long ride and had an arrival beer in front of an open fire before we said we had a room booked. We were shown the lock up garage to park the bikes and were given a tour of the venue and shown our room. When we came down for dinner all the tables in the bar were occupied or reserved so we grabbed a drink at the bar and were quickly told by the manager Benny that our table was in the window corner, just one of the small welcoming touches the Royal provided. We were also lucky enough to catch the Makers Market hosted in the beer garden which had a great range of locally crafted goods. I would very enthusiastically recommend this hotel to anyone (food also amazing!)
