Hotel Bonaventure Montréal

Hotel next to train station and room was high above overlooking the trains coming in and heading out...spectacular views! Room also very modern and has nice decor. Didn't get a chance to try out the rooftop pool due to rain or other times crowded with guests. Location was very good and convenient. Staff was helpful and courteous. Would love to stay here again upon our next visit to Montreal.

Booked this hotel because of the location, price, and rating. We've only been here one day and if we could get a refund and book elsewhere I would, however, we have a non-refundable rate.

I do not recommend this hotel for the following reasons:

1) Customer service at check-in was the worst I have ever received. The gentleman who checked us in, Vincent, was incredibly rude and gave us a lot of attitude when there was a simple miscommunication with our booking. When I spoke to management about this I was told that this person had 'saved the day' by fixing the computer system, as if to justify the horrible attitude and customer service we were provided. The manager did apologize for the bad service but that was all.

2) We also booked and paid for a 'Standard 2 Queen Room' for myself and two guests. The beds were similar in size to double beds and when questioned about this we were told these were 'European' queen beds. No where on the website did it mention European queen beds and in fact beds were differentiated by double, queen, King, and sofa on booking.

Location is very good but if you value customer service do not stay at this hotel.

Our room was spacious and quiet. The hotel is across the street from the railway station, which was convenient for us. During a heavy storm that resulted in many guests choosing to eat-in at dinner time, the restaurant simply couldn't cope and waiting times were far longer than staff were suggesting. This was a shame because our previous experience of the food and service in the restaurant was very positive. We also encountered delays checking in and out. Aside from these capacity issues, our stay was trouble-free. We would consider staying again if visiting Montreal.

Very nice four star hotel. The lobby is modern and well furnished. The hotel is located on the floors 9-11 of the Bonaventure place building and you need to take an elevator to floor 10 to access the hotel. The hotel is well situated, just across the street from the train station.

Once at the hotel, there at beautiful gardens with water features and ducks right in downtown Montreal. A large heated swimming pool is also located on the roof top. Our room looked out over the garden and provided a nice view.

The rooms themselves are well furnished and luxurious. The bed was very comfortable and the bathroom was clean and marble-finished. As well, our room by chance was available to us well before check in time which was very appreciated.

They did not seem to have as many desk clerks as required at the peak times (late afternoon) and one time I called the front desk there was no one to take my call.

Overall, a very good stay. Thank you!

Amazing Hotel in a very good location to old town. Clean, neat and beautiful rooms. We also had a pretty nice view of Montreal's inner city.
We especially loved the friendly & quick service and the amenities, such as the outdoor (rooftop) Garden and Pool area with Jacuzzi & Sauna.

Where should I start?
Me and my girlfriend went there for our anniversary, in late October. Unfortunately for us. We where so excited, Montreal is so romantic and my girlfriend had never been there. She was disappointed and felt let down with the hotel considering how expensive it is.

Firstly she sent an email before the trip asking if their paid breakfast had add on options for our dietary restrictions, and received zero response.

Secondly the person at the front desk was very rude upon check-in. Thirdly and most importantly, the pool was a HUGE letdown.
The water was full of dead skin and it was cold. I’m a good judge of temperature, it couldn’t have been ten degrees Celsius. The advertisement photo of the pool showed TONS of stream coming off the water. There wasn’t any of that. It was cold. The hot tub was nice but was perpetually crowded because the pool was freezing. No one was in the pool. The sauna was small. Two small benches inside. Two woman hogged the thing all night both nights we where there.
The fourth and final thing was the general lack of care about things like parking and the service. It was our anniversary and they offered us nothing, a lot of places do something if you mention it’s a special occasion. They didn’t do anything at all, nothing. I would tell people to never come to this hotel unless there’s no other options. You will be dissatisfied and disappointed. They advertise this a some sort of spa getaway. It’s nothing like that. All of these great reviews must be fake or paid. We will never be coming back. Take your hard earned money elsewhere.

Wonderful room, well redone recently. Bathroom and shower were good as was the bed. But oh my the pool and hot tub were just amazing. I also highly recommend their executive lounge and breakfast brunch option. Delicious and the outdoor seating area a real treat too.
