Wicked Jane

This is my favorite fine dining restaurant in Manhattan. The food is amazing, as is the wine and service. They make you feel like family.

Best kept secret in nyc! Highly recommend this cute little restaurant! We’ve been here 3x and enjoyed every single experience. Impeccable service, romantic ambiance, delicious food and reasonably priced. We’ve been to over 45 Michelin star restaurants worldwide and still keep coming back to Wicked Jane!

Excellent tasting menu at this hidden gem of a restaurant in Greenwich Village with excellent wine pairings

Service, atmosphere and the price are very much like a Michelin star restaurant, but it’s not. And the food looks great, but taste is more plane comparing to others real Michelin restaurants.

Great genuine hospitality with awesome food with value. The most unique experience was that every staff was so genuine, elevating the experience. Hospitality in NYC can be mechanical (understandably) but this place was exactly the opposite. The somm Alvaro was the highlight of the experience. After noticing that I am studying for WSET (wine certification), he was kind enough to go above and beyond to share various different wines outside of the course and tailored the explanation in the context of the wine exam. There are many nice food in nyc, but the level of care you find at Wicked Jane is rare. The restaurant is a hidden gem with real substance/hospitality amidst the many restaurants in the city that relies on gimmick and hype.

We had a mostly fish based tasting menu, loved the use of some interesting ingredient combos (eg jicama and fluke). It was a surprisingly quiet night so I feel like we had some excellent service.

When we walked by Wicked Jane, the Michelin award caught our eye. We decided to come back for dinner…and noticed there was hardly anyone in the restaurant…we were confused, as there were dozens of people filling the seats in the establishments next door…but still, we took a chance, and are so incredibly glad we did.

There are no words to describe how stunning the service and food are at Wicked Jane. Oftentimes, it is the service that keeps you back to a restaurant. Other times, it is the food. So rare these days is it to find a locale that excels at both. Wicked Jane did this in spades.

Ok, lots of generalities…but now, for the specifics. The homemade sourdough and ricotta cheese was to die for. The duck was, hands down, the best and most skillfully cooked duck I have had anywhere in the world - and I’ve eaten duck in three continents from five star chefs in each of them. The filet mignon was creamy, buttery, and as perfect of a filet mignon as you could hope for. And the service was sublime. Thank you, Oscar and Al. Not once did we have to pour our own wine, not once did we have to ask for anything. Most of all, we were treated not as guests, but as family. As cliché as that may be, it is the absolute truth.

Lastly, concerning the soundtrack of Wicked Jane…while it may not be everyone’s cup of tea…for this vinyl-collecting and classic rock enthusiast, it made me and my love feel completely at ease and at home.
