Long story short, I’ve been a customer with chase for over a decade. First checking account for college and savings. The company has gone downhill the past 5 years. Random fees, charging for pausing a check fee, crazy over draft fees, withholding part of your deposited check for no reason and if you have a problem with a merchant the claims department will take your money with zero regard to you the customer. Don’t bank with this institution, it’s not worth the headache. I have lost more money banking with them than I’ve retained/ made. Little to no interest on accounts either . When you call customer service, no one is polite (I don’t even think they are American), they hang up on you and do nothing to help with your problem but are more than happy to charge a fee for doing their job and take even more of your money. This company is punishing their loyal customers and honestly you can get more and better elsewhere.

I have 2 accts w/Chase, and direct deposit of soc. security. They snuck in $25 monthly service charge, to call them and get through to customer service is horrible! Beware! Bubbebeware!

Being that the only location is on the UVA corner makes it almost impossible to get to physically. Making deposits is incredibly difficult as well and then they will place the deposits on unnecessary holds. Bank elsewhere.

Does not answer phone or return phone calls. In order to get in contact with the branch you have to physically drive there.

I received a promotional offer to open up a new checking and savings account at Chase Bank. Timothy Marsh is very upbeat and personable. He called me for a followup, made sure I was remembering the requirements for the promo offers, and that I received my debit card. High 5 kudos to Tim. Let's give Tim a sweet raise.

Essentially Chase has stolen our money. We deposited an earnest money check into our checking account. They flagged it fraud. Yet they ran the check. This closed our account to give us no access to our acct and money. All associated acts closed as well. This is our primary bill pay acct. We have attempted every thing chase asked of us and the large brokerage corporation the check came from were diligent in providing the necessary identification. Chase literally asked us to bring an employee down to the branch to verify the check could be written. They asked for their CEO!!! The check was cashed and held and we have no access to pay our bills that have come due. They not only stopped the check but also all the money in our account! They have asked the bank of Virginia to pull the money back but this is impossible if they run the check. Bank of Virginia and the brokerage firm have washed their hands of it and explained that it is between us and our bank Chase. Which does not feel good as they have taken our money and provided no realistic way to resolve the issue. We have accrued late fees and damage to our credit as a result of banking with Chase. We still have no access to about 7k of our own money. I would tell anyone listening to avoid Chase bank.
