I tried the Bobalicious pastry and it was delicious. The amount of detail that went into the pastry was impressive. It's cute and even the cup is edible. I would come back to try other pastries and desserts.
Got the tiramisu. It looks very nice, but the taste is lacking. The description mentions both coffee and alcohol but I couldn’t really taste either in the tiramisu.
I didn’t get the cheesecake but once again, it looked super nice. (I hope it isn’t like the tiramisu and actually tastes as good as it looks).

I love this bakery as their cakes are delicious but not too sweet. I ordered the strawberry shortcake in the "snowberries" style and our group loved it. The strawberries were fresh, the cake was soft and the cream had just the right amount of sweetness.
Service is great and straightforward. On another occasion, we had to cancel our cake for an event because of COVID-19 and they were understanding and gave us a full refund.

Small classic asian bakery with THE BEST banh mi in the east end. Their baguette is freshly baked and so crispy. We’ve been coming here for years and it’s hard to find a place that beats it for cheap and easy eats. I always order their banh mi before road trips and of course just a fast and furious lunch.
I’ve been wanting to try this place for a while and finally got to get some gelato after dinner. I opted for one of their seasonal gelatos, the pumpkin caramel pie. It was delicious! It was between that flavour and the ricotta rosemary lemon. I did try both flavours before purchasing. Both were good, but I didn’t really taste a lot of lemon in that one flavour. I’m definitely going to return to try the other flavours.
I first heard about DIVG, because their gelatos were served at a Google event. I got to try a variety of flavours and the cheeseboard flavour blew me away. So creative and delicious!!! It’s a must try. I kept dreaming about it, so I had to go to the store and pick up a pint for a night in. While at the store, I got a double scope in a waffle cone (smoked pecan and maple butter tart, and pistachio yogurt baklava). As a frozen desserts connoisseur, I really appreciate the layering and complexity of flavour components. The service was also awesome. I saw they have a gelato tasting so I’ll have to check it out soon.
I love their gelato! Plenty of vegan options and a selection of both classic and creative flavours. Recently had the white peach soft serve - perfectly balanced, flavourful and not sickly sweet! I do love the ambiance as well and sometimes sit there while I enjoy my gelato. A must to visit for all gelato and ice cream lovers.
Best Viet subs in the city. House made ingredients on bread that's got a nice bit of crunch! Atmosphere score isn't a criticism, it's a takeout place and a rare city bargain at 5bucks.

Great Pies. Some of the best Butter 🧈 Tarts and pies 🥧 I’ve had. Grabbed these at the Balls Falls Fall Festival and will definitely be back for more. Excited that they are in Toronto too.
Wowowowow! Very unique cakes that are also delicious. If you want to impress a crush or boss, this is the spot to buy a cake. The detail in the desserts are amazing, like a cheesecake that is in the shape of a block of cheese. Just really cute cakes.
They made me the most beautiful two year flower buttercream cake and it was the best cake I have ever tasted in my life!!!! The details the creativity and love put into it made me cry. best Asian bakery ! they have stood the test of time for a reason. I have been going there for more than 10 years. It's always fresh, delicious and unbelievably cheap.
Huge disappointment! Their award-winning chessboard gelato was advertised as containing brie and pear as the first and second ingredients but I couldnt taste the brie's earthy notes or pear flavor at all even after eating the whole thing. There are no brie chunks either. It tasted more like ice cream than gelato. Finally, the price on the website was $11.75, yet in the store he sold me for $12.25 (he said there are no taxes).

Bought 6 of their priceless little desserts for my daughters birthday. She absolutely loved them! Not only were they adorable, but deeeeelicious! I would highly recommend!!
Cookies here are like magic. They are soft fluffy cakey inside with crispy outside... absolutely delightful. My kids and I love to stop in here for a treat and pick up cookies, and are working out way through the most amazing and creative cakes. The prices are comparable to getting a slice at a a coffee house or even the grocery baker, the quality however is top of the line. Do yourself a favor and visit Daan Go Cake lab to experience one of their amazing creations. We have tried most of the cakes and cookies and have loved every one of them!!!!
The butter tarts did not disappoint, OMG. The pastry is a classic, throw-back to Nana's back in the day. Great - cannot be duplicated at home! Excellent service in Cabbagetown at the Arts Festival yesterday. The show is still on today, worth the trip from the west end for this taste of heaven. Shout out to the staff, friendly and charming!
Sweet Serendipity Bake Shop is AMAZING! I cannot recommend them enough. The cake is the most delicious! We tried the cupcakes which were all so good and then they made our wedding cake which was so delicious and absolutely stunning. Will keep ordering from here they are so great!

This Chinese bakery is located downstairs near the Atrium food court (in the mall across the road from the Eaton center).
They have all the main types of buns and some dim sum too. The pineapple read bean bun I got was ok, not the most fresh. The dim sum looked really old like it was sitting there all day.

Unique variety of flavours. They make the icecream themselves with very interesting flavours. It can get busy as it's one of the few icecream places opened late
I was able to place an order the day before. I got the black sesame cake. It was a hit, "not too sweet" as my family would say. The ultimate compliment from an Asian family! Pick up was easy. I would definitely return and try their other cakes. Perhaps I'll get their cake cups so sample the different flavours. Support your local bakery and check this place out! It's really fantastic!

I dropped by to pick up their new PanDaan cake. It’s so cute and flavorful! The macaron on top was sooo good! The best macaron I’ve ever tasted. You can really taste the flavor. It’s moist and crunchy! No wonder this is popular for its macarons.

I ordered a red velvet cake for my book launch and I’m SO happy with how it turned out. Absolutely delicious cake and incredible quality of design. Thank you so much for making my day special! I highly recommend this bakery to all my friends and family and anyone in the city!
The bread has a hard texture and hard to chew and taste like chemical or paint. Not tipical asian bread, Probably old bread still on the distal
Ordered a birthday cake online and it did not disappoint! The cake is called "Chantlli"- the cream is so light yet has this fresh, rosy taste. It's subtly sweet, exactly the kind of dessert I've been searching for! They've got a great selection of sliced cakes and bread too. My only suggestion would be a re-do of the entrance for easier navigation, but other than that, no complaints here!

I was looking for a birthday cake for my 2 year old and ordered from velvet lane. I went to visit the shop and the staff there was very helpful in answering my questions and showing me the difference sizes. In the end I ordered the confetti signature cake with funfetti flavour and the cake was awesome! Beautiful as pictured and the taste was not too sweet and the cream was great! My go to place now for my daughter's next birthday party! Thanks so much!
I bought a peach pie today from the East York farmer's market this morning. After supper, I sat down with a cup of coffee and cut into the pie. The top crust was extremely thick, the filling was only about 3/8" thick and the bottom crust was thicker than the top crust. I was looking forward to a peach pie so I took a bite and did not swallow the piece of pie. The filling had no taste. Must be canned filling. The crust was not flaky and tasted stale. I have eaten my share of pies in my 70 years and this one ranks in the top 3. I called the store and the answering machine came on and said the memory was full. I wonder if other buyers had the same issues as I did. Scanning the pie PiCs on this site shows a completely different pie than the one I bought. I will be taking this up with the store once I am back in town. KARL from east york
I came in wanting to buy the pistachio cake as it looked great when seen online, but unfortunately in person, all the mousse cakes did not look as appetizing so I opted for the coconut ube cake instead. In my opinion, the buttercream was a bit too much on the sweeter side (and did not taste the ube) and the cake itself was not light/airy like chiffon, but rather dense and gooey. Overall, I’ve had better cakes within this price range ($52) and probably won’t be going back for the cakes, however the service was great and the ambiance in the cafe was very nice!
I highly recommend Dulcinella. Heaven in every bite of their Venezuelan-style Tres Leches Cake. Their Dulce de Leche Cheesecake is also a must-try. As someone from the Philippines which was also a colony of Spain for more than 3 centuries, Dulcinella reminds me of the food culture we have back home which we share with Latin American countries such as flan and empanada. You gotta try Dulcinella and you won't regret it! The seller is also accommodating and approachable. Here are the photos I took from my visit earlier:

I ordered a banh mi and it looked beautiful! It looked like the perfect sandwich, but unfortunately it tasted just ok. You can tell the bread was freshly baked which was the highlight. But I felt like it was lacking flavour/seasoning. Sadly it didn't hit my banh mi craving :(

Literally the best cakes I’ve ever had. Perfectly moist and flavourful cake with amazing icing. Not too buttery or fatty, just right. A more traditional style of baking which I really appreciate. Just like my grandmother used to make. DELICIOUS!

I’m so so thankful with all the staff of the Cafeteria!!! Last week it was my mom’s birthday and we were looking for a place to buy a cake and sing to her “Happy Birthday”. We bought the cake, candles and even they borrowed to us the lighter to light up the candles!!! The staff working that day was so friendly and kind.

I ordered a lemon raspberry cake with a custom design I had saved from Pinterest and I was not disappointed! Flavours were great, the cake was moist and everyone enjoyed it. The team was great to answer my initial questions and the cake was well packaged for me to transport.
Came here for the first time and tried the Tiramisu gelato. It was the perfect balance between sweet and salty. The taste was authentic and exactly like tiramisu. It was delicious! The service and ambiance was also good. Looking forward to coming back and trying other flavours
Best bakery ever! Please go support this family biz. Ive been going for 100 years since forever. Banh Mi for $5 and under (used to be $3 but inflation etc). I get the Saigon Special $5, Veg $4.50, chicken $5. And extra mayo $0.75. Extra spicy on all. Also love their curry beef hand held patty’s. Only ones in the city!!!! Show them some love. Cash only. Or etransfer. Get there early as they tend to sell out.
I recently ordered a cake from velvet lane cakes for my girlfriends birthday and I am beyond happy with the experience. The cake not only looked beautiful and exactly as pictured on their website but also was perfectly moist and delicious. I also appreciate how the staff was able to accommodate a date change because of a mistake on my part while ordering and also made the entire process of picking up the cake smooth. Definitely recommend their cakes for all occasions.
Super friendly staff! Blueberry cheesecake had great texture and not too sweet. First time trying alfajores and what a treat - would recommend. Initially, they were all out of empanadas but the staff kindly offered to make some fresh ones for us and WOW the filling had so much flavour. Our new favourite spot in the east end 😄
Velvet Lane Cakes exceeded my and my twin brothers expectations. We wanted a real showpiece for our champagne birthday, and Velvet Lane absolutely delivered and exceeded our expectations. Not only did the cake and cupcakes look positively beautiful, people couldn’t stop raving about the taste. The custom cake we ordered was the topic of every conversation and it made our day so bright and special. I will certainly be a returning customer for many years to come, and will spread the word (a huge number of my party guests already asked me for the Velvet Lane business information for weddings and upcoming events). I tried the sour cherry and chocolate (very tart), my friend tried the mango coocnut and lime leaf (very yummy) and we're both lactose. This worked out perfectly!

Velvet Lane did our wedding cake and were great to work with! Communicating pre-wedding was easy via email, where we were able to discuss cake specs and design, and the VL team was very responsive to questions and ideas. Pricing was reasonable and they offered options in various ranges. Delivery was seamless the day of. The cake itself was beautiful - even better than the design ideas I sent - and delicious. I will definitely be a return customer for future birthdays and events!
Dessert Lady is a Swiss Army Knife that excels in many different cuisines and styles. When you take a bite – whether a savoury pasta dish, a hearty salad or an addictive slice of mouse cake – you feel the thought and care put into the food they serve.

A voluminous amount of fresh greens, tomatoes, and avocado, accompanied by a tender steak. As well, you can't go wrong with their cakes. Not overly sweet, but just right.

I've ordered from Velvet Cakes twice now, once for Valentine's and another for a friend's 30th birthday. Both times the service they provided was amazing! They were so accommodating with the change in delivery dates and the cake was simply delicious. It turned out exactly like how I'd expected and my guests loved it.

Velvet Lane Cakes exceeded my expectations. Their customer service was both responsive and friendly. Most importantly, I loved my baby shower cake so much! Just adorable! Attention to detail was 10/10. I did a cake tasting in advance of 4 different cake and filling flavours and went with a lemon cake and raspberry filling combination - highly recommend! I will definitely be ordering a cake for my next special occasion from Velvet Lane.
Bonnie made my daughters first birthday smash cake and 24 cupcakes. She did a fantastic job. She was so kind and easy to communicate with. All of it was made beautifully and everything was delicious. The final product was better than I could have imagined.
I had the breakfast deal. One (curried) veggie bun, cinnamon roll and a milk tea for 6.25 (including taxes) on a Sunday morning. The milk tea was great, just the way I like it. I am sure this is not for everybody but please don't expect this to be that French bakery where you had to pay 10 bucks for an average croissant and instagrammability!
Heard about this cute little bakery from a friend and let me tell you from the first bite into one of the cupcakes I was in heaven….. a melt in your mouth experience so moist, the icing is so yummy and not too sweet. Have tried the squares and pies as well and her pie crust is like my grandmothers so perfect and flaky. We got their 6” Black Sesame Cake. This Cake was SUPER pretty, the Daisies Design totally elevated the look of this Cake, it had Sponge Cake layers that were a bit on the dry side, but the Black Sesame Cream was RICH, had an amazing Black Sesame flavour, and silky smooth! Overall, still a delicious Black Sesame Cake that we enjoyed a lot!
Ordered via phone. Called twice, and both times the staff were pleasant. They were patient with all my questions and took time to inform me of their product. Bought the tres leches and it was delicious. Although a little too sweet for me, it was addictive and a crowd-pleaser. I made sure to take a picture because I couldn’t seem to find any on Google last time I checked. I got the small tray, and it serves around 6-8 people. It tastes like a leche flan with the texture of a tiramisu. A little pricey (about $60), but I thought it was still worth it. If you need to bring dessert to a potluck or party, I would recommend their tres leches.

Cash only. Almost all their bakery items are individually wrapped. The steam BBQ pork bun was pretty dry. Would have been nice to eat a hot banh mi (Viet sandwich) but they say they don't toast their banh mi because the baguettes are made fresh. If you like the bread on the crunchy side, you'll like their baguette. The "meatball and sausage" sandwich came with Vietnamese meatball, Vietnamese pork sausage, pickled carrots, mayo and cilantro. Not sure if the other sandwiches come with cucumbers and paté. Not bad for cheap snacks and a light meal
Been here a few times for lunch and getting my birthday cakes. Dessert lady never disappoints! A bit pricey but you can taste the quality. In addition, they’re accommodating with allergies (can’t guarantee cross contamination of course).

Service was great! Ordered the cake online and no issues on picking up. Everything processed properly and efficiently! They also made the recommendations on how to store until being consumed, which is usually a given but always a nice touch!

The cupcakes are absolutely delish! Perfect balance of chocolaty goodness and sweetness. The icing was also extremely good… just nice in sweetness. Doesn’t give you a sugar headache. Communication with Pina was so prompt and fuss free. I am definitely getting more cakes from this bake shop for my other celebrations! I highly recommend this shop to others! (Note: I added the embellishments to suit our party theme, cupcakes came with yellow/blue sprinkles)
Picked up 3 buns for $6 around noon & they were fresh and still warm.
Ordered the tres leches for a birthday party and it was absolutely delicious. It had the right level of moist for ppl with sweet tooth and not too much of a sweet tooth. Everyone loved it and was sure to plug the name. Had delivery issues initially but they were prompt in figuring an alternative. Will be ordering again!

Ordered from this place for a birthday and cake was great. Ordered a 2 tier cake that was baked perfectly with the perfect amount of sweetness and also the 2 orders of mini cupcakes made me wish I had ordered more. 5/5
I’m still upset since they gave me a 20% coupon after I dumped half of the cake I purchased. I kept the cake in the fridge overnight and the next morning, it tasted sour and become to mold. As a big brand, please know how to make your customer satisfied with your services, Shu Cake!!!
We absolutely loved their black sesame cake! The cake was super fluffy and it wasn’t too sweet! My family really enjoyed it :)
Additionally, while some say the location is quite hidden, we didn’t have trouble finding the store at all! We followed google maps and was quickly able to locate the store because of their large white sign.

The cake is undersized by an inch. The whipped cream tastes great but is not firm at all. The birthday also came without any cutlery. It so happens that it is poorly balanced inside and fell over (see picture). Overall good cake but overpriced.
Bought a strawberry and rhubarb pie at the east York civic center on Tuesday at farmers market. It was the worst tasting pie I ever had. It’s has no flavor, dry filling and pastry has know flavor and is not flaky at all. 12 dollars for nothing. Also heard another customer say about the cinnamon buns were not cooked in the middle raw and cold inside. Will not go there again.
This small Venezuelan bakery has big verve and vibrancy. My wife and I dropped in one day, and were welcomed by the kindest people. While I think Dulcinella is known most for its custom cakes, they have a bunch of sweet and savoury treats on hand.
- Sweets: Oooh these definitely pleased my sweet tooth. The tres leches mini cake was heavily and heavenly milky. The vegan chocolate cupcake was super moist with a really dense chocolate icing. The shortbread cookies were delicate and paired just perfectly when dipped in Dulcinella's OUTSTANDING homemade dulche de leche. And the chocolate loaf we brought home was again really moist with a rich balance of dark and white chocolate.
- Savoury: Tequenos for the win! They were properly fried, not overly oily, and stuffed with cheeeeeeeeeese. The beef empanada we brought home was just as stuffed as well.
Though Dulcinella does have 2 bar sears and a couple of sidewalk tables, think it's mainly a grab-and-go place. That said, it's really near the beaches, so make sure to stop by for a treat to enjoy by the water (or anywhere really!)

We decided to drop in on a whim after a short local stay and we very happy with the deserts and empanadas. The caramel flan and tres leches cake were so delicious. My wife was ecstatic to find gluten free options for her. The owner was so welcoming and we chatted for some time, nice to see such great small family business. Will return if we ever find ourselves in the area again.
I've loved this place for years, the pork buns are on point and at a lovely price (as is everything here). Havent been around the downtown area recently due to COVID but i am super glad theyre still open! Had 6 pork siu mai for $7.50 and they were fresh and excellent for the price. Staff is very kind as well and the building the store is located in is nice and quiet compared to the constant racket outside and over at Eatons.

Their pies are very, very good, with a flaky crust and tasty fillings. For a few years now, our (now) teenager son has been requesting a pie rather than a cake for his birthday. This year, the owner who delivered the cake even threw in a half dozen butter tarts.
I planned a baby shower in December, three days before the party our cake decorator got Covid and cancelled our order. Nom Nom Nom jumped in to help me. The amazingly friendly owner took pity on me and my situation and made us 2 dozen AMAZING mini cupcakes. Everything was perfect. Exactly what I asked for. They were a huge hit. I couldn't be more thankful for small businesses that go the extra mile. Thank you for saving us and making sure the mom to be had sweets at her party.

Manzou Bakery is one of the cutest bakeries around! Their cakes and cake cups are so cute and very flavourful, with just enough sweetness that doesn't overpower the palate. I strongly recommend their black sesame, as the flavour is very strong and pronounced, unlike other patisseries and bakeries. Definitely a hidden gem!
I think this is one of the best places for a Banh Mi sandwich. The style is different from other shops around town as they go for longer and thinner bread which doesn't need more filling.
Tung Hing goes for a longer (9.5") bread and slimmer bread that simulates a mini-french baguette. The bite and texture is delicious along with the ratio of filling to bread is great! Other Banh Mi places in Toronto may have a similar price but you get a fat and shorter bread that makes it seem like more there's more filling but hard to get a good bite ratio of the sandwich and the texture and ratio is not the same. The Banh Mi from Tung Hing has the perfect bite and the fresh baked bread is crispy makes it one of the best places for Banh Mi. It's only $4 and it's similar to the youtube videos of Banh Mi sandwiches from Saigon. I've dine in restaurants that sell them for $8 for the same amount of filling(those restaurant don't last long as people realize other places are cheaper and better). They don't stuff it with filling like Western style sandwiches from deli stores for $12+ (subway doesn't count as that's just like a fast food version) nor does it needs to have more filling if you want more than you're too used western style or just like filling.
Last thought if you want to eat it the next day keep it in the fridge. Reheat it in the toaster oven for a few mins (I put mine in until toasted medium) and you will get a flaky crispy bread thats fab-ul-ous with the pate. Delicious.

Bought tuna bun and garlic cheese bun from this store yesterday, and they are awful... We have purchased their bread at Agincourt before and it's the same quality. Can you find any tuna in the first picture? Also, the garlic cheese bun has nothing inside and only a small piece sticking to the surface. Not only that it has no filling, it tastes very plain.

My family & I love Manzou Bakery! Found out about them back in March & have been ordering their cakes for every birthday in the family. Soft, light & not too sweet (which for my family is a GREAT thing) Thank you for making such delicious cakes & being apart of our family celebrations. Keep up the amazing work!! I bought several of the tarts and pies from Row Farms for friends during Christmas, in the past I've loved the tarts and pies and have always bought. Bought during Christmas 2020 when I saw mould on the apple crumble tarts I was so scared what my friends experience had been. I only saw this because my husband and daughter wanted to share and I had to cut it in half with a knife, otherwise we usually just bite into it. So I wasted about $40 on Pie's and tarts not known if they were all in that state or what. I was disappointed and didn't go back to Row Farms since.
My aunt had not eaten her favortite dessert, raisin pie, in almost 40 years. Even though I live in Chicago, I made it my mission to get a raisin pie for her birthday. After finding them at Sweet Seduction Bakery, Allen and everyone there went above and beyond to provide the highest level of service I've ever received from ANY bakery, restaurant or retail store to get them delivered to her on her birthday complete with a card. And, the pie....my aunt absolutely loved it and it was devoured in less than a day, which is why I bought 2! I cannot thank this bakery enough and can't wait to go there in person to try their other sweet and savory options. #supportlocal
My spouse and I came for a small cake and the cashier straight up told us they don't have ready to go cake and we have to order online. Then we were about to go to our way to another bakery. Suddenly a guy approached us from inside the store and told us they can make a cake within 15 minutes. We chose The Mousse and until at the cashier we were billed $60 for a 7 inches Mousse cake. It's way overpriced compared with competitors with same quality. To be fair, their cake texture and taste quite to our liking. It looks great too! I'm seeing the same feedback from other customers that their price is too expensive. In this pandemic times, they better listen to their customers.
Love breakfast special, two buns and tea or coffee for just $4.50! Buns were delicious and cheap! Salty vegetable bun and sausage and cheese bun were great.... Hong Kong style milk tea also tastes good. Microwave for customers is nice service as well. Will definitely come again :)

We loved them so much we had Sweet Seduction cater the desserts for our wedding last year (butter tarts, seduction bars, pumpkin squares, three large cakes and sausage rolls - and they did some gluten free too for my g-free family members) and they were just top notch, super professional and just lovely people to work with.
I had so many compliments on our desserts and dozens of guests asked where we got our goodies from and I was delighted to sing the praises of Sweet Seduction! I know many of our friends became obsessed with the Seduction Bars after the wedding too!
Keep up the great baking and if you love butter tarts and squares, make the trip out to the Beaches for them!

I had Bonnie design my semi naked cake and various cupcakes for my wedding. I showed her my dream cupcake tower and she was able to offer suggestions on how to perfect it. We went for a cake/cupcake tasting and I was able to customize the buttercream icing and cupcakes. I had the berrylicious and summerlove cupcakes. I also ordered the seasonal flavours- MANGO and PASSIONFRUIT!!! They were a huge hit at the wedding and the guests loved it!!! Bonnie is very easy to work with and she replies back promptly. Her prices were also very reasonable! Thank you Bonnie! We loved everything and we will order from you again!
Amazing cupcakes which taste as wonderful as they look! I ordered the mini-cupcakes with the berrylicious topping and it was a huge hit at my daughter's birthday party. The owner even created a special decoration with my daughter's name on it which made the day even more special.

The entrance was hidden, not very visible. Real cramped as you walk in, but not an issue if it isn't a lot of people that day. They have such unique buns, if you order 6 or more it's all tax free. Their patisserie were not overly sweet if that's your kinda thing, but beautiful in design for sure. Maybe the cash desk can be a bit more organized in terms of wayfinding. Lovely new store that's worth checking out!
Love the unique flavours this bakery offers. They make high quality bread - not the ones like you are biting into air. I also love their bubble tea. Some of my favourite items are Nutty Espresso, Matcha Lava, Charcoal Sausage. And the mini cakes they make look like art pieces. If you are in this neighbourhood, it's a must-try. The staff is extremely friendly and accommodating. They also accept WeChat and Alipay.
I've ordered numerious times from here and all I have to say is WOW. Amazing flavors, real buttercream and very friendly owner. You get real desserts that are fresh and made to what you want. The taste is amazing compared to these higher end dessert places. And she's very flexible with times after business hours for delivery and rates are priced very well! I'll continue to order from here after wanting more seeing her instagram page and the amazing work she does! Big thumbs up!
