This place is a hidden gem with absolutely lovely service. I stumbled upon it today and was blown away by how kind and polite the older couple serving me were, as well as how yummy looking and beautifully decorated all the cakes were! I ended up getting a DELICIOUS 8" chocolate raspberry cake for my partner's birthday at a very reasonable price. The owners went above and beyond for me at such short notice and even gave me a sample for a different item as I waited. Thank you so much for the incredible experience! I will definitely be back!
Beautiful and delicious gluten free cake from Gateau de Henry! We ate it so quickly! Will definitely order again. They also had gluten free cake by the slice when I stopped by and some regular cakes for purchase. They need a few days notice for custom cakes. Sandwiches and Korean Bulgogi and Bibimbap also available. (Note: cake photo modified to remove name on cake)
Love this shop and these gals. I forgot my strawberry pick-up this week and hope they forgive me lol! Amazing staff, adorable shop and excellent food and produce, with the cutest cafe addition of greaaat quality!
A delightful cafe to study/work, was not so busy after 2:30pm. Great ambiance and service. Appreciated the free wifi and tasty ham croissant - a great place to rest and enjoy a cup of tea!

I started popping in here as part of my main street errands. I used to assume the prices would be prohibitive, but I often found I could get high-quality local produce at a cheaper or equivalent price than at the big grocers in town. Also, they have a very good, incredibly cheap americano.
10/10 would recommend.

The cake 8 inch about $60 so it’s reasonable price. The cake is beautiful and presentation is good . The customer service is really good.
The cream on the cake was very nice and fresh the sponge part is light and moist. Also not too sweet. I think it might be gluten free there wasn’t much density. However the sponge cake has clumps of sugar some parts really sugary when I bit into it

I purchased a surprise bag online . The staff rudely refused to give me the bag until I first swiped that I had received it. I said I will swipe it when I receive it. They said no, you swipe that you picked it up before we give it to you. I said that's disrespectful. I said that I already paid for the food and she was treating me like a thief by assuming that I would steal the food that I already paid for. She said that's the way we do it. That's the policy of the store. By demanding that I confirm receipt before receiving the merchandise they implied and insinuated that I was dishonest and untrustworthy. I met an employee at the back of the store and told him that I wanted to speak to the manager to complain. The manager stormed out of the store shouting at me with a beet red face, totally out of control, almost losing it and shouted "You are rude. You made my worker cry". He was hostile, aggressive and intimidating and I did not feel safe in his presence. I thought he was going to physically assault me. Then he shouted "You are banned from this store! Don't ever come back here again!". He didn't ask me anything. He didn't want to know my side of the story. He didn't want to hear my feelings or my opinions about the way I was mistreated. He contradicted his employee. She told me that was the store policy to insist that we confirmed that we received the food before we received it. He told me that's what Too Good To Go told them to do. I paid for the food in advance and I shouldn't have to falsely declare that I received the food before it is given to me. It is insulting and disrespectful.
I picked up a cake for my son's 18th Birthday earlier this week.
He wanted to try Oreo cheesecake.
Besides it's looking amazing, it tasted so delicious!
I never write reviews or like cakes for that matter, but this cake deserved the recognition!
Now my younger son wants a red velvet cake for his upcoming birthday.
Customer service was great and pleasant.

There is a wonderful selection of fresh goods here. As well as frozen and packaged. Staff is friendly. Store is clean and well organized.
The Eden cafe is a little piece of heaven for me. The amazing warmth and care of the staff and welcoming atmosphere and the food all combine to make this THE go to for coffee, sandwiches and blessing in the DTES. I’ve been working in the neighborhood for many years and have seen cafes come and go but Eden tops them all and I hope they’re there for a long time. They’ve especially been kind since I was not able to walk there anymore.thank you so much! Love to all. Nurse Fran

This place is amazing! I tried two different cakes: sweet potato & red velvet and they were both delicious. Their cakes are slightly less sweet than the ones from other bakeries. Perfect for people who find desserts too sweet in general!
Sweetest couple ever. The cakes are fantastic. We tried the matcha chiffon, carrot cake, black forest and sweet potato cake (picture) and they were all fantastic. She even included some meringues in the box.
Amazing place for a breakfast and a conversation. I highly recommend the Chiken sandwich 🥪. So good:)
A hidden coffee shop for anyone who loves coffee. I had the decaf Spanish latte and fell in love with it. The subtle sweetness and creamy taste are just perfect for this Fall season. My coworker also recommends the Chai drink as it's one of the best around here. I would definitely recommend to drop by if you are in the neighborhood. Parking here can be difficult as they have street parking and paid around the corner. Also the area around this shop has improved but stay safe.

This place is really a hidden gem and it's my new discovery and newfound love. Although it's quite far away from where I live, I have already come here three days in a row. The place is small but has a great vibe. The music, green plants, and colorful walls make it come alive. Especially the staff, who are all friendly. Their shrimp sandwiches are my favorite. The shrimp is fresh, and the smooth avocados and crispy grilled sourdough make a great combination for every bite. I'll try their salads and breakfast next time. It's worth traveling far to be here.

Today, I arrived earlier, at around 12:30 pm, but encountered a long line, and once again found that the salads had sold out. However, I'm grateful that one of the male staff members was willing to ask the chef to prepare a salad for me. He also informed me that I could call ahead to reserve a salad. So, if you're planning to visit, make sure to arrive early or call ahead since the place is quite popular and busy during lunch hours.

My friend recommended this cafe to me when I just started working in the neighborhood. I love their Iced Spanish Latte and great sandwiches (grilled cheese and chicken ... ). Good customer services too.

Truly amazing! Visiting from Toronto and stopped by, it was well worth it. The happiest owners, and delicious smelling shop. I got the sweet potato cake, which was very unique, and sampled the red velvet. The most perfect amount of sweetness and texture, and the best cream cheese frosting I’ve ever had (I don’t usually like frosting but this was so good.) If I wasn’t just visiting I’d buy a whole cake to take home to share with my family for sure. They also do cute little gift boxes. Thank you!

The cakes and dessert are wonderful, never too heavy or too sweet. I'd recommend the mango and or the blueberry cheesecake, the carrot cake, the Belgian chocolate cake and or the tiramisu (basically everything I've had so far has been great). You also often get a little cake sample, which is lovely (who doesn't love free cake?!)
The cafe is clean, and the general atmosphere is peaceful and warm. There is also complimentary WiFi in the cafe, so great if you need to get a bit of work done.

Sweet cozy little local organic market with a very pleasant vibe throughout! Clean and tidy with appealing fruit and vegetable displays. Espresso and bakery treats counter here as well! Nice place to shop, lovely staff.

They have some freezer dedicated for local maker’s product which you rarely find in any grocery stores. Morgan Harbour - Stew Peas Patties is to die for!!! And they have Nuba Falafel!! The most important thing they always have Earnest Ice Cream in stock. What would Vancouver be without Earnest, right?!
For vegans, they have a whole fridge which is dedicated for all vegan products from milk, cheese, meat alternatives you name it. Highlight: they have Yoggu here!
