Very friendly staff and good service. I ordered the Ruka vanilla cream latte and it tasted a little off but was still good. The person who took my order came over unprompted and said they made a mistake and made it with oat milk . They already had a replacement being made and gave me the correct order very quickly. Coffee was nice and atmosphere was chill. Great place!

Great local spot to grab coffee and treats. The staff are really nice and make an effort to remember your order, chat you up and bring you your food or drinks. There's a cute seating area outside and a smaller area inside. The wraps and treats are quite good too! Love getting a breakfast burrito with my coffee!

I really enjoy my visits here, even it's while I wait for a sandwich to be toasted. There's a real sense of community in here. The staff are friendly and welcoming. The food is really good, excellent quality and reasonably priced. I'm lucky that my office is close by.

Ordered a delivery this morning and was genuinely happy to see this “Happy Friday” wish on a bag of cookies. For me it means that they care, thank you ☺️ ordered tiramisu coffee which was absolutely amazing, panini and almond croissant. Definitely will order again.

The barista was very friendly and warm. Even helped me decide on a drink. I got the pumpkin spice latte, thanks to the barista's recommendation. I only wish it was sweeter, but that is merely my own petty critique. Otherwise, I very much enjoyed my drink.

The interior was very cozy and cute with a very picturesque image of what a cafe would look like in a book.

Everything is awesome about this cafe! The staff are so friendly and genuine, I love stopping by on my way to work ☺️ coffee is great and banana bread is delicious — they have lots of sandwiches/food options but I haven’t tried those yet
Tried their Hawaiian coffee, but it was a bit too sweet for me. Their regular latte is way better. It's a spacious cafe, and interiors are done tastefully. Will come again and stick to my regular latte.
Stumbled upon this cafe on our first day in the city while suffering with jetlag. What a find, the food is amazing and the service great. We are now coming back here for breakfast each morning. Couldn't recommend highly enough.
I was quite surprised by how good the coffee is. I’m a coffee snob and I tried many coffee shops… the two problems I have with coffee shops is either the coffee is too acidic or low quality that tastes like water… I liked this place because it wasn’t acidic nor tasting like water and better tasting then Starbucks is all I need to be satisfied. I tried the iced latte their popular one and it was delicious!

Ordered Ruka Tiramisu Latte and Raspberry donut. Was super good. Staff was friendly and nice!
This is always a fun place to stop for a quick bite. I love the tropical aesthetic with the feel of the open air cafe! It's the best when it's a nice (or just nice-ish) day and the windows are open and you can feel the breeze while you're inside... It seems like it's always busy around lunch, when I usually come, but I've always been able to find a spot inside or in the patio area.
Between this downtown location and the other cafes, I've been here many times and gotten the chance to try a lot of the menu. There are always a few very cool seasonal drinks which keeps things fresh. My personal favourites for food are the veggie quiche and the guava loaf (or whatever seasonal loaf is available), but everything is great. For drinks, I usually go for whatever is seasonal, but they also do really good matcha lattes, and lattes are very good too - again, you can't go wrong. It's a little expensive but it's all really good stuff!
They have a small retail selection where you can buy their jams, dressings, beans, and merchandise. I'm not much of a coffee nerd but if you are, they have a few different unique beans from Hawaii here.

First of all, staffs are very friendly.

And I know people do make mistakes sometimes but my drink did not come with what I pay for, and it's probably like the sixth time now. Sometimes my drink is made by same person but still taste totally different everytime.

Lack of standard.
Our mid morning bike ride pit stop for the last year. I’m completely hooked on their Yuzu Espresso Soda. A cold spritzer coffee with just the right amount of sweetness. 😋😋

All their pastries are amazing. My goto snack are their amazing Matcha Breakfast cookies.

Great service and friendly staff.
We always return to this Hawaiian themed oasis for the coffee. Nicely prepared. The place is calm, clean, comfortable and cool on a hot day. Our preferred place for a coffee break in Kerrisdale.

I never give bad reviews, but this time I unfortunately just have to. The place is pretty, the products fine and the location amazing, but the service we received was awful. The cashier didn‘t greet us, was standing right in front of us without talking and just being on his phone for about a minute, very slowly took our order in a disinterested demeanor while continuing to text, didn‘t say a word after payment and left even though there was a line behind us. He stood in a corner, still on his phone, not giving a single look to what was going in the café. The barista also wasn‘t too engaging, was fairly slow and didn‘t do the drinks in order since the people who ordered after us got their drinks first. I hope they just had a bad day but it didn‘t seem that way.

I requested extra caramel syrup in my coffee, and when received my drink it had very little of the flavouring. I believe this happened as I observed the caramel syrup they were using was near done, and the correct amount probably wasn’t used when making my drink. I understand that things like this happens during a fast paced work environment. Just next time be more aware of different ingredients amounts.

Excellent friendly service. I was visiting Vancouver for vacation, and went to this cafe for breakfast everyday during my week long vacation, due to the friendliness of the staff and delicious food. Their truffle mushroom wrap and the ham & cheese croissant were delicious. They also made my chai latte extra strong when requested, exactly to the way I like it. Thank you for the great service.

Bright and airy cafe with a selection of pastries/cakes and sandwiches! They have some interior and patio seating. They also have a variety of grocery items available for purchase like fruit syrups, coffee beans, milk. No AC but they have fans. Good wifi, and outlets available.

Went by this afternoon to check out the one on Hornby. Paid over seven dollars for a large latte. Seems like it’s turned into another tourist trap coffee shop. Apathetic, ESL staff, dirty dishes on most of the tables, bland food and Mediocre coffee. They had a promotion for a complementary croissant with a latte, the croissant was a plain day old bakery item about as tasteful as the cardboard box it came in. This used to be a great coffee shop but now it seems like another business that didn’t recover its service after Covid
Instagram made me come here… was curious about the cloud hot chocolate drink but was told it was only served during the valentine campaign 🥹

Went with something else but overall great cafe with nice pastries.

I went to Artigiano this morning to grab a coffee and food. When I leave from the entrance, there was a caretaker blowing the street leaves and dust all over me, including my coffee and food. I hope that there could be improvement from the property management to provide clear guidance to their staff not to blow the dust toward customer or any entrance of these coffee shops. located in their building. It is common sense.

Great ambiance at this cafe. Quiet during the week days. Can be very lively and busy once cruise season hits in the summer with lots of tourist. Super busy on the weekends. Coffee here unfortunately was very watered and gross. We ordered two cappuccinos and they were watery and bitter. Bathroom is available without key required.

It's the first time I tried this coffee shop, the coffee, the environment, and the staff are all good
They have a nice outdoor seating area. There’s a nice open courtyard that kids can play in. Hubby ordered their Hawaiian latte which was very tasty. The chai I ordered was bland and watery and could definitely use more flavor.

Such a cute cozy coffee place, pet friendly and the staff are amazing. They make homemade muffins and other baked goods, just a few step from my home.
A really nice Hawaiian themed cafe with great beverages and tasty looking snacks.

I tried the Hawaiian latte, which was just a bit sweeter than a regular latte, with flavors of macadamia and coconut 🥥 (which worked really well with the coffee).

The baked goods looked really nice as well, and though I wasn't hungry, I had to put up a picture so people check em out.

Kinda hard to reach since there's no skytrain around the area, but if you're nearby and like coffee and cookies, you should definitely try this place.
Honolulu Coffee was an excellent cafe to have breakfast at to start off our time in Vancouver. With ample space, outdoor seating, delicious and unique items like the guava cream puff, and abundance of aloha vibes, this spot did not disappoint. The breakfast burrito was a bit heavy on the quinoa I have to say, but the cold brew, breakfast sandwich, and cream puff were quality. Worth a stop if you’re walking by and looking for a place to step back and relax.
Hawaiian Latte is 10/10 hot or iced. My go to any time I’m in the area. Service is always consistent and efficient. Lots of unique baked goods too. Would recommend stopping by!
One of my favourite coffee spots in Vancouver! I frequent both the Olympic Village and downtown locations. I’m not from Hawaii, but I’m from the East Coast of Australia, so the overall surfy/beach vibe at Honolulu Coffee makes me feel right at home. I enjoy the black coffee at Honolulu, and the Hawaiian latte. Also: the cream cheese muffin. Absolutely delightful. The downtown location has a big table ideal for working from a laptop also! Staff are always friendly and there’s just a real cosy atmosphere here.

Terrible service. I watched the cashier (assistant manager) making mistakes when submitting customer orders. Instead of easily rectifying the issue she was escalating the situation by telling them they were wrong and made the wrong order. As a customer standing in line, it was clear it was her mistake. Regardless this Assistant Manager needs to receive more training and set a better example for their staff. There are way too many cafes in the neighborhood to bother dealing with such bad service. I left without ordering after seeing the interactions.

I gave them 1 star because of their poor service. I ordered a soy latte because I’m lactose intolerant and while the barista was making the drink I noticed she used whole milk. I quickly told her I ordered soy milk and the cashier quickly said I didn’t say soy. She then gave me a weird look and told the barista a couple times saying I didn’t say soy. Instead of apologizing to me for the mistake she made, she turned it into an uncomfortable situation. I will not go back again.

Delicious food and Really good environment! And great place for spending a morning here!
Delicious açai bowls. Coffee is definitely a must try. They have many options to choose from. They also usually have creative menu items to try and they always participate in Vancouver Hot chocolate fest with cool entries.

A bit busy but can usually find a seat quickly enough. Docking one star because the prices are a bit on a higher side.
Must try hawaiian coffee if you like sweetened coffee. If not, it is still worth to try their kona coffee which is fabulous. Guava bread is amazing. They have cute merchandises as well.

vibes are great, not too busy in the middle of a weekday. Limited plugs, 1hr free wifi with Telus (not sure if they have their own unlimited wifi).

The matcha latte looks great but tastes horrible - as if you're drinking some type of tainted water that doesnt taste like milk or matcha. Not sure what happened with it.
Loved this place. Nice vibes and good. Especially I really liked seating near glass and click pictures lol coffee was good too. Only thing is less options available for my vegetarian friend who went along with me.

A spacious one.
Interior is nice.
Lots of seating arrangements.
Baristas are very helpful.
There’s street parking 1$/hour available outside.
Pretty good one to do some work or study.
The surrounding neighborhood has lots of small eateries as well.
My favourite location in Vancouver. It is a calming space to grab a coffee and something to eat, especially when visiting the hospital.
The team here are always pleasant and kind, and that is so very much appreciated in times of hospital traumas.
The pastries are always fresh, and sells out most days, so guaranteed freshness every time.

The coffee is creamy strong, tasty.

Although busy, there always seems to be a seat opening up when I arrive.

The Shortbread cookies are to die for! Omg they are the best I have ever tasted, ever! And the cookies too.

Long overdue to write this review. I have frequented this coffee shop for quite a number of years, but much more regularily in the last two or three. It is now pretty much my main destination for coffee, to sit in or take out, and I cannot say enough about how great the currrent ownership and staff are. It is not common to find such consistently pleasant and professional staff like the group here. They are wonderful! The coffee and food are good too, and the decor and surroundings are lovely and well maintained.
Always good. Neighborhood place on West End. A good place to hang with the locals. Located right on Davie Street.

i am so lucky that this is my local starbucks where i work. the staff here are so kind! i pretty much exclusively mobile order and therefore am only in the shop for a few moments to grab my drink and go, and even in my short time in the shop, someone (or multiple people!) will ALWAYS say hello/good morning to me! it seriously is so appreciated and enhances the already great experience of getting a little sweet treat, by having a warm exchange with their sweet staff💗 thank u for being amazing!
Ordered the Acai smoothie but it unfortunately only tasted heavily of the Sun Rype apple juice that they were using as a base. There were no blueberry, strawberry or banana taste at all and the consistency of the drink was basically juice instead of smoothie. I would not pay $10.76 again just to drink Sun Rype apple juice.
I love the other two Honolulu Coffees in Vancouver and just visited this one for the first time. This location is smaller than the other two but has the same beachy aesthetic and relaxed atmosphere, and basically the same menu. I got the Taro Bread and the White Blossom (spring 2023 seasonal drink) here. I loved the natural flavour and texture from the real taro in the bread, and because it wasn’t super sweetened, it was a great breakfast pastry. The White Blossom, which is a elderflower-flavoured oat milk tea latte with guihua flower garnish was also very good! The elderflower flavour was subtle but I liked how it gave the drink a floral undertone without overshadowing the tea. Based on all the food and drink I’ve tried at the other locations, you really can’t go wrong with anything on the menu, but I’m always a fan of the seasonal drinks and the Guava Bread.

WOW! Kranky Cafe really did fix my cranky. Not only is this a hidden gem coffee shop, but the service is amazing! I had the soup of the day which happened to be a white cabbage soup-- delicious! The ladies serving us brought out out food and drinks to the patio since it was a beautiful day. I wish I were local to the area, because I'd be here all the time. Thank you!

Please receive this review as an invitation to enjoy a hot cup of Java at Artigiano in Kerrisdale. The service is excellent and your name is remembered. There are only a few places in Vancouver that treat people so kindly, give Artigiano (in Kerrisdale) a chance.
I'd been wanting to come here since the very beginning of the Greater Vancouver Hot Chocolate Festival. Just couldn't resist the "Raincouver" hot chocolate with the cloud of Cotton Candy that I'd been seeing all over social media and I knew it was something our daughter would enjoy. So...we finally made it out to Honolulu Coffee for the "Raincouver" hot chocolate. While we were at it, we decided to also order "The Donut" which is the other flavor of hot chocolate that Honolulu Coffee is offering for the hot chocolate festival.
The donut which accompanied "The Donut" hot chocolate was delicious. We enjoyed it almost as much as we enjoyed the cotton candy. We enjoyed the cotton candy more...but only because it was funner. In terms of tastiness, the two treats were about neck and neck.

Both hot chocolates were good but the Raincouver was our favourite, and not just because of the Instagram worthy cloud of cotton candy that was suspended over the drink. The Donut hot chocolate had a shot of espresso in it. This made the drink taste more like a coffee beverage than a hot chocolate beverage. We enjoyed it; however, we preferred the Raincouver hot chocolate which had more of a traditional hot chocolate taste to it.

I was overjoyed when I saw a sign in the shop that said they accept clean, reusable cups! Really hoping to see more of this moving forward as I'm very much an advocate for eco-friendly options.

Service: Good
Parking: Free parking nearby on West or East Blvd.
Location: West 41st @ West Blvd.
Melriches has a lot of character.  Very artsy and cozy.  It even has a library.  Local artists are showcased on the walls.  I usually just have coffee and a croissant, which are both good.  But there are a lot of other food options.  There is also seating outside, both front and back.  WiFi is good.  Staff are down to earth and friendly.
I loved the place, I came here on purpose to have Raincouver (it’s their seasonal drink - hot chocolate , they will serve it till 14 Feb) I saw it in Instagram, it looked so appealing. When I came there it was almost on every table 😄 also it works till 6 pm, which is a pretty good as normally cool cafes in Vancouver close real early. It was very crowded though , we luckily got a seat.

What really makes Melriches such a staple for Davie street is the mix of excellent customer service and outstanding fellow patrons. Because this is such a hot spot for the LGBTQ+ community, the people surrounding you while you sit and enjoy your cup of coffee and delightful meals, are always so friendly and vibrant. This may not be the most 'instagrammable' experience in terms of decor, but the feeling you get that this place serves, is top notch. I would like to come back to take photos of their other menu items because I don't feel like my pics are doing this place justice. Otherwise, I highly recommend this place if you're new to the city, are not afraid to be open minded with your company, and enjoy striking up a conversation with a stranger ☕🍰
Just realized we’ve been eating this legendary breakfast sandwich (with ham - on sourdough) for 20 years now. Between the OG location on Davie and the one in Yaletown we’ve been enjoying this place forever. The hot sauce with the sandwich is made of unicorns and rainbows as far as we’re concerned. Keep crushing it Melriches. I’ll see you again when I’m back from my diet haha.
My favourite part of this coffee shop was the bathroom. Not because everything else was bad, but because the vibes in the bathroom were particularly good. Honolulu as a whole was quite good. I walked in from the cold rain and immediately felt warm and comfortable. The atmosphere is obviously tropical and boho, as per the name, but it is done in a tasteful way. I’ve been meaning to try Honolulu for a long time but I specifically went for their Hot Chocolate Fest creations. I tried the Donut, which was a decadent hot chocolate paired with a raspberry chocolate donut. I don’t particularly like the classic raspberry-chocolate duo, because if you add fruit to dessert it obviously automatically makes it breakfast, but this pairing was down very well. The donut itself was soft and not too heavy, which is a nice change from many of the donuts you can get in Vancouver. The seating options are all comfortable and varied, making the overall experience cozy and welcoming. The bathrooms, decked out with tropical leaf wallpaper and an aesthetically pleasing accent cabinet and good lighting, make for a good mirror selfie. Because we have our priorities straight.

Large space with lots of seating in the middle of Chinatown. I went there at 2 pm on a weekday and I was able to find a small table easily. I asked for decaf skim cappuccino but they didn't have skim milk so I settled for soy. The $5 cappuccino came in a small cup. It tasted strong but had a slight odd taste so not sure if it was due to the decaf beans, the soy milk or something else. The food selection was very limited when I was there (I saw mainly cookies) so I passed on that. Service was friendly and fast but not sure I will go there again just for the coffee.

Latte was pretty good. Pasties looked delish - I tried Vanilla cream brioche. It was not very sweet, but the bread tasted dry - probably not from the same day. Anyway, a good place for grabbing some coffee and just chill.
Stopped by for a coffee and some "sugar". The carrot cake was very delicious. As a tourist in town, I got the impression this place has its local customers. The place itself had a comfy and warm vibe to it. Would I live in town and pass by reguarly, I would most likely return here. Friendly staff!
Wonderful coffee and delicious baked goods. I recommend the Hawaii Latte if you enjoy a sweet drink. And the tasting flights are an experience for fit for any coffee enthusiasts.
Not bad, I quite enjoyed the ambience and decor. It’s very bright and comfortable, although a tad small and not too much room.
I’m not sure how the plain coffee is, but my favourite things are ice mochas and the one I got here was not as good as I was expecting it. There wasn’t too much coffee taste it in, unfortunately.
Overall a nice place, wouldn’t mind trying a different drink here next time. Their pastries looked great as well.

A nice, inviting cafe with cool friendly people working there. The coffee is good and the pastries are pretty delicious as well. Would return, would recommend.

1) For the snobs like me, they filter their water. Not sure what the other guy is saying, but this is at minimum 4-5 stars on that alone.
2) Perfectly steamed milk that was ready to immediately consume. No burning your lips or tongue, no too hot to hold. Just right.
3) Pricing is okay - par, not cheap, but not outrageous. $0.25c cup fee tips it into territory of never being a daily driver tho.

Decor is minimal with a lot of wide spaces and tables and chairs. Quite nice. For those saying the coffee is (bad)different - likely never been a regular at places that filter water. Tim hortons is nearby.
Too few nibble options for my liking but you're in Chinatown, grab a Bao!

Takes AMEX
Unfortunately have to change my rating. I’ve had good açai bowls here in the past but the quality has gone down. I brought an out of town friend here for the açai bowls and they were icy and not at all the texture of a smoothie. Chunks of ice in the bowl made it very unenjoyable to eat for breakfast. I mentioned it to the barista and she said “the açai is cold so that’s why there’s chunks of ice”. Considering you pay $20 a bowl, I expected a little more or at least better service. Will not be returning. Body energy club and Craffles on Davie have better smoothie bowls.
The coffee here was decent despite the disappointing bowls.

A spacious coffee place near Main street on Pender. They offer standard coffee/espresso menus as well as have a list of coffees they serve as pour-overs (by the ordering counter).
Some pastries and coffee gears are sold as well. I believe they have no in-house roasting.
The robot theme is quite cute.

Cozy place with excellent atmosphere. Great latte ( big mug ) and i loved there strowberry muffin. Good service. They also have gluten free goodies. They have indoor and outdoor seating areas. Highly recommended.
Wonderful coffee shop that serves up good coffee and tasty food! I have tried their box cakes and oat latte and really enjoyed them! The cakes are made in-house (like everything else) and make a really great treat that’s easy to take home or gift to someone!

Their menu also listed bubble tea and a bunch of other sandwiches and goodies that I must go back for. What a great addition Ruka Coffee is! If you’re looking for a new coffee shop to check out, give them a try. Their space is also nice and bright and conveniently located on E Broadway and Nanaimo!
Kona coffee is one of my favourite coffees. Just had to come here to taste their peaberry Kona coffee. I’m a huge fan of pour over coffees. Yes it is expensive but if you love coffee you would appreciate it. Starbucks is not even in the same playing field. Starbucks coffee is so over roasted. That’s why you have to put cream and sugar to mask it.

Açai Hawaiian Bowls - brings back memories of Maui. The açai was really good texture. Was not watery and had good consistency. Lots of nuts, honey and fruit and granola. My family really enjoyed it.

Brownie - was kind of hard. So not moist, a bit dry but it was yummy.

Pour over 100% Kona Peaberry - really good cup coffee. Chocolate and honey notes. Pour over method used was Hario V60. Water temp was 205. I’m happy to pay the money for this coffee. I watched the pour over being done and it was well done. I didn’t time the extraction but it tasted good.

This is my first time to come here to have coffee. The ambience is very comfortable with contemporary design. It is not too crowded on a Saturday morning. The customer service is great! The barista is very polite and friendly.

I order their latte. If I am drinking it as I am typing the review here, it is so good!!!! Very smooth and delicious! And it is not too hot that is burning my tongue. The price is acceptable at $4.75.

I would love to come back and enjoy their coffee next time. They just don’t have a lot of food options. They do sell some croissants and muffins. That’s all.

Conveniently located in downtown Vancouver.

The staff is very friendly and helpful. Good selection of coffee brews (espresso based, filter, milk and non-dairy milk based).

Food menu mainly comprises of pastries and three brunch options. Pastries looked interesting (one gluten free option available that day) and breakfast/brunch options were decent. The avocado toast was simple but poached egg was rather over cooked when I ordered.

Good spot for coffee for sure!
Good coffee, friendly service, yummy quick grabs for breakfast or snack. They do have a small menu as well. Speed of service can take time if a busy period. Adequate seating and patio. Have to say did prefer here when it was a quirky non chain coffee place that opened following the renovations of the Burrard Motor Inn the atmosphere just was better to me. $$

I wanted to love this location but it wasn't meant to be. Firstly, this store needs an updated look. Oddly enough the ceiling tiles are warped and some of them are lifted on the corners which makes for an overall strange aesthetic. Much of the furnishings are worn such as the edges of tables, the table legs, wooden trim around the fireplace, the leather chairs and sofa all look dated. Outside the grounds are littered with cigarette butts despite having no smoking signs on each table. Seems people don't care, so don't be surprised if you get exposure to smoke while outside. I had retreat to my car as it happened to me. On the bright side they offer plenty of seating, washrooms, handicap accessibility in a large space. Also a friendly staff which made a good beverage.

I LOVE their coffee but i find the food overpriced for its quality and compared to other cafes. There are plenty of outlets and seats. Staffs are nice and I’d love to go back!

Update November 2021: This store has undergone a renovation and now has a contemporary look (and cleaner). Therefore, rating has been adjusted to 4 stars.
-----
Cozy, larger than average size store with a steady stream of customers. Offers the products and service that customers come to expect of this popular chain, including a Clover machine. Fireplace, outdoor seating and large patio windows (opened in good weather). Parking is by street meter and nearby lots and residential street spots.

2020 Note: at times this location is not kept clean including the washrooms (therefore 3 stars).
