Unfortunately, we found this place to be disappointing. It doesn’t have a great flow of information, feels lacking in information about what you are looking at or how things are connected, and often displays are too densely packed. The information just isn’t presented in an interesting way. We gave it a shot but I wouldn’t go again nor would I recommend it. And I generally enjoy things like this, including typical “tourist traps” but definitely not this. Oh and the bathroom is out of order…not sure how long it’s been like that and I could be wrong but I get the feeling that they do not intend to fix it soon - there is a nearby place to go so that might not be as big of a deal to others.
Great place if you want to learn some history and not just party on the French quarter. If you love true crime and serial killers you will be fascinated with all the cool stuff you will find here! We stayed 2 hours and only because they were closing! Closes at 6pm!

Seeing as it is free and located in City Park, my recommendation is to go early and enjoy it then catch the museum, or botanical gardens, or have beignets that Cafe du Monde and then return again to the garden to catch it with different light.

Loved this! Highly recommend for the beautiful sculptor and a nice walk in nature. There's a pond throughout the garden and lots of benches to sit and even the surrounding area if you enter from the city park is nice walk to get to the garden if you have time! Will definitely come again especially in a day the museum is art is open as it's closed in Monday. Also the entrance to the garden is free / whatever you want donations

Spectacular sculpture garden! Although I didn’t get a chance to check out the art museum, we stopped here for a short stroll not really expecting much. Beautifully maintained area and such a variety of sculptures.
I honestly can't believe this is free. The gardens are amazing! You could easily spend over 2 hours here walking and looking at all of the sculptures. Definitely a must visit if you are in town!

Entry is now included as part of Museum of Art. Thoroughly enjoyed this more than the museum! Beautiful manicured gardens and tastefully laid out and designed. Recommend going early morning or later in afternoon as it was very hot in the recent heat.
Very well maintained beautiful sculpture garden in city park . It’s free to enter. You can spend as long as you want ! Min time required will be about:45mins -1 hour. It’s open air. So, recommend going in when it’s cooler so you can spend more time admiring the sculptures.
We went on the weekend and it wasn’t very busy. There’s a very interesting colorful bridge.

Amazing museum and sculpture garden you can easily spend 3-4 hours here. Really makes an effort to be inclusive and frame the artworks in a historical contest without it becoming the sole focus. Number one attraction in New Orleans!
Come here just for the garden if you don’t like to go inside a museum! But you have to see this amazing place ❤️. You can see so many sculptures and pieces of arts .

Not the biggest and best aquarium in the world, but so cool to have this in NOLA. They have a good collection and you can get an add-on ticket to see the Insectarium, which is also very cool.
A bit pricey, but I imagine it costs a lot to take care of all of those creatures. A wonderful place to spend a hot afternoon!

The new aquarium is amazing! I love the combined insectarium, my 3yo loved all the big bug exhibits. I really loved the new butterfly garden. The aquarium itself is always nice, we really enjoyed the stingray pool and penguins. We are Audubon Park members and love being and to go to the aquarium and zoo 💜
Visited this gem in 2021 while exploring New Orleans. It is a part of the New Orleans Museum of Art. At that time, we had to pay $5 per person to enter, but now it's free. The 12-acre sculpture garden is a masterpiece with 90+ magnificent sculptures and landscapes, set amidst hundreds of trees, 200-year-old live oaks, palmettos, and shrubs. The garden also offers an outdoor amphitheater, stage, reflecting lagoon, pedestrian bridges and walkways, and a new gallery.
Highly recommend to visit. This is a unique opportunity for visitors who treasure the arts.

This was a super cool and informative museum. My favorite part was the interactive board in the front. I expected there to be more to the museum though- it was pretty small in terms of exhibits or sights to see. Since I came here once I don’t think I’d come again unless they incorporate new exhibits.
WOW! I was amazed by this experience and the creativity, artistry, research, local collaboration, engineering, and technology that went into this design. I visited for museum month and am grateful Vue is participating. Vue beautifully captures the culture of NOLA in a way that is fun and engaging for kids AND adults. I love that and I had a blast! The interactive screens at the beginning, the kitchen counter, and the elevator were the highlights for me! This will be on my "Must Visit" list for anyone who comes to visit me in New Orleans. There is no better way to be introduced to the city and the culture, all in one place.
Amazing museum if you’re into death and serial killers. Lots of stories to read about along with artifacts from actual cases. Super cool. Only suggestion would be to have a working bathroom. I really had to go and I had to hold it the whole time I was there.
For me and the hubby, It was an awesome day!! From the bottom to the top, everyone was friendly, and the features are so educational about New Orleans. As a Native to South LA. Being a tourist in my own city is something I enjoy. My husband and I bought the gold pass.. we will most definitely be bringing friends and family for the experience. I hope to see more unique experiences added to this already cool place. Prices are what they are for the times we live in.

Some really cool stuff in here. And some really great gifts up front. I didn't know there was any truth to the American Horror series.
This was an absolutely incredible experience! You have to see it to understand. The exhibits are interactive and immersive. You’ll learn about history of the area, cultures, food, drinks, music, parades, and more. They make you feel like you are with the people in them. On the second floor, you get to try to steer a ship which is fun and harder than it sounds! There are viewfinders that you can point to different areas which will identify neighborhoods and attractions. The top floor was amazing as well! Next time we go to New Orleans, we are going back!
We come to New Orleans every summer for a month long visit and while we adore this city and love being here with kids, I often feel like we mostly just return to the things they already know and love. There just doesn't seem to be that many new things offered from year to year. Which is why I was so excited to discover Vue Orleans. And it did not disappoint! The entire thing is so well done. My kids (10,8, 2,5) all loved interacting with the different exhibits and stayed at each station for a long time. As an adult, I thought the entire place truly captured the soul and spirit of New Orleans. As an added bonus - I think ticket prices are very reasonable and really appreciated that children under 3 are free!
Oh my goodness, how to express how great this aquarium is?? Completely up to date, filled with exhibits, interactions, animals, and the friendliest staff. Be sure to stop by the kitchen - I tried a cricket chocolate chip cookie! Well worth the price, especially on a week day when it's a bit emptier.
There were a lot of people waiting, so we finally gave up. But they did seem to have a lot of brochures and we would have wanted to ask about a swamp boat ride and also a horse or mule ride. But we didn’t want to waste our day waiting.
This is a great experience for seeing the entire city, the view is spectacular! You get to learn so much about the Crescent City. They have special viewfinders and interactive displays. It really is special.
Disclaimer: I highly recommend being super mindful if you have anxiety or claustrophobia, that the elevator ride may not be it. They play videos on the elevator that are loud and overstimulating and can be overwhelming.

Wonderful museum. Love the permanent collection and the exhibits are always great. It’s also free on Wednesdays for Louisiana residents which is a plus! Definitely worth the visit!
I so desperately wanted to take pictures of all the items in the main walkthrough but I honered the wishes of the owners. Went to the Museum of Death in LA years ago but it was nice that there were different and unique pieces here exclusively. Always have had a fascination with things like this so I loved it! Certainly not for everyone though.
The Oyster Sidewalk is about all that remains of the old Pearl Oyster House, closed in 2015. The Terra Cotta oyster sidewalk and the orignal neon sign mark where the original 1920’s business once flourished. The sidewalk is another cool reminder of a past era. Sort of nice to see.
We enjoyed the AC as we escaped the hot, humid New Orleans weather. The kids enjoyed looking at all of the exhibits. It is easier and quicker to buy the tickets online than waiting to get them there. On the weekend, it was crowded, but not too packed.

Wow this museum was awesome! So much serial killer stuff to read and look at. A lot of stuff to do with death. Truly a remarkable experience you won’t forget. We spent a lot of time checking everything out. The theater is very graphic and it is warned. The tv is showing dead bodies almost the whole time. I loved this place so much personally but it’s not for everyone. No photos are allowed in the museum at all. You aren’t supposed to take out your phone. You are welcomed to use it in the gift shop part of it though.
Our visit to the sculpture garden was supposed to be a prequel to the museum as we waited for it to open. But we enjoyed it so much we stayed and explored it for a couple more hours. So many interesting and beautiful pieces in a tranquil shaded space. Really enjoyed all the water elements as well. We had a lot of fun trying to predict the names of the pieces as we approached them. We were generally always wrong but it helped us look at each piece more thoughtfully. For the parts of the garden that are less shaded I recommend you bring a hat, water, sunscreen and perhaps even an umbrella. Otherwise you'll be more tempted to cut your visit short because of the sun and heat.
I cannot begin to explain how absolutely incredible this museum was.
I could have spent HOURS in there, and been perfectly content.

This New Orleans Art Museum has the perfect size to visit and #exploreNOMA in a few hours. The setting is spacious and elegant, embedded in the lush greenery of City Park.
I loved seeing works of art that I had only seen in books before. To meet them in person was like seeing a long lost friend.
I appreciated the diversity of the artists, the socially-conscious messages, and art from ancient times to the contemporary era.

Great range of exhibits from well-known artists of different art genres, and plenty of local art too on display. It's well-priced and in a great location. I believe if you are a student, you get a discount on the entry price too. Certainly would recommend it to anyone coming through the City Park who enjoys art.
The museum is great. I was excited for the few impressionist paintings. Was good to see. My favorite exhibit is the African area. Such a great collection of masks , ceremonial and everyday life objects.
I loved this place though I could see why some wouldn't. If you are a true crime junkie or like the dark side of life you'll love. View serial killer art and letters along with crime scene videos. I love my souvenir of a wet specimen of a heart.

I see this aquarium is being updated. Not sure how it could get better… we loved our visit here. We found activities that would be fun for teenagers and us adults that are young at heart! Our kids had a great time. The otters were hilarious. I love anything ocean related. One daughter made friends with a huge grouper (I think) that followed her around. She finally just sat down next to it. It was hilarious. Can’t wait to come back and see the new renovations as I’m already giving it 5 stars. Friendly staff and knowledgeable. Thank y’all for a great visit!
Nice little museum and shop if you want to learn a bit about voodoo history. Note that this is a very small museum and not necessarily a professional museum experience. Seems like something put together by a couple individuals that wanted to share more about the meaning behind Voodoo.

3 floors of art to go through ranging from classical, modern, photography, sculptures, and artifacts. I really enjoyed the sculpture gardens which are free to go through on a nice day. There is a cafe for drinks and food but it is really slow so plan to go earlier than lunch. Lots of space, it being busy was not an issue.
Amazingly interesting museum. I didn’t really know anything about voodoo culture before going in, but I left feeling like my eyes had been opened. I learned so much from the different exhibits and there is plenty of information to read and help understand it all. The museum is small, but packed with many different things.
Educational, fun, authentic layers in this one of a kind space. Lots to learn and observe and some genuinely unique objects loaded with significance. Terrific gift shop with locally made crafts. Touristy, but not in an obvious way. Singular vibe.
This is an excellent stop to learn the history of Voodoo and Hoodoo. It explains rituals, dolls, Doctors and Queens. The stories of the Voodoo influencers are enthralling. Soo many objects to look at and learn. The gift shop has books and souvenirs to take away to remember your day. Definitely worth the stop.

Such an Incredible little museum. I bought tickets on the spot, it wasn’t to busy but It’s tight quarters as you work your way through the rooms to be prepared. They have a great gift shop as you enter & exit for an whimsical needs/souvenir’s. I will definitely be back!!
My wife and I have been coming to Nawlins for 10 years, and it has been getting more dangerous every time we come. Homelessness is now right on Canal St, and the powers in charge aren't doing anything. We used to love riding the Streetcars but now you can't depend on them.

We were riding the St. Charles Streetcar line from Napoleon to Canal St, at 11:30 pm, and we were told WE HAVE TO GET OFF the Streetcar at the corner of Howard & Carondelet, and a bus will pick us up to take us to Canal St. NO BUS STOP THERE. Waited 15 minutes, fearing for our lives, 3 blocks from MLK Blvd and 2 blocks from "Tent City", where Mayor LaToya Cantrell allows the homeless to live, IN THE MURDER CAPITAL OF THE USA. Finally, I had to call for a Lyft to get to safety. LONGEST 8 MINUTES of our lives, waiting for that Lyft. 23 minutes of hell because RTA couldn't have a bus WAITING if you were terminating the Streetcar. Complained to RTA, but they just called back to read from a script about what is being done about it. Won't even reimburse for our $20 Lyft..."policy" the person reading the script told me...SORRY FOR ANY INCONVENIENCE he repeated...almost mocking me.
I have visited New Orleans 7 times since 2014... loved riding the Streetcar lines and always felt safe, but NO MORE. When we visited in 2020 and now in March 2023, we encountered problems. In 2020, I had to pull out my stun gun to protect my family from a group of teenagers, and now this.
It's sad to see the city decline into a toxic Democrat CESSPOOL with little Police patrol (Mayor's fault). Homeless people are sleeping on Canal St. right outside posh hotels...and it's the norm.
I WILL NEVER COME BACK, AND I WILL SPEND MY MONEY IN CITIES THAT WANT MY TOURISM DOLLARS.
I have over 82 million views of my pictures, and I hope everyone sees this review.

Really fun museum if you are into serial murder cases and would like to see some artifacts or images. Lost a star due to being so small and when busy, can get a little tight. You must read a lot so if you enjoy reading, it ca. Take a long time to get through it all.
The store has really friendly employees. They are willing to help and answer any questions.

The vibe is incomparable
What a great place! As a resident, I enjoyed it along with tourists! I could've spent 10 hours here as there is a lot to interact with. I gave it a 4 because a few of the interactive exhibits were hard to interact with.
The videos in the elevators were fun, although my son thought it was too much.
Luckily it was not busy as it is smaller than I had imagined and if it had a lot of people in it, it wouldn't have been so fun. Definitely worth a trip for locals and tourists!

Vue Orleans is nice but I think that tourists would appreciate it a lot more than locals. I was already familiar with mostly everything that was highlighted, so there was no “wow” factor for me. There were some interactive exhibits but some were not user friendly. There are some nice views however. When we visited, the outside viewing area was closed due to the weather. It would have been nice if they would have communicated that before we caught the elevator up there. It was a waste of our time and an inconvenience. When you purchase your ticket, I highly recommend getting the reduced parking rate. It’s a pretty good deal. There’s also a decent discount for Louisiana residents.
Meh. It was okay. Very small and quite dark/dusty/dirty. Interesting stuff inside but the presentation is just a mess. Stuff everywhere. You bump into others. No space. Woman at the front desk was a little rude. May be just by nature, not sure. Gift shop was more gimmicky than authentic feeling. And quite expensive.

First the definition from PBS: Vodou originated in the ancient kingdom of Dahomey (present-day Nigeria, Benin, and Togo) and derives from the Fon word for "God" or "Spirit." Other accurate spellings include Vodun, Vodoun, but never voodoo, the sensationalist and derogatory Western creation.
This museum is neat and great place if you know anything about Vodou. It’s basically 2 rooms filled with artifacts. The lady who worked there if you want guided tour and booked please call because some cancel and may have openings.
I only related Vodou to evil but learned at a recent tour that they have one spiritual God. That it was never meant for evil but to help people. And that’s why I wanted to visit this museum.
It’s located in heart of French Quarter so be prepared to hunt for parking space. I parked across N. Rampart on Ursulines Ave, it was .7 miles away. It was a nice walk and you see most of Bourbon St.
They have nice African gifts and some from Haiti. Vodou dolls etc. And you can have psychic readings. They also have paid tours which wound probably be much better than self guided if like me don’t know much about it. I highly recommend visiting if in the area.
This museum is neat and great place if you know anything about Vodou. It’s basically 2 rooms filled with artifacts. The lady who worked there if you want guided tour and booked please call because some cancel and may have openings.
I only related Vodou to evil but learned at a recent tour that they have one spiritual God. That it was never meant for evil but to help people. And that’s why I wanted to visit this museum.
It’s located in heart of French Quarter so be prepared to hunt for parking space. I parked across N. Rampart on Ursulines Ave, it was .7 miles away. It was a nice walk and you see most of Bourbon St.

Pretty underwhelming
It's not much of "Lookout".
Enjoyed our visit to the highest spot in New Orleans. The map was a nice surprise. Glad we made the trek.
Called multiple numbers from a Google search... None of the numbers reached a person. C'mon NOLA!
A great aquarium! It took us about an hour and a half to get through the whole aquarium. We loved the Amazon, and the hand on tank. The penguins and otters were a fun and exciting surprise. My children's favorite part of the aquarium was the hands on touching of sharks and sting rays. There was a very active sting ray pup that my boys just loved! Restrooms were spacious, clean and great.
The forest trail rises and rises until you reach a platform area in the midst of trees. Beneath your feet a huge bas relief mosaic of the entire city oriented to give you a sense of place in the middle of nowhere. Worth the hike. Enjoy
New Orleans is a unique city, the one and only city in the world that welcomes everyone, that makes you feel comfortable wherever you came from. It’s a city of fun and food and drinks and music and the world-class musicians, especially the jazz musicians.
Historic and vibrant
My husband took me on this steamboat ride for my birthday and it was wonderful I had a lovely time the food was excellent the service was great and it was socially distant. 🥳
The name says it all. I love our History and the beautiful homes that still represent our uniqueness.
My sisters and I came in from California and stumbled across the welcome center. Sam helped us out and he was AMAZING!!! He was so informative/ funny and witty. His energy and hospitality was the perfect welcome to this city. I would definitely recommend stopping by and see what they have to offer you won’t be disappointed.
So upsetting! They are not a welcome center!! They are a tourist place. So we wasted precious time( we only had a short amt of time to spend. I really wish they were not deceitful 😡
New Orleans is a wonderful layered dessert of colors, sounds, smells and tastes with a shakerfull of powdered sugar on top. You can see the blend of cultures and its people that are such fun! Be sure to learn something of the past events that have contributed to present day New Orleans. And this great city is still growing and evolving regardless of what gets thrown at it.

They don't care about people, they are just pushing for cash only deposit. When I went, there was no water in the city since 2 days, so no showers. Decided to cancel a city tour 16h before and they never wanted to reimburse my 25usd deposit. Very bad service, even more when they are able to book their tour just few hours before in the morning. I recommend anybody to go somewhere else

Wrong info. Took $15 too much deposit for a $50 swamp tour.
Sent us to the wrong meeting point in the morning to get the bus, thankfully the driver called me and we were able to run down only 2 blocks to catch the bus in time. Not impressed.
Hoping we can get our $15 back.

Purportedly the highest elevation in New Orleans! Can't see much, but it's nice to run or walk up something other than a levee.
A nice spot to rest and take in the sounds and bird sightings. The lookout itself is in need of a more welcoming upgrade.
