It is a great experience to see the whole munich from top.
But try to go when the weather is nice to be able to see the Alps too.
Fantastic view. I loved that they have different levels. On the first level you can see a map on the window glass. Higher levels can get windy and so the admin shuts it down for some time when it gets dangerous.

Free on birthday!!! If you show them a valid ID

This was the house of the owners of the gorgeous Asam Church next door. The Asam brothers were some XVIII artists very rich and with notorious influence in Bavarian affairs

Although I am not a fan for the club, but still the tour and the museum were amazing, i suggest to take the tour with a guide which adds a bit more.

The Best place to see the best cars from BMW.
Beautiful Amy time of year. The place always has something going on and many people just come to the park for a Sunday stroll.
Amazing stadium both to look at and to visit. If you are ever in Munich, I highly recommend checking it out via a stadium tour (that are mostly on weekends). I cannot really put it into words why I enjoy it that much. It is a very important part of Munich's history and current skyline

The Olympiaturm, a notable landmark in Munich, offers a unique experience combining spectacular views, dining, and history. Constructed for the 1972 Olympic Games, this 291-meter tall tower provides a panoramic view of Munich and the Alps.

Dining at the Olympiaturm

The tower houses several dining options, including the famed rotating restaurant, Restaurant 181. Located at 182 meters, this restaurant offers a blend of exquisite culinary delights and a 360-degree moving view of the city. Visitors can enjoy a range of dishes, from traditional Bavarian to international cuisine. The experience of dining while the restaurant slowly rotates is truly unique, providing ever-changing vistas of Munich.

Viewing Experience

The Olympiaturm’s observation deck, situated at a height of 190 meters, offers breathtaking views. The outdoor terrace is perfect for enjoying good weather and scenic sunsets. At night, the tower offers a splendid view of the illuminated city.

Activities and Events

Beyond dining and views, the tower hosts various events and exhibitions, adding to the visitor experience. It’s recommended to check the tower’s schedule for special events or exhibitions during your visit.

Inclusion in a Munich Itinerary

A visit to the Olympiaturm can be a highlight of a Munich trip. It’s recommended to combine this with a visit to the nearby Olympic Park, exploring its beautiful grounds and perhaps engaging in other activities offered in the area.

Tips for Visiting

1. Advance reservations, especially for Restaurant 181, are recommended due to its popularity.
2. Plan your visit around sunset for a memorable experience.
3. Utilize the elevators for a quick ascent, or if you’re feeling adventurous, take the stairs for a physical challenge.

Conclusion

The Olympiaturm is more than just an observation tower; it’s a multifaceted attraction that offers stunning views, culinary delights, and a slice of Munich’s history. Whether you’re dining in the rotating restaurant or simply soaking in the views from the observation deck, the Olympiaturm promises an unforgettable experience .⬤

The view from the top is amazing, although they kelp the open balcony closed. The entry fees is high compare to the facility they provide, as there is nothing special up there. Good for one time visit.
This is a very interesting museum. To be honest, if you are not into wildlife this may not be for you. I don't hunt anymore, because I find food elsewhere and I prefer to see the animals and fish alive in the wild, but I certainly fish as often as I can (90% catch and release) so I don't have any issues with hunters or fisherpersons in any way. If you do this place isn't for you.
This museum has the most detailed history of fly fishing gear (including hooks, polls, reels and creels) I've certainly ever heard of.
The history of guns is almost as impressive. But the detail of the various birds and fish in this part of Europe is incredibly detailed and thorough.
I recorded many of the bird calls which included interactive images to help me identify birds in Italy near our home in Col Martese.
Lastly, had no idea there was such a thing as a Racoon Dog or Giant Deer that stood 9ft tall at the shoulders, and loved the Cave Bear skeletal exhibitand the information surrounding them.
7eu cost of admission. Takes 45 to 120 mins depending on your level of interest.

The architectural and structural design of the stadium was remarkable. Even in strong winds, the plexiglass roof remained perfectly stable, which was quite impressive. The surrounding park area is expansive. However, the entrance fee to the stadium felt steep considering it only allows a view of the empty facility. Be aware that parking costs are high. On a positive note, the restrooms were well-maintained and clean.

West park is very beautiful and bigger than you might expect. The highlight is the Japanese garden but go there during summer it is closed in winter and fall.
Very interesting place for people who love architecture and construction. This type of building shows how Germans do detailed construction work.

I visited on Monday, 18.12.2023.
As it is a weekday, it was not crowded. Very peaceful. Easily reachable by U6. I walked the entire park, took just over 2.5 hr. I spent good time taking pictures and capturing duck swimming. Good place for jogging, walk or simply sunbath during winter. There is a Japanese bungalow,a Thai temple, and a Nepalese pagoda. ( I am from Nepal and I was happy to see Nepalese pagoda here, though it was closed to enter). There are lakes and many ducks.
Worth a quick visit, especially if you need a respite from the weather. Not a hunter myself, but it was still a cool place to see. Also very affordable for the experience.

baeautiful park that has many gems inside. an open air cinema, round table ping pong, bavarian house, the most beautiful cafe inside a park I have ever seen.
It's not a huge museum but has some interesting things and fine for the price. I really enjoyed the collection of items made from bone/ivory including gunpowder flasks and jewellery. It's mostly in German so be prepared to use Google translate on your phone if that isn't your native language. Cash only.
Honestly it was nice to see all the trophies but the rest of the museum was kind of lacking depth.

If you are an adult without the kids, go straight to the top floor. The most interesting exposition is there. First time in the unordinary hunting museum, and I sinked in the old artefacts of this entertainment of the nobility of the middle age.

I wanted to see the Olympic Tower. I was a little hesitant at first....I don't like heights, but i went up, and it was great. A 360 view of Munich and BEYOND. I got some great photos. I did a virutal reality experience, and it was awesome. I highly recommend going to this site. I paid 13,€. Well worth it.
The stadium is impressive, the architecture and history around the Olympic Stadium create a special atmosphere that is difficult to describe in words.
Absolut 5 Sterne verdient :)

An important and interesting landmark in Munich, great views form 170 meters high.
When the visibility is good, you can see the Alps very clearly.
The price is 13 euro/person, a fair price for what you get.
FC Bayern Museum didn't turn out to be exciting for me. I'm sure that Bayern fans and soccer lovers will treasure a visit here, but it's simply high brow for mere mortals like me.

The museum has an impressive alleyway with trophies and awards. Important timelines in the club history have their own sections with jerseys and memorabilia. There are dedicated sections for kids and the women's team.

However, I felt there was simply too much information within each display area. Sometimes keeping it short and simple, and using different fonts and font colours can do wonders.

Another thing that I found confusing was the lack of guideways to lead you from one section to the next. So after a while you begin to merry-go-round often coming back to the same areas. This is particularly irritating if you are visiting with a group. Well, simply placing some people-guidance barriers can resolve this.

The merchandise area was well stocked and I did buy something just for memory. Overall it was an okay experience.

Great location for jogging, leisurely walks, sports and games. There are several lakes (not for swimming!), a rose garden, an East Asian garden, barbecue areas and playgrounds for the little ones. Each season has something new to offer, be it the beautiful flowers in Spring, the outdoor cinema in Summer or the sledging in Winter. There are also several cafes, beer gardens, open food stalls and a restaurant. Highly recommended.

Didn’t really enjoy it since I’m not into BMW but by brother really enjoyed it and we strolled around the museum to see the different kind of cars and the electric cars that are coming out in the next few years. There was also a really long slide that came from the top of the building, going all the way down, which was really fun and fast. Considering it’s a free entrance to the museum, Id definitely would recommend you to visit if you’re around the Olympiapark.

Best team, best stadium, best fans.

If you can afford the visit, go for the museum and tour arena. But please, don’t take a taxi cause it would be extremely difficult expensive.

Visited BMW museum as we were on holiday in Munich, it’s about 30 min on train/tram leaving opposite from McDonald’s in central Munich. You’ll have to use underground staircase to come to the middle of the road and on to the train stop.
Unfortunately BMW museum guided tour was all sold out for the day as I did not book it in advance. Piece of advice if you are looking for guided tour then book in advance. Over all experience of the place was good. Lot of BMW models to see including BMW F1 car on display too. Over all enjoyed the trip.

Munich is a beautiful city with parks in every neighborhood. Westpark is one of the bigger ones, very well maintained. You could go for a run, walk or even grill! (Might be quite crowded in the weekends, prepare to be flexible with the spot you cud find.)

On the weekends, one can also see the RC boats in the small pond.

It’s an old water-powered pumping station which was restored after Second World War when everything being destroyed. It supply the wells in the gardens of Hoftgarten. The Hofbrunnwerk is located just next to garden.
The pump room of the Brunnwerk is located underneath the Hofgartenarkaden and is open between 10am and 2pm. It allows you to visit the turbine room and watch the whole mechanism in action. Interesting visit if you do
Great for any one who loves/enjoys the game of soccer of any team. If you are making all this way to Arena, pls do not leave without booking a tour to the stadium. It is a true gem!! Loved every minute of it and shouting as long as possible to hear the acoustics (part of the tour :) !!! Visiting the players' room, feeling the thrill of hearing arenas anthem when walking out to the stadium, press conference room and so much more... We were there at the tume the turf is replaced once a year so a rare opportunity. Must must visit at any time of year!!!

Right next to the beautiful Asam Church in Sendlinger Street, is this home of the Asam Brothers, 18th century painters and builders. The impressive façade of stucco was designed by master Egid Quirin Asam himself and intended to serve as a showcase for his work. The facade of this building is pretty much all that's interesting, the interior courtyards is pretty bland and is now occupied by private residences and businesses.

The Asam Church next door is definitely worth visiting, but I wouldn't visit this building on it's own unless combined with a visit to the church as well.

The Hofbrunnwerk is a water-powered pumping station, which serves to supply the wells in the courtyard gardens of Hoftgarten. The Hofbrunnwerk is located just to the north side of the lower courtyard gardens.

Much of the old Hofbrunnwerk was destroyed in the Second World War and only some of the walls of the old buildings remain and restored as a free standing wall that actually looks picturesque. The pump room of the Brunnwerk is located in the underneath the Hofgartenarkaden and is open between 10am and 2pm, which allows you to visit the turbine room and watch the whole mechanism in action.

This monument is the Bavaria Hall of Fame and Monument to Bavaria.

The statue is of the patron and female personification of Bavaria. At over 18 metres high, she stands elegant and confident, overlooking the Theresienwiese. As one of the landmarks of Munich, it's a great photo opportunity.

Behind the Bavaria statue is the equally impressive and colossal building of the Hall of Fame. The corridors of the hall contains the busts of men and women who have contributed to the development of Bavaria. A walk through the wide corridors resembles a trip into Bavarian history, as the three-winged portico houses busts of important Bavarians from the last few centuries.

Asam Haus is located next to the beautiful Asamkirche on Sendlinger Strasse in the Old Town. This was the home of brother Egid Quirin Asam who purchased four adjoining properties and converted them into a single residency. It is considered the first time an artist built his home right next to a church he designed.

Here you find an ornate facade with delightful stucco ornamentation which complement the church next door quite well. Have a quick look at the decorative building exterior before or after you enter and spend tim in Asamkirche next door.

The South park does not have broad open lawns as other parks, but is more like a forest and is a great place to relax in the nature.

It features an outdoors gym (for calisthenics) with bars, rings and slackline, parkour section, a small climbing wall, zipline, and a soccer field. It also has a marked, 2km jogging track that circles around the park. On one end there are also a free beach volleyball court and a skater's ramp. It also has two big playgrounds for little kids, a parking lot, and a free but modern and clean public WC.
