The palace of Nymphenburg is one of the stops on the Hop on Hop off bus. We enjoyed walking the garden, this is free of charge, no entry fee to the grounds. To see the palace inside is about €8 Euro, self guided tour and it takes about 30-40 minutes. You can also purchase a full tour, €13-14 Euro and that takes 3 hours and that includes a guide. To have the recorder with descriptions of what you are seeing, well organized by room numbers, which means you can go in whichever order you want. The rental of the recorder was about €3 euro each. The palace has original furniture, some of the wall coverings have been replicated from original designs. Great spot to stroll though and enjoy some history.

Very spacious garden and beautiful palace. Definitely worth the time to walk around the gorgeous garden. You can buy tickets ahead but there's no wait time on the line. The museum close earlier than the palace so plan accordingly

Central location right in city center. What a peaceful place it is. Beautiful Cathedral and filled with a lot of history. Destroyed in World War ll but built up again after that.
I really like it’s twin towers which are high enough so you can have a city view from the top but you have to pay for that entry (5 Euro).

Nymphenburg Palace is an absolute gem! My visit here left me awe-inspired. The palace's architecture is breathtaking, and the vast gardens surrounding it are like a piece of paradise on Earth.

The interior of the palace is a step back in time to the opulence of Bavarian royalty. Each room is exquisitely decorated and tells a rich history. The porcelain rooms were a personal favorite, showcasing some of the finest porcelain craftsmanship I've ever seen.

The extensive gardens are perfect for a leisurely stroll, and the fountains are a true marvel. I visited during the summer, and it was a delight to see the fountains in full splendor.

The staff at Nymphenburg Palace were friendly and helpful, offering insights into the history and culture of this magnificent place. I highly recommend taking a guided tour to get the most out of your visit.

Whether you're a history buff, an art lover, or simply looking for a beautiful and serene escape, Nymphenburg Palace is an absolute must-visit. It's an experience that will stay with you forever, and I can't wait to return.

Enjoy free parking and WiFi also.

Spectacular palace and grounds. We drove and found parking easily. We didn’t go in the palace but walked through to the back to see the gardens, which were impressive and peaceful.
Wow what an amazing palace . The beautiful landscape, the water fountains the trees and of course the palace . The paintings on the ceilings and walls is simply stunning. It gets very crowded but the place is so big you won’t even notice .

If you are a history buff, I suggest you rather take a ticket (cost 5€)to the places inside the garden rather than the Nymphenburg palace galleries. We walked around the whole garden and read all the boards of the places inside the garden. Very interesting! It took about 3 hours.

A magnificent, artistic and huge church, definitely worth a visit, don’t forget there is a tower where you can go up to, then you can enjoy a panoramic view over Munich city, you only need to climb for about 70-80 steps, then you can take a lift for like 7 euros or so to reach the top. Unfortunately, they sealed all the windows with glasses, so there will be reflections on your photos, to avoid this, cling your camera to the glasses without any gaps.

I love this place. I just happen to be driving back from the shower and looked up some places to go and saw this and it was a very happy impromptu visit strolling the grounds. Hey beautiful adopt runs alongside the property can't see anything modern so it really takes you back in time
Broken glass everywhere, it seemed a bit neglected when compared to other parks in the area. The biergarten was a nice place to stop for a break on my walk, and probably not worth your time to go out of your way for.

Wonderful zoo and very big! Animals are kept in good conditions. My child and I only walked around two thirds of the zoo; we didn’t have enough strength to go further))
On the territory of the zoo there are children's playgrounds and a cafe.

Always love this place. You can meet a variety of different animal friends. Further more, it is located near Isar river with lots of hiking options.
It's one of the loveliest and prettiest places I've been to.

Very easy to get to by public transport.

Busy as its tourist attraction, but defo worth a visit and a fab day out combined with the botanical gardens.
A must see historical beer house in the heart of Munich. No visit would be complete without stopping here and experiencing the atmosphere and delicious beer! Service is a little slow but the place is massive and can accommodate hundreds, either inside one of their many halls or in the central outdoor terrace. Come for the beer, stay for the excellent food and great entertainment. Be sure to stroll around this massive property and take in all the ambiance and history.

Marienplatz in Munich is a captivating hub of Bavarian culture and history. The New Town Hall, with its iconic Glockenspiel clock, is a visual marvel, and the hourly performance is enchanting. The square teems with life, offering diverse experiences, from street performances to delightful local cuisine. Its central location makes it an ideal starting point for Munich exploration. However, it can get crowded, so timing your visit wisely is advisable.

It is noisy, busy and tasty. The place is huge like a dinning hall. It has a courtyard that you can enjoy fresh air, sitting inside can be stuff in the summer time. But the court yard is very noisy.
Very busy. You will have much better luck before 5:30pm. They put “reserved” signs on the few tables next to the window open to the courtyard. This area fills up quickly after 6pm.
Food is delicious. Of course I ordered pig knuckle, and of course it is delicious. But I am not sure how they make mashed potato - it is called potato dumpling - It feels like it is mixed with sticky rice and it is like a ball that can bounce - not my favorite.
Bavarian Cream with fruit is really good. The cream is soft and melts in your mouth.

You can see the foam topping on the glass - great beers for sure.

I was lucky to have a waitress with smile on her face. But overall it is a very busy place so please don’t expect too much from service. Oh the wind band starts to play from 6pm.

Small museum in a beautiful historic building. The museum seems more like a private collection, definitely not comparable in size or quality to other toy museums. May be interesting to more serious toy enthusiasts, but for us (especially the children) it was rather boring.

Due to its location it is not designed accessibly, and there are no bathrooms (we were sent to the nearby subway station after asking).
We enjoyed our dinner here. We felt like we are doing the thing that German people do, drinking beer. We shared a table with a few locals because we couldn't find an empty table. Live music was playing as we walked in around 7 pm. The chicken is my favorite. We also have the pork with a large potato dumpling

Really enjoyed watching the Glockenspiel of the Town Hall, runs at 11, 12 and 5 during our holiday to Munich. We also paid for the lift to take us up the tower of the Town Hall, I think we paid 6 euros each, the spectacular view was worth it.
Very nice place, with a beautiful atmosphere and architecture, live band. It's a big place, busy, but service is good. Bit expensive if you are a budget traveller. Beer costs almost 12 and 6 euros and meals are 18 euros. Overall, I had a good experience.

It was ok for me and rather interesting to see the history of toys, but the name of this place is a little misleading: the only toys are in glass cases. My little sisters were rather disappointed because there aren't any interactive exhibits.

If you're in Munich, definitely plan to take some time to visit the Marienplatz. This main plaza has lots to see and do. Around it, you'll find many bars and restaurants. Also, it's most famous for the clock tower with dancing figurines. I'd highly suggest watching this if you get the chance.
What an incredible place! You can walk around for hours, discovering and exploring new places and enjoying being close to nature.
Fantastic collection of plants. Highly recommended!

Majestic town square and the town hall building is magnificent. You can go all the way up the rauthaus to get a panoramic view of Munich city.

There are numerous restaurants and peppy cafes around along with clothing outlets. The great Haufbraubaus is situated just a few mitres from this place.
The garden is near Nymphenburger palace and the entry ticket is around 5 €. There are different exhibitions and a wide variety of flowers planted in an astonishingly beautiful manner in the garden. As well as a huge plant house, each room in it has a different theme and climate with various flowers and plants. Moreover, there is a laboratory for children to play and as the entry is free for children, it is perfect for families as well. There is also a shop to buy souvenirs. But the most amazing thing about this place for me was the picturesque view of the old small palace from the garden with all the beautiful and colorful flowers.
Don't miss it if you are in Munich.

That is an Amazing place to visit. A big historical building with wonderful 👍 architectural design. It has a show right at 12 o'clock that attracts many people. I think everybody must visit there at least one 🕜 time.
This park is huge and really walkable. It’s definitely worth visiting if you are in Munich.

Note that no bikes are allowed inside, so you need to leave yours outside.

Great architecture surrounded by very beautiful scenery. Large parking available nearby and the palace is easily accessible by public transport.

I did not visit the inside though.

Very nice free photo opportunity in front of the castle especially on sunny days !

The place is very clean and well maintained
Amazing place to explore and admire nature. Easy access by tram. Stop is just at the main gate. Visited with friends and we love to lost especially in this hot summer day. The garden is large divided in many parts. There are couple of green houses.
There was spring flowers exhibition on. It’s best to enjoy all of the colourful flowers, the green houses, learn more about nature and don’t forget to enjoy fishes & tiny turtles in one of greenhouse.
Entry fee is €5.50 and kids free so it's great to bring your kids and help them learn or you can have a very nice family day out. There is a cafe, restrooms and big lake in the middle of the park.

One of thr most beautiful zoo i was to. Very big, animals have a very good life.
You have to attend the demonstrations made by the zoo keepers there!
We had a fun experience in this historic beer hall. We loved the food, music and beer. The pretzel was the best I’ve ever had. We enjoyed the pork knuckles and the live band. A must visit if you are visiting Munich!
An amazing place bringing you back to childhood. Very good exibition with different toys telling their history. Lived the Steiff Teddy Bears collection and an old Barbie:)

One of the best zoos we have ever been too.
It is clear that the animals are very well cared for. They were healthy with spaces very well adapted to their needs. The spaces are also big enough, what you don’t always see in a zoo in a big city.
There was a big variety of species, some of which are not easy to see in Europe.
The baby meerkats are the cutest thing you have ever seen!! The polar bears were very impressive as well.
And this for a very good entry price.
For families you also have two petting zoos and a lot of playgrounds.
Only the souvenirs were quite expensive, but that compensates for the lower entry price.
I would definitely recommend a visit, certainly with children (but adults will love it too).

A nice place in the center of city with beautiful and amazing central location in Munich. The architecture is beautifully done. the central square is spacious and you can have a walk around old historical buildings as well as observe monuments around. They worth taking pictures of.
The main reason people love to visit here is its atmosphere at the time of ticking clock tower with dancing dolls. It has couple of very tall towers from where you can have breathtaking views of Munich city.
It’s a crowded place because main shopping street next to it. A lots of shopping stores, cafes & restaurants around for quick shopping or grabbing a quick bite.
Don’t drive there because parking is bite far but best traveling by subway. If you are planning to visit Munich, this place is a must visit.

The Wurmeck is a dragon sculpture located in main Munich square on southwest corner of Munich New Town Hall building. There’s a fascinating story behind that dragon. When the dragon came, people of Munich began dying of black death.
Eventually, the people of Munich were saved when someone killed the dragon by hitting dragon's heart with a cannon. Just above the dragon is a sculpture celebrating people at the end. showing the people of Munich celebrating the end
It's so peaceful and wonderful! I loved it and if I lived in Munich I would spend quite a lot of time there.
The entrance fee for adults was €5 in August 2023.

Very nice square, we went up to the tower, you can see Munich 360 degrees, appreciating many nice places from a different point of view. The building is incredible, many floors connected by many stairs with many rooms you can visit with no limitation. Really nice also the moment when the clock "is telling" the history of Munich
Impressive selection of animals! Super beautiful park and view points. Various selection of food and snacks.
Very clean and easy wide space. Very happy with the visit today!

The place is very nice and scenic. If you are interested to visit inside the Palace, you need to purchase €10 ticket. For guided trip and museum, you need to pay an additional €8. During my visit a few rooms were closed due to renovation. During weekend, expect a queue of 10-20 people for the tickets. Also inside the Palace.
It was wonderful. A lot of flowers in the garden and the greenhouse was really nice as well.

I wouldn't recommend using the entrance on the castle side, it was difficult to use. It had 3 different ticket scanning ports, so people would scan and use the wrong door or be too late and then their q code wasn't valid anymore. So be prepared!

One of the most amazing and beautiful gardens I’ve visited. The grounds are huge and the gardens are free to visit. You can spend almost all day there to visit all the amazing places. There are free parking nearby s well. The main palace building is a huge villa with two wings that had 16 rooms. The rooms are decorated beautifully with luxury furnitures.
Superb. There are no sounds from the city, a myriad of birds, it is pleasantly cool in the shadows. A great stroll after being in the sun, a good place to read a book.
You should pop in.
Beautiful... except of the front part with the castle. Great for jogging but unfortunately is cycling not allowed and dogs have to be on a leach. There is a lot of deer and birds in this park. Lovely! Also very beautiful old trees. But I still find the front part to be ugly. In my opinion the whole park should look like the second beautiful part.
Huge park.. I see many people cycling and running.
Can see the whole palace from this park.
They have a gondola too.. we can ride the gondola by purchasing a ticket.
There is a restaurant in the park and 24/7 drinks automated machine.

Very beautiful palace with great architecture. Palace is well maintained.
Very good place to bring kids. Unfortunately we are not able to visit all attractions in the palace.
We went only for Galarie and that was really great.
They have almost 300 parking places, we can park for free.
Every attraction has a price other than visit to Garden.
They have a Gondola too inside, we can ride with a price.
The old Botanic garden is more like a park. It is indeed nice. But the whole atmosphere is damaged with the homeless people and other strange people hanging out in this park. The, make the place not enjoyable.
A very beautiful and spacious garden, where you can spend 2 hours in a pleasant atmosphere, in the shade, they also have a coffee bar! A large collection of various plants from all over the world in one place

Frauenkirche, also known as the Cathedral of Our Dear Lady, is an architectural masterpiece that proudly stands in the heart of Munich, Germany. This iconic landmark is not only a religious symbol but also a testament to the city's rich history and cultural heritage.

The twin towers of Frauenkirche dominate the Munich skyline, making it a recognizable and cherished sight for both locals and visitors. Its Gothic architecture, characterized by tall pointed arches and intricate details, exudes a sense of grandeur and timelessness.

Entry to the Nymphenburg Palace Park and Gardens is free. They are a marvelous place to walk with stunning views, lush woodland, lakes and canals, ornate gardens, and the Grand Cascade. Ordinary water fountain. Entire Europe is filled with such fountains.
Yesterday, we visited this amazing world of flora for the first time. I must say that’s not definitely our last time. We started with an exhibition by a flower artist. Our toddler enjoyed the entire garden very much, specially, the greenhouse of the palm trees. The fossils of those palm trees are dated back to the dinosaur era (150 million years old).

The garden is an ideal place to take children during a holiday. They get very excited seeing the ducks, turtles and all the plants from all over the world.

Lastly, about the mobility. There is a well designed path which are accessible by wheelchairs and strollers throughout the garden. Also, a cafe is situated right in the middle of the garden with many spectacular gazebos around. So, after a long walk, it is nice to have a cup of coffee and cake viewing the amazing flowers around.

Beautiful little gem to discover. Perfect for a sunny day, but the restaurant is also great. Expect some good tasty traditional food and beers. ;) Great for friends or family.
Simply amazing. One of Munich’s very special places. The tulips are coming to an end but we’re still resplendent yesterday. Seniors entrance fee = €4. We will go back and explore other areas of it. There is a nice restaurant in the middle. On a sunny weekend I would recommend getting there early. It is very convenient for us to get there by streetcar. Nice interactive area for kids to make paper. The people involved with this are doing a great job. Bravo !!
If you are going here by car - you must go right before they open in order to get a parking space. The parking that is there is pretty affordable but we initially came on a Saturday afternoon and they had shut all the lots down and there was no street parking for miles around. We came back the next morning and had no problem getting a spot.

With that hiccup and plan change out of the way, the rest of our experience was lovely. The exhibits are great. You can rent a wagon for €5 which saved us from having to use a stroller.

The food here is great and pretty affordable as well. The kids loved the petting zoo. There are lots of playgrounds around the park as well.
If you are nearby, it's worth passing by (at least on spring time). Doesn't have an interesting botanical collection, but pretty colourful flowers 💐
It's not a big park but decent enough for a good walk and quiet stroll after meals. Pets are allowed and there is a Neptune fountain at one corner of the park. There is also a cafe and restaurant in the center of the park. There are nice flowers blooming but it is not a very clean park and there are people sleeping there.

There is a story behind the dragon sculpture. It is something to do with the plague which was caused by the dragon and it was subsequently killed by brave citizens of Munich by fighting it and taking a shot by aiming at its heart.
Only had fries when we visited, so I can't really rate the food.
Location is beautiful especially the inner courtyard and the pond in front.
Staff is very friedly.
It is also possible to get drinks to take for a walk around the area by ordering at the stand up tables

A former hunting lodge for bavarian dukes in the 13th century. renovated through ages till date. surrounded by lake and trees with a river pass and wooden bridges. designed with towers at the corner and a pyramid roof gate. today consists of the old gothic sryle chapel, restaurant, museum to german writers and a club for friends of the castle. worth the visit if you are in the area and you finished visiting Nymphenburg Castle cause they were one connected with an axial road now covered with trees.

A good environment for the animals 🙏🏾
Loved it there, I saw a lot of animals that I never seen before, the atmosphere is nice and it was a sunny day, so everything was perfect.
The ticket costs 18 euros for adults, and it’s cheaper for kids ( i don’t know how much exactly)

The restaurants inside are somehow overpriced, so it’s better if you get something with you to drink or some snacks to eat.

After successfully arriving in Munich, I went to Marienplatz in Munich, which is known as the top ten squares in Europe. And how to put it, it's definitely a nice place to be, but it ticks in the top 10 boxes. Is it the mood of the square? Ha-ha-ha-ha, the clock tower next to the old town hall is very cute. There are 12 constellations on the clock face, although I think they still depict Cancer like Scorpio. This dragon statue is located in the corner of the new town hall and is a great piece of work. There are indeed sculptures and artworks in this building, the most eye-catching one is the dragon statue, this building, which has dozens of statues like this one with a great story, is a real work of art

I went there with a group of kids where we loved looking at all the old toys together. We also discovered how creative people were in the past and that we could learn from it. The historic building itself has 5 stories where you can mainly look at the toys through the glass windows. The views from the windows are not to be missed. Planned time for the excursion is between 60-90mins. Have fun!

This corner has come to be known as the “Wurmeck” or Dragon Corner. The dragon and the scenes above it represent a legend from the time of the Plague.

It was a quiet day on the Marienplatz. Men, women and children were milling about the square -- when suddenly a dragon appeared in the sky and spread the plague to the innocent people below. Panic resulted. People ran in every direction to escape the fate of those already dead on the ground. One brave guardsman knew the fierce dragon could only be slain with a direct shot to the heart. He took careful aim with his cannon. [Boom]. As the smoke cleared, the dragon could be seen lying motionless on the cobblestone. The horrible plague had been defeated

Crowded on the day of visit. weather was really nice and streets were clean.
The building around this area is very historical and dated back centuries however preservation and maintenance is really excellent.
A good place for photo op or selfie.
will go again if opportunity permits.

The fountain is located in Marienplatz close to the information center. It can be easy to miss if it's really busy.
The fountain does look quite interesting with people holding buckets around the side and a single fish on the top of the fountain. The buckets all have water trickling from them. The sides of the fountain has carvings on it. It was an interesting looking fountain.

A fearsome dragon clings to a corner of Munich's city hall. A great dragon lurks above pedestrians, poised as if ready to strike terror into all who pass below. But fear not: the metal beast commemorates a monster slain by the brave people of Munich.
Alter Botanischer Garten, or the old botanical gardens is now a park after the new Botanical Garden was built in Nymphenburg, in 1914. Since then it's been converted back into a park. As parks go, it's pleasant and well kept with a large cafe area in the centre of the park.

There's a nice fountain called the Neptune Fountain, on the south side of the park opposite the Munich Courts. The park is also close to Karlsplatz, but otherwise don't go out of the way or come here expecting to see botanical gardens.

Popular with the locals, especially in the summer.

The Wurmeck is a sculpture of a dragon located on the southwest corner of the New Town Hall of Munich. The story goes that the people of Munich began dying of the black death, when the dragon came. Eventually, the people of Munich were saved when an observant gunner killed the dragon by hitting it in it's heart with a cannon. Just above the dragon is a relief sculpture showing the people of Munich celebrating the end of the black death with the death of the dragon.

This Fischbrunnen is a fountain in the middle of Marienplatz called the Fish Fountain because of the sculpture of a fish atop a central column. The fish alludes to the past when the Marienplatz served as a market place and the fishmongers used to hang their still living goods in baskets in the fresh fountain water. Around the column is three young butchers apprentices pouring water into the basin of the fountain.

There's a tradition that on Ash Wednesday, the mayor and chamberlain of Munich will wash an empty wallet in the fountain to ensure that the city funds will be replenished again next year.

Great location (esp. In the snow). Mostly known for the wine festival, but also the restaurant schlossschanke offers good quality and is perfect for a Sunday afternoon combined with a walk around the area. They also offer dinner in the special castle environment.
Beautiful garden, very nicely managed. A visit is very educational and relaxing. You can take a book with you or just take a seat at one of the benches around the park, sit down, relax and enjoy the beautiful nature. One of my favorite spots in Munich.
