Rating would be 5 stars except they advertize a BBQ and patio area as an amenity but it hasn't been able to be used in almost 5 months

I don't live here but was going to apply. Thanks to everyone for the honest reviews. As a queer black person, I read 2 or more reviews stating accusations of misgendering, discrimination, it's going to be no.

We love living at the union. Staff and neighbors are all so friendly. We love the neighborhood being so close to downtown we have super high ceilings and love the design of the apartment.

The team who works here is nice and all but the company itself is going to squeeze every penny they can out of you. They charge even for the electricity in the hallways and elevator. And on move out they are going to expect you to white glove dust everything and paint even or they will charge you for it.

I loved living at The Cordelias! The location is amazing, with Trader Joe's, great restaurants, like those on 23rd, and Prince Coffee nearby, along with easy access to transportation like the NS streetcar and buses. Safety was never a worry in this neighborhood. The staff at The Cordelias were exceptional. Alex and Bryan from the office team were always there to help and answer any questions. The maintenance team also quickly fixed any issues. The gym, while small, had top-notch equipment like a Peloton bike, treadmill, and free weights. The community lounge was always clean and available. The apartments were spacious, clean, and felt like home. Whether you're a young professional, retired, or have a young family, I highly recommend The Cordelias. One memory stands out: When I moved out, I forgot a whole cabinet of coffee and tea. Bryan, one of the staff, was incredibly kind and saved it for me to pick up later. It's thoughtful acts like this that show the staff's care and attention to detail.

Dora is the best leasing agent ever! She's very helpful and informative. The apartments are beautiful and quiet. 10/10 recommend (:

I’ve been living here now since summer of 2022 and I couldn’t be happier with my experience. Dora, the leasing agent, has been incredibly delightful throughout the entirety of my living here. She really makes this place feel like home and brings the residents together to feel like a true community worth being a part of. Gustavo is also the most excellent groundskeeper and maintenance person. He is reliable and efficient, always keeping the building in tip top shape. If you’re looking for a 5-star living experience in Downtown Portland this is the building for you !

I’ve lived in this building for a little over two weeks and it’s definitely the nicest apartment I’ve ever rented. Waking up to a view of the sun rising over the city is unmatched. Really happy with how safe and secure the property feels which was a big concern for me. Major appreciation for Dora who made my move in process so quick and easy. She was happy to answer all of questions and communicate with me so consistently.

I love my studio so much! Amazing amenities, brand new appliances, and AC 😅 Dora the leasing agent was so amazing, she was so quick to respond to my inquiry. I got to see the place same day, put in an application, and in 24 hours had my brand new place. Can’t speak highly enough.

I absolutely love living here. Alex and Brian are extremely welcoming and easy to talk to. Thanh keeps the place immaculate. Every aspect of living here has exceeded my expectations.

I've lived at the Union for several months now and can't stress enough how great the leasing agents are, in particular Amanda. She's super kind, helpful, and knowledgeable. She made me feel right at home through the moving process.
Also, the amenities are great, the common areas are clean, and it's next to a max stop. The location is great for events and access to food and shopping.

Well maintained apartment building in the heart of downtown. High ceilings, large top to bottom windows, and nice common areas. Definitely check it out!

Alex and the team at The Cordelia were very polite and informative during my rental application process. Definitely made me feel comfortable with putting in my application and renting from them. Since then, I’ve been very happy with the facility and the care given to the tenants. Not to mention the continuous upgrades to the facility, especially the community room. The Cordelia is always clean and spotless (not to mention Thanh is so sweet) and the maintenance guys are always quick to respond to any request I put in. I feel happy living here and look forward
to coming home because the place feels like home!

I’ve been a resident at The Union since the beginning of 2022 and I can personally say that I have had a very pleasant experience in my time living here. It’s apartment life, so be realistic with expectations but the staff here keep the building itself, and the environment very pleasant.
Alexandra, the Assistant Manager has always been extremely helpful and displayed true professionalism that is backed by kindness.
If you’re interested in the Portland lifestyle but you don’t want to be across the water in the heart of it all, this might be a good home for you as it has been for me.

Living at Alta Peak has been a delightful experience. Dora especially has always gone out of her way to help the residents. She is not only really nice but also always been really patient with all my questions. She is very professional and always greets me with a very upbeat attitude.
I’ve had a great experience living here since last year and only have great things to say about the apartment and the staff at Alta Peak.

I'm coming up on my 2nd year at Alta Peak. Beyond the sheer comfort at this property, it is has its greatest appeal in its resident's service. 3-way safety, community engagement, rapid maintenance response, and the most personable agents- to list a few- seem to have solidified my experience here. Dora- at the front desk- is extremely helpful and resourceful in helping you navigate your new home. In addition to a bright "good morning" and "welcome home," everyday- she goes above and beyond in setting up community events and engages the residents on a more personal level- every resident's name is remembered. To say the least, living here has been one of my best decisions in Portland.

A nice place to live with good amenities including a nice gym and a rooftop deck and loft space perfect for work, and events. Maintenance request are answered promptly, sometimes even day of. The building staff is also very friendly, especially Dora at the front desk. The units are very spacious and have lots of windows.
The buildings location is very central which is great for convenient access to transit, food, timbers/ thorns games, bars and shopping nearby. I love being so close to the Max station which makes it super convenient to get downtown, to blazers games and the airport, or going west to Hoyt arboretum and Beaverton! I should note that downtown portland is struggling with houselessness, theft, and safety issues at the present moment. The building obviously has no control over these issues, but Alta Peak has its own security, protected parking, and I don’t ever feel unsafe inside.
There is also a lot of noise particularly from cars on burnside and ongoing construction nearby, which the building is pretty good at insulating, but I wouldn’t recommend leaving your windows open. This is still the nicest apartment I’ve ever lived in, has good management during the time I’ve lived here, and is much nicer than similarly priced units in the area.

Arts-focused modern apartment tower with fantastic amenities and a clear focus on community and diversity. Management maintains a consistent effort on quality of experience. I love living here, and would buy a unit if that were an option.

Excellent building management, great location, modern amenities.
Alex and Bryan are great building managers. They made it easy to select a unit 100% remotely and were very helpful with a holiday weekend move-in, even as a snowstorm derailed my plans. Alex is welcoming, extremely responsive to feedback, and continuously upgrading the building amenities. Bryan's friendly advice can be trusted for everything from picking a good sushi spot to picking out a new bicycle.
Northwest Portland has many apartment buildings, but I am very glad I picked this building.

Alta Art Tower is a great place to live. The amenities are great. I also love the events hosted by the building. The staff goes above and beyond to help you with whatever you may need. I especially like Lia. She is amazing! 10/10

First time I ever sent a review!! I am glad to give this review!! I have met some of the most genuine, authentic people!! People say hi, how are you, have a good day, how is your day/evening, even in the elevators!! There is always something to do right here in the building!! Admin is the most helpful they are always happy to answer any questions or help with anything!! And need I mention the aesthetics of the building!! My type of style!! Class A!!

Great care within the Art Tower! Not only are the staff caring and welcoming, but the atmosphere within this tower makes anybody feel at home in this warm community. Enjoy every moment here.

The leasing office was very friendly. They also host regular, family friendly events that are a lot of fun and helps to build a sense of community among the residents. In addition, there are some great amenities, including a 21st floor lounge with an amazing view.

I moved in just at the begining of October and so far it has been nothing but great. I've lived in quite a few apartment buildings around Portland, and this has already been my favorite building. It's extremely clean which is huge to me, the property management is friendly and very responsive, they've got a great gym and rooftop lounge with work areas, and it even smells great. It's hard to find an apartment building in Portland that doesn't have a funky smell, or constant weed aroma.
Lia was the agent who helped me move in, and she was fantastic to work with. The move in process was easy, they've got a great loading area for the trucks.
Overall I'm very happy with my choice.

I've been at Alta Peak for a month now and I'm genuinely thrilled with my decision to move here. Major props to Dora, the leasing agent who helped me throughout the process. Not only was she genuinely nice, but her knowledge about the property and every little detail made my move-in so smooth. She was super responsive to all my questions and made me feel right at home from day one.
I'm loving my new apartment! The gym is a huge perk, and I find myself spending quite a bit of time chilling in the clubhouse. All in all, a great community and even better service. If you're considering Alta Peak, ask for Dora. She's the best!

Yeah I hate this place. Literally rent from anyone else if you can. I only ended up here because I had nowhere else to go after being in a DV shelter.
Management does not return calls, ever and even though it says they're open until 5 you can guarantee everyone is gone by 3 or 4.
Maintenance when I first moved in was super disrespectful with my place and made a mess as well as trapped my cat's access to litter box. This is where our negative relationship began. I had to arrange it to where I need to be home when he comes by but he only works 4am to 3pm so I have to call out or go home on my lunch for anything.
You can only use a portable AC and you have to install it yourself. If you're higher up you are out of luck because these units hold in heat (only in summer not winter lol) and the heat rises. I'm currently not even able to live in my unit because they have to order a special screen for the window so I can't even put my AC in. I had to leave my apartment due to the heat. I'm looking into moving asap.
Avoid this property and landlord at all costs unless you want to pay so much more in stress and added costs due to incompetence and apathy. I can't even get access to my step mom's building as a caregiver. They won't talk to me or anyone not on the lease. I gave up and she just let's me in. Easier to put more pain on her than to get them to cooperate on a bare minimum level.
Update: finally got my screen in... took 2 weeks and I had to stay at my mom's during the heat wave. I should've just gone to home depot and done it myself

I’ve had a great experience living at the Cordelia Apartments so far! As a Portland local, I’ve lived in numerous different apartment communities and have dealt with some less than stellar property management companies, though I have been extremely pleased with the management at The Cordelia. The property managers Brian and Alex are the best! They’re extremely helpful and easy to talk to. Anytime I’ve had a question or need help with anything, they’re in the office and ready to help.
The apartments themselves are also very nice! In a great location and the building grounds are kept very clean. I’m very happy that I decided to live here. :)

Who rents out the area below an apartment complex to a bar and recording studio? A bunch of students have to pay thousands of dollars to live here and they can't even get a regular night of sleep?
Any ways the staff and maintenance are wonderful of course. Kudos to the people who actually keep this building running.

A resident was stabbed to death in the entryway trying to escape being robbed.People will have different opinions about the neighborhood. It is probably ok in the daytime if you are used to hardcore big city vibes and problems. The building was very nice when it was built. The building has above average wear and tear for its age. It is supposed to be non smoking however all of the buildings owned or managed through home forward have a difficult time enforcing this rule. Rooftop deck is nice. only 2 elevators for a pretty large building.

Thin walls, creepy old male residents, extremely unsafe, high theft throughout the building, high turnover with property management. Someone stole something from your front door? Good luck getting a response back about it. The coffee shop next door is convenient and friendly. Their rooftop patio is one of their biggest draws, but it is only open limited hours. Weird residents walk around the 2nd floor patio ang common area only in their underwear. Do you like a nice open window and a good breeze? Too bad the windows barely open. Planning ahead and want to move in in two months? They won't tell you anything available more than two weeks ahead of time. But the paperwork takes 4 weeks. So have fun being homeless while trying to get an apartment.

Gorgeous building and great location. The amenities are all new and high quality, plus very well kept. The apartments are all new and simple but modern, good sizes.

Geoffrey Colton the community manager has been amazing with my wife and I, he has explained everything, very direct friendly. My wife and I are moving from Massachusetts to Portland we have been looking for home for long term. I have gone through 8 different locations 8 different tours it was draining. We where going to settle with Nv, just talking Geoffrey Colton about the community and how he took time out his day to give us a virtual tour!! It was nice very friendly and did not sugarcoat anything. I have had the pleasure to work with Geoffrey Colton assistant Louie H Roa, very friendly straight shooters. My wife and I are extremely lucky that this community is opening doors and welcoming us to their community!! My wife and I love the vibes here down to earth.

Moved in about 8 months ago and love this place. Favorite apartment I’ve ever lived in across the United States. Never had issues with management, always very responsive. The apartments are quite sound proof, and the neighbors in the building are extremely respectful. Hate writing a review because I don’t want to mess up how great this place is!

The worst place ever. Management won't help with anything, car was broken into in the secured parking spot i paid money for and they didnt do anything. Leaks everywhere, houseless people sneaking into empty apartments. Would give negative stars if I could.

If you’re a vendor don’t work for them, they don’t pay. We did a resurface bathtubs 3 month ago still not pay for the work and they don’t respond me the emails

Recently moved in and am quite happy after the first month. Jennifer and team are very professional and accommodating. There was difficulty around my move-in access, but the recovery from it was handled beautifully by Jennifer. The building in incredibly well-maintained by very obviously committed staff. So far, very good. Wm K. Update: After 3 mos. here, I want to recognize the quality of the upkeep of the property, in large part due to Thanh... he is a tireless worker obviously committed to excellence. He is respectful, kind, accommodating, and perpetually pleasant. His attention to all the details of keeping the building spotlessly clean and fresh is remarkable. Another reason to appreciate The Cordelia. One-year update: happy to report that nothing has changed, and that’s so good! A quality, well-run place to live. It was a great choice among the many in the area.

Moved in there in 2013. The building & management were great!
Pluses were: Comfortable, soundproof units with great amenities. Dishwasher, heater, high ceilings with fans, windows that open fully,
Roof top terrace is amazing!
The location is in the heart of downtown, perfectly centralized to all public transit, & walking distance to so many businesses.
Laundry room has it’s issue’s, but it’s nice to be able to do multiple loads all at once, instead of having to do individual loads multiple times a week. And it’s great having the rooftop laundry room.
Rob’s bistro connected to the building is amazing! And Rob is the coolest guy you’d ever meet.
I don’t know what management is like now? but when I was there, the on-site management was terrific!
Diverse group of residents, and almost everyone I met there were polite & friendly.
Controlled access & onsite parking. But I don’t drive, so I don’t know how expensive the parking spaces are?
The problems are outside the building, and are pretty much a “city-wide” plague. The neighborhood (like the city) got a little worse each year. The tents get bigger & are always multiplying. Somebody is always outside screaming at themselves. Crime got worse, but in the 7 years I was there, I heard only a couple of gunshots.
Old Town isn’t a war zone or crime-ridden ghetto. So if you keep to yourself & have basic common sense, you’ll be able to avoid the sketchy spots.
All things considered, you definitely get your money’s worth with the building. And it’ll be that much better, if the city ever cleans up the sidewalks.

Been living here for 2.5 years now and it has gone pretty downhill. We're on the third building manager in three years, to begin with. The recycling and trash is always a mess. Management and maintenance is hard to get ahold of. They're guilty of the stereotypical "slap on some paint and it's ready for a new occupant" issue. My neighbor recently had their apartment flood. Woke up this morning to half of my kitchen outlets not working. Things leak and break all the time, there are ants, and in the past few months the parking area has been broken into multiple times and stuff has been stolen out of our locked car each time. That being said, the apartments at least look nice (when you first move in) and have large windows and are spacious. I have a love/hate relationship with this place for sure. The location is pretty nice as well, as is the view. Probably fine for a short term stay, but I'll probably look into moving out before long if I can.
Edit: Just removed another star. The trash situation is getting out of hand. Went down to take out trash yesterday to find trash bags littered all over the parking area and wasn't even able to get to the dumpster. Called management, no answer. Emailed through the site and got an automated response from an address of someone that I know hasn't owned the building in years. Don't rent here.

there are rats... they don't let you sleep all night… smells like pupu and pipi

Cleaned and emptied apartment before we left to my utmost ability. A week or so later got a phone call asking for our new address so they could send us our remaining deposit. Turned out to be a bait and switch because a week or so after that we got a strange phone call claiming we owed them money and it would be sent to collections. Have a video of the clean apartment after we left. Has yet to provide us with any exit paper work or an itemized list of any repairs that needed done. Continues to ignore our phone calls and voicemails. Very disappointed with this company, will be seeking legal aid.

I have lived in this building for nearly a year. Moving in was like a dream come true as it's a city-scape high rise. The view is beautiful and the apartment itself is very nice, but there are a lot of problems once you're in and living here that does not make the cost of living worth it.
It literally pains me to write this review as I wish it was very different living here and I want it to be different. I don't even want to write this but I feel nothing will change at this time and want to warn others before they pay extremely high rental fees to live somewhere like this. These issues have worsened with new staff.
-There are elevator issues constantly. Whether it's that an elevator is down, or that there is pet urine in the elevator, or even blood. Upon reporting blood to the building staff so the biohazard could be cleaned (during a pandemic, no less) the complaint was not taken seriously and the spill was not cleaned. In fact, staff argued it was not blood. Myself and another tenant put on gloves and got cleaning supplies and cleaned the spill ourselves after waiting for hours.

-Parking is EXTREMELY expensive. Said parking is not secure and cars will get broken into. Said parking has issues with it's gate amongst other problems. Not only is this a tenant garage, but it is also a public garage. You can come home and there will be no space in the garage you pay for and there is nothing you can do about it. There are times you will try to leave but you will be stuck as the gate isn't working, the staff member is gone, and the machine to use to call for help doesn't work well. By the way, you're in a garage under ground, good luck getting your cell phone to work. I have gotten stuck in the garage at least 3 times since living here, and gotten stuck without the ability to get in twice.
-The washing machine unit in my apartment has torn my clothes on multiple occasions. Yes, they are washing machine safe clothing not dry clean only garments. Despite NEVER having issues EVER washing my clothes before (even with machines overseas), the maintenance staff said it was my fault. I now pay to have a lot of my clothes dry cleaned to avoid this after multiple garments have been utterly destroyed and even a master seamtress can't fix them. I asked if I could purchase my own washer and dryer unit while here under the understanding I would have to maintain it myself if there were ever issues, to which I was told no.
-This is a "pet friendly" building, but it isn't really. There is no where for pets to go to easily relieve themselves within the building like a pet deck or pet balcony as other buildings in the area have. This would be nice for tenants and their pets especially when the weather is awful and add neighborly engagement.
-There are no community events and community life is lacking. This is the #1 job of the staff in the building, but they're not really even interested in greeting the tenants. The staff here really are not friendly and instead of even exchanging pleasantries, they'll instead correct you about something. My dog was off leash walking beside me and sat next to my leg as we awaited the elevator not creating any issue, and the staff began chewing me out about it despite it being quite early and no one at all was in the lobby at this time. It was a non-issue. Surely there is a better way to foster a relationship and go about correcting.
-The community space is nothing to be impressed by if you can even get in. This space is absolutely wasted and the amenities within are non-functioning.
-Lack of staffing to help when there are emergencies in the building. 911 arrived and could not get in one night.
-Tenants have asked for simple changes and are given poor excuses as to why they can't be done: a recycle bin next to the mail area to make tossing spam mail easier, an Amazon HUB for packages so we can come any time of day rather than wait for staff to get your package out of the package room (especially difficult during Christmas), or a pet cleaning station.

Lived here 8 months, management has been super accommodating with my family having our first child born while living there. The pandemic has screwed a lot of lives up, but the new property manager Josue generally tries to help tenants facing eviction. And I enjoy that it's a secured building. Kinda wish the garage was still broken, it was like a private entrance. The only negative is the gunshots that are becoming more frequent around there. But great place. Can't hear neighbors or anything, and always fun flyer reminders on the elevator. I'm glad The yards didn't approve my application. The towers are infinitely superior. Thanks!

I've lived here 8 years; it was "front of the class" handsome, clean well managed. The apartment excellent, vertical neighborhood with good will. The neighborhood always on edge but manageable. Not so much now, the neighborhood is dangerous the trash disheartening.
The Tower maintenance neglect best summarizes it. Ownership & management it appears does not care to care (pandemic excuse perhaps): no tree replacement, carpets are filthy and the laundry rooms well you have to clean the machines before you do laundry.
Handicap & Seniors good luck cleaning the windows, blinds and ceiling fan (no air conditioning).
Hoping this truthful evaluation does not get me evicted.
Sincerely,
70 year old man on social security

I've lived at The Cordelia for multiple years now, and would highly recommend this place to anyone looking for an apartment in the area. A big part of the recommendation stems from the wonderful team that manages the building. I've had nothing but positive experiences with Jennifer and Ashley in the leasing office, who have always taken the time to answer any questions I have had, and have always responded within an extremely timely manner. The maintenance manager, Curtis, is very friendly and has always provided A+ service with any issues I've run into. They've all made The Cordelia a welcoming home, and I'm thankful that this team is running the show here!
On top of this, the location of The Cordelia is great as it's close to nearby 21st and 23rd Ave, which house plenty of coffee shops, restaurants, stores, etc., and the building is nearby a lot of different modes of public transportation in the area. The units themselves are nice, and come with various amenities (as listed on their website). I've been very pleased with how quiet the building is, as (aside from the occasional footsteps from an upstairs neighbor) I have never heard any noises from my neighbors when in my apartment.

From the amazing staff to the beautiful experience of living downtown in luxury, the PAW is the place to be. Ever just sat in your living room and watched Portland’s living room, while the world goes by? That’s possible when you live here. Highly recommend, highly grateful for the experience and loving every minute of it.

Visited a friend here today for the first time this weekend.. I've gone past this place a bunch (as has any Portlander who rides MAX) but now that I've gotten a look around inside it's very nice!
Most people think the location is the only selling point (it gets brought up too much) but even if this place was very far away and had no Transit access, I would still think it was a nice building!

Very surprised. The staff is very helpful and friendly. Moving into this place my expectations were high, however the building itself continues to let me down. Elevators keep breaking, there’s one common area that’s mostly always reserved and the trash shoots don’t always work. Leasing staff is amazing, but I miss my old building. This place is overpriced for what you get as a resident. If you work in the building there is a locker room area, but this is not extended to residents ... huge let down here. I suggest somewhere with more amenities.

I've been there six months or so. The issues within the building are minimal. Maintenance is good. Apartments are clean. A lot of weed smell in elevators but not much smoking in the building going on. There is a combination of young students, three job millennials, elderly and disabled in the building and most everyone is friendly. Biggest issue is that Olde Town is a dangerous place. We hear gunshots frequently, lots of drug deals, club scene on the weekends, sidewalk homeless camps, and those sleeping in doorways and cars, screaming. To avoid noise, window has to stay shut. The apartments are pretty much sound proofed although the trains from Union station will drive you nuts when they lay on the horns. Best thing about the neighborhood is the Taco truck. Best thing about Pacific Towers is the rent and the quiet apartments.

The Union is phenomenal.
Conveniently located almost directly on top of the most commonly traveled MAX lines in the city, it's a commuter's dream. The building is clean, carefully attended, and staffed with some of the most helpful and attentive folks an apartment resident could ask for. At first glance the pricing looks on par for the area, but when you consider the convenience of the location and see the quality of the units, it's almost too good to be true.
I get up every morning, go down three floors to the gym, come back up and watch the sun rise through floor-to-ceiling windows, and walk 90 seconds out the door to take the MAX to PSU. I couldn't ask for a better place to live; grateful every day here.

WOW, My husband and I were living at the Goose Hollow apartments for a year and we really appreciated the time we were living there. It is close to the Max, streetcars, buses, and all at a very affordable price. The manager Courtney Kyle very attentive and quickly fixes issues around the apartments. She kept the place clean and is flexible when working with tenants resolving issues. I love her attitude, and she made me feel very comfortable living there. We LOVE THE PLACE AND THE MANAGEMENT, and recommend it a heart beat.

Too bad

I've lived at PAW for over a year, being the first ever tenant in my apartment. I have to say, for downtown living, you'd have a difficult time finding a better locale to live. The people who live here are very diverse, and are wonderful and friendly. the Leasing group is also very sweet, and treat you like family. the Concierge is remarkably resourceful and very knowledgeable about Portland. My one concern is very small - and that is the building owners are sometimes stringent on access to the business center on the 3rd floor, and that is because it is an amazing facility! again this is a small detail. Downtown Portland has its' perks and concerns, which have nothing to do with the building, but seriously you get to live in a beautiful spot, with the best view in Portland, and the best accessibility in Portland. you'd be lucky to live here, as i consider myself to be!

Fun place to live, the management team is very proactive and fun to interact with. The building is close to public transportation, restaurants, shopping, and has great views.
Easy access to freeways, highways, and practically 20 minutes away from anywhere in the metro area
A few of down sides are the parking garage under the building, its tight and people dont pay attention; the short term rental apartments, they can't all be classy people.

A close friend lived here for 3 years while completing studies at PSU. Very nice building; a mix of young professionals/quiet students/pensioners. Excellent management - very professional and njce.

Pros: Location really is very central, within walking distance to pretty much everything that you would like to see in Portland, plus a park with daily food trucks with heaps of choices almost on the doorstep. Also very dangerous is the fact that Nordstrom is just behind the apartment building! The apartment is well maintained and very comfortable, with two large bedrooms and an open plan living area. Good view of the square just across the road from the living room, and public transport is almost on the doorstep.
Cons: The check in process was a bit unclear--yes they do send out an instructions pack, but it didn't quite happen according to the email; I had to walk straight in and speak to the ?security/receptionist people with regards to getting the keys. Signage of the building was also quite ... discreet.
However, this is a reasonably priced, centrally located, well furnished and maintained apartment, and if you were travelling as a family or in a group, this is absolutely a place you should consider.

Edit: This review was written prior to the the building of the Hyatt or recent uptick in crime, so take this with the smallest, oldest grain of salt
The most convenient apartment probably...ever. Three different max lines run in front of the place. Walk a couple blocks and you're at the yellow line. I spend a lot of time at the convention center so this location is top.
Best. View. Ever. I have a unit facing downtown Portland and it's incredible. I seriously doubt there is another 1BR with this view and amenities for this price, anywhere.
Parking is nice if you have a space in the garage. If you don't, parking is pretty much impossible during Blazer games or conventions. Get a space if you drive.
Pretty secure building. Almost too secure because I have to walk downstairs to let guests into the elevator to come up to my apartment. This is my only real complaint. It's better than anyone being able to tailgate though.
The hallways get a bit noisy; you can hear what people are saying or listening to inside of their apartments when you're walking down the hallway. Surprisingly quiet once you're in your own unit though. Road noise from I-5 is more like a white noise and you barely notice. However, the occasional noise from Blazer fans, sirens, MAX isn't dampened well. You learn to get used to it though.
Office staff is top notch and repairs are snappy.

Noah and team made our living experience at Art House incredible. The location allowed for a central place to explore Portland and the building was new, functional and convenient. My friends and I felt very lucky to have landed in Art House!

Don't stay here. I had a 1BR for the summer. It was a bad experience. The leasing office is not even in the same building. It is about 10 blocks away. The staff is so difficult to get a hold of. If you need to talk about your contract, they say they'll get back to you, but they hardly ever do. And, if you do get in touch with someone, don't expect good customer service unless you speak to a manager. It also took over 3 weeks to get my TV fixed and to get the trash compactor replaced. Stay at the LADD complex a block away instead.

Great place. Just renewed my lease. I have a solarium overlooking the park blocks that is just beautiful and keeps the place warm. Reasonable rent. Small number of apartments in the building, nice neighborhood.
