When looking for a place to eat in a new town it's advisable to choose a place that's busy, it's also wise to consider looking for a place where the staff look and sound happy while working as well as working with ease and efficiency. Well I chose both in a little place called Hard Coffee in Tedder ave gold Coast. Two mornings in a row. Can not fault it. Yes, when it's busy there will be a wait, (like anywhere) trust me, it's worth it. I'll be back 🙂

Went to this cafe to enjoy a nice breakfast. All the food options sounded so unappealing. We decided to head to the Bakery next door, and all still get a coffee from this cafe. Once we came back, we were rudely told that we can’t have food from the bakery at this cafe, as it was bad for the business. It was in a brown paper bag, god forbid! Despite being paying customers, we were asked to leave. Entitlement at its finest. It’s amazing how the staff can have such an attitude considering how bad their service and food is!
Ah, where do I even begin to express my adoration for this place? Thyme Cafe has captured my heart in more ways than one – from its inviting atmosphere to its warm and welcoming staff, and of course, the mouthwatering food that keeps me coming back for more. My partner and I have made it a ritual to visit twice a week for breakfast, and each time we arrive, we're greeted like old friends returning home.

First, let's talk about the atmosphere. There's a certain charm about Thyme Cafe that instantly puts you at ease. The cozy interior, adorned with rustic decor and soft lighting, creates the perfect backdrop for a leisurely morning meal. It's the kind of place where you can linger over your coffee, get lost in conversation, or simply soak up the tranquil ambiance.

And then there are the people – the heart and soul of this beloved cafe. The staff here are more than just servers; they're genuine, friendly faces who go above and beyond to make every visit memorable. From the moment we walk in, we're greeted with warm smiles and cheerful greetings, as if we're part of the family. And let's not forget about the visiting puppy dogs of the day! It's a delightful surprise to see furry companions lounging around, adding an extra layer of joy to our breakfast outings.

But perhaps the crowning glory of Thyme Café is the food. Oh, the food! It's nothing short of a culinary masterpiece, with each dish crafted to perfection using the freshest, highest quality ingredients. Whether we're craving fluffy pancakes drizzled with syrup, hearty omelettes bursting with savoury fillings, crispy bacon piled high on buttery toast with eggs, or my husband's favourite the delicious, overflowing granola jar, Thyme Café never fails to deliver. And paired with a steaming cup of freshly brewed coffee, it's a breakfast experience that leaves us feeling nourished and content.

In essence, Thyme Café isn't just a place to eat; it's a sanctuary, a haven where good food, good company, and good vibes come together in perfect harmony. It's a place where memories are made and moments are cherished, and for that, we'll keep coming back time and Thyme again.

The biscottini are made fresh daily that come gratuitous with a coffee. The quality of food at Thyme stems from the owners ethos of farm fresh food that is generously served with pride. Meals are always honest in portions and extremely satisfying in taste. We are never tempted to go elsewhere.

Great atmosphere for dog lovers, I myself did not like the smell but everything else was great, very friendly and helpful staff, yummy foods and fresh pressed juice.

All in all, it wasn't that bad. The meal was nice and the service was good. However, I blame the high humidity on the day for the small stale cookie.

We really wanted to like this place… it had such positive reviews. Our wait time for food was about an hour. The table next to us left, as they waited over an hour for food which never arrived. Other tables also seemed to be looking around at the staff, wondering where their orders were. Cappuccinos took 20 mins to arrive, then were mediocre. The staff were nice, but there was seemingly no organization so we also waited a while for someone to finally take our order and bring waters (after being flagged down). Food arrived and my order was wrong, they remade it quickly. We ordered breakfast items and they were average at best (though presentation was quite nice). Upon checkout, they asked “how was everything”, and I kindly replied “honestly, it was very slow and the food was only o…k… once it arrived”… a reply I’ve never had the courage to say. My answer was brushed over with no acknowledgment. Unfortunately, we feel like we wasted a ‘good meal’ opportunity by selecting Thyme :(

This is a long overdue review. We had brunch here on a busy morning on the 4th January.
All tables were taken, but we were lucky enough to grab one when someone left. We sat outside and even though it was hot, the overhead trees and umbrellas were welcome shade.
I had seasonal fruit salad and my partner had oat banana pancakes.
The food and coffees were very good. Great tastes for both meals.
Staff were friendly and the atmosphere was very pleasant.
We will definitely be back. It was worth the drive from Cleveland.

Delicious! Every time we passed on our trip, this restaurant was packed which made us want to visit as we were clearly missing something! There is vast seating, is dog friendly, the staff were lovely and chatty, the menu has a huge choice and I can personally recommend the Eggs Benedict with Salmon. Incredible. Will definitely visit again when we're back in the GC.
Very sweet atmosphere with nostalgic music and Parisian decor. The food is top notch and the coffee is a tribute to the wonderful Gold Coast culture of great coffee! Will be back again! My only suggestion for improvement would be staying a bit more authentic to the ‘French’ theming- correcting the French mistakes on the menu and perhaps a Bonjour greeting would be a nice touch! If one wishes to profit from the French theme and the attraction it brings, one should attempt to uphold it respectfully by at least having accurate French text and the French idea of table service. It’s always a bit of a slap in the face to pay $24 for breakfast and have to order at the counter.
Our favorite cafe.
It's the first time to try a savoury crape. It's so good.
Staff very friendly.

All the dishes we had are beautiful especially the scramble eggs. Good combination for the cinnamon pankage with nuts, strawberry and vanilla icecream. Just a little bit sweet. The staff are really helpful and the service is excellent.
Do yourself a favour and visit The Local on Main Tedder Ave. This gorgeous cafe has left my family & I with the best impression!
It’s the cutest little spot with delicious food. The staff are very friendly & welcoming. The breakfast menu is impressive & our meals did not disappoint! “The Fresh Start” and “Eggs Benedict” were both amazing! The Waffles with Maple Syrup & Ice Cream were a huge hit with our kids. Also their coffee is to die for & freshly pressed juice so satisfying and healthy. We will definitely be returning!
Excellent Restaurant. Brilliant Customer Service. Friendly and very fast. The food was flavourful and filling. We had a late breakfast and then went back for cocktails and dessert. GREAT Atmosphere.
Recommend the salmon omelette and mushroom crepe and french desserts.

We had a short walk to the outside of the V8 Supercar precinct to Tedders Avenue in Main Beach for a beautiful lunch at Hot Shotts.

Service was quick and super friendly and all our lunch meals delicious. A great place to go if you are visiting the V8 races.

I had the Chook Ceaser Salad Burger and my wife had the smoked trout.

I recently visited a Hot Shott in Main Beach and had the chance to try their Acai Bowl, Serious Burger, and Olla Caliente. The food was absolutely lovely – each dish was packed with flavor and made with care.

What really stood out, apart from the delicious food, was the amazing staff. They were friendly, attentive, and truly made the dining experience enjoyable.

However, I must note that the cafe was a little bit crowded, which made it a bit noisy and hectic. If you don't mind a lively atmosphere, it's a great place to enjoy good food and service. Overall, it's definitely worth a visit for the tasty offerings and the warm, welcoming staff.
It's worth being there for the atmosphere, and the food was normal good. Nothing extravagant. Juices are really good. However, it's 2023 guys... AND you are in High End shops... and you still have toxic table salt. 🤦‍♀️ Himalayan salt or sea salt is not even expensive nowadays. Need to up your game.

Finally we came to this well known cafe in Main Beach for lunch. It was very busy. Food came fast but the taste was a bit average. It had the plastic curtain down on a warm day so we politely asked a staff member to open it up. The look on the staff's face was difficult. Not sure why. In the end we left the curtain as is and just finished our food asap and left. Overall to me this place was overrated. Bye!
From my experience. The Food was below average. My burger bun was dry and served with a half a Schnitzel. Lettuce were not fresh. Drinks came way too late.

Delicious 🤤

Calamari salad was very good, good seasoning, calamari cooked perfectly, salad fresh👍

Beef bourguignon with roast potatoes, excellent!

Turkish chicken avocado cheese toasted sandwich👏, the chef has sprinkled some sesame on the bread, brought out good flavor, such a warm touch👍👍👍

Relax atmosphere, lovely peoples, good food. Reasonable price. Happy meal🥧

Highly recommended 👍👍👍👍👍
Dined here as part of a package whilst saying at the hotel. Whilst we enjoyed our meal unless you’re really into seafood I wouldn’t dine here.
My husband tucked into a lot of prawns - they were firm and sweet and he had several helpings and peeled me a few too.
He also enjoyed the sand crab and Alaskan crab, but it was hard work - very fiddly.
Unfortunately the bugs were tasteless and mushy.
I had some of the oysters mornay and kilpatrick and yes they were very small but the toppings were tasty.
There was a fellow standing at a long table who was mainly unoccupied the whole time we were there so my husband asked what he did and he cooked him a chicken skewer which was delicious.
Some of the cakes were lovely and the waitress made us a coffee which was nice as otherwise it was a help yourself coffee machine.
The wine list was extremely limited, I was surprised actually. So we didn’t drink much.
It’s in the same room as the buffet breakfast, so not too fancy and had the feel of a large cafeteria.

The selection of food is adequate, we were expecting more options available at this buffet.
The food itself was satisfactory, the seafood being the saving grace
The staff were not readily available and would only come over to the table on occasion
The environment is nice and inviting
Held a baby shower there. Staff went above and beyond to accommodate and allowed us to bring in decorations, cupcakes and cookies etc food was delicious and was very surprised how fast it came out considering they were busy. The scenery and atmosphere is beautiful. Couldn’t fault and we will be back. Thanks again!!!

Food was fresh and plentiful but the service was very poor. Had to ask for finger bowls twice before we got them, had to chase down a waiter to order drinks, table water was never refilled and no soap in the woman's toilets which is concerning when eating at a buffet. Definitely not the standard you would expect here.

Attended for breakfast & selected the buffet. Lovely table by the window overlooking the pool.
Short walk to the buffet & a good range of dishes but nothing special. Nice to have ice-cream available with pancakes. Self-service coffee machine that produced nice coffee - full or lite milk.
A little odd & inconvenient to pay your bill after you had eaten at a buffet.

Service was quick. Food was okay & prices were average. The place is tucked around the corner, so you miss out on any water views. Worth a visit.
We had a great experience here today. The cafe itself is really cute, it has a nice atmosphere. The service was excellent, very speedy. The food was delicious (we shared the French toast and BLT baguette), and there is still so much on the menu we want to try. Can’t wait to come back!

An excellent buffet restaurant at the iconic Sheraton Grand Mirage Hold Coast, it serves breakfast and dinner buffets every day.

The restaurant with double height floor to ceiling windows overlooks the beautiful lagoons of the resort and is located just under the hotel lobby.

Highly recommended for its seafood 🦞 selection
1st visit for me. I have organised our work end of year event at the restaurant in December and thought I’d take my partner to check it out. From the moment we walked in we were looked after. The team were all friendly and took us to our table which over looked the pool (beautiful) The food was amazing as was the service. I’ve booked a table for next Sunday so I can share how much I loved the restaurant with my daughter. . We were also lucky enough to meet Desmond Brook on our way out who talked us through his vision and design of the resort. Looking forward to coming back next weekend.
Popped in lunchtime today for a Chicken Turkish Sandwich and chicken wings. Bloody fantastic. In Gold Coast for a few more days so hope to get back there before we leave. You must try the milkshake.
Beautiful atmosphere, fantastic service and delicious food! Lovely coffee and pretty little spaces to dine, catch up with friends, meet for a drink or just soak up the vibe of Tedder Ave. Highly recommend!
The staff are very friendly, and accomodating to your needs. The croissants are airy, crisp and buttery. We got the mushroom crepe, it was seasoned and sauteed. The French toast was a baguette with whipped cream, ice cream, bananas and strawberries, drizzled in syrup. I would recommend the crepes for a more French experience with a cappuccino.

Had the battered Barramundi and chips that cost $28.50 each. I don't mind paying that much if you get value but the serve portions were an absolute joke. The smallest fillets of fish I've ever seen and a grand today of 12 chips!!
Very warm and friendly atmosphere with a wide range of meal options to choose from.
Plenty to eat during the duration of our stay.

Beautiful cafe. I have been multiple times but never been inside or out the back . wow the decor is amazing. Food was delicious, service was great and the owner who was sitting a couple of seats over was so kind and lovely to her staff members. My partner even handed in a resume because the owner Kathy was so lovely. We will definitely be back. Also the price of the food was reasonable. Under $40 for two coffees and 3 breakfasts. Yummo ❤️ I felt like I could sit here all day long and eat brekky and lunch and relax. Can't wait to return.

Lunch selection wasn’t great. Not worth the money at all. More salads and platter items than anything else. I have worked at buffets double this size for $25 lunches. Wouldn’t recommend unless your going to eat tones of prawns, oysters and empty crabs. Had to keep asking to get our table cleared multiple times throughout. Chef was great at explaining the buffet and what is gluten free. But honestly they can save the time by labelling the items. Didn’t get sick but saw multiple people swapping and putting tongs in the wrong spot.
We were pleasantly surprised by the great quality of drinks and cake which we ordered. The mocha frappe was beautiful, no added sugar, just mocha with crushed ice. The summer sling juice was freshly pressed and refreshing. The coconut and lemon pie tasted divine! Would highly recommend it!

Waffles were hard couldn’t even get my knife through them, hot buffet food was tasteless and not much choice, pork sausages, bacon, beans, scrambled eggs. Could have eggs made up but the Que was pretty long. Could order barista coffee to the table again long waits. Basic budget food all round. Coffee machine had a full tray couldn’t use then when it was emptied the milk was out didn’t get topped up for a while, ending up having black coffee, at $32 per adult I would expect more choice and better tasting food.

One of the best cafes you can find along Tedder avenue. I loved the Parisian vibes.

Their baguette was fresh and crispy, and toasted perfectly with generous amount of butter. I ordered a simple scrambled eggs and they turned out soft and fluff, a nice pairing with baguette.

Lovely coffee they have along with hospitable service crew.

Limited parallel parking along Tedder Avenue.

Fantastic breakfast. The Sautéed field mushys were a stand-out dish for me, and I am hard to please. If you like mushrooms, give it a go. The expresso coffee was good, just slightly acidic. The sausages were great too.
Friendly staff and very quick to keep the table clear of dirty dishes. Highly recommend.
This is a pleasant and busy restaurant in a very quiet mall. The food was pretty good. My kids had the chicken burger and the chicken pasta and they both raved. I had the prawn and avocado salad. While the prawns were fresh and delicious I would have appreciated more of them for the price tag. All up, a good meal.

Update: came back again for breakfast this morning. Good stuff.

The meals were delish, and the staff were amazingly beautiful. We got to try their 2-course a la carte menu, and we will definitely go for the buffet next time.
Awesome Buffet Style Restaurant Located Within Sea World Resort Main Beach.

Fabulous Range of Food Options Including Seafood, Asian, Carvery, Pasta, Salads & Desserts.

Lots of Helpful Staff on Hand to Clear up Used Plates, Bowls etc.

Great Live Music as Well.
The location is nice and the service was friendly. I had the Prawn and Avocado Salad. I'm thankful for the slice of lemon included as a dressing because I found the salad to be mild in terms of flavour, I could see what resembled a extremely small amount of feta but unfortunately I couldn't taste it?? The ingredients did seem fresh. Presentation ok..

Hard Coffee is located at Tedder Avenue.
It is a beautiful street with cafes and restaurants which near to the Main Beach (few minutes walk).

We love the outdoor spaces and seating area. Lovely breakfast with amazing tomato relish (yummy). Coffee is excellent too.

What did we order:

Breakfast:
•Hard’s Big Breakfast
•Free Range Egg (tomato relish-yummy)

Drinks:
•Short Black
•Long Black
•Short Mac
It was recommended by a chef from my workplace, and it did not disappoint! The buffet was so worth every cent. It has a good selection of really fresh seafood. I was expecting them to have lobsters, but they only have bugs and crayfish. The oysters Kilpatrick served were mouthwatering. I loved the tiramisu on the dessert bar; it was rich and creamy.
Great food hence the 2 stars… the blonde haired girl, red haired man were great and offered friendly service.
Now the young man with a mullet he was
1. Rude.
2. Not professional and lacked basic customer service skills a McDonald’s employee would even have.
Alone this would of been fine but my food “a warm pesto chicken salad” took almost an hour to arrive to the table! I had to find a staff member to ask if it had been forgotten.
Once again I want to thank the man with red hair for being kind and offering a free drink as I wait for my meal.

Not Paying $45 for a (cold) warm chicken salad and smoothie again from here

Casual lunch with friends today and was oh so pleasantly surprised to discover what seems like a secret outdoor dining area.

Small lunch menu but The Local does offer an all day breakfast, which is always great!

Food was served relatively quickly and all three of us ate everything on our plates.

Cute little venue on Tedder Ave, wouldn’t mind going back and checking out breakfast.
What a great buffet! So many choices of seafood and meat. Pasta dishes as well as soup. Lots of delicious desserts to choose from. The service is simple and to the point. Go up and fill your plate and they will clear it for you after you then go up and refill a new dish. Alcoholic drinks are extra but coffee and soft drinks are included. 👍😎
Would have rated 5 star if they had more varieties. Friendly stuff and nice atmosphere. Strawberry ball is my favourite dessert. (Last photo bottom left)
Service was very poor, we were 6 adults and 4 kids with reservation. But we were separated into 2 tables, and had been told could not joint the table together. We have checked the 2 and 3 years are free and the 7years old half price.

Food is ok,tablewear and cutlery are neat.

When we finished and pay, they refused to separate as 3 families, so we have to paid in full by one person. (this is a buffet, what if we cannot afford by one person)On the way home, my friend had looked the receipt, they even charged 4 kids (3 of them only 2 and 3 years)2extra bottles of wine charged.

We were far beyond unsatisfied, so went back and asked the refund for overcharge, also checked with why they cannot separate pays but given a group of people 2 tables far from each other, the manager was apologized and refunded the overcharges, also confirmed the table can be joint and pay separate payments are fine.

Very bad first impression,a year later, my families arrived with reservation, but been told there was no table for them.

Never go again and do not recommend.

Amazing food and great service!

We ordered Chicken and Fish of the day from their a la carte menu, and both the dishes were just amazing. The chicken was so tender and scrumptious, the mushroom sauce was a cracker and complemented the chicken very well. Salmon was also cooked to the perfection.

We also ordered some baked potatoes on the side, and they were quite delicious too.

Glad we didn't order any entree as the mains was very filling.

Loved the Italian interiors all cross the restaurant and hotel.

Had the buffet experience with my partner for his birthday. Arrived on time and was almost first to the foods. Wasn't bad is a big spread for Aussie level but compared to Singapore level definitely much less. But still good. Partner had the raw oysters but said it want the best but still good. Love the desserts hence there were so many options hence my only photos were of the dessert. They also prepared a little cake for my partner which was lovely!
Despite the Main Beach location, this cute cafe is very fairly priced. Love that both their breakfast *and* lunch menus are all day. We went with the smashed avo on toast (with feta) plus a side of halloumi and the big brekkie.

Took a little bit to come out considering the place was very quiet but the staff were friendly and attentive and the atmosphere is nice so we weren't too bothered. Overall, the food was delicious. Only criticism would be that the poached eggs were a bit under cooked and we both found it challenging to eat from their choice of crockery (not easy to cut through chunky toast in a bowl!)

Definitely worth a visit if you're passing by.

Taste: ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️/5
Value for money: 💰💰💰💰💰/5
Customer service: ❤️❤️❤️❤️/5
Atmosphere: 😍😍😍😍😍/5

Will visit again: ✅
Service was great, drinks were pretty slow to come out.
I wouldn’t even call it a buffet, is a choice 6 salads, and about the same amount for desserts and that’s it.
We ordered the seafood platter for two which included the so called buffet. The small pieces of fish were amazing, the bugs were a little chewy but full of flavour. The prawns were fresh, the squid was dry and chewy and the crabs weren’t even cleaned before frying.
The platter boasts of coming with radicchio which was charred to a bitter mess, the bread served with was flavoursome but dry charred and the potato gratin was two little stacks of no flavour.
Would not recommend for a date night either as it is all families.

However I believe the food definitely wasn't worth the price you're paying.

Firstly, the portions weren't too great.
My Striploin was ordered medium rare and some parts were definitely more on the rare side.

The dessert however was great and others that had the tiramisu loved it.
Myself and my wife had the privilege of dining here for dinner on our recent stay at Seaworld Resort. We did make a booking, and the staff were extremely helpful on our arrival at the restaurant. Service was quick and friendly without being rushed. The entire restaurant was very clean and well presented. The simple set menu is very affective and works well in the setting of the restaurant with many other dining options available throughout the resort. We chose the seafood platter for two, which was very well priced and with more than ample serves. Coupled with the all you can eat salad bar and dessert bar; we were not left wanting. A very relaxed, tasty, and enjoyable night.

We got the seafood platter and garlic prawns for dinner, absolutely delicious! What’s even better is that the unlimited selection of salads and desserts also tasted amazing (yes, even the salads!). The apple crumble slice was a bomb especially.

The shoreline buffet for dinner is a fantastic option if you are staying at the resort. Very convenient! There is a great selection of food and desserts. The roast pork belly is divine! We had the dinner buffet twice during our stay with our kids - who also loved the buffet!

Went to this restaurant during our stay at SeaWorld Resort.

HOW MANY TIMES HAVE I BEEN?
- Six times

OUR EXPERIENCE
- It is a buffet style restaurant.
- Plenty of variety to choose from and fairly price, given the range of food available
- Food was generally good quality, not fine dining (lol) but still good.

STAFF
- Friendly, busy and understaffed for simple things like signing patron in, managing payments and answer phones.
- They were all very focussed on keeping the buffet topped up and clearing tables for new patrons to sit at.

BEST FEATURES
- Good variety of food to try and enjoy
- Seafood buffet on Saturdays and Sundays but it is a cold-sea food buffet with some warm seafood like paella and fish.

TIPS
- Wake up earlier and arrive at 7 or 7.15am for breakfast and avoid long waiting times.
- If you arrive at 8-9am on a weekend day you may wait 20-30mins Just to get into the restaurant, even when there are vacant tables.

LIMITATIONS
- Understaffed, as mentioned above.
- Some warm breakfast dish that does not contain egg would be nice.
- Limited options for vegetarians or vegans except cold fruit and cold salad.

COST
- Not cheap, but good value in terms of bulk and variety
- Sometimes the resort offers a 2 for 1 special which makes dining here far more feasible

ATMOSPHERE
- Busy but enjoyable

PARKING
- At Sea World Resort. Free.

CLEANLINESS
- We found the restaurant to be clean and whilst it was busy staff work working tirelessly to clean tables for next patrons to arrive.

WOULD WE GO THERE AGAIN?
- Yes. Convenient, if staying at the Sea World Resort.
