Very busy and popular on Sunday at lunch time, but we were seated and served right away, the servers were really hustling! We got a cochinita pibil huarache and the barbacoa de borrego (only available on weekends), plus a kids bean and cheese burrito plate for our son. Everything was very fresh and delicious! The huarache was cooked perfectly and the toppings were so tasty. And the lamb barbacoa was PERFECT, incredibly tender meat falling off the shank, the consomme full of tender carrots, potatoes, and chickpeas, served with lime, cilantro and onion to add to the soup and hot tortillas for dipping into the very flavorful broth, and delish rice on the side too. Definitely coming back to try more of their menu!

We got there, got our chips and salsa, 21 minutes passed and not one server came and asked us for drinks, or introduced themselves. Nothing at all. It wasn't even busy. No thank you!
Sabor is fantastic. The food is always great, and fast. The price is reasonable as well.

The quest leaves a lot to be desired so do yourself a solid and skip the queso. Also the guacamole tastes like premade guacamole…

But… those things should not deter you from this place. Everything else excels so much that those are forgettable drawbacks.
This is one of the best restaurants in Aurora! Their chicken is always delicious and tender. I wish they canned and sold their mango habanero sauce! My husband and I would buy a year supply of it if we could!
This place is great but it used to be better. They removed the salsa bar, no chips included with purchase and only a small dressing size salsa per meal or additional charge. I get inflation but could understand why one may rather pay a little extra across the menu to have a more packed dining room due to the extras like salsa bar etc.
Great place to get birria and consomé I have try it so many times time in here is the best a bit expensive but the amount of they give you and flavor worth it !
This truck has not disappointed me at all. Every visit I try something new and it is delicious. Fresh ingredients. Very nice employees. Love this truck

I hate to give such a low rating, but food is expensive these days. I ordered the chicken fajita and the chicken was over cooked as it was dry. My friend said the same with her food. My husband and another friend had the smothered burritos and said it was good. So I think it depends on what you order. Music was so loud we could barely hear each other. Waitress did a good job.
Their breakfast burritos are incredible. You have to try one I want just the right ratio of potatoes to egg ,meat with their green chili amazing
Tacos were pretty good, a lot of fatty pieces in the barbacoa and birria tacos, but the flavor was delicious and they were reasonably priced. Service was fast and friendly.

I do not understand all the positive reviews for this place! We literally left our food un eaten. Our server asked if there was something wrong and we told her we did not care for some of the items and why. She didn’t even offer to comp at least one of our meals! My enchilada was bland and the Relleno was mushy and disgusting . My daughter could not get through her burrito. Pictures of our plates left behind. Save your money, and go somewhere else!

The food is great. I got a chorizo machete and asasda tacos. They were all so good! I went back for a second time and got the Cubano machete which is now my favorite. Quick service, friendly and pretty reasonable price for the portions.
This place is consistently delicious! It's an old hang out of a few of my friends and I'm so glad that they introduced me. They know the owner who really works hard to make sure the food is wonderful and the service is good. I had a tasty bowl of menudo this time. Rich and flavorful! The combination plates are also delicious. No one beats their salsa! Yum!
Really tasty food. I got the Huevos Divorciarse which was great and unique and she got the tamales. The staff were very nice and helpful. Also their menu is quite option packed with breakfast served all day. The next time we are over on that side of town, we'll be back! Recommend giving them a shot if you haven't.
‼️WARNING: They charge a 15% gratuity, and the waitress did not mention it, nor did we see it anywhere on the menu. When we received our itemized bill, we discovered the 15% gratuity had been added without our knowledge. We were nearly about to tip an additional 15% before realizing we had already paid for it.

The food itself was good; it was flavorful, and the portions were generous. However, the service was slow, and our waitress seemed to be more attentive to other tables. I would consider returning if they had informed me about the automatic 15% gratuity charge.
I went in to la costa today march 16,2024 and I bought 3 tortas this is how all 3 came . With the sandwich and about 12 fries. This is so stingy and ridiculous. Won’t ever be coming here again!
The food was good except in MY opinion. I was disappointed in the rice. It kind of tasted like the ones in packets that you cook in the bag. I was not a fan. The rest of the food was really good. We loved the appetizers. We had the queso fundido trio with nopales, chile, and chorizo. Quick friendly serve. Good drinks. Our waitress had great service and communicated well with us. This was our second time coming. And def. recommend.

Food and service was pretty good. They definitely didn't skimp on the chicken in the chicken burrito. I am a bit disappointed though that the prices were significantly higher than online shows. I went today because the decent prices shown online here and was disappointed to see that it was a few bucks more per item. I would have gone to chipotle and saved a bit but I thought it was cheaper than chipotle. Also wish they'd give more salsa, they're definitely stingy with the salsa.
So I’ve been running the game stuff up the street for a couple months and I have made this place my regular stuff for lunch. I can buy at least three times a week now and I have to say I’m never disappointed with anything I ordered. The service is always great, and I know that the Food is fresh. I genuinely don’t think there’s a better bite of Mexican food around this place. 10/10 highly recommended.

Good food & consistency every time. We normally order chicken with Beans and rice. We have also tried the asada burritos and they are delicious. Tortas are also good but nothing special.
Normally food establishments fail to serve good quality when ordering for pick up, but this restaurant gives you quality all the time, wether it's eating in, picking up
Or to-go. I'll stay a costumer as long as this stays true. Definitely worth a try.

What a hidden gem💎!!

This place is fire!🔥 It has the real deal sauces, amazing barbacoa, and fast service.

The horchata is meh and definitely mix, but that's the only bad thing I can say. Their barbacoa burrito gave me life, 🤤 and the birria tacos were just as good.

The service was awesome, fast and friendly. They give complimentary grilled peppers and salt for your meal too. 👌👌

We will be coming back for sure!
Good food. Definitely fresh. Took a little bit of of time to get BUT that to me says FRESH cause they make it when ordered.
It's amazing how a restaurant can give pretty good service but underwhelming food. We've had their Breakfast Burritos and they're quite good 9/10 times. This time, we had lunch and ordered a couple of burritos. They were not so good. Besides being dry, they were lukewarm and the meat was tough: specifically, the steak.

After waiting for nearly 10 minutes to get the food, we were very disappointed. We were so hungry that we ate these items anyway, to our detriment. It may be some time before we visit again. Three (more like 2 ⅔) stars is being generous because the service was good.

I’ve been going to this place over the past 6-7 years and it has progressively gotten worse and I was sure to take pics before throwing my food away. Whenever I’ve gone, I’ve ordered the same items (either Carne asada fries, with shredded cheese not nacho; camaron tacos or asada tacos). I can’t even tell you how disappointed I am. The fries were limp, so either undercooked or an old batch of fries that they had sitting. The tacos were literally cold. I let them know the time of pickup (25 minutes out), but the food had been so cold, it seemed like it was made immediately with stuff that had already been cooked. I had a feeling I should’ve just cooked, but this will be my last time. I had a meeting scheduled for here next week and I can’t have my name attached to this experience. Please get it together, y’all.

The young lady at the register was really kind.

She delivered great customer service.

The charbroiled chicken was seasoned well and tasty.

The chicken was a tad dry unfortunately.

The buffalo wings I got were tasty.

The mango habanero sauce isn’t very good on the hot wings, I suggest formulating a different kind of sauce for that flavor of wings.

I also did not get my flautas and I did not realize it, until I was at home.

Overall the food was good. I’ll definitely return and give it another try.

I tried this place close to work. It had high reviews. It’s in a strip mall. You can eat inside, there are tables but it’s also a place you can order & take to go. Not a huge restaurant. Prices are super reasonable. I ordered a smothered burrito with green chili with shredded beef. It was delicious. All the food tasted fresh. Rice was homemade & authentic tasting. Refried beans were good. I was surprised and they give you a lot of food I felt. If you get the chili rellano, they use Poblano peppers, not Anaheim. They have a lunch menu but you can order anything on lunch menu for dinner as well. It’s a family owned business that has been serving for 33 years. Very clean. Very nice workers and great customer service. It was also very fast. Plenty of parking outside. I will be going back.

I always get the big breakfast burrito, and it's big enough to last me two meals. Their green and red salsas are a delicious pair to the burrito. Pick-up orders work well. I just called in, and my food was ready in 15 min.

The food was absolutely delicious. I had a chicharron taco and 1/2 chicken. My favorite is the Chicharron taco. I have never had one, and now I want to order 10 more.
Worse burrito I've had in a long time. It was my first and last time as a customer. Don't waste your money and go get a burrito from the guy at Home Depot for $5

I’ve been ordering from this place for about 6 months now about about every two weeks. Every time: great service, food is prepared and CORRECT in less than 15 minutes. The chicken: amazing authentic taste and very well priced, feeds an entire family easily. The quesabirrias are delicious and plenty of meat. An adult can easily get filled with two, a kid will prob be good with one. Super authentic and well prepared and most importantly consistent. I had a burrito from here for the first time today. I thought I’d never find another California style burrito, this is as close as I’ve found so far here in Colorado. I could not recommend this place more. I’ve waited for a couple of months to see if I wouldn’t be taking my words back but this place is too good not to recommend. Credit when credit is due.

The queso Birria's from el Meate were dry again no flavor 14.50 the dipping sauce was brown water. I went to taco Y Machetes and the birria's were juicy full of meat for 11.00. not happy with brown water and dry Birria's (El Meate chambers and Mexico SMH

Having moved from Texas-love Taco trucks/hole in the walls....this was a complete random surprise! The Quesabirria was EXCELLENT. The meat is beef and not goat, but packed with layers of flavor and the corn shells were absolutely delicious. Seriously, the best Mexican I've had so far in Denver. I'm hooked.

It’s like a second home!
I ordered the "Norteña" but instead of breaded skirt steak I got regular steak, extra onions, and jalapeños and it tasted amazing! The host was able to speak to me through her translate app and was very friendly. My food came out reasonably fast and the cook was also kind. Great price for the food I paid about 12 bucks not including tip.
The food was good. Nice size portions. Service was decent. The only thing that I didn't catch was a combo plate with a burrito, but it's not a deal breaker. I'll go back again.

We ordered a few carne asada and Al pastor tacos as well as carne asada fries. The tacos were great and tasty! Double tortilla and the meats had lot’s of flavor. Carne asada fries was good and large quantity but just didn’t give me same satisfaction as the tacos. Will say that the only issue is the cup sizes for the sauces and pico is just too small. Had to fill up multiple cups and just felt tedious. Overall, I recommend for some tasty tacos!
Following a medical procedure in which I had to fast for 36 hours prior, we found La Costa. The atmosphere was warm and inviting and the gent who was our server was attentive, professional, and friendly. I had the Mexican steak and it was amazing. So was the frozen ice cream. We didn’t realize we stayed after the place closed, and the staff never acted like they were trying to push us out. Everything was top notch. And it’s less than ten minutes driving from the Aurora VA Regional Medical Center.
The tortas are really good a bit pricey but well worth it. The staff is very nice and so is the atmosphere.
Smallest $8 breakfast burritos I have ever had. Taste is bland. Green chilli is extra $ and barely had any inside. Very weak burritto. There are a handful of restaraunts around with better tasting and bigger breakfast burritos. Not worth your time. I WIll not go back. DO NOT RECOMMEND!
Amazing place!!! One of my favorites. Order the 7 mares, it is amazing! Just amazing.
Very large menu. Everything that I have tried there was great tasting. It takes me about 45 min drive to get there so I don't go as often as I would like, but it is worth the trip. One of my top 5 mexican restaurants in Colorado so far.

If you want cozy and delicious Spanish food then you need to come here. The Chicken is cooked perfectly and the rice and beans have sooo much flavor. We got the quarter chicken and half chicken that comes with 2 sides.

The place is a bit small but have enough tables and seating. The cashier speaks Spanish and English and they are all super friendly and the food comes out at a decent time and super hot and fresh. 10/10 recommend for some good local food at a decent price.
Dined it during a Sunday night- was seated pretty quickly as there was only two of us! Ordered pork fajita and the loco burrito and both were really delicious and filling. The offer such huge portions of food so definitely worth the price. Would definitely recommend.
Whenever I’m in the area, I stop by this place. My favorite breakfast burrito! Large in size and under $10. They load it with potatoes, eggs, bacon, green chili, cheese, in a quality tortilla..the red salsa and avocado salsa added is perfection.
Las Tortugas is the only place my wife likes getting our tortas. When ever we arrive, there's not that much wait time. Very kind people. The tortas always look delicious, and taste Amazing! I would recommend this place to family and friends.
I have been back to this restaurant several times for the greatest, authentic Mexican food that I have ever tasted. There has not been one dish that I have ordered that I have been displeased with. The food is fresh. It’s tasty. It’s plentiful and it’s reasonably priced. Two thumbs up definitely!
Very bad experience today. 5 tortas in one bad???? One was obviously smashed from the weight. 2/5 tortas were made wrong and never got the extra ingredients like we asked for. And the avocado was too old we noticed on all tortas. Regret coming back to this location after a few years of not buying here. Manager was very rude and made me explain the problem in 4 different languages, not actually caring and probably thinking we trying to get a free torta lol. Very disappointed today, sorry I spent 70+ at this place and couldn’t get some decent customer service and a refund without driving back 30 mins. Really would’ve be nice to waste more time on this place and handle it in person. Ohh, almost forgot the long hair they added in as a courtesy ingredient! Smh.

Hands down the best Mexican food in the metro area. My absolute favorite 😍.
Me and my wife had an early lunch there was meet with friendly greetings from employees and seated quickly the menu is quite extensive choices our meal came quickly after ordering and nice and hot and was very delicious
This restaurant is located right next to a Quality Inn which made it very convenient for us when we stayed there. The atmosphere is good, very colorful.

The food was pretty decent but pricey but I think it’s regular prices for this area. The tortilla soup had good flavor and was filling. The parrillada was the hit though. It came with plenty of meats, rice, pico de gallo and beans. It could definitely be shared by two or three people depending on appetite.

They serve beer and margaritas, but the margaritas are not made fresh per order. They taste like agave margaritas, not a fan. But they do serve ice cold beer.

The service was good, food came out pretty fast. Lastly, the bathrooms were clean as well as the rest of the restaurant. If you’re in the area or staying at the hotel next door, this restaurant is a good option. We had a party of 5, 3 adults and 2 children and we paid over $100.

Food is plentiful. Very inexpensive. The black beans were canned. I could taste it. So were the refried beans.

Edit from October 2023. March 2024 now.
The food is smaller in portions now. The guacamole was maybe a teaspoon full. Same with the pico. Not enough to put on the tacos. More like a sample's worth. No more complementary chips and salsa. The salsa gets put on the food by the guy in the back. The price of what I always get was almost two dollars higher. For chicken tacos. The combo.
I don't know if I will be going back.🤷🏿
The pics posted were from 6 months ago.
By No means the same.

It can sneak up on you how much you are spending but the food is worth the price. The pozole has a nice kick. The new margaritas are a nice touch. Everything tasted great. A few pesky flies due to doors being open but other wise good atmosphere enough space between tables and music wasn't too loud.
Amazing authentic bomb spicy real deal Mexican restaurant. Legit home in the wall bomb Mexican can’t say enough!
I ordered the burrito supreme with steak and an horchata. My son got a kids meal with quesadilla and rice and beans. The salsa that came out with chips was more traditional style salsa rather than restaurant style, but tasted great so no complaints. They refilled my chips for free without being asked which was nice. The horchata was good, but cost 6 dollars.

The burrito was good, but not great. The presentation of the food was unappealing and made it look cheap. Overall it seems like they used cheaper ingredients for the food. My son’s rice was bland.

Overall I would probably not come back due to the okay quality food and expensive prices. For what you are getting they should be charging less, but I guess that’s everywhere these days.

It was almost 40 dollars after tip for feeding one adult and a child.

Bonus points for actually having a kids menu and high chairs for small kiddos. The service was good and attentive on a Monday night when it wasn’t too busy.
I'm trying all the menudos in the area! Hands down the best, most flavorful menudo so far! The ratios between meat and hominy are good, too! First time I finish a full bowl of menudo! The service is amazing, like going to your family's house! Go try this place!! Super cute inside, too!

Pretty good food. The service was fast and friendly. The prices are a little high but comparable to other restaurants here in Denver.

The Taco Plate I got with Al Pastor was very flavorful, the pineapple pieces gave it a nice sweetness to it. The Aztec Soup was full of flavor but did t have chicken in it. We all enjoyed our food, if I lived here I would probably come again. We also had a margarita that was refreshing and not overly sweet.

They have plenty of seating and a bar and televisions throughout.
I went thru the drive thru, but customer service was great! I got agua frescas, limón and mango and man they were good! Got menudos. Flavor was okay, but just no spice, so I added a little tapatio at home, and that hit the spot!!! Good in a pinch, not worth the $50 for 2 menudos and 2 aguas frescas
The food at this place was good. Once the food came to the table there was no talking at all, each person was enjoying there food (a true sign of good food).

Saw all the positive reviews and decided to give it a try. It was a Saturday afternoon. Not a long line at all and we saw several take out folks or “dashers” during our visit. The only available table was dirty, so I just wiped it off with a napkin.

We had the half chicken and also tried a quesabirria taco and the carne asada fries. I could have eaten another taco or two! That alone was worth the trip. (The young lady working the counter even said it was a popular choice.)The fries were tasty and the large was a good portion for sharing. Definitely check out this little hidden gem!
Had a wonderful meal. Shrimp diablo was delicious!!!! Banana Burrito, delicious. Atmosphere was great. The service however, not so much. Didn't check on us once we got our food, Did not take our dirty plates, or asked. If we needed another soda, didn't ask if we wanted dessert. Brought our bill, I then asked for dessert. Still did not take our plates. The manager actually picked them up as he was passing by. When she brought the bill again, that's when she asked if I needed another soda. Such a shame. The sad thing was she was giving great service to all the others around us.
Stopped in for steak breakfast burritos from a client recommendation and have zero regrets. Super fast through the drive thru and yet still could tell it was freshly made. Did I think $9.50 for a burrito was steep? Yeah I initially did but really it's the size of 2 from any of the area competitors so there's that and it was really freaking good. Lots of steak inside as well as real potatoes (not french fries) eggs, cheese and green chili. Also comes with 2 different side salsas. I'm calling this one a WIN
Tried a new place on my quest for green chili when visiting Colorado. I was not disappointed. The green chili was a super spicy addition to my breakfast. The portion size amazing. To top this off the staff were friendly and great with service.
We used to live in CO and this was our favorite Mexican restaurant. We made sure we stopped by on this trip. It did not disappoint! The food was delicious! I didn’t even get a picture before I took a bite! The owner is super friendly. It was an all around great experience.

Stopped in looking for a quick bite. This place is awesome. They serve breakfast burritos, till noon, with your choice of meat for about three dollars. They also sell tacos and tortas with lots of fixings and sauces. Various flavors of aguas frescas. The ladies who work there are very friendly and courteous. The burritos were really good and had a nice kick to them. It's definitely worth returning to dine in.
They have the bed tacos de tripa in town! Just order them crispy! Their salsa is really good and the food too. It is just like a neighborhood restaurant so nothing fancy. We tried a seafood soup and it was amazing, super fresh and delicious.
I have been coming to these location for years and the tortas are always really good. But today a little disappointing. To start the woman that made my food first wiped her face and nose which sounded like she had a runny nose with her bare hand and then grabbed gloves without washing her and started to make my food. I ordered 8 tortas for my family so that they can end up in the trash because I wasn't going to feed my family mucus. And in the middle of making my food she decides to stop leave her post move over to the soda refrigerator to check her phone and answer txt messages like if that was more important then the $120 I spent plus the $15 I gave for tip. When I walked in the restaurant was empty and for sure there were 4 employees and no one thought it was a good time to clean the place. Tables where gross and trash all over the floor. Lady in the photo is the woman that didn't bother in washing her hands.
This restaurant has been around for some time. Initially it was located outside the shopping center one block north of its current location. The dining area is small but the food is outstanding. Majority of the staff speaks Spanish but don't let that stop you from eating here. Tortas is a Spanish word for hogies, sandwiches. Strongly recommend this place. They don't serve fountain drinks. Only glass bottled soda or aguas frescas (fresh fruit drinks).

I had the carbon skillet burrito. Omgoodness so good. If you don't eat pork minus the green chile. The steak was tender, eggs were fluffy and the veggies were just right. I'll definitely be back. This place has been a lot of things over the years. I hope this restaurant makes it long term. Don't miss the opportunity to have some great Mexican food. Until next time.

I came here with Family sometime two years ago and it was good but I hadn’t had a chance to come back finally I went the other day with my friend I am eight months pregnant so I was extremely hungry lol I ordered the Mexican hamburger which was like eight dollars my friend ordered a torta which was also like eight dollars we got two side of fries and I ordered an extra plate of enchiladas three for seven dollars together it came up to $37.98 it was really really good I put salt and pepper on my fries and my enchiladas but other than that it was really good they charge you an extra 1.25 for Chips and salsa refills but I didn’t even get through the first basket before the food came the food came so fast and it was fresh… The staff were so nice and asked us if we wanted refills I will definitely be back
It has became our family favorite place to come and eat Tacos. Friendly staff, and clean environment. We highly recommend trying their Birria Tacos, Pozole, Menudo and when they have Chocoflan Definitely try a slice!

Are you looking for a BOMB Torta.!!? This is the place for you.! I've had good tortas but no one will compare to Las Tortugas. Hands down the best in town!! My tasty go to one is The Chilanga (Breaded skirt steak, ham, franks and melted cheese)... You gotta try this spot!! You won't be disappointed
Stopped in for lunch. Overall pretty decent experience. Chips and salsa were excellent. $12-$20 per entree. Would have no concerns going back. Waitress was good. Lots of cars and people inside today.

Wonderful kind and helpful staff, quick servuce, delicious and economical food.
Is also great that they are open for breakfast.
Edit: Initially gave 5 stars. Times we’ve been back since have been very average.

We got the Quesobirria with Barbacoa and Carnitas machete. Both were very very good. Employee taking my order was polite and made suggestions with asked.

Absolutely 5 star food and service. It's a whole in the wall place that made us hesitant at first. Didn't stop us though. Sometimes those are the best places. It odd not disappoint. It was busy the entire time we were there. The food was fresh and had that authentic Mexican flavor. The guacamole was smooth and flavorful. I had the 3 taco platter beef, chicken, and potatoe tacos. 1 of each. It also came with rice and beans. My husband had a smothered burrito. When he finished it he said "that was so good." We will definitely be back. Excellent prices too.
Great service and great food. Got the fajitas, my only complaint would be that it left like less food than you would get at other places
You order something.. they give you something completely different. Then you ask them to do it correctly and the employees have attitudes. It seems like they have a high turnover in employees so maybe they are just miserable. The tacos had onions which I asked for them not to have any.. usually it’s not a big deal but after so many times.. you get tired. They pretended to give me a new order which in reality they just tried their best to dig out the onions from the original order. There was no communication, they just kept staring at me as if I was the one who made a mistake. I’m all for supporting small businesses but not when you pay $30 for two orders of tacos that are made half asssss. Please don’t come here! This place is legit!!! Portion sizes are great, and the food is amazing. The flavors are on point. I got the al pastor and Carne asada and it's so good.

One of my favorite taco places around town, and the staff is always super friendly. It can take time to get your order, but it's always delicious. Over the many years I've been coming here, I've only ever had maybe 1 or 2 less than amazing experiences. The tacos al carbón are my favorite, and the chile cheese fries are bomb!

Very good!! The lengua tacos were very tasty. The steak torta had great flavor. The salsa was incredible. Very spicy. The staff was so friendly. I will definitely be going back!
You know it's a great Mexican restaurant when their beans and rice taste good! I love this place the food is amazing! So much flavor! My favorite dish are the chilaquiles! This place never disappoints me.
Wonderful sandwich shop. I had The Guera sandwich with avocados and grilled jalapeños, it was delicious!! First place we ate at after arriving in Colorado, that will be a high bar to surpass for the rest of the week I’m really glad we stopped.
This is one of the best loncheras!! They have sea food now for those who love sea food. You get the best of both worlds! I have a big family so I love coming here because they gave a variety of food to choose from. Plus the best part is they have plenty of tables and chairs to sit and enjoy your food. I love how clean and beautiful they set up the place.

Food is good, promptly served and the service is good. Place is fairly busy, specially for pickup orders. If you're dining in, plan in waiting a bit outside of the restaurant in the most busy hours as they have very limited seating (5 tables max) available because of COVID19 guidelines. Place looks clean and looks like they sanitize often.
That fish was fantastic. I ate everything including some of the bones and one of the eyes. it was cooked all the way through. One of the best of dishes I've had in a Mexican restaurant. The food just said yum...
I inhaled the tacos before I thought about snapping a photo of them. Yum. I'll be back. However, next time I will order ahead so I don't have to wait.
Ive been a chef for 15 years and it does not get any better than this.....
