Quite crowded place around 12 noon, so you can imagine it’s a pretty popular restaurant, and may be short-staffed. Food was authentic with some pretty good ones, like the pork piglet meat, vegetarian geese and stone pot oxtail; one incentive is they offer a decent discount, which is quite attractive. We each spent $20 for the full meal.
The food is good, specially the famous rice noodle roll. Price is reasonable as well. However, if you plan to eat in, the food court can be very cold and windy when people open the door. So you may want to order take out during winter months.
I previously left a negative review after a disappointing experience with food that wasn't fresh, resulting in stomach pain. However, I decided to give them another shot yesterday. Surprisingly, they offered me the lunch special, even though it was a weekend. I must say, they've completely turned things around. The food was fantastic – fresh ingredients, well-seasoned, and cooked just right. It's not often you get such quality at this price point. For around $12, the value is unbeatable. It's clear they've taken feedback seriously and improved their game. I'm glad I gave them a second chance. They've won me over with their commitment to better service and quality meals. If you're looking for a tasty, affordable meal, it's definitely worth a visit.
Although this food was brought to me it tasted pretty good! I didn't go inside so I can't comment on the service or atmosphere but it looked appetizing and it actually was! Perfect for lunch! Great portion as well. Hoping to go back and try more dishes from here.
I’m sorry. I’ve been here 4 times due to good pricing and it’s basically next door to my office. The restaurant stinks and is dirty. So much grime on the floors. I ordered anyways. The rice was good each time. The chicken balls have raw dough and I even asked for well done once I caught on to see if it was just a one off. Wrong. Tried the chicken wings instead. Broken bones, dark, dank, gross meat and greasy. Tasted spoiled and I threw them all away after busting a few open. Last time I was the there, and I mean the LAST TIME, a mouse ran across the floor in the hallway beside the kitchen. I returned against better judgement after a few let downs based on good reviews but I’m done. To each their own but this place is nasty.

Up on arrival, you are informed that you have 90 minutes, menu is extensive with great pictures to help you. Started off with a large hot and sour soup and a corn soup. Once we were finished that the rest of our food came out... and kept coming out. Great food, typical of our group, we ordered more than what was needed.
Can’t expect service and atmosphere for an old foodcourt so 4 is for the food alone for such economic price
Rice roll 5/5 Beef is tender
Congee 5/5 One might disagree but I like the combination of greens and shredded ginger. Generous ingredients.
Guilin noodle w spicy minced meat (small) 2/5 Portion is big but there’s not much minced meat and the soup is just not my type, flavour is not as rich as the authentic ones

Great spot for classic Cantonese food and group dining. Food is generally delicious although the pork chop we had was slightly dry / overcooked. Prices for each dish is on the higher end, but it is accompanied via large portions (meant for sharing). 5% off if you use cash to pay. Food is served relatively quickly and servers would also answer quickly.

I would recommend a more thorough cleaning for tables for the restaurant. When we sat down some bits of rice were found on the table. Seating otherwise was fairly comfortable.

This is one of my favourite food haunts. I usually would do takeout, but today as our pre-Christmas celebration together, we decided to dine-in.

I ordered my usual, Thai mango salad, rice noodle with beef + black bean sauce, Shanghai noodles, and NVC ordered the chicken fried rice. But we shared everything! Other dishes I'm really fond of: roast duck soup with rice noodles, bean curd with spicy ground pork, the spicy fried fish, and sizzling beef platter.

Honestly, I have tried most of the menu, and it's all fantastic. This location has really fresh ingredients, large portions, and everything really compliments everything else. So even if you have a sizzling platter, it will go with any vegetable you order.

We were so excited about the mango salad, we dove in before I had a chance to take a picture! No fear,l! I ordered another to go! Merry Christmas to me(and You!). 🤪🎁
Fisherman Lobster King is Cantonese Restaurant where you can order a la carte or set banquet style.

Service was good and dishes came out very fast. Very professional wait staff, when we were done they cleaned out empty dishes quickly as well.

Food was good but no dishes really stood out, we felt the lobster was a little overcooked and wasn't seasoned enough. Everything else was pretty good overall.
I recently tried this great place and it was a total win! The portions were great – definitely got my money's worth and then some. The flavors were spot on, especially their chili chicken which was just the right kind of spicy. Plus, the staff were super friendly and quick with service, making the whole experience really laid-back and enjoyable.
I live far from here and it was my first time going as I was recommended by a friend who used to live in the area. I got combo plater 4C I got Beef fried rice, chicken wings, and spring rolls. I can say this is the best fried rice I have ever tasted and I’ve tasted many different fried rice dishes as it is my favourite food. They were not stingy with the portions whatsoever I eat a lot and when I tell you I got full and it didn’t even seem like I made a dent in the food was crazy. The price is reasonable and comparable to other restaurants of this kind considering the times we are in right now but the portion makes up for it 10x. I’m making it my mission to come to this place any time I’m in the area. 10/10 you won’t be disappointed.
Ordered a beef brisket noodle in soup.
It was okay, but a bit overpriced for a food court.
I dislike the most is that they don’t use the right noodle. I wouldn’t ordered it if I knew.

Came here on a Sunday for lunch and it was quite busy but still was able to get a table for 6 without a reservation and no waiting!

Lots of variety here! They have a big menu here that might be a little overwhelming but their kitchen is great! We were able to order from a QR code they provide so there was less of a wait time ordering straight to the kitchen.

We ordered:
- K42 Spice & Pepper Salt Squid ($15.50)
- K57 Deep Fried Chicken Wings 6 pieces
($12) x2
- K58 Spice & Pepper Salt Bean Curd ($11)
- H1 Empress Fried Rice ($20.50)
- P3 Shrimp & Chive Rice Noodle Roll ($7.50)
x2
- B1 Scallop with Tiger Shrimp Congee
($12.50)
- E3 Cantonese Chow Mein

All these foods were pretty tasty, and spent overall about $130 for 6 people with some leftovers. Not bad for quality food.

They also gave complimentary tea with tasted great, not too strong, and they were quick with tea refills, usually under a minute for them to come with a new teapot. Very friendly staff with quick and reliable service. We’ll be back!

I love their lunch special. It's not cheap BUT very reasonably priced, as it's in a good portion and has everything I want - a main dish, rice, soup, snacks (spring roll), dessert (orange) and a drink. All items are put together very well. We ordered Sweet and Sour Pork and Bitter Melon Pork. Both are sticky items in Chinese cuisine, and I'm happy that they both have good authentic taste. The vibe and services are good. Most of the customers are older adults and families so the staff are trained to be patient and friendly. I recommend Congee Queen for anyone who is looking for a Chinese restaurant where you can bring your whole family.
Dishes are okay. A bit salty and starchy for my taste though. The price is HIGH for sure.

My review is purely on their service.

We had a server who had no interest in talking with us, nor serving us. When we ask for anything, he does NOT look happy. It feels like we are wasting his time. He never once checked how our food was, he rolled his eyes when we ask to heat up soup and told us he will just microwave it.

The issue here is, they are not working for more tips! The tips aka "service fee" (12%)is already added to the bill. This tip is added on top of tax. You have to pay for it.

We ordered a meal bundle, $599, ended up paying $820ish. Tips were about $80.

If there were any service, we wouldn't mind paying tips.

And when we questioned the service to the manager, she said" the server answered all your questions." This is shocking! If this is the lowest requirement you could have for service industry.
Great quality food. Servers accommodated our requests.
Presentation was immaculate. I have nothing bad to say about this place. Very pleased and happy customer

I’ve never been to this Congee Queen location and now it’s my favourite of them all! Every dish that I ordered was incredible!

Despite the food coming out super fast, the food was delicious! Everything I had was unreal good.

The turnips are a pleasant surprise. Crispy on the outside, soft like a pillow on the inside.

The golden bowl is another one of my favourite dishes. So saucy, so tender, so good.

Pro tip, bring cash and receive a 15% discount

I came here with my friend for a late lunch and this place did not disappoint. It's an old school hong kong style restaurant, the food is flavorful and has a great selection. We ordered chicken and abalone congee, beef with rice noodle, squid, fried dough, and milk tea.

One of favourite places to get congee and other Asian food. If you know how to order or what to order, how they cook and season it is superb. It’s not too salty or not too sweet. I love coming back here. If you aren’t familiar with what to order, look at the other tables and see for yourself. I enjoy using my phone to order the phone. Ensures I get exactly what I ordered and I know the price at the end to pay. Service is quick. Doesn’t disappoint.

Lots of variety to choose from. Hot and fresh.
2nd time here. It’s a cozy dining place (looks small but seats quite a number of people). Service is efficient and staff is courteous. Food isn’t extraordinary but decent and fast (kinna an alternate go-to after the Wonton Trio place next door is now closed).
Amazing food, very tasty and full of flavour. We order the house special noodles, chili chicken, chicken pakora and chicken brocoli. It was the best tasting chinese food I ever tried. We ordered 1 order of each dish and 3 of us ate, plus we had left overs to take home. For the 4 dishes, I paid about $60.
This is the Congee Queen location I go to the most. They are always so busy . Their Chinese BBQ is so good . The quality is always the same . BBQ PORK is never dry. The roast duck skin crispy and meat juicy . Usually get the fried grouper but today I got the fried sea bass, which was very light and tasty the sauce was a little on the salty side . The wonton soup was as usual fresh and cooked well. Definitely a place to go if you are doing large groups , because their serving sizes are bigger . If you pay cash they give you a discount it was 10 percent but I think they changed it to 5 percent discount . They also have lunch menus during the week and afternoon tea menu during the week as well.
The food: The beef brisket noodle soup broth was flavorful and tasty, and the noodles were good as well but the beef brisket was not that good in comparison. The beef brisket has a tinge of cinnamon which I did not enjoy, as the beef brisket I usually eat does not taste like this. This cantonese food was alright, but I would not use yummy as the defining word for this restaurant. I would retitle this restaurant as Alright Cantonese Restaurant.

The tea: Complimentary hot tea was tasteless and lackluster. It tasted like hot water with a hint of nothing.

The chili oil: The chili oil enlightened me and brought joy to our otherwise bland meal. This will only apply to the chili oil fanatics like me, though, so take this review of chili oil with a grain of salt. The chili oil was flavorful and brightened up the other flavors in the food, which caused me to give this restaurant 3 stars instead of 2. The chili oil was splendid and enriched with flavor.

The service: The restaurant itself was full of people but probably not because the food is good, but because there are not many options for Cantonese food around here. The waiters were okay, but you must write down your order yourself. The food came out at a relatively okay pace, but three dishes that we ordered in the beginning did not arrive until almost 45 minutes later, after we finished the other dishes.

The ambience: The interior was alright, and the walls have a nice design, but only on one wall is there a design.

Restroom: The restroom exists, which is good. There was a small fly in the toilet that instilled fear in me as I released my bodily fluid into the porcelain bowl, but I finished my business quickly and then everything was alright.

Conclusion: I would not return to this restaurant. Everything was okay, but there are definitely better Cantonese restaurants out there that I would travel farther to eat at rather than eat here. I give this restaurant 3 stars, but my mother who did not receive her food until 45 minutes after we finished our food would like to give this restaurant 1 star. As we pulled out of the parking lot, a sign caught my eye: a restaurant called Perfect Chinese Restaurant. Next time, I will travel there for a meal instead, as I may not be bamboozled and fooled by their restaurant name as I was dining at Yummy Cantonese Restaurant.
Prepare to be swept away by an explosion of flavors as tender beef, succulent chicken, vibrant veggies, and plump shrimp unite in a symphony of taste in the house special chow mein. As for the young chow fried rice, it's a delightful revelation – an abundant medley of chicken and shrimp dancing harmoniously on your palate. Each bite is a revelation of freshness, leaving your taste buds yearning for more. Rest assured, your cravings will be met, and any notions of disappointment will be a distant memory.
Great flavor at low price :) me and my gf drove 50 km to come here for their dishes, and we are not disappointed. Be mindful that they close early, but if you manage to give a call to put in the order, they can get it ready for you even 30 mins after they close.
Ordered wonton noodle soup $6 CAD and a plate of veggies $9 CAD. Food is below average esp the noodles which seemed like Shanghai noodles instead of egg noodles. The plate of veg tasted weird because the soya sauce tasted like the kind you put on steamed fish. Would not go back again. The environment is a dai pai dong type of food court w dirty tables. Ugh.

I hate that I’m giving this place a one star even me and my friends got food poisoning we were sick for days on end we had called and reported it to the staff and they didn’t acknowledge us at all they told us that it’s probably something else even though we weren’t feeling sick until we ate there food. Also not worth the money you spend waste of money and food.

Orange chicken was really sweet orange chicken with orange slices (not a sweet and sour pork). I ordered 1:40 pm Jun 7 and staff did a really good job. Quick and friendly.
The rice noodles were disappointing. They were too soft and the toppings were everywhere. Sweet soy sauce was watered down and lacked flavour. Lack of noodle selection for their soup noodle dishes. The deep fried dough fritters were delicious! Staff work hard but aren't very friendly.

Generous portions but strange texture of the rice noodle rolls and the smell of the brisket. Worst of all, the waiter forces you to pay a certain amount of tips. Never will I visit it again.
Loved their rice noodle rolls, congee was tasty too.
Beautiful paint works and wallpapers. Staff was nice and professionals.

New compact containers provide very little food. And of course the price gouge. The owners are rolling in money. Skip the fried rice. It's not fried at all. It's steamed rice with frozen peas and carrots, and something to color the rice. No meat, sprouts, green onions or egg. No seasoning. Just terrible, and no value for the money. Go to Shanghai 360 instead.

Price is on par with everyone else. What happened to the extremely spicy chicken that was slightly breaded??? It was sooo good.
General Tsao chicken with steam rice(on the soft side) and sprouts & springroll.

Chicken is way to sweet, didn't need the plum sauce for the roll.
Spring Roll hot and fresh but tasted odd...
Steam rice a little on the soft side.

I've always been a fan of Machu Wok so it is my go-to comfort food. There are always so many options to choose from and it's impossible to resist that fresh batch of crispy chicken wings. But what makes this location truly the best is hands down the friendliest service. The staff is enthusiastic and nothing beats receiving your meal from a genuine person that adds a little light to your day. Highly recommend!
Quality food for a great price, located inside this food court! Our favourite spot for zhaliang (fried dough rice noodle rolls), it never disappoints and the portions are generous! Their congee is also worth trying, overall a great spot and a must try!

I was a little dubious when my mother in law asked us to have dinner at this place knowing that I'm allergic to shellfish.

But what we discovered is this restaurant is quite good with their portion sizes. From the pictures you can see we ordered a Cantonese chow mien, beef with broccoli, Peking duck (two ways), and a sweet and sour pork.

The Peking duck was excellent, I would come back just for that. They are very generous with the second round of duck with tons of lettuce wraps.

The beef with broccoli was a big hit. Beef was very tender and flavorful, broccoli was cooked perfectly -- crunchy but soft.

The Cantonese chow mien is nothing to write home about but portion was unbelievable. We had 5 people at the table and barely made a dent in it.

The sweet and sour pork was probably the weakest of the dishes we ordered, nothing special about it and the pork was a little overcooked. Flavor wise was fairly standard.

Overall we liked our experience at Fisherman Lobster King.
New hakka spot. Never tried it before because i thought its strictly Chinese food due to the name but its hakka. Amazing food and service. Manchurian egg fried rice. Chili chicken gravy. Chicken pakoras and veggie chow mein and crispy beef is what we get. Will continue going here.

The workers here are very friendly and service oriented.
Satisfied with the food we ordered and the bill is reasonable for the kind of food and amount of servings compared to expensive fine dining restaurants. 5 adults and 1 child, we didn’t even finish the good for 4-5 people deal. We will definitely go back. We’re fine with the service charge as the gentleman who served our table worked hard and was nice.

This rice noodle tastes just like what it would be in china super authentic and good. Surprisingly the ground beef is very tender and not mushy in noodle. The eggs and the lettuce just compliments it making a fantastic creation. 10/10 definitely recommend
Incredible value for fast food in today’s economy. Menu items average $6-9 for a meal that will have you full and satisfied. Guilin noodles and congee were good. Typical Canton food court experience in Scarborough.
This place is such a gem! Food is served quickly, prices are more than reasonable. Their rice rolls are A-1 and made fresh to order. I got #118 and it was delectable and the filling was savoury, plentiful and flavours are well balanced. The peanuts add a great crunch! It is a food court, so please by all means don’t go in with high standards for dining in. A definite must try for the rice roll lover in you! ✅

We pre ordered a lobster dinner special for $288 (cash only). Every dish was delicious and even with 6 people we had enough leftovers for another meal for 2 people. The service is amazing and the decor is so fancy. Very clean washrooms too. Highly recommend to anyone who enjoys fine Chinese dining.
