I have been going to Raku for several years now and the food has been consistently good albeit a bit truffle heavy and just a tad over dressed. One of my favourites is the tenaga ebi (scampi sushi with foie gras) and the kumogani (soft shell crab roll). I also highly recommend the jidori karaage - probably one of the best fried chicken I have ever had. The menu is quite extensive but an express set lunch during weekdays is also available for a minimum of 2 people. I have tried this and the portions are adequate so you don't leave hungry. During my last visit, I was disappointed to discover that the oysters are not freshly shucked to order :(
The service at Raku has always been a bit lacklustre but it was at its worst during my last visit. Service was slow and inattentive. I had to wait 15 minutes for someone to take my order after having asked them to do so several times. The drinks took another 15 minutes and was delivered to our table after 3 dishes have been served already. The service is just not commensurate with a fine dining restaurant.
The restaurant can get a bit noisy and I don't like the idea of communal tables, at least not in a fine dining restaurant. The booths are quite cozy and the private dining room at the back is very nice.
Would I come back here? Probably... if only for their nigiri and fried chicken. I'll just overlook the poor service. Its such a shame, this restaurant could be a lot better.

I found Kadoya Japanese Restaurant enjoyable, fast service and tasty food. However it was very noisy and not being able to have a beer was a let down.

We had Pork ramen and Chicken Katsu curry. Both flavoursome and served fast and piping hot.
Recommended.
This is nowhere near Tsukemen, the broth is too watery, no thickness at all which is the main point of Tsukemen. The noodles too are not ramen quality. The texture is like yaki soba noodles.

I expect more because this is a 19 dollar meal.

Stopped here for a quick cocktail after dinner with our kids. We sat outside so we wouldn’t disturb the other diners because our kids are still very young. The staff were very accommodating and spilt an adult ‘Mocktail’ into two glasses for our young kids to share so they didn’t feel like they were missing out. It was a really nice time. I can’t wait to go back and have dinner there alone with just my wife. The atmosphere was really nice.

Had the $108 banquet. Wow. The food was absolutely amazing. Rolled out of there. Service was great and quick. It was a birthday and they did something a little special for the birthday girl. Absolute banger of a meal. Will be back.
I went there because the reviews were good, but I hope you don't eat the pork cutlet lunch box. Of course, I haven't tried anything else, so I don't know if the other foods are okay, but the lunch box I ate wasn't good. The meat was too tough and tasteless, so I felt like they used old meat. Soybean paste soup is the worst I've ever eaten because it feels like I'm just drinking warm water. The vegetables weren't fresh at all, and what's already withered was in my food. The only thing that was better was fried shrimp. I ordered a coke together, and it was the best.
I had a little birthday dinner with some close friends last night. We ordered the big banquet dinner... omg it was amazing. I'm some what of a foodie and LOVE fine dinning, and Boom Boom Room by far is one of my favourites. We went on an amazing journey of mouth watering flavours. The Plum a day cocktail was a hit for us and the service was exceptional with friendly, fun and very accommodating staff to our dietary requirements (I require gluten free). Absolutely a must do for any occasion, I would highly recommend :)

Loved Boom Boom Room! The atmosphere and food were great. Our favourites were the scallops and Nigiri trio. The team were lovely and attentive. Lots of gluten free options, big win!
Always such a great experience.
Staff are always lovely and pay great attention to ensuring you have a good time.
Food is delicious! Never once had a disappointing meal.
Atmosphere is cozy and welcoming.

We had a set with entree, miso pot, and desserts 😋

A delicious surprise of miso crab dinner plate. This dinner was a surprise for me. Usually, I meticulously plan and scour the menu. This was a Fridate with my partner where he took care of all of all the seafood goodies I was craving and spoke to the restaurant who made it happen. They even took care of him really well! With his food allergies, they made a little chicken banquet for him.

Arigato Iori!
Real Japanese restaurant, small and tidy, all Japanese stuff and varieties of freshest Japanese food. Probably the best Japanese restaurant at Northern Beaches 🙏🇯🇵🙏✨
Delightful meal from a quite extensive menu provided by informative staff with pleasant smiling service BYO (2 bottle shops 50m away).
We had booked a table for a special occasion (family back in country together for first time in over 12 months).
Sat near the kitchen/cash point, noisy but one would hope at least noticeable. Unfortunately, this is where things started to come undone. Took over 30mins to take our order, even though we'd asked numerous times. Drinks arrived promptly, but food took over 50mins to arrive. Well, most of it - the server realised they had forgotten to put one meal through, so had to go and cook that in a rush - another 20mins before that arrived.
The food was good, but taking almost 2 hours to serve 2 small starters and 5 mains was extremely frustrating. The restaurant was reasonably busy, but the owner stated that they weren't actually that rushed in the kitchen!!
No apologies offered :(
Deeply disappointing, have previously had good experiences here, but service has fallen way behind the quality of the food.
Would only recommend going when it's less than half full.
Great Japanese restaurant near the hotel I stayed at. Lots of options, even take away specials. I ordered tempura prawn sushi and teriyaki fish bento box. Portion was great for the price.

waited 30 minutes for my food, about 25 other order numbers after me were called. The lady was calling out a number (wasn’t mine) for 15 minutes but no one was going up i went up and asked if that was my dish she said no and my food would be ready in 5 minutes. she chats to the kitchen and in fact the dish was mine. when i got it it was cold because it had been sitting there for so long. I asked if they were able to make a new one and she was very rude and said no.

We booked out a table for 20, and had such a lovely time. The food was delicious, and the staff were very kind and helpful with catering to various dietary requirements. Such a lovely atmosphere, and would definitely go again.
🧐✨looking for a quick and easy but yet super delicious Japanese option in @brisbanecity ?! have you checked out @kadoya_brisbane yet?! i don’t know how this was my first time going, especially since its so close to my uni, its the perfect spot to grab a bite!🤩💖🥰

we got✨🍽️:

🍱deluxe yakiniku beef bento
🍤crispy prawn curry
🍜dipping noodles
🤍agedashi tofu

the bento was so filling and yummy! the beef was tender and flavorful🥩✨i loved their prawn curry though, i haven’t had Japanese curry in so long and this made me want more🥹🤤what i really found cool about their menu is, if you’re not a big eater like me, they have smaller or half size portions of their items!👀🔥their dipping noodles are so tasty but quite spicy, so if you love spice you need to try this dish out🔥🤯

Went here for my birthday recently with a few friends. It was my second visit but this time we ate in the restaurant area rather than a private room so we got to feel the atmosphere of the restaurant. It has a great vibe and I appreciate the moody interior with dim lighting. Especially after a long day at work. The service and food was exceptional and the cocktails were well presented with a good amount of alcohol. I especially love the yuzu sake.

My first time dining at Raku and it was exceptional. The atmosphere was great, I sat in a private booth with 5 friends.
4 of us had the Royal Tasting Menu for $160.
Each course was different with outstanding flavours.
The waiters all knew the details of the food or drinks (different waiters for each)

The quality of food was good, but nothing really special. We have paid 86$ (special price) for the package for 2 people. The service was really good, waitress were always present and careful. I honestly wouldn’t go for the full price.
This is an incredible restaurant, I really enjoyed my dinner.

The atmosphere is inviting, relaxing, and real joyful. 😎

The menu has so many options, so I will need to return many times to try more.

We had soft shell crab sushi, prawn sushi, chicken karaage, and agadeshi tofu.💯

The food is fresh, served quickly and delicious. The service is very friendly. 👌😊

Went for my girlfriends birthday, food and drinks were amazing. Service was also superb, server was about to explain what she thought was going to be enough food as both me and my partner were about to seriously under order. Everything was perfect and came in good time. The desert weren't to my tasting but it was extremely hard to compete with the main courses. I will be back again at the next special occasion. (As someone who doesn't eat fish there is alot of meat and vegetable dishes you can order)
First time here after walking past it many times and hearing about this place that has been around forever! Monday night birthday dinner with the family on a warm summer night giving it a go at the all you can eat Wagyu Shabu Shabu. 90 mins later and we walked out completely stuffed and satisfied. Beef was excellent quality and you just need to keep going at it until the timer rings! Also BYO wine at $3.5 per person corkage is fabulous. Will definitely return after a period of vegetarianism😅
Great food, good pricing. Wish it was open more often! You do need to check if it's open around the holidays as they do take longer breaks than most. However still one of the best, fastest, authentic Japanese places around Spring Hill

We enjoyed a lovely lunch at Raku. We ordered the royal tasting set. The meal was beautifully presented and fresh. The scallop was slightly over cooked, but everything else was exceptional. Fantastic flavours. The service was good, the girls were friendly, however, for the price you’re paying for this dining experience I would expect a higher level of professionalism, perhaps more training is needed. We will happily return.

My wife and I had dinner here last night. From the moment you walk in, you're greeted with a smile.
Our waiter and waitress were 5 stars, and it's been the same every time we dine here.

The atmosphere is great! They had a house dj playing groovie, remixed tunes, and combined with the red velvet daycor, and warm lighting really sets the tone for a great dining experience.

Now the food. We both got the $79 per person banquet, as we wanted a "bit of everything," and we weren't disappointed.
Everything was well presented and cooked to perfection.

If you know, you know, but if you don't you could easily miss this place.

Highly recommend!
This place is always excellent. We had the sushi platter for 4 and it was fresh and delicious. The staff were very friendly and accommodating, and the chef came out to check on everything and even sent out complimentary extras. Will definitely be back!
Everything was good!!
Sashimi was very fresh and dessert perfact🫶👍

The soba noodles didn't go well with the soup. They also salty gyudon teriyaki ,but they were good to eat. The fried food was delicious.
The food here is tasty and the flavours are unique. Each dish has a very distinct Japanese Peruvian twist. I had the tasting menu. The sashimi and sushi were fresh, as were the oysters. The vegetables were tasty but I found the wagyu left a bit to be desired. The scallops were amazing. Service was good. The staff were knowledgeable and explained what each dish was. The restaurant has very nice interiors. Parking is available in Canberra Centre.

Delicious food, especially the sashimi and sushi and the vegetarian dishes are really nice too. Friendly, attentive wait staff.
Despite my trepidation on getting some stuff service due to previous reviews, I was surprised with it being on point. We opted for the tasting menu and dishes came at a decent pace with the drinks almost instantly when ordered. Everything was seasoned well and delicious, the dessert being totally fantastic. Highlights were the beef and the ceviche. Luckily we decided to ask our host to pair the dessert wine and it was perfect ending to our Boxing Day dinner. We were also fortunate to be seated away from the very raucous crowd downstairs, so thank you Inka. Loved it and definitely recommend it was some fantastic fusion food and ambience.

On our recent visit to Canberra, we had dinner at INKA. I have to say that it was one of the best meals we've had in the recent past. We could not fault a single dish we had ordered, on its flavor, presentation or quality.

Looking forward to going there again.
Iori seems to have been here forever, and has changed very little.
Although it has been an age since I had stepped inside, there was a frisson of familiarity and good memories of times past.
Despite our confirmed booking having been mislaid, the highly knowledgeable and helpful staff managed to fit us in with ease, although service did seem rather rushed.
We opted for a pescatarian degustation to reacquaint ourselves and some allergies were accounted for with aplomb. It was a great meal
Fabulous, friendly and attentive service, it would have been better with a greater delay between courses, however I hope that our lost booking was the cause.
The interior is somewhat and tired, and the lighting rather dark and makes it difficult to read the menu. Small things, which we didn't mind at all a few days before Christmas.
Great staff, great food.
Decked out with style befitting Justin Timberlake, this place is ready to take the Canberra world by storm. But, as you can see from the score, there are problems, though not fatal, cause for pause. The maitre d' has a stream of smoke coming from her ears before she allows us to have a table that isn't right next door to her lectern. The service is friendly and kind, but bistro level. Drinks are twice forgotten, so the glass of wine arrives after the entrees have been eaten. No meal check, and the bill delivered without being called for. My enquiry as to where the beef short rib comes from..."Sydney"...ill return to my hometown tomorrow, and keep an eye out for grazing livestock. The beef itself is really well handled, but the much needed acid and spice of the promised jalapenos is sorely lacking. Similarly, absent is the promised kombu in the otherwise pleasant daikon salad. The Bonito should be written as flakes, not inferring the fish. The raw snapper dish is very good, as is the yellow tail nigiri. Tragically, the eel pieces would be rejected in the most routine Japanese izakaya. Scrawny and dry, at this level, they should be smoked fresh to order, or at least on premise. The dessert was clever enough. This place could be really very good with a little work...by work I mean someone who knows the inside of the daily grind of restaurants as well as whomever did a great job on the outsides, and food design.

Authentic Japanese cuisine served in an atmosphere reminiscent of dining in Tokyo. The deep fried mackerel set menu was excellent value served with a bowl of rice which could have fed at least two people. The karaage bento box had a good selection of items to enjoy. Both were delicious and filling. Highly recommend Izakaya Kotobuki if you’re looking for a good value dining option in the Brisbane CBD.

Very nice experience with my partner for a Friday date night. Service was efficient with a semi full room, and the wait staff were pleasant. The ambience and vibe of the main dining area was superb, with dimly lit overhead lights and good music. Food was nice, ordered the lamb rump and miso duck breast, lamb was great and so was the duck breast, even if slightly dry. Will have to come back here to try the banquet. For dessert, the yuzu white chocolate almond tart was very good. Great experience overall.
First time here as I'm unfamiliar with the area, was craving some Japanese. Had the assorted sashimi don which was delicious, fish all very fresh. Restaurant mood and atmosphere was very relaxing and at home. Staff very friendly. Definitely will come back 😊
This restaurant was amazing I got served straight away I had the premium wagu beef and it was amazing, the sauce was so Devine and I would recommend this restaurant to everyone

This Japanese experience was truly exceptional! The sake tastings and the availability of various sake bottles added a delightful touch to the experience.

The bento boxes were not only delicious but showcased the authenticity of the cuisine. The staff, with their fun and engaging demeanor, enhanced the overall dining atmosphere.

The menus, with their authentic feel and avoidance of a generic or mainstream vibe, were a great touch, contributing to the genuine Japanese experience. Highly recommended for those seeking an authentic and enjoyable journey into Japanese cuisine and culture.
Kadoya has been one of my favourite go-to places for some decent curry food for years, still lovin it.
I have dined at this restaurant several times and have consistently found the food to be delicious and the service to be excellent. The restaurant has demonstrated remarkably consistent quality over time. However, my most recent visit had an unfortunate element that detracted from the overall experience.

Throughout our meal, the chef was loudly scolding staff members, speaking in a mix of English and Japanese. As a result, it was obvious to all diners that there was conflict occurring in the kitchen. This created an unpleasant ambient atmosphere that undermined the enjoyment of the dining experience. Despite this stress, the staff members continued delivering professional and attentive service.

The food quality remains superb and the staff are consistently friendly, helpful and professional. However, the aggressive way the chef addressed employees really marred the dining ambiance. While ensuring quality is important, there are more constructive ways to communicate that do not compromise customer satisfaction or staff morale. I hope the chef will reflect on how their behavior impacts the restaurant environment and seeks a more positive approach. When dining out, part of the experience is the comfortable mood created, and this could be improved.
One of the Best restaurants I have experienced!!!. Salmon and fishes were very fresh and tastes of other dishes were fantastic. Wagyu Beef was very delicious !!
You know what, staff were very friendly too!!. I reckon this one would be one of my regulars !!!
Thanks for the quality foods and services.
Keep up the good works guys :)

Had a great experience dining here.
Got to say a special thank you to the kind waitress that made the experience even better. The recommended mushroom truffle skewers were definitely a hit - I must say I was sceptical at first, but the flavours definitely impress.

The sashimi is fresh and very tasty. The twice cooked pork skewers are juicy with a refreshing taste. Do recommend dipping the pork into the mushroom truffle sauce (if you get both skewers) as it's such a good combo!

Lastly, I had the duck breast for the main. Succulent and pumpkin was great.

Definitely found my Japanese hit in Brisbane now. Will be back

Food was very nice. The flavors were perfectly balanced and the presentation was impeccable. I especially enjoyed the combination of ingredients used in each dish. The chef's attention to detail was evident in every bite. Overall, it was a delightful culinary experience that left me wanting more.
Absolutely amazing, we decided to try as we really liked pastuso's take on Japanese/Peruvian food but this place is a whole different level. The tostadas, snapper tiradito, the octopus, the chicken (best chicken breast I've tried in my life so far) and the coconut yuzu dessert were the highlights. The atmosphere is intimate, not pretentious yet classy. The service and drinks were awesome. Super recomend it if in Canberra
My husband and I went here for our wedding anniversary on a Monday night. We tried one of the set menus and everything we had was amazing! My favourites were the truffle tuna tostadas, the potato crisp huancaina and matcha cheesecake, which exhibited a wonderful blend of Japanese and Peruvian flavours.

The atmosphere felt cozy, with the earthy tones and low lighting. The staff were also very friendly and attentive! We would be interested in coming back trying other items on the menu.

Wrote a review about this place well over a year ago and nothing has changed as far as quality and price.

The staff are quick to serve without being pushy.

Japanese beer on tap at fair price plus on bottles and cabs. Sake or Japanese spirits and liquors available.

I love the Okanomiyaki on a stick. Is my favourite.
Had pickled vegetables and agedashi tofu which were excellent.
Nigiri eel and scallops were great grilled options.

I hoped to sample more but with a couple of beers was full. A farewell sake or 2 completed a memorable night.

The owner Ito is a true gentleman and will recommend items not on the menus if pushed. I had the octopus and wasabi to finish which he said is very popular in zjapan. Really enjoyed it.

If you're in Brisbane CBD anytime, do yourself a favour and try it.
Food is great. I hope the rice can be better a little bit. The meat choice that I had (chicken) was amazing, well marinated, and soft. Would come back to try more. Service is quick and nice.

The person who came up with this dish has absolutely no idea what Yakiniku Rice is supposed to taste like.
This one is weirdly sweet, the veggies are wrong and the tomatoes are just a weird addition. The rice was just absolutely soaked like soup?

Absolutely not authentic.

The only positive is the large amount of beef given.

So damn hot! I got a Japanese Chicken Curry and two Aburi Salmon for takeaway, and even though I ate it about 20 minutes after it was made it was still steaming hot!

The chicken was crispy and delicious, and the aburi was classic. Loved it!
Ok for sashimi, and maybe sushi rolls. We ordered the Sashimi Large Platter, Salmon sushi roll, Karaage Don and Pork Rib Don. The sashimi was quite pricey, but at least it was fresh and the cut was thick. For context, We were served 4 slices of salmon, 4 slices of kingfish and 4 little scallops and that costed us 50 AUD. The Salmon roll had cooked salmon inside the roll and was dry, which is a bit disappointing. But I love the generous salmon sashimi on top of the rolls. I live nearby, so might come back for sashimi or sushi roll cravings, but won't go near the dons again. They were soggy and the flavours were all over the place, neither unique nor authentic.

My one of my favourite Japanese curry in canberra. When I moved to Sydney i am missing this flavour. Whenever I visit canberra I won’t miss eating there. Hope you guys will open in Sydney soon
I am just not sure how it has received the high ratings it has received...

If the food was about half the price of what they charge, then I would have said it was reasonable for the quality. However for the price they charge (and I left hungry after a full no carb degustation - in fact I was so hungry that I even ordered a bowl of rice!) it was actually very disappointing. Not just quantity but also quality.

The menu itself looked promising with a lot of dishes on offer for the degustation meals (and as a solo diner there weren't a lot of options). As each dish was served I kept wondering if they were serious with the portions...

Sashimi pieces were the smallest and thinnest I have ever been served. Tempura was dripping with oil (a good tempura deep fried at the right temperature should be crispy without any oil even on the wax paper), chicken teriyaki was a bit too sweet and so was nasu dengaku.

I requested for a fresh wasabi, and that was $5 for a small side plate of wasabi. I don't think the menu had anything for less than $20.

This place is definitely run by a Japanese chef but I have had better Japanese food at restaurants run by non-Japanese in Sydney.

Overall not the best Japanese experience and I am having some potato chips as I write this as the dinner was so inadequate (and it cost $90 without any drinks!)

I am giving more than one star as they were pleasant enough despite the food issues described above
Really love every bits of the food that they serve here. Taste really authentic, so many different variety. The atmosphere is really cute. Don’t judge by the design or the restaurant service scape, it’s more about the taste of the food really. Everything is top notch. Well done👍 .

9/10. Hanaichi never seems to disappoint with extremely affordable prices and high quality of food. I usually tend to get a large karaage curry which is only around $13-$14 and a extremely large portion size. Generally speaking for this price point there aren’t many other stores where you can expect such quality of foods. Well done Hanaichi!

Heard from many sources that the Japanese food in Brisbane was top tier, so obviously had to see for myself. I must say, it definitely lived up to the expectation. As someone who is half-Japanese, the flavour was genuine and reminiscent of what I eat while in Japan. But as with all good foods, go there with the expectation to pay top dollar for the food. Regardless, it is definitely recommended!
A Japanese restaurant with a interesting and extensive menu that's both familiar and yet a little different. As you walk in, there's a main dining room with your usual table configurations, and to the left is a semi private dining room with traditional sunken seating for a more special experience for groups.

We were a small group and tried quite a few dishes. The main dishes, largely dons, we ordered were average. The eel was a bit rubbery and sweet, the teriyaki was a decent standard but the sauce a bit salty, the Udon was average in taste, and the pork ribs was nicely well braised but the sauce again a bit too salty. The appetisers and sushi rolls were well made and good.

Service was very good, but with some tweaks to the hot food, this restaurant could be great. There's a surcharge for using credit cards.
First of all, regardless of service attitude. The food itself was very stale and perhaps unclean. I'm not sure if it's the beef or the eggs. My boyfriend and I have been having diarrhea ever since we came back from eating, even to the point of taking pills. We are very disappointed with this restaurant.

Exactly what we needed for a late night dinner before heading out on the town. Great customer service and efficient and polite staff who are patient and happy to answer or recommend certain dishes and drinks. We thoroughly enjoyed our meal and experience and was pretty much 2 meters from the exit doors of the hotel Oaks Casino Towers where we stayed for the night. Highly recommend. Arigato gozaimasu ☺️
Food arrived late, cold, poorly prepared, over priced and cheap. Miso soup tasted like it was from a packet. Teriyaki sauce must be from a bottle as it wasn't worth it. The whole meal was a waste. Do not recommend.
Used to be great but got this in edible today looks nothing like the menu pics meant to be terryaki chicken ?

We had a wonderful dinner at Izakaya Kotobuki. Staffs are very helpful and friendly. Atmosphere is great and nicely decorated with Japanese influence. We had mixed sashimi as entree and Unaju Don, chicken curry rice, Fried oyster Bento, Wagyu Beef Sizzling. Sashimi is fresh and tasty. The grilled eel is delicious and fried osyter is very yummy. We are very happy with our visit and looking forward to come back and try other dishes.
My favourite restaurant. Probably eaten there close to 100 times now. Great food, lovely staff and a big selection of authentic Japanese beverages. Never disappoints!

This our go to place for sushi at Warringah mall, but today was an extreme let down. The girl serving us was very rude. We also ordered a ‘chicken delight’ which ended up being mainly seafood. My partner is allergic and was lucky he noticed the crab when we sat down. I went back and asked the girl about this and she couldn’t care less. No replacement offered, no refund and no apology. We visit regularly but will be most likely not be back.
Amazing, been a customer for over 20 years. Very authentic. The menu is extensive, with options for every taste. Great value for money.
✨PERTH’S BEST KEPT SASHIMI SECRET✨ Sumeshiya never fails to disappoint! It is consistently flavourful, quality food, and the most friendly of staff. It’s our local dinner spot and we love it!
Multiple visits at lunch, dinner and takeaways. Sashimi is super fresh. Tamago omelette is well flavoured and caramelised, which has become one of my favourite here. Sushi rice is at my favourite texture. Tokumaki sushi roll has lots of mouth watering fillings.
I’m not keen on deep fried stuff, but Tempura here is yummy and light on stomach. I love their Tataki and Chashu too.
Thanks Sumeshiya for supporting me and my family’s Japanese food cravings 🥟🍤🍣🍱 🇯🇵
You know the feeling you get when your expectations was exceeded. Well this was the case here.

Wanted to have an assorted array of sushi, sashimi and a few hot items for lunch. Didn’t feel like bento, katsudon or the other usual Japanese usual hot suspects.

The sashimi was fresh and nothing tasted fishy. The fried stuff tempura and tofu was good. The udon soup was pretty tasty and the sushi tasted nice, looked homemade and lots of filling. The only thing that could improve was the rice for the sushi as it was a tad too soft. (Maybe they didn’t have time to cool it down).

Happy 😊 and satisfied dining experience!! 5 ⭐️

All three sushi rolls I ordered were filled just in one half. Other half just rice. It used to be a good sushi place, but not anymore. Not the best option in Warringah

Bland and dry ramen and katsu don. Expensive for what you get.
Have been coming to this restaurant for many years, each time coming for dinner and the majority of the time dining in. I've never had a bad experience and the food is always delicious. There are some times where the food is slightly slow in coming out, but nothing adverse and generally if the place is busy. Staff are always happy to make additional space for you if the tables are full (such as setting up additional tables) and the menu has good variety.
Pretty happy with the value of the curry-rice with pork cutlet and their agedashi tofu. The karahage were nice, but could have been softer. Will definitely go back.
Great service great food. My son and I both enjoyed the Sukiyaki dinner. Especially with the “Tabehoudai” menu you can eat Wagyu beef as much as you like. The whole experience was awesome. We can’t wait to go back there again. Maybe we can try their bento box for lunch next time.

Specialises in Ramen now (for last two months) so disregard previous reviews on sushi etc, good large tasty bowls available. Quick service, this place deserves attention and customers, but is just around the corner from the more popular spots. Close to the butchers. Good value for money.
I’ve been here a few years ago and quite enjoyed it but this time round, I was quite disappointed. Although the place is small, it’s atmosphere for dining isn’t too bad. Food overall was average, not the very authentic Japanese flavours but still taste good. Chicken karage was nice but a bit over done, colour too dark from deep frying. The chicken Teppanyaki was an absolute disappointment… you pay for a main dish price but gets only tiny portion of chicken on the plate (see photo) which is absolutely ridiculous considering chicken aren’t that expensive to buy. The sauce for it was also super salty.
Not sure if I’d return again.

Just got salmon and avo roll and crispy chicken lettuce and baby sushi rolls, from take away spot near Woolworths.

All had mean level of filling and were bland in taste....not at all what I am use to from this place!

Please stop economising and go back for quality rolls please!
The Wagyu beef curry did not disappoint. Tender and moist with a flavourful curry sauce, it was quite good, with the ginger atop adding a nice sour zing to offset the curry. My wife was disappointed with her Japanese chicken curry because it was warm rather than hot when served. I'd go back; she would not. We're divided. 😆

I had a (sadly) cold plate of chicken and flavourless prawn sushi rolls that were badly wrapped and fell apart. And they had bad mayo on top ... not usual Japanese mayo, tasted more like supermarket brand. At $4.50 a plate that was hard to swallow. No greeting. Sticky benches. No offer of a drink. No smiles. Bad day at Sushiro?!

Stopped here on a whim to grab a quick lunch and was pleasantly surprised at the quality and variety of sushi plates. Very reasonably priced and the lovely sushi chef was very accomodating - he swapped the avocado with cucumber in a roll that my mother requested (made fresh for us) and while we were there another lady asked him to replicate sushi from a photo. He obliged and made it for her on the spot after confirming with her what she wanted in it. Can't say I've experienced such flexibility before at a sushi train! Very appreciated! Excellent service, very friendly staff and I will definitely come back now I know!
Very good and satisfying food. Just a bit exe. Tables are too close together... not ideal for an intmate dinner. Service is reasonably fast and very polite. Plenty of parking. Yummo!
Bishamon is always great place to go for dinner.
I am lucky cuz I live so close to Bishamon so I go quite often.
Their tempura is the best in Brisbane. But make sure if head chef works on that day. I tried when head chef was off, it was alright but was not as good as usual. Every single food is enjoyable.
Thanks Bishamon :)
Relaxed dining, friendly service, food always delicious and freshly prepared. Very popular with locals for eat in or take away. My favourites are the Queenscliff set for lunch, Gyoza, Rainbow Rolls, Tempura, Miso Ramen or the tasty Agedashi Tofu. Some great draught beers on tap or try the Choya plum liqueur after your meal!
Really good fish curry and very filling.

Edit 8 years later:
Still amazing and the staff are super polite, quick, and considerate.

One of the meals with my friends was incorrect, but they were very apologetic and rushed in a new order. It wasn't a big deal but they handled it like the world was ending.

It was kind of like the old school Japanese idea of お客様は神様です (Customer is god). A bit unnecessary
